Ruka couldn't help but be a little taken aback by Willow's bubbly attitude; she seemed far too happy, far too excited and carefree and he wasn't quite sure he trusted that. People like that were usually either compensating for something, or were far too naive for their own good. 

Life was cruel and would probably destroy this girl in a heartbeat.

Shaking his head off that thought, Ruka just watched as she introduced herself and loudly invited everyone in their immediate surroundings to join their friendship bracelet making workshop. This was about the latest Ruka would have gotten up and left if it wasn't for Alan and his stupid puppy dog eyes, and his evil ways of making him feel guilty for not being as excited about life as the older Gryffindor was himself.
Speaking of the other boy, Ruka put his attention on Alan again for a while, offering him a small smile as he talked about who he was making the bracelets for. He had imagined that Alan had an easy time rattling off at least half a dozen names on his friend-list, but he only seemed sure about who to give one bracelet to, was apparently still thinking of who to make the recipient of the second.
"Well, I'm sure whoever you'll give it to will appreciate it," he said with a little shrug while playing with the green thread he'd picked out between his fingers. The twirled a part of the string around his thumb, leaving small indents in the skin as he removed it again.

Turning back to Willow, he frowned a bit, tilting his head to the side as he mustered her for a second. She may have had a point in saying she was her own best friend - Yourself was probably the only person you could almost always count on, but observing her behaviour up until this point, Ruka doubted that she had really meant it the way that he was thinking of. Not quite unlike Alan, this girl seemed to thrive off positive relationships with people - He imagined that, if it was up to her, all of Hogwarts would be wearing friendship bracelets by now. 

What really caught his attention, however, was her casual mention of a name he'd been mulling over in his head since the day before. 

Flash.

Surely she couldn't be talking about the same kid who had tried to grossly manipulate him the day before while he had been deep inside an emotional low? The same boy who'd tried to pull several different tactics on him to get information on Jack before actually laying his intentions bare?

Why would a girl like this keep around a boy like that?

He decided not to question her out loud. Not now, not in front of all these people. Maybe he wasn't the best at social interactions, and maybe he wasn't the most delicate and empathetic person out there, but even he could see that this was not a setting to intentionally put himself into a fight.

No, instead he looked back at Alan with a small frown on his face before registering what the other boy had asked him. "Oh, uhm," he said dumbly, blinking at the table a few times before concentrating on the various colours that were still spread out all over the place. He suppressed the urge to put them all into order and instead reached for a shade of grey that caught his eye, placing it next to the green he had already picked out before.

Slytherin colours, he realised belatedly, clenching his hands into fists for a moment.

Figures.

He took a deep breath and looked back over at his housemate, only to realised that another girl had struck up a conversation with him that Ruka had no intention of joining.

Well, he figured, with Alan otherwise occupied, at least there was nothing stopping him from leaving.

Once he had finished that stupid bracelet that he definitely wasn't making with a specific person in mind.

Willow was trying to make quick work of getting everyone set up to make bracelets. 'I should've brought multiple scissors... Or be able to do that fancy snap that Professor Browne did and have them all cut.' It was too late for what she should do, but next time she would remember to bring more supplies so people weren't waiting on her for too long. Once she had Alan set up, she moved on to the other Hufflepuff girl who had quite a few different set of colors picked out for hers.

"I've actually made one for my mom too, she has never taken it off despite it probably being the worst one I've ever made." She chuckled as she thought of the memory of the second bracelet she had ever made. It could barely even be called a bracelet, but her mom still cherished it nonetheless. "I know nearly every pattern you can think of. If you describe how you want it made then I can help you bring it to life. I want to start everyone out on the same simple bracelet though before going on to a more advanced one if that's alright? The Hufflepuff colors would be great to start with.." She paused realizing she actually hadn't caught the girls name, "Sorry can you tell me your name again? I'm really bad at remembering them." She felt bad honestly, but there hadn't been a day at Hogwarts where she hadn't met someone new and it could get confusing to remember people's names.

Willow's head came back up from her work when a third person approached, a girl from Slytherin this time. "Welcome! My name is Willow, we're happy to have you join us." She cut the colors Tyranni needed and knotted them up for her. "I'd be happy to help you, that's what I'm here for! You describe it and I can help you make it. Friendship bracelets are pretty repetitive once you get the main knots down."

She looked to the last boy who still hadn't picked out his colors. He seemed a little bit off, but maybe he was just having a bad day so she didn't want to rush him. As soon as he picked them out, seemingly taking a long time just to go with Slytherin colors she cut the appropriate amount for him. "Slytherin isn't that hard of a color scheme to pick out, but I appreciate the delicate thought you probably put into it." She nodded at him encouragingly, she hoped he would realize she was joking and not actually making fun of him.

She clapped her hands together excitedly, and also to get everyone's attention back to her. She handed out pieces of tape for everyone to attach their bracelets to the table in front of them. "Alright everyone! We're gonna get started. I have my own bracelet here so for those of you doing two-colors you'll be following what I do and then after the first couple steps it's the same all the way down until you knot it, so just let me know when you get there. For those of you doing multi-color or more advanced ones give me one second so I can show everyone else how to get started. Although, I do recommend starting with a beginner one if you haven't made one before." While she was still confident in what she was saying, she had to admit she was a little bit nervous to lead this. Her Hufflepuff one went great, but she was in her comfort zone there. She started to guide everyone through the steps slowly, pausing if anyone needed her help or had any questions.

The third year had been chosen the colors for two different bracelets he would made and if he assumed correct, they would be simple to make or at least he hoped so, because Willow mentioned it would not be too difficult. He stared at the arrangement of colors and wondered whether he should make more of them, for his other friends, because he had a few of those. But thinking about it, he could only think of a few people he would actually like to give them to as presents, so maybe he should wait on that. A sigh escaped his lips, as he pondered about this thought for a while, before visibly shaking his head and focusing on the threads he had already picked. Later on he could still decide to make other ones, but he really would like to make these now.

Alan smiled, when Ruka finally had made his decision as well and nodded slightly, as if he was approving of the choice of color. "It.. It's a nice color scheme...", he mumbled in approval, after even Willow had made a mention about the colors Ruka had picked. He wondered who Ruka would be making this bracelet for, but he assumed it would be for a Slytherin, based on the colors he had picked alone. He could be wrong though, so he did not want to make any assumptions without knowing.

When it finally got to the point of actually making the bracelets, Alan could not wait and happily took the piece of tape, that Willow handed out to them and taped the green and red combination to the table in front of him, before pressing his thumb against it, to make sure the tape would stick and hold the thread in place. Once he was satisfied he nodded and watched Willow and her further instructions. It was nice he would have a visual explanation as well, because he had troubles just following words.

He did his best to follow the steps as he had been explained, but for some reason it just did not want to work out the way he wanted it to. Whether it was because he often accidentally used the wrong thread to make the knot or the many times the attempt of a bracelet twisted and spiraled into a mess of yarn. With time Alan got a little frustrated, looking over to Ruka to see how the other kid was holding up, maybe he could teach him how to fix it, or re-start and make it better. Alan sat there, brows furrowed as he glared at the bracelet he was making. How could this be so difficult? It had looked so simple, when Willow had made them. To top it all off, even with him having made sure the tape was stuck to the table, the thread snapped out from below it, leaving him with a mess of knots and yarn in his hand. For a moment he could only stare at it, before looking up to Willow with a helpless expression.

As all the people joined into the group, Sam had managed to get even more anxious. Somehow, Willows casual compliment on the colors he chose calmed him down slightly. He took a moment to breathe. He reminded himself that it was for Johnathan. John would want Sam to socialize more anyways. So he took as much of his anxiety as he could (which wasn’t much) and tucked it deep down. “Oh uh- thank you. I’m planning on making matching ones for me and a friend back home.” He let a casual, yet forced, smile fall onto his face. He was fine. It’s just bracelet making, with people surrounding him, but they, for the most part, seemed nice. All he had to do was calm down. He was fine.
He looked down at the yarn in front of him. Bracelet making can’t be too hard. He and Johnathan had done it pretty well. Then again they were seven so his mother probably taught them the easiest thing…
When Willow started speaking to the entire group Sam made sure to pay attention, it kept his mind off the people around him. Then she started teaching the group how to make them, and Sam was doing surprisingly well, but then again he was paying close attention, has had some experience, and was using this as his only distraction from all of the anxious thoughts running through his head. He took a moment and looked around at the group taking it all in. He began to count the people around him, something he did often. So far the table consisted of two Gryffindors, two Slytherins, and two Hufflepuffs (not including himself).
Eventually he reached the end and that is when his small knowledge of bracelet making came in handy. He tied it off and smiled, looking over to Willow. “How does it look?”

Rolled 11 for Bracelet Success

Slightly lost in his thoughts, Ruka let Willow's voice rush past him as she talked to all the surrounding students, explaining about patterns and the difficulty of making these friendship bracelets. He busied himself with picking the colours for his own in the meanwhile instead, twirling threads around his fingers for a long while, even after Alan had already picked the colours for both his bracelets.

Once he had finally picked his colours and got them taped to the table, he looked up at Willow who had decided to out right address the fact that he was using a Slytherin colour scheme for his bracelet, and he could feel heat rising in his cheeks as he looked at her. "I just like green," he argued weakly to counter her assumption that he had put a lot of thought into the making of the bracelet.

He didn't even want to be here, so why would he put any thought into making this stupid thing?

With a low grumble he turned to glare at Alan when the other Gryffindor complimented his choice of colours as well. "It's just the first colours that caught my eye," he defended his choice against a non-existent criticism, wondering for a moment what he was getting so defensive about. Sometimes his own mind was a mystery to him.

Shaking his head off the thought he instead turned to focus on his threads, and on Willow to try and follow her instructions on how to make the bracelet.

The steps weren't too difficult to follow, and where Alan clearly seemed to struggle, Ruka managed to put together a decent looking bracelet by the end of it, the dark green contrasting the grey quite nicely, which... Only made it more obvious that he was using House Colours for it.

"Done," he announced weakly to Willow, eyes fixed on his bracelet. It definitely wasn't as neat and tidy as the ones the Hufflepuff girl was clearly skilled in making, but he had to admit that... for his first attempt he was quite happy with how it had turned out; There were no obvious knots where they shouldn't be, and while the colours got slightly mixed up here and there, it was still a bracelet and he couldn't really ask for much more than that. "So how do we close it up, then?"

Tyranni waited patiently for the girl, @Willow Anderson to finish showing the others how to make their bracelets, as she had chosen a more complicated pattern, but knowing how to crochet, she figured she would pick up the motions quickly.

There were so many pretty color combinations being chosen by many of the students, and there was a good number of students interested in getting a bracelet, or making one if they did not find one already pre-made that was to their liking. She watched one of the kids that was at the table choosing various shades of green. When he completed the bracelet, it reminded her of her house Slytherin colors. Aside from that, green was her absolute favorite color, so it was natural for her to be drawn to the bracelet. "I like the color choices and bracelet you made. You did a great job," she told the boy.

Watching the Hufflepuff girls hands weave together the bracelets with ease was as magical as when Tyr would sit and watch her grandmother Revna crochet all sorts of items, including blankets, scarfs, hats, sweaters, gloves, and whatever else you can think of that might be crocheted. It really was an art form, and Tyranni thought it was a great idea to help unite fellow students at Hogwarts in a manner that was unique and easily recognized should you see another student walking in the hall wearing a bracelet.

Willow was thrown off when Ruka seemed to vehemently deny that the colors he was using were Slytherin colors, maybe he had something against the house and suddenly she felt bad for commenting on his color scheme. She decided not to push it anymore and focused on weaving her own bracelet instead. After she finished giving the basic instructions and everyone seemed to be catching on her hands sped up and quickly finished off the bracelet so she could walk around and help the others at the table.

While the others were making their bracelets she moved to help Tyr begin on hers, "Beading can get complicated and weird but I think you'll do just fine." She quickly cut out the appropriate amount of string and grabbed her own beads to mirror it. She thought the easiest method to teach friendship bracelets was simply to show them how to make it, and have their hands follow so it settled into memory. "I appreciate you putting this effort into a bracelet for someone, I'm sure they'll love it and will feel how much love was put into it." She gently smiled at Tyr. For someone who made a ton of friendship bracelets, she had actually never received one and suddenly felt a pang of jealousy at everyone making bracelets for specific friends in mind. Willow quickly pushed the thought down, though if someone was watching they would see her smile falter and a sadness cross her face before returning to a happiness.

She looked back up from her work to see that Ruka had finished his as well as her fellow Hufflepuff. "Ah! Yours looks great Sam! You did amazing, you can tell that you used to make them." She smiled gently before turning to Ruka and Alan. "Ruka, you just have to tie the same knot that's at the top onto the bottom." She demonstrated on a few extra pieces of string how to do the simple knot. Finally she looked to see how Alan was doing and frowned slightly realizing that he definitely needed help and she completely missed it.

She got up and went over to see how she could save it, but while she was standing behind him her eyes widened. She had never seen a bracelet get messed up so badly. There was no way she could save it so as gently as possible she reached to grab him more thread. "Uh, maybe it would be best to start over... and I'll lead you through the steps." She sat down on the other side of him and smiled, "Friendship bracelets are more fun made with a friend anyway." This had quickly become a way more stressful event than intended, but she was having a good time amidst the chaos.

Alan glanced over to Ruka, when he talked to him and mentioned that those were the first colors that caught his eye. Alan blinked confused and just nodded, "I-It is st-still a good choice", he repeated genuinely. A light grin slipping into his features, as he could not help but think that it had taken Ruka a while to pick the colors. Those colors had been picked for a reason maybe? Alan's grin turned into a curious frown, but before he could really concentrate on figuring out the matter, he hushed and concentrated on his own bracelet... or what was left of it anyway.

Ruka seemed to be doing fine though, soon enough asking how to finish his bracelet and Alan couldn't help but glance over and be impressed. Why couldn't he be so good at it, as Ruka was? "Th-That looks a-amazing", he praised in a hushed whisper and nodded in acknowledgement. That was how he wanted his bracelet to look like as well, but apparently his was beyond repair.

When he turned back, he got a glance on Willow and wondered what was up with her. She looked like she saw a ghost... Alan quickly twisted his head around to see whether one of the Hogwarts ghosts actually were inside the Great Hall at the moment or if anything else could have caused the look of horror on her face but found nothing.

When she sat down next to him, he lightly smiled at her, a bit nervous. "A-Are you f-feeling okay, Willow?", he wondered and tilted his head ever so slightly to figure out what had been up with her just moments ago. However she looked fine now, so he probably just imagined it? He gladly took the thread she got for him, which was in the same tones that he had previously used, before he failed badly at actually making the bracelet. He nodded and with her guidance, he actually managed to achieve a decent result, making him smile excited, once he was done with making the last knot into the yarn.

"L-Look, Ruka! M-Mine is done now t-too!", he chirped as he showed the result to the second year. It obviously still was not the best result, but it was the best result he had been able to achieve and he hoped that this was just good enough! For him this bracelet was beautiful as he had spend a lot of time working on it. "Th-thank you f-for showing me how t-to make these!", he said, turning to look at Willow with a small grin gracing his face that made his eyes shine.

Ruka resigned himself to merely glare at both Willow and Alan for so unnecessarily calling out his colour choice as he worked on his bracelet as thoroughly as he could with as little experience as he had. 
He finished the bracelet in silence, forehead creased in a frown as he worked, tongue lightly poking out between his front teeth in concentration. 

His fingers were quick and nimble from years of perfecting pickpocketing tactics, but for some reason working a fine thread like this seemed ultimately harder than subtly fishing coins out of someone's pockets. Eventually he came down to the last knot, following Willow's instructions on finishing it with furrowed eyebrows.

Once he had a finished bracelet in his hands, he held it up in front of his face, smiling lightly at what he had made. Not that he would ever do anything with it, but... It was finished and it looked nice, and he could just... keep it close, maybe. 

As a good luck charm or something. 

Keep it in his pocket until someone came along who might want it.

He looked up, a little surprised when someone spoke to him who he didn't think he had talked to before; The girl who had spoken to Alan a little while ago. She, as well, decided to comment on the colours he had used, and Ruka grit his teeth begrudgingly as he looked over at the girl with a painfully forced smile on his face. "Thanks," he ground out, putting his bracelet back down on the table to maybe try and hide it from any other people who wanted to call Ruka out on his obvious colour scheme.

Thankfully, Alan's voice caught his attention again, and he looked over at the other boy with a small nod and a slightly pitying smile as he acknowledged the mess that the older Gryffindor had made of his bracelet. A small chuckle escaped him as Willow announced that not even she could fix whatever Alan had done to his thread, and Ruka watched in amusement as his peer restarted his work from scratch until finally coming up with a decent looking end result.

"Well done, Alan," he complimented with only a small drop of sarcasm in his voice. "You're a regular Bracelet Master now." He suppressed a little laugh as he rolled his eyes with slight fondness for the other boy. It was difficult to show any sort of frustration towards Alan; Useless too, considering the other Gryffindor didn't exactly seem like he even noticed when other people got frustrated with him.

With a little sigh, Ruka leaned back a bit, eyes focused on Alan as he waited for the Gryffindor to thank Willow for her help, before he leaned closer to the other boy. "Mind if I just... Go anywhere else?" he asked, not really wanting permission but simply not wanting Alan to feel abandoned should he just get up and leave. "I was hoping to get some things done today that are not, uh, Friendship Bracelet Making, I guess?"

She watched Willow show her the proper knotting techniques and when to place the beads to weave the bracelet out of nothing. It took a couple rounds before she felt confident, but quickly her fingers began to wriggle, placing different strings over others, other under, and pulling tightly to make knots.

"Thanks! I really appreciate the help! If you need to go help other, you can. I think I got the hang of this, but if I get confused I'll make sure to come to you." Tyranni smiled at the young Hufflepuff, relieved that this event was going smoothly and she was able to spend some time relaxing her mind from the stressors at school.

She continued to work, almost mindlessly except the silent counting in her head to keep the proper knot order in place. When the bracelet appeared to be approaching completion, she quickly placed it against her own wrist to gauge size, determining that a few more rounds were needed. Before completion, she made a knot that could fit over a button to latch the bracelet securely on any wrist.

Placing the bracelet on her wrist, she looked at it satisfied and proud of her work. It was not often that she felt comfortable engaging with other students, and this helped ease her mind that there were other students at the school who weren't focused on starting fights and proving their superiority.
