Amara was ready for summer. It had been an overwhelming first year filled with giant spiders and vampire bugs and of course, learning. Amara was not planning on going home this summer but considering that she has no idea what madness could happen this summer, she is questioning her decision.

Amara contemplates this on the edge of curfew on top of the astronomy tower. She has a thermos of her favorite tea with her, a bag with a few things, and is dressed simply in leggings and a comfy sweatshirt. Amara sips her tea and makes a mental list of all the stuff she needs to get done this week; charms homework, writing a letter home, checking in with some friends, and a potions essay. That should be it.

Amara grabs her planner from her bag and writes all of these things down, making a plan for the week. One she is satisfied with that, Amara looks up at the sky for a few seconds in a somewhat dreamy way. The sun has just set, leaving bits of purple scattered across the universe. Before her thoughts can dig any further, a figure's shadow looms over Amara. She turns around and glares at what looks like a second-year snek she thinks recognizes. He is looking at her with an odd look on his face, one that she cannot place. Amara continues to shoot daggers at him as he studies her.

"So are you done inspecting me yet?", Amara snaps at him as she flips her hair over her shoulders.

Erik had a lot on his mind these days. The end of the school year was upon him. Still, he hadn't received any letters from his parents. It was atypical and highly unlikely for them to stop sending letters so abruptly. The boy didn't had the faintest clue why it had suddenly stopped. In his parents last letter nothing was stated that could have lead to this. For a while he had blamed himself. He probably had said or done something to anger or far worse to disappoint them, but no matter how he looked at it he couldn't explain it. The only thing he was sure about was that it was a bad omen. However, he couldn't afford to look weak in front of his peers and friends so he needed some time alone. Away from everyone to think. Just to soothe the voices inside his head stating something was wrong.

So, he had set for the roof of the Astronomy tower. Some fresh air would do him good. As fast as his legs could carry him on the fleet of stairs he ran upward. Finally, arriving at the door that stood between him and the door. As he opened the door a sudden waft of an unfamiliar smell hit the werewolf. Someone's here., was the first thought that crosses his mind. He sighed. One would think this castle is big enough to find a quiet and solemn place for yourself now and then. Erik shook his head as he silently snuk towards the unfamiliar figure. He studied her for a while. The boy couldn't quite see who she was and looking at her clothing she wasn't wearing the school uniform so he had no clue in which house she belonged. To be fair he wasn't wearing his either. He was just casually clothed in a sweater and jeans.

Suddenly, out of no where she turned around and threw him a glance. If looks could hurt Erik would've had a blow to his stomach and the air would've left his lungs. Besides that she seemed familiar. He had seen this first year a few times in the common room. Not that he had talked to her or anything, but that might all change as she spoke to him. She seemed to be pissed off at him for some reason. Probably because he had disturbed her quiet place. Not yet, but it'll do., he paused before he spoke again. For now. Erik gave her a small smile before he walked towards the railing and let his elbows rest on them as he turned back to her. What are you doing here at this hour, first year?

Amara's glare turned into a smirk as she listens to the newcomer's response. The wit, the snarkiness- she could appreciate both of those things. He walked up to join her at the railing and asks what she is doing up here. It does annoy Amara that he refers to her as first year, but it could be worse. Amara looks at him and takes her turn to inspect him, though she does not take nearly as long. Even in the dark, his eyes flash a bright green. Amara looks at him head-on, her navy eyes staring into his green ones, "Well, I was watching the sunset and now I am just looking at the stars. And it is Amara by the way, not first year."

Amara plays with her shirt collar not knowing what else to say, if she should say anything else. The boy smiles at her and she smiles back. Amara realizes that her initial assumption that he was intrusive and such was wrong. The second year seems like a nice guy, or as nice as a sneak can be, with some wit and snark which are all things the young girl appreciates in a companion, but she still has very little idea.

Just like that he had made her smile. It had indeed been a good call on his end to give her a quick witted reply. She most certainly seemed to enjoy it. Erik made a mental note of this. It seemed to be the girl's turn to look him over now. When she seemed content she looked straight back at him in his eyes. Erik had to smile because of it and nodded his head as she explained what she up to. Apologies, Amara it is. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance. With that being said, he turned towards her and offered his hand for a handshake. I'm Erik. Erik Tharaldson, last living heir of the pureblood line of Tharaldson. You chose a good night to look at the stars. It's... The werewolf paused there for a minute as he looked at the clear sky. Stunning., he spoke breathlessly.

As the boy looked back at his fellow house mate, he couldn't help, but notice the items she had with her and that she seemed to nervously play with her collar. At least that was how Erik interpretted it. It seems like you were rather enjoying yourself with... Erik closed his eyes as he smelled the air to recognise her drink before opening them again. Your tea. I hope I'm not disturbing you? If I am, I could always leave. He looked back at those deep navy blue pools of hers. Unless you'd rather want me here of course. A small smirk played on the edges of his lips.

Amara takes a sip of her tea before taking Erik's hand to shake. He looks up at the sky and describes the vast galaxy in the best way possible- as stunning. She follows his gaze and gets lost in the massive connect the dots that is the night sky.

Erik goes to ask Amara if he is interrupting her and she snorts. Of course now, after he forced himself into her space, he seems to care about interrupting her. Amara gathers herself to answer, "No, It is all good, stay if you want."

Amara reaches into her bag and grabs the chocolate chip cookie. She splits it in half and offers one part (the smaller one) the Erik. "So why are you out here? Or do you just enjoy creeping up on first years?"

Amara begins to nibble into her cookie and runs another hand over the railing of the tower. She looks into the blue/black abyss and starts to play connect the dots with the stars. She sees a serpent and points at it, "The stars are smiling at us Slytherins tonight." Amara mentions to Erik before going back to the peaceful silence Amara and the older boy are sharing.
