The Hufflepuff Table 2018-2019
Cynthia had an awesome summer holiday. Although she was sad that it was over, she was glad to be back at Hogwarts for her second year of learning magic. She hoped this year would be just as fun as last year. During the summer holiday, she was able to visit with her parents while they were at work at the Ministry of Magic. Other days had found her busy in the potions lab at home. She had been busy brewing several potions to replenish their personal supply. Other days found her outside gathering precious potion ingredients that grew around the grounds of her home.
Now that Cynthia was back at Hogwarts, she focused on her schoolwork. She had just finished watching all the new nervous first-year students go through the Sorting Ceremony to be sorted into their new houses. She remembered being a bit nervous herself when she went through the ceremony. She smiled as each new student took their place with their new house. Cynthia warmly welcomed the new Hufflepuffs and hoped to make some new friends. She also hoped to catch up with the good friends she had made last year. For now, she enjoyed the Welcoming Feast and looked forward to the future.

Miko looked around and adjusted his robes a bit and grabbed a book. The book he was going to read very soon was titled "Hogwarts A History" which most people would be familiar with the book since it was on the supply list along with the accepting letter for Hogwarts. The boy opened the book and pretended to read, instead observing other people's conversations. A bit creepy, right? Not for Miko, for him this was a normal activity since he was a good observer and it came to him naturally.
Quickly, he glanced at the three girls closest to him and back at the book attempting to be sneaky about it. He ran his fingers through his hair whilst pulling it out of his eyes, seemingly frustrated. Although it looked as if he was stressed, he wasn't, he was merely thinking about his dad and step-dad in his own world. Of course he missed them, who didn't miss their parents from time to time? But mainly he missed hanging out with the dragons his dad took care of, that was fun. Miko also missed playing his guitar for his brother and fathers, they always loved it.
The young Hufflepuff grabbed a chicken leg and nibbled at it, his eyes widening. "Bloody hell, this is the best chicken I have ever tasted!" he said, barely able to be understood with his extremely thick Scottish accent.

"Yeah, you looked lonely and wanted to ask a question so I answerd." Amber shrugged as she answered the girl who was confused on who Amber ment. "You know no onw has asked me that question abou blueberry pancakes before but it is a good one." Amber chuckled a little at he girls peculier question as she continued "However I will answer it to the best of my ability. I have always thought that orange juice and bluberry pancakes mix well, but milk is always a favorite of mine." Amber smiled as she grabbed a glass of orange juice and a glass of milk off the table so the girl could choose between them.
The girl then introdused herself as being named Millicent or Milli as Amber reache out and grabbed another peice of salmon. "It's nice to meet you Millie! I'm Amber, but you can call me whatever you want." Amber grabbed a bottle of malt viniger and poured some on her salmon and then proceaded to dreanch it. "Want some salmon? It's really good with malt viniger." Amber offered Milli a peice and some malt viniger as she munched on the peice that she had. "If you don't mind me asking, whats your favorite book? Mine is A Stolen Kingdom. It's about a prince who doesn't know hes a prince because his unkle murdered his mom when he was a baby to take over the kingdom. A village couple then adopts him and saves him from his unkle and then raises him in another country. Then they tell him the truth about his past and he goes on a quest to save his kingdom"
"Wait I just realized something." Amber reached into her pocket and pulled out a fairly large book "I actually have the book here. If you want to borrow it you can" Amber held out the book and offered it to Milli so she could read it if she wanted.

The Hufflepuff Table 2018-2019
[ Miko Limof ]
Arran entered the Great Hall with his hands stuffed in his pockets, his blonde hair tossled to the side, and his robes not even on properly. He was glad he wasn't short as most of the other first years, excluding the lovely ladies. He grinned at a girl he caught staring at him and watched her turn red, which made him laugh.
He was a Hufflepuff, which was cool but no one else in his family was one, so he was pretty sure he was in the wrong House. Almost every one of his relatives was a Gryffindor, except for his older cousin who graduated as a Ravenclaw and his great-grandfather, who also had been a Hufflepuff, but no one spoke of him.
Hopefully that same silent treatment wouldn't happen to Arran, but he was going to play his cards nicely and not act as rowdy as he did back home, where he got into loads of trouble.
As he neared his House table, he slowed his pace to think between sitting with either the troublemakers, the cute girls, or a kid he thinks he remembered seeing on the train. The guy had a book in his hand, one of the study books and possibly Arran's least favorite subject, and he was beginning to eat his meal already. Arran figured it would be decent of him to get to know his fellow Hufflepuffs so he figured he could add this one as an aquaintence.
Arran plopped into the seat next to the guy and twittled his fingers as he decided on what to eat. "Hmm, I think I'll just get a bit of everything," he said, not really to anyone. Piling up food of many varieties on the small plate, Arran glanced at the boy's book and said, "Is that book any good? I barely looked at the titles as I bought them in Diagon."

The Hufflepuff Table 2018-2019
Milli just stared at Amber. She took the book and held it gently. She slipped in her school bag for safekeeping and looking at the drinks. She hesitantly reached for the glass of orange juice and took a sip. Humming with delight she kept drinking. Halfway through with her glass she set it down.
"Thank you for the book...i'll keep it safe," Milli nids determinedly, "My favorite book is a series called Eragon, it's about a young boy dropped off at his aunt and uncles house to be protected. His mother having been killed not long after, and his father watching from afar. He finds a dragon egg in the woods and goes on quests with the dragon. It's my favorite. "
Milli has this dreamy smile on her face while speaking about it. Her smile small but no less pretty, a kind of shy smile for her. While looking at the salmon she frowns a little and mumbles, "I've never had salmon before." She looks at Amber from beneath her bangs she decided to wear today. "You want to be my friend?" Milli asks quietly while fiddling with her skirt. With it being knee length it didn't ruffle it at all.

"Er, well if you like history I highly recommend this book it's pretty good." he answered. "By the way, we haven't seemed to have a proper introduction. Ello mate, you can address me as Miko although I am open to any nicknames but Miko shouldn't be too difficult to call me." Miko stated, not making eye contact with the other boy.
He too had the most of his family as Gryffindors, except for his great uncle Benjamin which graduated as a well-known Ravenclaw and his cousin who is in Slytherin somehow but nobody really speaks of him since he's a Slytherin. At last he had found someone who was a bit similar to himself, that was a plus side.
The boy looked at Arran up and down and thought, Finally I'm taller than someone, that's a plus side to socializing I guess.. It was true he was taller than him but that didn't matter much it just interested Miko since normally other boys were as tall as him or a bit taller. He felt like someone was watching him so he looked around and saw a girl sitting at the Slytherin table staring at him. Miko looked a bit blankly at her then turned back to Arran awkwardly.

Arran stopped mid-chew to glance at the book and then shook his head solemnly. "I particularly hate anything to do with history. I would never repeat any of the dumb things people have done way back in Merlin-times." He drank from his goblet with his pinky out and smacked his lips loudly.
"I'm Arran, but you can call me Arran, whichever suits you better." He noticed that Miko was taller than him but it didn't bother him really, it was just a strange sight; most eleven year olds like him were shorter but everyone grew at different heights at different ages.
"I prefer pretty much anything else over learning about the past. I want to learn about that beasts class, and maybe how to duel. Oh, and I'm definitely going to try out for Qudditch. Being up in the sky hurling balls is my true calling." Arran noticed that Miko was looking at something, or someone, that wasn't at their table. Glancing over, he noticed a Slytherin girl staring right at the Hufflepuff.
"Hm, I see you've caught a pretty eye in this room," chuckled Arran, watching the girl watch Miko in amusement. He placed a hand on his shoulder and grinned, seeing his discomfort. "Why don't you go say hullo to her? Who knows...or would you rather I go do it?"

The Hufflepuff Table 2018-2019
Approaching the table, David nervously sat down in a vacant seat nearby the the two boys. The noise in the hall was deafening compared to the normal school cafeteria's he was used to. It seemed like there were thousands of students packed into the Great Hall, which ghosts flitting about through the tables as he watched, still scarcely able to believe that what he was seeing was real.
Scanning the table, he considered the position he was in. He didn't know much about the four houses. His mother had been in Ravenclaw and she had said that he would probably be put into Ravenclaw as well. As he understood, Ravenclaw was a house centered around being perceived as smarter than the other 3 houses, something he wasn't really comfortable labeling himself as. Doing some homework and reading some books doesn't make someone smarter it just means their reliable.
Hufflepuff was apparently the hard working house, which he guessed fit him better. He did his best in school to make sure everything was done and done well. He also didn't really want any kind of reputation that the other three houses seemed to be known for. He just wanted to survive his time at Hogwarts without blowing himself up mid-spell.
He fumbled around in his belongings before producing his own copy of Hogwarts: A History. It was the most detailed guide to what each of the houses were like, even if he didn't really get a lot of the words and terms they used. The book had clearly been written with the idea that the reader would be more familiar with the magical world than David was himself.
While turning to the page describing Helga Hufflepuff and the house she founded, he peeked over at what the other two boys were doing. It appeared like they were gesturing about a girl at another table and he guessed it was like the schoolyard crushes he saw on the playground. Liking someone like that seemed like the lowest possible concern for him, but he assumed that kids that had grown up around magic probably weren't losing their minds like he felt he was.

Evie sat down at the long table. She had seen some newcomers already, and she was excited to meet them. She looked around, noticing at least one or two new badgers. While scanning the table for her favorite foods, she came across a lovely dish of mashed potatoes. While digging in, she noticed a boy fairly close to where she was sitting. "Uhh hi? Are you going to eat, or are you going to dig in to the lovely food provided by the kitchen elves?"Reducio(David Moore)
Evie said cheerfully, as she noticed he was reading.
Ugh, people need to realized that food is amazing. Evelyn looked around again, the room was full of hungry students. Evie looked at her mashed potatoes, and started to scoop them up. Looking again at the new badger, Evelyn decided to speak again, "What's your name, mine's Evelyn, but my friends call me Evie. I am so glad you joined us in Hufflepuff!" Evie liked newcomers, because they didn't know her, it was like starting with a clean record. Not that Evie had done anything wrong.
No, the only thing she had gotten called out for was being too friendly. I mean, what does that mean? Too nice? You can't be too nice, you can be too mean, though. I guess she is just too outgoing for the liking of some. Ahh well, you can't have everyone like you, as Evie had recently learned. Looking around the hall again, Evie stared at the surrounding tables. What would of happened if she was sorted into another house, she would never know. But she did know this; she was happy in Hufflepuff, and honestly, it suits her. I mean, you can't really have someone thats this happy in Slytherin. Yeah, Hufflepuff was made for Evie, or rather, Evie was made for Hufflepuff.

David peeked at the boys for a few more seconds before he heard a nearby voice and was snapped out of his trance. He looked over and caught Evie as she finished her sentence.
"Dig in? Oh, uh. Yeah. Of course," David said. He looked over at the seemingly infinite number of options before him. Truth be told, he was pretty apprehensive. The food had kind of just appeared there in front of them with no explanation. "Wait? House Elves?" He muttered aloud. His eyes darted back and forth. House Elves were a type of magical creature that Hogwarts had in the castle. So they were in charge of cooking? Could House Elves cook? For People? The food looked pretty normal.
He closed his book and set it beside him, not wanting to stain it while eating. He reached forward towards a succulent slice ham and added some to his plate. Looking around, he added some roasted carrots and mashed potatoes of his own before pulling the plate close to him. It smelled pretty normal and there wasn't anything that looked wrong about it. Taking his fork and knife, he cut into his slice of ham, watching as some of the juices were squeezed out under the pressure. He speared the piece and raised it to his mouth, taking a careful bite.
It was actually pretty good. Great even. It had been cooked to absolute perfection. Even his mother's ham wasn't this good, and she had probably also used magic to make it. He looed back over at the girl that had sat near him when she had started speaking to him.
"Oh, I'm David. David Moore. But it's just David, no nickname or anything," That wasn't quite true. His mother would call him Davey, a nickname he wasn't really a fan of, but she only said it around the family so he was willing to put up with it at the time. "It's nice to meet you. Have you been a Hufflepuff for very long? I'm not really sure what the big reason is I ended up here any not in one of the other houses." He turned back to his food and began eating again while awaiting her response, his heart racing from the anxiety.
