The Sorting ceremony 2017-2018
When Mary entered the Great Hall she could not believe what her eyes saw. The magical roof and the four tables already filled with older students, for her it was even better and greater than what was described to her and very different from what she had imagined. Even all the readings she did was not as exceptional as what she was experiencing now. Soon she will really be part of this world, by being sorted to one of the four houses. She really didn’t know where she would be sent, her father was in Slytherin but her mother in Ravenclaw, his brother followed the steps of their mother as he was in Ravenclaw but everyone was saying the little girl was just like her dad.
When she heard her name she made it up to the front of the group and climbed the few steps till the Sorting Hat. It was handed to her and she put it on her head.
“Hum, another Swan, I think your brother was there two or three years ago. And I remember your parents, you have a very talented mother, and your father was quite unique too.”
She was quite amazed about the memory of the Hat, she would have never believed he would remember her parents. And well it was nice hearing that about her parents, she just hoped she will not be a disappointment to them.
“ Where shall I send you, I see many qualities, kindness, loyalty, you are also willing to learn… I think I know it will be HUFFLEPUFF”
Mary put down the Sorting Hat and walked towards the table of her house and what will be her home for the next seven years. She was very happy with the Hat’s decision and was excited about discovering everything she could under her new colors.

The Sorting ceremony 2017-2018
They were waiting for their names to be called. Destrian was looking around him while someone was being sorted. He had never imagined the great hall to be this beautiful and magnificent. There were hundreds - no - thousands of candles floating above the four tables, each representing one house. There was a deep green, a dark blue, a crimson red and a golden yellow. The tables were stacked with endless rows of food and there were golden cups and plates. Everyone was watching the ceremony happen, he saw. Sometimes some people would whisper to each other, but the ceremony was never disturbed besides for the loud cheering whenever someone was sorted in a house. He only now noticed that, among the other students, ghosts sat with them. How interesting was that?
He turned his head to look towards the hatting ceremony of some boy. He was sorted into Gryffindor and the entire table was cheering for him. It was only now that he noticed that the hat had a mouth, a dark gap between leathery folds, through which he could actually talk. He couldn’t hold back the grin that appeared on his face when he noticed.
“Dayne, Destrian. Step forward.”
For a moment he felt himself becoming nervous, a feeling he didn’t often experience. There was a pressure for him to be sorted in Slytherin. His uncle had told him that everyone, since they had moved to London, was sorted in Slytherin and that it was the only worthy house. His lips were tight together as he stepped forward, climbed the steps and sat down. The hat was larger than he expected, and maybe even a little heavier. As it thought, it moved around. There was a long silence until he heard the voice in his ear mumbling something, until it finally spoke up more loudly. But Destrian wasn’t sure whether it actually spoke, or whether he was in his head.
“House Dayne of Germany, a line with a dark past if you’d ask me. I remember your parents.” the hat told him, but he didn’t continue rambling about his family. He was curious what he meant by ‘dark past’? He tried to let it go and focus on the voice again. “Should I put you in Slytherin, where who dwells are full of ambition, or Gryffindor, where the brave hearts lie? You’re brave, that’s for certain.. But you’d do anything to reach your goals.. Ambitious one, just like the rest of your family. Let’s see.. SLYTHERIN!”
Relief washed over him and a pride replaced his nerves. He took off the hat and put it back down on the stool. With a certain proud stride he headed for the table decorated with deep greens. The students clapped and congratulated him, like they did with every new student to their house. His uncle would be proud of him, Dayne knew.

The Sorting ceremony 2017-2018
Every second wearing her robes made her feel as if it wasn’t for her. ‘I’m not a witch. This is a mistake.’ Vee tells herself. It was exciting, nerve-wracking, and right now she’s really overwhelmed. She follows the crowd of first years, trying not to fall behind - she would be useless if she was suddenly left alone. It was a big crowd, and to know that she’s probably not the only one feeling this was what slightly comforting. It also helped to have meet a few of them on the train. But it was still a big change, much she doesn’t know nor understand. It was still all too much. She rubbed her fingers, a habit she developed in a few years, anxious she’d blow something up because she was panicking. She didn’t want to make a scene and took a few deep breaths to relax.
They were led to a bigger hall, the ceiling reflected the night sky with candles floating above our heads. It was nearly enough for her to forget about her anxiousness. Her mother mentioned being sorted into which house will keep you during your stay. She mentioned being in Hufflepuff but made no other explanation. Hoping to be prepared, she read about the sorting ceremony when she got her books - it was the only guide she has. A person donning blue robes makes his way to the center of what seems to be a platform. He gives a few words and the sorting begins. It takes a while before her name was called and she doesn’t know if she was grateful for that or not.
“Venice Smith.” She jumps as she was called and forces her legs to walk to the chair. ‘Get yourself together.’ She says to herself. She wondered why this ceremony takes place in front of everyone else - sitting there, no one else hearing the hat until he decides where to put you. She continues rubbing her hands as the hat falls on her face. She was small enough that it fell just above her nose. At least she wouldn’t see anyone else while this is happening.
“The Badger and the Lion,” the hat suddenly says in her head. “The Lion’s blood runs strong in your family, I see.” Vee wondered if the hat always said things that they couldn’t understand. She knows nothing of her mother’s family and thought nothing of it.
“I see confusion in you, child. You are a witch, else you will not be here. No matter, this house will help you remember. You will be in RAVENCLAW.”
She gently pushes the hat off her head and quietly walks to the table full of people with robes lined with blue.

The Sorting ceremony 2017-2018
Ike nervously waited for his turn. It felt like an eternity. Sweat beaded down his forehead as he waited. The feeling was very alien to him. While it didn’t matter to him WHICH house he was sorted into, the thought of being in front of thousands of people daunted the young boy a bit. He wasn’t used to the attention, but yet…something in him steeled his resolve. He remembered what his dad used to tell him- about being a man. That he had obligations. That he couldn’t let his mom down. And so, he contained the fear. Drove it into the recesses of his mind.
He’d own this moment. He had this in the bag. Courage was not the absence of fear- it was the ability to act in spite of it.
“Isaiah James Corbec.”
The boy took a confident step forward, sapphire eyes scanning ahead as he walked to the chair, sat down, and the sorting hat was placed upon his head.
“Ah! The bravest one yet! Reckless, but in time, I’m sure that’ll settle. This one’s easy. You belong in Gryffindor!”
A smile of relief washed over him as the hat was lifted off his head and he went down to meet his newfound family in the group of Gryffindor students.

The Sorting ceremony 2017-2018
When it came to a certain Wynne's turn to be up at the hat, it sent a maddening pang of anxiety down the poor girl's body, nervously rising to the stands of where the Sorting Hat was. The poor girl didn't know what to feel, and what to even do once the hat goes and sort her into her own house. She did know that her family (almost like a set religion) always seem to fall in the house of Ravenclaw or even Slytherin at times.
But whenever a family member was set in the Slytherin house, they always bum down into being one of the bad members of her family when it came to dark magic. Of course, adults would point out that the house is only just a house and not everyone who comes out of the Slytherin house is suddenly turned into a mold of what was once human, but no longer under certain moral principles.
But for Helle Wynne, she was nervous out of her whits' end due to the stories she hear about her own family members and even on He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. For if she goes under through the house that is known in her family as a curse, she would consider herself doomed.
For what Helle learned of her parents, she knew her father came from the house of Ravenclaw while her mother from Slytherin. Helle saw this as a probability of what she would receive. She say she has a fifty-fifty chance of being doomed. And as the Sorting Hat was placed on her head, she turned into more of a mess of anxiety more than she was in before the hat was placed onto her, and her poor mind was in a jamble.
The hat was instantly in awe before speaking to her, "My heaven's child, calm down!" And with those words, Helle's mind went blank, shaking quietly in her seat. The hat ran through her mind, questioning her anxiousness. "Goodness, now I see why you're so scared to death. Your parents are that of Slytherin and Ravenclaw, but you hear terrible stories on the Slytherin house? Oh, you poor thing, shaking in your heels like that. Now..."
Helle flinched in her seat, sitting still as she looked out to the crowd of students who were either chatting away with friends or watching without much care. Most were talking away with friends. She whimpered out nervously as she watched people in the seats below who already have friends. Helle didn't really have any magical friends. Her father and aunt just set her around muggles to understand the real world mostly. "Ah, fear of being alone? Fear of not being accepted? That's a rather Ravenclaw thing to do! Your intelligence is par as well, and heavens, the originality-!" The Sorting Hat cried out.
"Hey, no need to be nervous now. Everything will be fine, no matter what house you're in. You choose your own path. Either you walk down the path of your evil family members, or you be your own person, now- Ahem, either way, you're-"
Helle squeezed her eyes shut in fear of the answer, but feeling rather...comforted, by the Sorting Hat's words. If it wasn't just an object, she would've considered it something to look up to for care of her while she was in Hogwarts. She heard the Sorting Hat make a offended quip of a sound. "Sorry..." She spoke out, apologizing for her rude remark on the hat itself.
"RAVENCLAW!"
And that was all that was needed to cure Helle's anxiety, breathing out a heavy relief and thanking the hat greatly for possibly saving her a long time of grief for her and her surviving family members. She couldn't afford to go back home to her father and aunt with the cloud of being in the Slytherin house. For when Helle allowed the hat to be taken off of herself, she went along over to the Ravenclaw table, watching people at the table looking obviously intelligent and different from others. She took a breath, this was going to be her life in Hogwarts from now on, she noted.

A little late
Arceus walked into the great hall, feeling nervous and was instantly taken aback by all the commotion that was going on around him. He saw four large tables all filled with happy students and he guessed that those were the four house tables, But the real thing that made him stare in awe was the roof, it looked exactly like a night sky and a handful of lit candles floated around.
Now, to be honest he hadn't really thought about which house he wanted to be into but as long as he made some new friends he would be happy. He stood in the giant crowd of other first years and waited for his name to be called and after quite a long wait he heard a professor call out "Arceus Powers!" in a booming voice.
He quickly walked up the few stairs and sat down on the stool, he felt the heavy sorting hat being placed on his head and waited, not daring to breath "Hmm.. interesting a feel a great sense of loyalty, and care you might be good in Gryffindor but I'll have to go with.. Hufflepuff!" He got up quietly and sat down at the Hufflepuff table which was still cheering loudly. I think this will be a fun 6 years he thought to himself as he waved at his fellow Hufflepuff's who were now all patting him and greeting him with big smiles.
Have a nice day and peace out..

The Sorting ceremony 2017-2018
Leana Lee had been dazing around the Great Hall in nothing but pure awe. There was magic and then there was magic. And this hall definitely belonged in the last category. The female was dying to explore every little nook and cranny of the room but she figured now was not the time to be snooping around. Yet it were those thoughts that kept the female calm. If she would not wander off in her mind she would for sure run away from the amount of people within in the hall. She did everything she could to distract herself from the inevitable. To walk up in front of all these people, to stand before them to be sorted, to find out where she belonged.
And that was the real question for even to Leana, that was a mystery. None of the Houses seemed to call out to her. In all honesty, the female just wished to be home. And then the time was there. Her name was called out. Taking a deep breath she forced herself to remain calm. Her fast heart beat only increased its pace as she stepped forward. It was one more step until the stool when the female's every so clumsy nature got the better of her. Her feet got caught in her robe causing her to trip and almost smashing her face into the wooden stool. Luckily, it wasn't the first time for the female to fall over and her reflexes made it possible for her to quickly roll mid air, landing on her rear right in front of the cursed seat.
Her cheeks darkened, a bright red colour flushed over her face as she quickly got up and sat down on the stool. She felt the weight as the sorting hat was placed on her head and for a moment she held her breath. "A silly child you are, aren't you?" A voice said quietly. "Tell me something I don't know." The female would grumble back. Whatever nerves she felt had long passed and instead she felt as if she was conversing with an old friend.
"You're a tough one, Leana Lee. There is a bit of all in you, but not enough of one to have me call out a House. You'd do well in Hufflepuff for within you there is loyalty and kindness. Yet I feel you will thrive more if placed within Gryffindor. Hmm... Decisions, decisions." For a moment Leana felt her heart stop, as if she was afraid. Afraid she would be placed somewhere she doesn't belong, afraid she wouldn't belong no matter where she was placed. But she shook her head. It did not matter, come what may she would stay strong. She would do her best and she would-... "GRYFFINDOR!!"
The female rolled her eyes as the sorting hat rudely interrupted her thoughts but quickly stood up from the stool, grateful to be able to leave the platform, and made her way to the table where the students were clothed in red.

The Sorting ceremony 2017-2018
Kaiser walked down the hall with the rest of the group, as he looked around he was amazed to see the huge amount of students in the school, he already knew Howard was the best and most attended school of all the UK, but even knowing that the amount of students has greater than he anticipated. Not only that, the castle itself was really amazing, he had been fascinated by it since he got there, it was surprisingly big, at least ten times bigger than the castle of his family and all about it was just as amazing as this hall.
As the sorting ceremony begun he could see the faces of all those who like him would be sorted today, some were nervous, others excited, some even seem afraid, others were harder to tell what they were feeling but one thing was for sure, all of them, including himself, were looking forward to their turn to be sorted. Kaiser took his time to look at the different tables, there were the Slytherins, Gryffindors, Ravenclaws and Hufflepuffs, for what he knew they were all great houses, though his family had got members in all houses at some point, the past few decades they got mostly sorted in Gryffindor or Slytherin, despite the bad reputation the latter was famous for he could vouch, at least in his experience from his family that not all Slytherins were bad people. Gryffindor and Hufflepuff were more common in his family according to what his grandfather once told him, he even claimed that the best trainers came from Hufflepuff, though he might have been a little bias as he was himself a Hufflepuff. The odd one was really Ravenclaw, despite its prestige, his family hadn't had many members in the house of the eagle, the last one was about 400 to 500 years ago and thus it was the one he was more curious about.
Drakenfang! He heard his name being called, actually only his surname but knowing none of his cousins were joining this year, they would not be joining for some more years really, he knew it had to be him. Kaiser walked through the group in between "excuse me"s and "sorry"s and as he got to the front he sat on the stool excited. "Aaah a Drakenfang! It's been a while since one of you came here, I take it you are the eldest of the next generation of your family?" the hat spoke with intrigue "the eldest to study in this country at least" the boy answered, he had a couple cousins outside of the UK that were studying in other schools though he didn't know we're. "Aaah good, good, so what would it be mister Drakenfang? Will you be joining the Slytherins? Your family is pure blooded after all... No, you have what it takes to join them but it seems you might not be reaching your potential there, maybe Gryffindor? You show many traits if them as well, and wouldn't be the first Drakenfang there..." Kaiser heard the hat, only replying in his mind, hoping th hat would take that into account "No, I see it now, the house you'll be more suited is RAVENCLAW!" it finished with a loud shout. Kaiser smiled and as the hat was taken off him he walked to the table that cheered the most to meet his future housemates.

The Sorting ceremony 2017-2018
Oh gosh, oh gosh, oh gosh. It was barely a few minutes into the ceremony and already Conrad felt exceptionally nervous. Could he do this? He wasn't sure. It felt like his heart was about to leap out of his chest! All the other first years were walking up and taking a seat on the stool, where a talking hat (a talking hat! That was so cool) would be placed on their head and call out a house name. It didn't seem that hard but Conrad couldn't help but think that maybe there had been a mistake. Maybe he wasn't a wizard after all, and when he placed that hat on his head it would announce that to the whole school and he'd have to go back home and attend normal school. Now that he knew magic existed, he didn't want to go back to normal school! He wanted to learn all he could at Hogwarts and become the best wizard ever, not become a stupid banker like his father. If he was forced to leave, he wouldn't be able to learn any magic and that just wasn't acceptable. So, needless to say, he was super duper nervous waiting his turn, although he probably didn't look it. The only physical manifestation of his apprehension, was the almost imperceptibly obsessive manner of smoothing invisible wrinkles out of his robes.
Conrad had grown up with normal human parents, or 'muggles', as his godmother had informed him they were called. So until recently, he hadn't even realized magic or those who performed it existed, until he received a letter from the school on his eleventh birthday. Luckily his birthday had been in April, so it had given his father, whom he lived with, and himself, plenty of time to get over the shock. Also just as lucky, it turned out his father's best friend, and Conrad's godmother, turned out to be a witch as well! She gave Conrad a quick lesson on all things in the wizarding community, and even went with him and his father to get all the supplies he had needed. While he generally had a good memory, there was a lot Isla had told him at once, and he struggled to remember all of it. She had mentioned something about all of the Hogwarts houses, Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Slytherin, but he wasn't sure what they meant. At least the talking hat had cleared that up in the beginning. Now Conrad just wasn't sure which house he wanted to be in more.
He didn't have very long to contemplate it however, before his name was called. "Harris, Conrad."
He gulped, smoothed his robes out one more time, before walking up and taking a seat at the stool. Once the hat was on his head, he jumped a little at how loud it sounded. "Hmmm... quite a complicated one I see. The demeanor of a Hufflepuff, but... no. And definitely not a Gryffindor." It paused for a moment before continuing, "You've got quite the ambition, you'd do well in Slytherin... Yet at your core, I think you'd have to be a... RAVENCLAW!!"
With that, Conrad stood as quickly as possible, and made his way to the table that was clapping and making a bit show.

The Sorting ceremony 2017-2018
Calm down..there's no one here to impress..
No parents peering over your shoulders to make the right choice..
You'll be fine just wait until they call your--
"Styder Nixx. . ."

"Styder Nixx. . ."
--Name. Taking a deep breath Styder approached the stool and settled upon it. The old magic hat was placed upon his head no sooner than he had gotten properly comfortable. He was unsure how to feel about the sorting ceremony at all. Styder knew he didn't belong in his parents house, Ravenclaw. Even with the extensive studying they had him do at home he knew he didn't pick up things as quickly. It took him more time than he cared to admit but he could never let them see that. No they expected so much from their first born.
Ah but no one's expecting you to be anything but yourself here. If you believe Ravenclaw is not for you then you shall not go there. But where..where to put you.

The voice nearly made Styder jump, his hands gripping the sides of the wooden stool out of shock. He knew the hat could talk but he didn't know the voice would resound inside his head. Styder's blue eyes trailed over the four tables, observing the groups of students both his same age and older. Among them he saw potential friends no matter which house he got placed in.
Well then...better be...SLYTHERIN.
Well then...better be...SLYTHERIN.
The reveal was a surprise to him but he found he quite liked the choice. Slowly rising to his feet he ushered his way towards the table where his peers sat. A Slytherin..Styder Nixx was a Slytherin.
