The Plan
James stuck his fork into a roast potato and proceeded to shove the entire thing in his mouth. His eyes scanned suspiciously over toward the Gryffindor table. He saw no sign of Savannah at the moment. He wasn’t sure if her absence made him feel more at ease or nervous. She and the rest of the Dark Witches could be anywhere throughout the castle, doing anything or they could have simply finished their dinners early and returned to their dorms.
He wondered if anyone sitting around him might secretly be a part of their number. He was sure Tatiana was one, not present tonight either, but he knew that Savannah had surely recruited a good number to her pernicious cause. Any of the dozens of students scattered around the hall could have been harbouring the dark secret of their alliance with that strange witch.
He checked his watch, a basic analogue one with a leather strap his mother had bought him, his digital watch had to be left behind as it was unlikely to work within the grounds of his new home. It was about 5:50, he’d asked the others to meet him as 6pm but he still jiggled his legs nervously, anxiously awaiting the arrival of his friends.
He’d previously been so caught up in the excitement of the Order, that the thought hadn’t crossed his mind, that pursuing these attackers might actually be dangerous. Either one or more of them might get hurt, or perhaps their exploits could get them into trouble with the professors, the could get detention, or get expelled. He swallowed nervously.

The Plan
。☆✼★━━━━━━✮ @James McMurtrie ✮━━━━━━★✼☆。
Lark had managed to gather her wits by the time she had returned inside after the talk with Elzabeth. She was glad they had decided to go in. She hadn't realized just how chilly it was out until she made it into the Great Hall and feeling returned to her toes.
Admittedly the girl had dragged her feet about joining everyone for dinner at six. She hoped if she did she could be the last one there and they wouldnt think twice about her having left so suddenly. Lark had taken her time fixing her hair from the wind outside and warming herself in the girl's dormitory before heading out.
Wondering how the rest of the meeting went, Lark made her way into the Hall and along the Ravenclaw table hoping to catch sight of everyone.
She froze. Only James appeared to be there. Quickly glancing around maybe the others had just gotten up for a moment and would return? She didnt ser anyone else from the Order. 'Ok.. ok.. just.. act cool. Like Elz said..' Sucking in a quick breath and releasing it Lark walked over to where James was sitting and sat down across from him, a smile on her face. Inside she felt shaky and embarrassed but tried to force down any uneasiness.
"Hey! How did the rest of the meetin' go?" Trying her best to keep her voice steady and making eye contact with her friend, Lark set one of the napkins on her lap and looked at James. Somehow she saw him differently now. How his jaw was set... his brown hair and warm eyes.. A small voice in the back of her mind whispered about how handsome he would be as he grew, almost flashing an image of a character from one of her stories that she had been fond of. She wondered if she should apologize for earlier or if it might just bring up a whole mess of feelings. She decided to keep quiet for the moment and just see how he responded first. Perhaps he thought nothing of it.

The Plan
James looked up, his gaze meeting the girl’s golden eyes and his stomach twisted. He couldn’t work her out, wishing desperately to hear the thoughts that bubbles under her silver hair.
She had rushed out of the room earlier in the day but now she approached him almost casually, as if she’d left early for an appointment. Perhaps she had, perhaps any allusions to a hurt feelings had simply been in James’ head.
James made the choice to match her demeanour, either she he’d simply misread her actions or she was intent on driving his attention away from them. Either way, he felt it the most respectful option not too pry too much.
“Yeah... the rest of the meeting was - uh well it was certainly interesting. I hope you made it to your thing on time, by the way, you know the thing you were late to.”
He gestured to the bench in front of him, offering his friend a spot at the table. His mind was cast back to the night of the Sorting Ceremony when they had met and it seemed like an eternity ago. It had barely been more than a week, and yet things had seemed so much simpler then. He’d never been friends with a girl before and wondered if they were all this complex.
“Just after you left Elizabeth Smith comes bursting into the room again, all ruffled up like she’s been attacked again. She said these jerks from Slytherin we’re trying to kidnap her. I don’t know, Gem reckons he doesn’t but it... he’s right though- something seems- I can’t put my finger on it... like something about her story is- off- in a way. We need to keep a close eye on her. I just feel like her story doesn’t quite add up.
Our guys seem to have a simpler MO, I reckon we could trap them in the halls on the third floor as early as tomorrow afternoon. We might get into a fight though... don’t tell the others but I’ve never been to a real fight before...”

The Plan
Charlotte was physically and emotionally drained when it was time for dinner. Not only did she feel the part, but she looked the part too. Her clothes were all messy, kind of untucked and her hair wasn't brushed down entirely- she looked like a wreck. She wished she would've skipped it and went to sleep, but she didn't- it was too important. Her feet trudged along the stone floors, rubbing her eyes. She wasn't expecting to be tired this early in the night. Too much had happened in one day, she wondered if everyday would be like that. She certainly hoped not, it was a lot take in.
She sat down, not really caring where she was sitting, she wasn't going to talk much anyway. She said a quick 'hi' to both of them, then crossed her arms on the table and put her head down- she wasn't all too hungry anymore, her stomach was already full of butterflies. This is lame, feelings are lame. I don't even need feelings. I'd be fine without them.
She had decided before she came down to dinner that she was going to start ignoring James to get rid of this feeling of confusion. She could just eliminate the problem and go on with her life that way... but that came crashing down as soon as she heard his last sentence."Ye've never been in a real fight before?" She looked up, now resting her chin on her arms. That was questionable. Didn't he take defense classes a while ago? Why else would he take them? "You'll be fine. If you get hit just pretend it hurt really badly then take them by surprise." She kind of shrugged, still trying to find a comfortable position to sit in. Charlotte cursed herself for not being able to have any sort of self control; why was not talking such an issues for her all of a sudden, and how was not listening an issue either?
All in all, she wasn't here to be chatty, all she really wanted was to be with her cousin. If he was going to be anywhere, it would be here. He was always a constant in her life, she was thankful to have him. Charlotte wondered if she should just leave here and go find Gem.

The Plan
“God, just-“
“I know,” A girl with light, ombré hair hissed, pushing Gem away from herself, right into the Great Hall— where he was supposed to be. He’d just met her that day, but she didn’t seem to care whether or not he had time to waste, she just wanted him to get where he needed to. He shook his head, zazzed from the experience he’d just had, and wobbled his way to wherever he thought his friends might be.
Upon sitting down, he already hated the energy happening around them. Were they still on the incident from last time? Of course they were. Why wouldn’t they be? He internally scoffed, looking between Lark and James, then at his cousin- who was... really, really disheveled. He furrowed his eyebrows, not quite paying attention to his other two friends, not the content of Charlotte’s words, but how she was saying them. Folded in, quiet, shy... she only ever got like this when she felt like shite, which was... abundantly clear, right now.
His eyes ticked back over at James, Lark, Charlotte, then the table. He’d originally been sitting across his cousin, but that didn’t feel like an option- it was sort of hard to whisper and talk trash when you were right next to people that may or may not be the problem. He stood up, sitting beside her, using his fingers to comb her hair back into place so she didn’t look like a Wicked Witch. He slid his hand over to hers, tapping it so she’d open up her palms and let him hold it, a simple, reassuring movement.
“So,” He broke the silence, wetting his lips thoughtfully. “Wot’s e’ topic of conversation, aye?” He nodded his head at James, knowing he’d be able to fill him in nice and proper- he seemed like the only one on high alert, but even then... it didn’t seem like much. It was uncomfortable, a thick, sticky goo of tension. He would say the worst part about it was that he couldn’t do anything to alleviate it, but this was pretty much how dinner with his parents went. Embarrassing.

What really knocks me out is a book that, when you're all done reading it, you wish the author that wrote it was a terrific friend of yours and you could call him up on the phone whenever you felt like it. That doesn't happen much, though.

James mentioned the meeting had been interesting. What else could have happened, Lark wondered. She poked at one of the baby carrots as he ended with her..appointment. her stomach clenched, she didnt like the idea of lying to any of her friends.. but it would do no good to say the truth.
"Aye, sorry I rushed out.." Lark decided to just leave it at that.. no need to stretch out a lie... Putting a helping of carrots on her plate, she listened as he said that red haired girl had come back in distressed once more.
"Yikes... seems like she has quite a lot going on. I wonder if they're the same guys?" She nodded in agreement with having to be cautious of the girl. James was right, they had no idea who she was and how true everything was. The boy hadn't attacked her in front of them... maybe it could be something lined up by Savannah's group even to throw them off.
"You-" Lark paused as her eyes settled on Charlotte shuffling towards them and plopping herself down at the table. Lark looked at her friend worried... she looked rather out of sorts.
Not wanting to overwhelm the girl she prodded her with the end of her fork and offered a pitcher of drink with a nod. "Ye want anythin'?" She instantly pushed aside her feelings and focused on Charlotte as Gem joined the group.
Lark flashed him a smile. "James was just saying how crazy the meeting had gone after I left. That girl came back? Not sure how I feel about her story... if she is being hurt it must be awful but.." Her eyes darted around before lowering her voice. "What if she is in line with Sav?" Either way this new girl had made all this the more real. Sighing and chewing on the end of a carrot she thought for a moment.
"What should we do about the others then? Should we plan somethin' now ta try an' ambush 'em still? You sure you want ta be bait?" She looked at James worrying. True, like Charlotte said he had mentioned his training.. and seeing him flip Gem made her confident James would be okay.
"Charlotte is right though, you'll he alright. I mean... you flipped Gem like a hot pancake. Those guys wont know what hit 'em!" She laughed and shook her head flying a pea at Gem.

Elzabeth was starving and ready to catch up on the days events, after all, she had heard things had gotten a little bit crazy after Lark and she had left. It didn't surprise her, the other girl seemed to be a little wild from the moment she had entered their conversation, it was sort of worrying to Elzabeth.
The smell of amazing food wafted down the halls, reaching her nose and making her stomach growl on the way to the Great hall. Chatter echoed down the halls, people excited to talk about their day to friends they hadn't seen for a few hours or to just simply gossip about some new information.
Elizabeth looked over the many Ravenclaws, landing on a familiar group who were already chatting away.
"Hey, hope I didn't miss too much." Elzabeth took a seat next to Lark, digging in on some Potatoes and other side dishes. Lark pelted Gem with a pea, causing Elzabeth the laugh.
After clearing off a plate of chicken wings (that someone had already taken quite a few from, Elzabeth isn't that hungry.) It refilled itself, causing Elzabeth to jump a little. She still had to get used to some of the castles magic.

She'd missed the slumber party because of her own lack of time management skills and her ability to fall asleep anywhere. And now everyone who'd gone would be best friends and she'd be left with no one all because she thought reading in a comfy armchair was better than talking to people (which it was, but that was besides the point). At least she had Gem (and perhaps Charlotte). The thought of her friend jerked her out of her quickly spiraling thoughts.
She surveyed the Great Hall quickly, wanting very badly to go back to her bed and finish her homework. Writing essays was familiar and there was nothing better than the scratch of a quill on parchment while everyone slept.
Her eyes fell on Gem, sitting with a cluster of Ravenclaws. This was just like it was back at home. She found someone, a friend, only to have them leave due to her own stupidity. She shook her head. No, this was nothing like home. Gem and Charlotte clearly liked her enough to hang out with her and James invited her to the slumber party.
Catriona walked over to where they sat and sat down next to Gem. "Hey Gem. Charlotte," she said, nodding to both of them in greeting. "I'm sorry I missed your slumber party, James. I kind of fell asleep..." Saying it out loud made it seem extra boring. "Did anything interesting happen?" She almost winced. Of course interesting things happened, it was a slumber party.

The Plan
Gem hadn't really been paying attention at first, with his whole mind racing due to,
1.) His cousin, who looked like she was about to kill everyone in the room and then herself.
2.) The explanation that was given to him, which made him think enough to shut him up for a little while.
These two situations were not ideal! He brought his finger up it his chin, thinking on it quietly. Ambushing seemed like a childish thing to do, but if it was strategic enough, they wouldn't get caught-- but, they would be the first suspects, and he wasn't sure how good any of his friends were at lying.
"James can 'andle himself, right? There's a whole lot ov us, maybe a couple ov them," He shrugged, taking a short glance at Lark, smiling a little bit. "Ah know yer all protective ov him, but tha's good. Means you'll jump on it when we need ya to." It was also sort of bad, but he didn't mention that part. The last thing they needed was Lark getting hurt because she lashed out too quickly when James seemed like he was in danger- this would have to be really, really mapped out.
"As for Elizabeth, the redhead," He cleared his throat, pressing his tongue against his teeth, "I... don't know wot to make ov her, yet. I.." He squinted, "I just don't. I person'lly don't think we should... ehm, keep in contact, for now? Until she's got her... plans togevah- us too." He sputtered a bit at the end, stopping when he heard a familiar voice creep beside him-- oh, shite-
"Catriona!" He whisper-shouted, eyes large and sparkly with delight. Where would he even be able to begin with the events she missed out on? He'd have to keep it short for now, he didn't want to make her feel bad or anything. "Well... ye missed me gettin' folded like a bloody omlette by James, and some... realleh good food, but..." He fidgeted, drumming his fingers against the table quietly. "You didn't miss mooch. Joost the Order ov the Dawn stuff, which I'll catch ye up on in a bit." Well, so much for him trying to pay attention to fixing the energy of the table-- he didn't know about anyone else, but he was quite distracted with himself now.

The Plan
Margo had been in the Great Hall for a while now, but she had yet to actually join her fellow members of the Dawn. When she had first entered the candle filled room, she had set off for the Slytherin table merely out of habit. Luckily, she wasn't usually very forgetful, so remembered her intended destination without having to make any unnecessary detours. She paused in her step halfway between the Ravenclaw and Slytherin tables, which were, thankfully, next to each other, and calculated her predicament. So far, only Lark and James were present among the sea of blue.
Margo winced slightly. She remembered Lark's timely exit at their previous meeting with excellent clarity. Perhaps it was best to let James have some time alone with the quiet girl before Margo butted in. Not that the Slytherin was insinuating anything, but there was definitely a potential bond there.
Having made her decision, Margo purposefully strode towards the table of her housemates, thinking of a good excuse as to why she wouldn't meet with the Order right away. The golden plates that lined the table glinted in the candle light and Margo blinked. The Ravenclaw table probably wouldn't be prepared for an extra mouth to feed and provide for, so Margo would have to bring her own plate from her predicted dining location. Yes, that was a great idea, Margo smugly congratulated herself for her quick thinking.
The young girl proceeded to hug the wall of the hall as she walked, taking as much time as possible to grab a plate, goblet and set of cutlery before she carried on her way. The Dawn members were sat far enough down the Ravenclaw benches that it was logical for her to go all the way around the Slytherin ones, right? Nobody could possibly accuse her of stalling.
By the time that Margo had ambled up the entire length of the hall and analysed a few staff members, a few other students had joined James and Lark. She slipped in beside Lark, confidently placing the items she had collected o the table. "Hey." She said happily. Everything was going very well indeed. And then Margo realised one thing. She was late. Late, it was scandalous. She was never late, and this evening had been no exception. She'd had arrived at the Great Hall with plenty of time to spare, but she couldn't exactly say that without unwanted questions surfacing.
There was only one thing for it, she'd have to pretend to be okay with her tardiness. How disgusting. "I hope I didn't miss anything." She tried to sound chirpy, unsuccessfully "Didn't mean to be late." Was it really that obvious that her teeth were gritted?
Taking a deep breath, Margo looked around the table, her eyes latching onto a face she didn't yet know. "Hello." She said to Catriona, seizing the change of subject. "I'm Margo. Who might you be?"
A grin like a crocodile and a bob like a funny catfish
