Hanukkah Dreidel Game Sign Ups

I made it out of clay.
And when it’s dry and ready,
Oh dreidel I shall play!”

About the Dreidel:
A dreidel is a top that has four sides. Each side has four different Hebrew letters (ש ה ג נ) which is an acronym called “Nes Gadol Hayah Sham” that is translated as “A Big Miracle Happened There.” “There” refers to Israel. (If played in Israel, “Sham” would switch to “Poh” (פ) which means “here”.)

How to Play:
This is a game of chance. Everyone has 5-10 gelt (coins) on hand. In order to spin, everyone puts in one coin into the middle. The first person spins the dreidel. Each letter on the dreidel has a different instruction:

נ → “Nun” -- Nothing; no coins are acquired from the middle.
ג → “Gimel” -- Large win; you take all of the coins from the middle.
ה → “Hey” -- Half win; you take half of the coins from the middle. If it’s not perfectly in half, then it is the lesser half.
ש → “Shin” -- Put one in; you put one coin into the middle from your hand.

Once the first person spins, then everyone puts one coin into the middle and repeat with the second, third, fourth, fifth, and so on persons. When one person has all of the coins, the game is over and they are declared the winner.

Moderation:
Players can sign up below to take part, in groups of 2-5. Each player in the group will roleplay their character spinning the dreidel. For this game, the word count is reduced to 100 words. Teams of 2-3 will start with 10 gelt, whilst teams of 4-5 will start with 5 gelt.

Once each player has posted, a moderator will post. The outcome of which letter they spin will be decided upon a moderator who will roll a 4-sided die. The order of letters in the dreidel will be the order of numbers.

נ is 1; ג is 2; ה is 3; and ש is 4.
