I’m having some trouble with the first Divination homework. There’s not much on the definition of tasseography in the lecture and I’ve tried looking at the classroom boards as recommended, however could not find anything more. Are we allowed to use our own interpretation on the other words for Tasseography and the prefixes?

If you're talking about Question #3:
The definition of tasseography (although I'm not asking for that but it would be "tasseography is the art of divining with tea leaves"), is in the lecture, along with the two other names its referred to in the same paragraph. Together, all three words mean the same thing; just under different names. And all start with a T.
For the second part, you could use your own interpretation but that's not completely necessary as they can easily be found on the wiki page for tasseography. Where it asks for the etymology of tasse, -ology and -mancy, just explain what languages those come from and what they mean. For example, let's say I wanted the suffix -graph. "-graph means writing and derives from Greek" would be a perfectly acceptable answer.
