Illowy moved quietly to the Great Hall, though it was still a while before meal time, the snake figured that the sooner she found her place, the less likely she was to draw attention to herself. It had been that morning that the girl had managed to get into her first fight. She'd skipped lunch earlier to take the time to try to pull herself together, but truthfully she was still a bit on edge. Gossip traveled fast in this school, and Illowy did not like being the focus of that gossip.

Trying to keep her head down, letting her hair shield her face like blinders on a horse to hide her bruised face, the girl looked for a place to sit at her house's tables. Her tongue peaked from between her lips to gingerly touch at her busted lip, thankfully no longer bleeding but still tasting of copper. The girl moved carefully, still sore all over her body as she sat down, dropping her books and notes before her on the table. As she settled in, she could help but absent-mindedly pull the sleeves of her jumper over her bruised and scabbed knuckles. It felt like there wasn't a single part of her that didn't hurt.

Deep inside, the snake was secretly proud of herself for managing to finally stand up and defend herself. She was proud for dishing back the last two years of bullying that other girl had dished out to her, and for being quick to get back on her feet every time she was knocked on the ground. By the time the fight was over, the only hope the other girl seemed to have was when one of her little goons managed to try to furious Irishgirl off and tossing her aside. That was the end of that. Illowy wasn't a gambler, and she figured her point was made.

Part of her was still afraid though. She was afraid of getting in trouble for fighting -though by this point she figured she must've been in the clear because no teacher approached her about it-, she was afraid of if her mother found out, or if Kyle would be made she got into a fight and for not telling him about the bully... she'd needed it though. She'd needed to take care of this herself...

The girl stared blankly at the page of her textbook, pale eyes scrolling through the words, but retaining nothing as she was lost in her own mind.

I was told I was dangerous. When I asked why, they said, "Because you don't need anyone." That's when I smiled.

Kyle sat in the back of class with his chin resting in the palm of his hand as he stared blankly at the chalk board at the front of the class. History of magic was quite possibly his least favorite class. The professor was going on about something that had happened to some group of wizards at some point in the past, but honestly even if his life depended on it he could never tell you anything that was discussed in this class. He blinked slowly to keep his eyes from drying out and sat up straight with a stretch just in time to hear the professor dismiss the the class.

Once out in the hall Kyle slipped his hands into his pockets, he was wearing frayed black slacks, his white button up shirt not fully buttoned and one button off making his shirt skewed with his tie loose instead of tight. Despite being in uniform, his ever present boots were still a part of his outfit, though they were atleast tied today to draw less attention to the fact that he wasnt wearing dress shoes.

His stomach grumbled and pulled him from his blank thoughts and with a sigh he decided to make his way down to the great hall, hoping that he wouldnt run into her down there. They hadn't spoke since she let him know where they stand at the courtyard and he was hoping to keep it that way.

Once Kyle arrived in the great hall he made his way to the Gryffindor table, scanning the slytherin table just to see if she was here when instead his Cousin's face caught his eye. Rather her split lip caught his eye. He scowled and made his way over to where he was sitting and tapped her on the shoulder and leaned in some "Whose ass am kicking Magpie"

So consumed by her own thoughts, Illowy nearly jumped out of her skin when she was tapped on the shoulder and Kyle's low voice was suddenly in her ear, "For the love of all things decent, Ky!" she spoke in a voice that one could only describe as a whisper scream at him, "Don't startle me like that."

Despite knowing there would be no getting around the question, and knowing the only reason he would say such a thing was because he noticed her little "battle wounds", Illowy still couldn't help from trying to keep whatever superficial markings she had on her out of his sight, "You're not kicking anyone's ass. Everything is fine. I'm fine."

Thin fingers shifted and rearranged her things around her, trying to keep her nervous energy busy. Internally, she was waiting for him to fuss and scold her and be upset that she didn't come to him for help. What good would that have done though? Sending her cousin off in her place like some sort of guard dog (for lack of a better phrase), "Jus' some dumb prats with a vendetta against pure blooded Slytherins with good marks." that was what it had boiled down to. The girls that had been after her since first year always made it a point to hammer into her mind 'the true nature of Slytherins', especially those who came from a pure blood family; and that Illowy's reason for working as hard as she did in classes was nothing more then an obvious sign that she had darker goals for her future.

I was told I was dangerous. When I asked why, they said, "Because you don't need anyone." That's when I smiled.
