Switching Tables Finished

Sophie walked down into the Great Hall for Breakfast. She rubbed her emerald eyes. She was staring at the four tables. She had a lot of friends in the different houses. So, why did she have to sit at another table? What was the point in making friends in other houses, if the only time you could see them, was between classes, and during classes! And the majority of the time, you spent studying!

Instead, Sophie ignored the Gryffindor table, and set course for the Slytherin table. She never really knew any Slytherins besides her good friend Zero, who she had been walking towards. Sophie decided she was going to protest against this unjustice!

Or at the very least, she was going to sit at another table, and not move back. Oh god it was horrid! She's a rebel! Stop her! She'll destroy the world! But of course, she really did think it was a bit unfair.

What was the point in having friends in different houses, if you never spoke to them?  It was one thing the young Gryffindor pondered a lot, so, she decided she wasn't going to stand for it.

"Morning Zero! How are you this fine day?" Prompted the Gryffindor, as she slid into the seat next to her friend.

She jumped a little. "S-Sophie, what are you doing..?" Zero looked at her friend, confused. Nobody had ever switched tables before. Why had she? Sophie wasn't a Slytherin, what was she thinking?
"Sophie, you have other friends..More important ones, and nicer ones.." Zero stated, feeling the stares of other Slytherins. "Why sit here..? You have other friends, don't you..?" She looked around, making sure nobody saw her, which was a stupid choice. "You have your own t-table.." She'd quietly tell herself to shut up and let it be. Let it be. Let it be. Let it be. The thoughts played on rewind for a few moments before she returned to her focus. "Are you sure this is okay? Won't you get in trouble..?" She completely stopped talking. It wasn't going to help.

Zero looked at Sophie. She seemed fine with it. Carefree, no problem with people staring whatsoever. They - well, Sophie would've gotten into trouble. One side of Zero couldn't care less, the other wanted Sophie to go back to her table and it would've been all over, no problems, no fuss. But not Sophie. Bold, well, Sophie. Hard to explain her. Bold. That's it, in Zero's opinion. That's just her.

Sophie flipped her light blonde hair carelessly, it was her way of showing she just... didn't care.
Or she just didn't want to care. There was a difference, seeing as she did sometimes care, but wanted not to, or she didn't, but wanted to. She always had trouble with emotions, she was very aloof.

"Eh, who cares really? I mean, its pretty boring, all the Gryffindors are the same. And my friend Aliea is asleep, and my other friends are still getting ready, I mean honestly, they take forever." Sophie shrugged carelessly.

"Two questions. One, what's the name of your dorm, and two, what classes do you have?" Sophie prompted her friend, helping herself to some porridge and eggs.

"I'm in the McGonagall dorm, with my friend Minerva, and a few other girls, and.. Ugh!" Sophie had just pulled out her schedule, it was horrid. "Potions, Charms, D.A.D.A, then Ooh! I have Transfiguration then Herbology!" Sophie grinned, it was Transfiguration and Herbology she was very good at. But everything else, she was just.. okay at. Well, besides Astronomy.

Sophie sighed and shoved her schedule into her robes, next to her wand, and spooned more Porridge into her mouth. Sadly, there wasn't an syrup on the table, so she could poor it on her biscuit.

Sophie was a weird kid, but that's okay.

Kathleen watched as the blonde girl stand up from the Gryffindor table - the table she herself had sat at a few minutes ago due to a horrifying mistake, but now she sat safely with the Ravenclaws - and cross the hall, her hips swinging, her eyes daring anyone to question her. She sat down at the Slytherin table next to a tall girl, what was her name? Zela, Zerry, no, these weren't even real names. Zero! Unusual name. The blonde girl fascinated her. How on earth did she bring up the courage to just change tables deliberately? She quickly lowered her gaze as she noticed she had been staring at the Gryffindor for a few minutes without blinking. She hoped that the girl would make friends with her.
Kathleen noticed that others had turned around to face the blonde Gryffindor, some looking admiringly, same as Kathleen herself, others shaking their heads or rolling their eyes in disgust. "What on earth is she doing?" she heard someone say. "She should be proud of her own house, the selfish brat!" Kathleen could tell that the girl had heard it too. She shook her ponytail as if not to care, but the Ravenclaw could tell that she only pretended. With a sudden burst of courage she stood up and crossed the hall, taking seat on a chair next to the girl. A loud muttering burst out, more faces gazed around astonished, but Kathleen did not care.

Be yourself, everyone else is already taken.

Zero became fascinated as another girl from the Ravenclaw table also stood up, and walked towards Zero and Sophie. Why were these people so brave? Zero didn't even understand how one person could sit at another table by accident!

No wonder she wasn't in Gryffindor, or Ravenclaw, She was a bloody Coward! Of course Sophie was in the house of the brave, she never cared what anyone thought, and would do things her way right until the end.

Perhaps that was why the Sorting hat didn't put her anywhere else. Most Slytherins weren't brave, they always did what they were told, (even if it meant a bit if lying) and they were never brave or bold. It was like Phineas Nigellis had said, 'Slytherin's may not be brave, but for example, we will choose to save ourselves, over others.' And that was what Sophie had always done.

Zero blinked as the two other girls began conversing. She had no idea what to do, and, how to speak up. Not that she didn't want to make friends, but she wasn't a social butterfly. So the only choice was to speak to the Gryffindor and Ravenclaw.

Switching Tables Finished
Robert had just made his way to the Great Hall that rainy morning in order to grab some breakfast before the day began. He lazily made his way to the Slytherin table. He was pretty excited about that day, since he would get to attend his favourite class, Defence Against the Dark Arts. As he started enjoying a nice cup of tea and engaging in smalltalk with some of his House mates, he spotted a Gryffindor girl sitting at their table, looking like she didn't care at all. His eyes lit up. Staring at her, Robert tried to overhear their conversation. It seemed like the Slytherin girl she was sitting next to was her friend. "Morning Zero, how are you?"

The girl called Zero appeared to be shocked by her action. "Sophie you have other friends.. More important ones and nicer ones. Why sit here?". She appeared too weak before the Gryffindor girl, something Robert wasn't going to allow. "Eh, who cares really?", the girl called Sophie replied before starting to chat about some other things. Robert cared, as he was about to show her. Placing his cup of tea on the table, Robert confidently stood up, straightened out his robe and walked towards the two girls, readying the stone cold look on his face.

Suddenly, out of nowhere, another girl just sat down next to the two already there. This time she was a Ravenclaw. It looked to him like they were questioning Slytherin's authority over their own table, and since no one seemed to care enough, it was up toto Robert. Since they were busy conversing, they didn't notice him as he made his way behind them. "Excuse me, Sophie", he said with a tone of irony. "Does this side of the Great Hall look like the one a weak Gryffindor would sit?". Turning his look towards the Slytherin girl, he continued; "Please remind your friends that this side is forbidden to all but the best. Next time I'm not going to be so kind", he concluded and waited for the girls' reaction.

Either I will find a way or I will make one.

Sophie burst out into laughter. As if she cared about switching tables. Zero, and the other Ravenclaw girl seemed shocked by the boys action, but Sophie knew way better. Most Slytherins were going to act like this, and especially rude to Gryffindors.

"Well you see, if this was indeed the best side, why don't you go sit over there?"

She motioned to the other side of the large Great Hall carelessly with one hand. Sophie then ignored the Slytherin boy and continued to spoon porridge into her mouth. Nothing, and No one would mess with her and her food, books, or friends.

'Wonder why father was ever in this house? Sure he was ambitious, but he wasn't rude like.. some people.' She grinned automatically. Her father had indeed been in the house of Salazer Slytherin, and her mother had been in Gryffindor. Now how did that work out?
The two houses that majorly hated each other, became husband and wife. There is no way in Merlins beard that that would just happen regularly. Perhaps it was just a bad dose of magic.

Sophie then looked back to the boy. Annoyance beginning to build up in her blood and veins. He really was just an annoyance! Then, without thinking she stood up very abruptly.

"Look. If you want to criticize  me and my friends because you think you own this place, than you can just leave. I really don't need, nor want to listen to your basic and useless little voice taking up my time on this lovely day. And who gives a damn if I sit at another table? There all the same aren't they? Don't they all have the same wood? The same food? Who cares if the tables are destined to be sat at by someone else, its just some segregation unknown to mankind." She spoke very fast, but very clear. She wasn't some scared fox that was going to run away, she was going to stand proudly and tall, but if she had to, she would fight.

Robert remained still as the Gryffindor girl began laughing in his face. "Well, if this was indeed the best side, why don't you go sit over there?". He could feel the temper rising inside him. If only they were somewhere more private than the Great Hall, she would be dangling from the ceiling upside down or have her shoes adhered to the floor. He wasn't going to let anyone behave like that, especially a Gryffindor student.

"I already told you to get up once and I don't like repeating myself. Leave or embrace the consequences", he replied as calmly as he could, trying to hide his anger. "That applies to you too", he informed the Ravenclaw student. Just as he thought it was over, Sophie stood up and started yelling at him. "That's it, you're done for!", he raised his voice, "tonight, after curfew, I'm going to be in the corridors on the second floor. We'll finish this once and for all. Don't make me come looking for you". Not wanting to hear her voice anymore, Robert left the Great Hall and went towards his Defence Against the Dark Arts lesson, clearly angry about what took place.

Either I will find a way or I will make one.

Sophie rolled her dark emerald eyes. The anger and annoyance shown in them was not to be tested, that much was certain. She fished in her robe pockets for her chestnut wood wand.

'Ah, Miss Murphy, how are you?' Said the eccentric voice of Garrick Ollivander. How the old man knew the young girls name, Sophie would never know. 'It didn't seem so long ago when your parents were here, buying their first wands as well. Ruby Rose, a wonderful Acacia wood and Phoenix feather, she did do a lot of great beautiful magic with it. Always was meant to be an Auror that one. Your father's wand wasn't as powerful. Dragon Heartstring and Blackthorn. Of course, he shouldn't of been one of the top in his career. He is an image of Barty Crouch Sr. Now, for you. I wonder who's wand you favor?' Said Ollivander as he began searching for wands. 'Aspen wood and Unicorn hair.' He'd state, handing the young girl the wand. The second it touched her fingers, he snatched it away, muttering 'No, no.' After four more tries, Sophie began thinking that maybe she wasn't a witch and her parents were joking. 'Chestnut wood and Unicorn hair. Unusually curious wood. And of course together, the wand creates very curious magic.' As the wand touched the young girls hand, it began glowing, brightly and warmly. And The wand, had chosen the wizard.

But the curious wand was very powerful as well, it showed much more strength in her then Archer's wand did anyway. The power it held wasn't one to be tested.
And in the hands of a very angry small Gryffindor. There was nothing to be tested about that.
