In between all of the school work, his own self enforced studying, and practices outside with the pole he had made. Drust was finding himself hilariously exhausted, although it was likely far more comical to others than it was him. In truth, Dru was sitting at the Slytherin Table in the morning. The sun was shining in the simulated ceiling, casting rays down upon the tables. This all was further enhanced by the real sunlight allowed through the high windows of the long hall.
There was food in front of the young boy, but he seemed entirely unconcerned with it. In fact, the sausage had gone almost entirely cold on his gilded plate and the tea in the goblet seemed to no longer give off any steam. It was just Drust, staring into a book. Magical Theory to be very exact. It was opened to an indistinct page, and the Slytherin youth was reading the same sentence over and over again. His mind lagging from exhaustion and lack of food.
Hands carefully cupped his cheeks as he attempted to hold himself up. Eyelids would threaten to shut dark brown eyes from the world. He would have preferred to go back to bed for the morning but unfortunately this was not an option. As always, there was class to attend and Drust would not allow himself to miss. Although it would be likely that if he was caught skipping he might lose his house points, something that he did not want to carry the weight of. After all, Slytherin were well known for their unforgiving vengeful personalities and Drust hardly wanted to stir the sleeping snake.
Reaching for a spoonful of fruit, someone would thrust their elbow into Drust causing him to fall flat against the open pages of his book. The youth would groan in dismay, giving an annoyed thrust of his elbow in return before looking to the sausages rolling around on his plate. They looked almost lonely there, without a mouth to feed.
Resolving to take a break then, Dru would close the book and stuff it into his book bag before he picked up his fork and stabbed at the sausage. There was still a red mark on his forehead from his head banging - loudly - against the book and his cheeks were quite rosy from all the pressure from the palms of his hands.
All in all, Drust thought this would be a good morning to simply go to sleep and not wake up for the rest of the week.

Cassie hated waking up in the mornings, but begrudgingly she woke up and got ready before breakfast.
Cassie walked down to the Great hall and saw a boy she didn't know about to fall asleep. So she elbowed him to get him to wake up. The ebony haired girl saw she might have done it to hard. He thrusted her back in annoyance and she shrugged. "Time to wake up." She said dryly. She was a site to behold. A short girl 4'1, 81 pounds, her natural black hair color could be seen through the electric blue color her hair was dyed, her fair skin and blue eyes, and her cold facial expression. She also looked older than she was.
Cassie frowned at the boy. She sat down next to him and put bacon and sausage on her plate. There were also some eggs on her plate to go with the meat. The ebony haired girl ate her food quietly and glared at Drust for no reason, except he had the nerve to shove her back. Yes she knows he is taller and probably stronger than her, but still she wasn't scared to fight back even if it was a ridiculous idea.

Drust was chewing on the sausage, inspecting its insides in silence. Annoyed that the girl next to him had decided to elbow him. Who attempted to wake someone up, by elbowing them? Was that a normal behavior in society? The boy contemplated, unsure whether this was simply how the world outside of his home was, or if this was some kind of weird anomaly. Grumbling he took another bite, wondering how it was that he was supposed to approach this or deal with this particular issue. Were people often raised like wild beasts that elbowed each other? Either way, Dru had elbowed back in response for the sake of making sure that whoever it had been knew that he shouldn't be elbowed on accident or on purpose. It was just wrong!
Finally, he lowered the fork of his sausage and turned to the girl next to him. What was her name again? She was a first year, he knew that much. He had seen her in classes, and around the common room but he couldn't bring a name to the face. The first thing he noticed was the hair. Did they allow that? What a strange choice...
"Don't elbow me," He finally said. It didn't seem like he had a problem with confrontation, and he wasn't about to beat around the bush in regards to this. It wasn't in his nature to do so. So instead, he fiddled with the handle of his fork and continued to stare at the girl piercingly waiting for her to apologize.

Cassie ate her food silently. Maybe she shouldn't have elbowed him. It wasn't a normal thing to do to wake people up. Then again she wasn't to fond of doing things normally. He had elbowed her back, but only in annoyance.
Cassie picked up a goblet of water and drank a small amount of it then sat the cup down.
There was so much food on the table it was amazing. Normally for breakfast she would just eat pancakes or bacon or sausage, but here all of that was available and more types of food was on the table too.
"I'll elbow you if I want." She snapped back. "Just chill. I only did it so you would stay awake. I probably won't do it again." If he was looking for an apology he wasn't going to get one that said, I'm sorry for elbowing you. In her mind she wasn't going to give him one. What she told him was the closest thing to an apology right now. Maybe he would get a full one later, but for now that would be it.
Cassie felt him stare at her. It made her uncomfortable. She muttered loud enough for him to here "Sorry, not."

Drust was starting to think this was normal behavior. Violence, being rude. Of course, it was not every day he met someone who was as rude as this girl. It was quite strange, he had never had anyone elbow him on purpose, before promptly refusing to apologize. In fact, what was more curious was her resistance to his personal boundaries. They were not friends, why did she think it was okay to elbow other people?
Taken back by her ill-mannered nature, Drust had to collect himself for a moment. "Sorry, not?" He repeated, as if this did not quite compute inside of his head. She was not sorry then, for sticking her elbow into him... The world fell silent for the boy for a moment, not even the low chatter of the hall was penetrating his head.
Drust realized then, that he was growing angry and there was a white hot flash before him that dictated that he tackle the girl and beat her up. But he didn't. Instead, he turned to his food and counted down.
Ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one...
A deep inhale and exhale and the knot in his stomach disappeared and he was back to feeling normal. Girls were stupid, he recalled. They didn't know what they were talking about half the time anyway. His mother was the only girl who was actually smart and not a complete oblivious moron. But, he also knew that saying something like that out loud was simply a bad idea. So he didn't.
A bite of sausage, he sighed at how cold it was. Abandoning the sausage he poked himself a new one and proceeded to eat something the newer, warmer sausage.
"Are you always rude to strangers?"

Cassie breathed in a sigh. Her brother would be so mad if he knew what she did. She took a few deep breaths and told herself to try to be nice. "I'm sorry." She said as sincerely as she could sound. Maybe she could get him to possibly be her friend. No he already knew what kind of person she was on the inside, maybe he could help her. "I am always rude to strangers. It's one of my character flaws. I'm trying to improve it, but I'm not getting any better at it." She said trying to make her tone not sound dry.
Cassie pushed her plate away in front of her. She was done eating. She hoped that she hadn't gone to far for a second she thought he was going to tackle her. Which she wouldn't have been able to do anything to get herself free.
Cassie didn't understand the concept personal space. When he was busy not paying attention to his plate she stole a piece of sausage put it on her plate. Poking her fork into it she started eating it. Cassie didn't understand that that was rude. She would have let him do the same to her.

Drust raised an eyebrow, now she was apologizing. Abrupt, a little weird, but appreciated. At least when she explained her reasoning he was more prone to shrugging, and waving his hand at her. Continuing to eat. "I would say apologizing here and now, means you are improving?" He suggested, before taking another bite of his food, washing it all down with some tea. His nose scrunching a little, it was quite cold. Unfortunately tea did not taste at its best when it was so cold. A sigh left the boy and he pushed away the mug, perhaps he would settle for pumpkin juice instead, although that was far too sugary for his tastes.
When she grabbed the sausage from his plate, he pretended that he had not noticed before shaking his head. "Well that's rather gross, don't you think?" He asked with a slight tilt of his head. At least, it felt pretty gross to him, maybe he was wrong. Eating someone else's food when there was plenty of it on the table. Untouched and uneaten. He just stared at Cassie, blinking in abject confusion. Honestly, who ate someone else's food from their plate when every option in the world was right in front of them? It seemed a bit backwards and his mind could not quite comprehend it.

Cassie sighs and looks at her food. "If you want to think I am improving then okay." Well maybe she was improving, but she didn't think she was. The apology wasn't really an apology, but at least she managed to say sorry. Well kind of. Cassie looks at her food and takes a drink of water. Maybe she could try to be nice? It would be hard for her so maybe.
Cassie looks at Drust and just shrugs. "I cut off the piece you bit off. Plus you weren't going to eat it so that is very wasteful in my opinion." In her family wasting food was not an option. That is why she only put as much as she was going to eat on her plate. If she wanted more she would get a little more. Still she guesses other people don't mind wasting food. Well weren't brought up like she was.
Cassie puts her fork down on her empty plate and looks at Drust. "Well I was brought up to never waste food. Anyways you were being wasteful so I helped you not be. So you're welcome." Cassie says drinking the rest of the water in her cup.

Drust just stared at the girl, wasting food? That one he had never heard of before, he looked down at his plate and then at the girl. Curious. He honestly wasn't sure how to feel about this situation, how did she know he wasn't going to eat anymore of his food? Was it because it had gone cold and he was grabbing some of the warmer offerings? His mind moved a million miles a minute before he settled on the fact that she was just a tad strange. That was alright too, as long as she didn't do anything too strange later, like make her head where her feet were and her feet where her head was or something. Drust wasn't interested in an upside down inverted witch. Not at all. In fact, the very idea sounded quite terrifying.
Nonetheless, he shrugged at her comment about wastefulness. "It's alright, the elves need to eat too... They're the lot that cooks for all of us, no?" Despite all of the laws in place for the betterment of house elf lives, there were still a very long way to go and Drust was of the opinion that they should just remain as helping hands to the wizarding community. They had always done rather well in doing so, so why change a well functioning tradition? He didn't agree - of course - that these poor things should be abused, but still....
"Once it all disappears it just goes back to the kitchens, I reckon, and then they get to eat what we don't."

Cassie looked at Drust and sighed. He obviously was weirded out that she seemed to know he wasn't going to eat his food. Well, obviously he went for the warmer things and let the cold food sit on his plate. "I know but still. Wasting food isn't necessarily a good thing. Well I don't know about the house elves. What about the food that is left half eaten and so cold that it is no good? You expect them to eat that?" She shook her head and looked at him. She didn't know what else to say on that topic.
Cassie wiped a stray strand of blue hair out of her pale face and looked at the table. Why was she so tired? Yawning she looked at the table and at all of the food. She was definitely going to have to get used to people wasting food. There was so much food on the table not all of it was going to get eaten. The idea was appalling, but she would have to try to get used to it. Cassie sat there and fiddled with her bracelet. This would be a long and interesting day. Cassie yawned again and looked back at Drust waiting for him to say something.
