Before she'd arrived at the towering stone walled school Marie had often badgered her mother for stories of her days as a student, which she eventually begrudgingly told her about, but none of those had prepared Marie for the true magnificence before her. The great archways, the menacing gargoyles and lively pictures - quite literally- it was all she'd ever dreamed of and more. This is it, she thought to herself with bubbling excitement as the grand wooden doors opened before her group to usher in the new arrival of students into the great hall.

While she did her best to mingle into the group of black-clad students around her it was an effort spent mostly in vain due to her height which placed her a good few inches above most her classmates. As their group came to a halt, Marie who'd been too wrapped up in her own thoughts nearly toppled into the robed student in front to her, startling her from her daydreaming so that she could pay attention to the teacher as they lined the groups up.

The woman who introduced the sorting hat was one of considerable age, her face being a map of lines that told the tale of her aging. As the names started to be rattled off the list one by one, Marie couldn't help but take a moment to glance around at all the other tables that were filled with Hogwarts upperclassmen. One table caught her eye in particular though, each student dressed in golds and crimson, Gryffindor. Out of all the houses that was the one this young wizard so desperately wished to get into.

"Marie Emerson." The crone beckoned, shaking her from her reverie.

Taking a purposeful step forward, Marie marched towards where the hat awaited to be placed upon her crown. She was confident she'd get into Gryffindor, she was brave and smart, she had all the aspects of a great student, there was no way the hat could deny her when she was already this determined. As she stepped onto the small stage and turned to take her seat upon the stool she could see the eyes gazing at her, each house equally interested to see just whose new member she would be. There is no question though, she thought as she looked back at the Gryffindor table, the hat descending onto her head, I know where I belong.

"Ah!", the ancient hat exclaimed, suddenly coming to life and swaying slightly to the side as if in thought. "It's been a while since I've seen a Greymark." it mused and Marie couldn't help but cut it off indignantly, "I am not a Greymark.", she hissed under her breath and immediately felt sorry for her sudden lapse of composure, fearing it might make the hat's judgement sway. "Oh but you are, I could tell immediately, you have your mother's strong-mindedness."

"Hmm, but you have a certain hunger for knowledge about you, perhaps Ravenclaw… No, no. Hmmm.. Ah! Yes, I know exactly where you belong!" It exclaimed suddenly after a long moment of pondering, so long in fact Marie had started to grow worried since many of the other students had been sorted so quickly. However, as he made that exclamation she felt the weight drop off her chest, eyes scanning back over to the Gryffindor table. Yes, this was exactly the moment she was waiting for.

Slytherin!

She could imagine the color from her face mostly likely drained in that moment as the table to her right erupted with cheers, calling her over to join her green-clad housemates. There's no way this is right, she thought dubiously as she stepped off the stage, giving one last skeptical look at the sorting hat before she joined her new house at their table. Despite her skepticism though Marie was determined to become a great witch, even if she wasn't in the house she wished, and so after one sour minute she let go of her doubt and nodded to herself with the slightest smile. okay, she thought towards the hat, I'll make this work.

Reaper had gotten off of the train when it arrived at the station and started to fallow his fellow classmates. In a short time they had entered Hogwarts and were led to a Gerate hall which had an enchanted ceiling that looked like the night sky which also had floating candles. Once inside the Gerate hall the students then stopped at the front of the hall which had a stool placed in the dead center of a platform that had steps.

After the teacher that led the students here left the Headmaster started his speech. During the speech an old looking hat was placed on the stool which caught Reaper's attention which made him tune out the Headmaster. "What a weird looking hat" Reaper thought to himself just as the Hat started to sing a song about four houses that reside in Hogwarts. Reaper could care less about which house he was placed in all he cared about was finding out who he was.

Once the Hat was done singing the sorting ceremony began as students one by one were being sorted to their respective houses which would be their family for the time here at Hogwarts. Reaper watched what was going on with his crimson colored eyes as the large group of first years started to get smaller as more and more were getting placed by the Sortting Hat.

While this was going on Reaper had become lost in thought which caused him to loose track of the ceremony that was going on which Reaper didn't notice that it was his turn to be sorted until the professor read his name from the list of first years.

"Reaper Suzaku" the teacher said in a loud voice which snapped Reaper back to reality he then quietly started to make his way to where the Sorting hat was once their he picked up the hat and then sat down on the stool and placed the hat on his head.

"Ah another Suzaku it's been awhile since I've sorted your kind, your mother and father were quite an interesting bunch your mother had multiple quality so it was hard placing her but in the end her bravery put her in Gryffindor, Now your father on the other hand wound up in Slytherin" The Sorting Hat went on about his family until he then realized he had forgotten that Reaper still hadn't been sorted yet. "Sorry for rambling now let's see here very interesting indeed, you have interesting qualities that could make you a strong canadite for two houses" now this started to interest Reaper though he knew not why which caused the Hat to chuckle. "seems like I've peeked your interest now about the two houses the first set of traites one of them is that you can be gerate and you Slytherin can help you there and also there's one other thing forget about Slytherin you wouldn't do well there your courage and bravery are much stronger the house you will do well in" Reaper was starting to get annoyed now it felt like he'd been here for an eternity now But soon he hurt the that's voice again which was louder now.

"The house will be GRYFFINDOR" the Sorting hat said loudly soon the whole room was filled with loud applause from the Gryffindor table as the Hat was removed from Reaper's head and he then quietly walked over to the table of his new home.

When Cecilia Moore's name was called, she started. She knew her name would be soon, one of the other M's had just been called! Why was she so dumb?! Starting again, she hurried up the steps to the Sorting Hat, avoiding eye contact with anyone who might be nearby. Her hands twitched, aching to fiddle with something to distract her from her nervousness. Wait! Did she forget her worry stone at home?!

Cecilia was so overcome with her own thoughts that she barely noticed the Hat being placed upon her head, until it bellowed its thoughts.

"Ah, a Moore! Has there been a family member here? It was so long ago! Where to put you, where to put you..."

Her eyes widened in shock. Auntie Alisa had said it could talk, but she didn't truly believe it, until now! How does it work? What's the magic behind it?

"Not much for talking, but a thinker is what you are! And so unaware.."

She quickly nodded her head. Her aunt had been a Ravenclaw, and that they were considered the smart ones. Cecilia wasn't sure if she was smart, but she liked reading, did that count?

"Yes, yes it does. Ravenclaw!"

The Sorting Hat was removed from her head, and she rose to the sound of cheers from the Ravenclaw table. Approaching it, she let a shy smile show, her fingers relaxing for the first time since arriving.

"So which house do you think you'll be put into?"

It was expected for students to remain respectfully quiet while the sorting hat worked its way one-by-one through the newest group of first-years. But in every class there would always be those who couldn't resist the urge to whisper to eat other as they waited anxiously for their name to be called. One such group of students was huddled together at the back, leaning towards each other ever so slightly and trying (but failing) not to look like they were talking. Chance had brought them to sit in the same cabin on the Hogwarts Express, and that brief encounter had been enough to sway them to stick together throughout the first day. Everyone needed moral support, especially on a day like today.

Among that group there was one who looked a little bit... different... from the rest. It wasn't that any of his physical traits were anything unusual; his spiked, messy blonde hair was the style fairly familiar among upper-year Slytherins, and his sandy white skin and generic brown eyes were nothing to write home about. No, what was different about him way the way he held himself in an odd, unbalanced manner, as if he might be about to fall over at any minute. It was the way his eyes were opened just a bit too wide and searched the room a bit too keenly, reflecting some unidentifiable emotion behind them. If the eyes were the windows to the soul then these eyes were like old funhouse mirrors: reflecting some distorted version of the word and just a little bit cracked around the edges.

This student's name was Tio Kyber.

"Hmm... Hufflepuff." He replied, his tone wavering with amusement ever so slightly. "I can picture myself mauling people who dare to steal my honey."

The student who'd first spoken, a brown haired, straight-laced looking boy with glasses, looked at him oddly. "That's... not what Hufflepuff's do."

Tio raised an eyebrow and looked at him curiously. "Isn't it? I though they were the house of brutality?"

"No! Not at all! They're the house of kindness and loyalty! Why would you think that!"

"Mostly because of the bear. Bears are savage. Are you sure?"

"Yes I'm sure! Didn't you read the book on the history of Hogwarts?"

Tio looked away guiltily. "I may have... skimmed it..."

"Unbelievable..." The other boy huffed. "Well at least we can be sure you aren't a Ravenclaw."

"I dunno... I can see myself pecking people's eyes out."

"That's not what they do!"

"TIO KYBER."

Their conversation was cut short as Tio's name was called. The blonde boy shot the other a mischievous, sharp-toothed grin.

"Well, I guess it's time to find out."

He strode forwards to the chair with fast, giddy steps; the slight bounce in them punctuating how much he was enjoying himself. In record time he was sitting on the chair, excitedly tapping his feet as the sorting hat was placed on his head.

"Well well, another Kyber. And quite the cunning one aren't you?" The hat began slyly. "Devious. Honourless. Completely unethical... oh what a Slytherin you could make!"

A Slytherin? They were the ones in green right? The house with the snake for a symbol? That sounded like it could be fun. He could picture himself hiding under people's beds and biting their legs when they put them down...

"That's not what Slytherins do Mr Kyber!" The hat said sharply, disapproval clear in its tone. "You could certainly act the part of a Slytherin, and yet I see that you are missing something essential." It pondered for a few seconds, humming thoughtfully to itself. "Yes... yes I see it now. You lack the right kind of ambition to truly belong to the House of Salazar. You don't desire to be the best, you want to be... ah, I see you'd rather keep that a secret. Very well, suit yourself. If you walk to walk the path less travelled then so be it. There's only one house for you! GRYFFINDOR!"

There was a loud round of applause and cheering from the red table, and so with a lopsided grin Tio handed the hat back and headed over to them. Gryffindor was it? Well this could be fun! He could picture himself chasing people down and clawing them to death...

It wasn’t really an option - Ellory had to be sorted into Gryffindor. Not only was that where her twin sister, Emlyn was probably going to go, but it was also where 99% of her family had went for generations. Of course her parents had done a good job of reassuring her by repeatedly saying things like It doesn’t matter to us where you go, sweetie, as long as you’re happy, and We love you no matter what! but Ellory knew that they were really hoping that her and her sister would continue their legacy and they were just being nice about it.

For any normal person, getting into the noble house of Gryffindor might be an easy feat, but Ellory didn’t consider herself to have a single brave bone in her body. In fact, there was nothing extraordinary about her if she was being honest. Was there a house where all the rejects got placed into? Because certainly that would be where she would belong if it existed.

As the first years passed into The Great Hall, Ellory took note of the enchanted ceiling and the long, stretched-out house tables that her cousins had told her about. Though they had described everything quite accurately, it was a bit different being there in person. If if had been a different time, Ellory would be gaping at the ceiling in wonder and bringing out her parchment to make a good sketch of it, but as it was, she was so nervous that she thought she might literally collapse and it was all she could do to keep placing one foot in front of the other.

Just as she was deciding that she didn’t actually need to be sorted and she could actually just go back home without starting school and spend the rest of her life as a Muggle Janitor, she felt something warm grab her hand. Emlyn was still right next to her and had seemingly sensed her nerves and went to hold her hand. She felt slightly more reassured now that she had remembered that she wasn’t going through this alone and actually managed a weak smile. She exchanged a determined look with her sister as they approached the front of the hall. “See you at the Gryffindor table,” she whispered. A new sense of confidence had started to brew inside of her.

“Prosser, Ellory.”

Ellory was up first, since she had the misfortune of being just one letter in front of her sister. She took a deep breath and attempted to fill herself with courage and looked back at Emlyn while she took a seat on the stool at the front of the hall. She had to get into Gryffindor, if not for her, for Emlyn. Ellory knew she would never admit it, but Emlyn needed her. Who would keep her in line if it weren’t for her?

Ellory dug her fingernails into the palms of her hands, which were overflowing with tension as The Sorting Hat was placed on her head. She closed her eyes and focused with all her might on lions and the color red. Gryffindor, Gryffindor, Gryffindor.. she chanted to herself, over and over.

“Hmm what is this? Very interesting..” The Hat started. ”I see a sense of bravery, a willingness to stick up for those in need and to fight in what you believe in, but that’s not all.. hmm...” There was a brief moment of silence while Ellory waited for what The Hat would say next. “Yet you have an undeniable passion for knowledge, I see, and a sense of creativity and intuition. I would say Rowena would be honored to take you as one of her own.”[/b]

Please be Gryffindor, Please be Gryffindor, Please be Gryffindor, she repeated in her head, growing louder.

”And a dash of loyalty as well… Yes, Hufflepuff would be quite proud.” The Hat continued, seemingly oblivious.

No, no, no, no, no! Ellory thought. How was it saying every other house than the one that she needed?

”Hmm, you’re quite curious, my child.. Quite curious, indeed” There was a pause. ”There’s the potential for courage, of course, and an ability to do whatever is necessary to defend those you love, but you would make a fine Ravenclaw, indeed.”

Well, thank you, but I really, REALLY need to go to Gryffindor, you see, she pleaded.
”Alright. If that’s what you wish, then it better be..
GRYFFINDOR!

Ellory could not have gotten off that stool faster. If there was anything she hated in this world, it was the glare of a thousand eyes all staring at her. She hurried over to the Gryffindor table where she took a seat and immediately crossed her fingers and held her breath that Emlyn would soon join her.

Emlyn walked the grand staircases up the castle with her fellow first year students side by side with her twin sister Ellory. “Why boats? Why did we have to take boats to the castle? No one else did. Just us!” she thought feeling quite flustered and a little bit queasy. Boats were never really her thing and even a short trip across the lake was enough to have her stomach turn. Emlyn took a quick look around and others seemed excited, nervous, and otherwise in good health. Maybe she was the only one who had an issue with the first-year transportation system. Approaching the great hall, she could smell a feast fit for royalty bursting from the crevices and cracks of the wide great hall doors.
The doors opened, and Emlyn strutted in with her fellow classmates. The smell of fine cuisine (which would normally be very welcomed) was only making her feel more uneasy. She looked over at Ellory, who appeared nervous, no doubt contemplating what house she will be sorted into. Emlyn was sure that her and her sister would remain together in the same house. “Siblings often get sorted together from what mum and dad said so twins almost always have to be sorted together” she thought. Emlyn grabbed her sister’s hand and whispered, “don’t be such a ninny, you know we are going to be together” and smiled at her to try and offer some comfort.

After several names of other boys and girls had come and gone, it was time for her sister to be sorted. Ellory had made her way over to the sorting area and the great hat was placed on her head. Emlyn began to get nervous, but faked a big smile at her sister when they made eye contact. After a few moments, the hat yelled “Gryffindor” across the crowded hall. She smiled and clapped for her sister as the took a big gulp knowing she was going to be called next.

“Emlyn Prosser” – a voice called. Emlyn walked over to the large stool and sat down. A giant, old, wrinkly, and questionably sanitary hat fell on her head. Still feeling uneasy, Emlyn tried her best not to focus on how often the hat was properly cleaned and that it had just rested on the heads of a few dozen students before her.

“In a hurry?” the hat asked. Slightly startled, Emlyn re-adjusted in the stool and sat up tall. “um, er, no. I just…” – before she could say another word, the sorting hat interjected “Another one! Is it just the two of you or should I be expecting the whole litter?”. Emlyn retorted “no, um, just the two of us”. The hat gave a low laugh and began again “Hmmmmmm… you’ve got courage, a touch or two of bravery. I sense some adventure in you…but, also very careful. You trust those who earn it. Your sense of loyalty is strong – I know just where to put you. Better go join your sister then, Gryffindor!

A small wave of relief passed through her from head to toe as she hopped off the stool and walked towards the Gryffindor table to join her sister and new classmates. After a long day of travel, a bit of sea-sickness, and having to wear an old decaying hat, Emlyn was ready to find the Gryffindor dormitory and quickly put the day to rest and start her first day.

Hogwarts is older than Beauxbatons, Valerie reminded herself when they were led into the Great Hall of the castle by the Deputy Headmaster. She liked old places. Her aunt Aurore was a restorer of medieval muggle artifacts and an expert on the magical history of European castles and fortresses. In Valerie's school holidays she had taken her to dozens of castles around the continent.

Now she understood why Aurore had gushed about Hogwarts castle the way she had. It was the oldest wizarding school in Europe. Of course the other two big ones were grand, too, but Hogwarts was the first and that meant something in the magical old, where age was often equated with importance and value.

Hogwarts was magnificent.

Maybe her family was right and this was really a better place for her than Beauxbatons. Grandpa Michel was a British pure-blood after all, even when he lived like a muggle, and her mother was too, even if she was a squib. Valerie didn't want to be related to those fancy kids that she'd heard talking about "filthy muggle-borns" on the train, but maybe she was. The thought didn't sit well with her at all. You didn't need to come from an old magical family to have magical talent.

"Fabré, Valerie." She had been staring at the stars of magical ceiling and jumped in surprise when her name was called.

She had to sit on a wobbly wooden stool. Then the old hat was placed on her head. It was too large for her of course and the brim obscured her view on the student tables.

"Who do we have here?" the Sorting Hat asked in her head. "Old blood, but new one as well. You want to break away from the past, hm?"

Valerie crossed her arms defensively. She didn't need any old blood. Her magic was strong, she'd got that from how her parents, grandpa Michel and grandma Cécile had talked about her magical outbursts, but that was her and not some ancient heritage! She was smart, always the best in her class! That pure-blood nonsense could go and jump in the Great Lake for all she cared.

"You're a stubborn girl, I see. Set in your ways, certainly... ambition you have, but it's an ambition to break tradition, to move away from the old ways, even though you don't understand them. A hunger for knowledge, to prove yourself. You could have made a fine Slytherin, but your thirst to know says otherwise. So go to..."

"Ravenclaw!"

Angry and pleased by what the hat had said at the same time she handed it back to the Deputy Headmaster and walked over to the cheering Ravenclaw Table. The house of the eagle. The smart, creative students. She liked it. Slytherin tho... no, she definitely didn't belong to a bunch of traditionalist bigots. Good that the Sorting Hat had known better than to put her there.

The last couple of days seemed to have come in a rush for Miles. They started a couple of days ago when his father's side of family and friends through a grand event for the big sendoff to Hogwarts. There seemed to have been a old, family rivalry between his Aunt Felicity and the rest of Mile's family. It seemed that Felicity wanted some good drama between her close friends and see Connor's son to be the first Candor to not be a Ravenclaw in three generations. "Ohhh wouldn't it be great irony that one of the most deft beaters of Ravenclaw ever had to have a son have the courage of a Gryffindor," his aunt would often sputter to get under his fathers skin. She did say it in good jest, but it was family pride that made the rest of the family nervous.

What seemed like a million years, the boats crossed the lake to Hogwarts. Miles swore the trip would never end and that he turned a greenish puke color along the way, he was sure of it. Over the course of the last year, he had become more accumulated to flying on brooms which was a greater comfort then those rickety old boats, driven by magic or not. "They did not look safe to cross this giant lake, what if a giant sea monster jumps out of the water and see whats for dinner!", he thought privately to himself.

The headmaster who awaited us at the top of a grand staircase guided us to a room to wait till apparently we were needed. There were plenty who whispered about what to expect or what was to come.

There was a tan boy who awaited nearby and Miles could tell that we both had the same trepedation of what would be to come. "Hi there, I'm Miles, do you have any idea of what house that you will be put into?"

The boy gave a short chuckle as he rubbed his shoulders to get some warmth going after the pretty cold trip across the lake. "Sadly, I most likely do know what house I am going into. I have a couple of generations of relatives who have been in Hufflepuff. Which is great don't get me wrong, but it kind of takes the suspense away from things, it would be nice to go someplace different. We will see of course, but I am not expecting much... what about yourself?

Miles thought about the response for a bit, because he would be in a similar position to the boy next to him. There wouldn't be much of a surprise in him getting into Ravenclaw, since many generations have went through them. He kept coming back to what his Aunt said and she had her own beliefs on what would be best for himself. He didn't think of himself as particularly brave or cunning. He was a loyal friend he supposed and tended to think he was smart like a lot of young boys and girls probably do.

"Probably Ravenclaw, it is after all -" Miles started to reply before the Headmaster said that the preparations were set and that they were ready for the sorting ceremony. As Miles entered the hall it was marvelous what he seen and that it blew away any sort of imagination he had for the world that he was to enter for the first time. There was moving portaits, ghosts that wandered about, but most though the many hundreds of students watching us first years go down the center aisle... judging.

At this point, Miles was terrified while sporting his black robe with his name tag attached plus some squeaky sneakers that somehow got wet on the boat ride over. He knew of course what was to come, because it was one of the last chats that he had with his father, uncle, and aunt. They warned that there is no controlling what the sorting hat will say and that all you can ever be is honest or else you might regret it. Miles didn't dive into what they meant by the veiled threat, but he guessed that sometimes the hat stalled on certain people... which is a worry he didn't need at the time.

There were a few start of term notices that Miles didn't really pay attention to since his main attention like it seemed most of the students seemed to be drawn to a shabby, old wizarding cap. There was a song attached to it but his mind was garbly goop when it came to remembering what the hat said, something about the four houses history or something. The headmaster stated they would go alphabetical by last name which left Miles with little time to prepare himself. He stood straight, took some deep soothing breathes, and looked at the sky which relaxed him more than he thought the stars would do. Before he knew it his name was called.

Candar, Miles!

Miles wasn't really the social type when it came to interacting with what would be fellow classmates and potential friends. He took another quickened breath and strode to the stool and awaited his fate as the hat covered up his eyes.

Ahhh, its been a long time since we have had a Candar in our school, though it seems that you are a bit different from the last.

I don't know, sir. Obviously I didn't know what my father was like when he was in school There were the intruding thoughts of his aunt peaking through however about being a Gryffindor. He honestly didn't know what to think. How did this work? How did you get what you desired.

Ahh, I can see how you are conflicted and no reason to call me sir, I am a thinking cap after all. To be like your father or to go down a different path... where to put you though

At that particular moment, Miles didn't care as long as he could get off this stool and be in a chosen house. I would like to be in Ravenclaw if you see it in me... like my father.

You have the talent, oh its there in spades, but if your sure... RAVENCLAW!

The vale was lifted to the applause of others and as he sat down he did indeed see the boy he talked to earlier get into Gryffindor which came as a total shock to him. I gave a cheer as he sat down and raised goblets to each other and watched the sorting continue and realized at the end that his Aunt did have a point. There was truth in that one should choose their own destiny and not just what perhaps their family wanted. It might be good to talk with her more even though he was in Ravenclaw. He did need to explore more than what he thought he wanted to get to the truth. His family no matter what the circumstances always told him that the truth can be more powerful than the lies others may tell in spades.

A whole new world awaits those that seek it.

She was so anxious to get sorted into some great house. When her name finally was called, she confidently took a few big steps - she sat really close, obviously it's best to have a good view of the ceremony - and put the old hat on her head.

Hmmm... A big heart for sure... Some ancient presence started whispering directly in her mind. It was very weird for sure, but not unpleasant.

Hi there, she thought to the Tiara, um, I think all the houses are fine, but can you maybe not assign me to Slytherin? I heard Harry Potter...

You're too individualistic for Hufflepuff, but maybe you'd fit Ravenclaw..., Tiara interrupted.

Her mind was racing. How can this old hat even know anything about anyone? This magic must be amazing. Yes, this sounds fine, sure!

No, your mind is so active, you want to be the change in the world, to make things your way...

I ...Do I? She was baffled.

Now tell me. What's the most precious thing in your life?

My sisters - the thought appeared in her head in an instant.

That settles it. SLYTHERIN!

I... No, wait! But the Tiara stopped responding and after a while Angela had to stand up and put it down.

That was so unfair, it didn't even listen! She looked at the cheering Slytherin table and tried to gather herself before joining them. Maybe it won't be bad, maybe Tiara was right? Maybe she will actually fit in?... She sat in a random empty space and looked around. This was her home now.

Finally. That was the only word that came to Clover's mind as she walked up the stairs towards the Great Hall. Finally, she had gotten out of the hell hole, also known as her home, and found her way to the Greatest Wizarding School in Europe.

As Clover walked into the Great Hall among her fellow first years she got that calming feeling of a home. She hid her excitement, like she always hid all of her feelings, but she couldn't fight the small smirk that her lips formed. Finally, Clover thought again, finally I'm home.

As they gathered around the Sorting Hat she started to feel anxious. She really wanted to be sorted into Gryffindor, but she also knew that was a longshot, as her bloodline always had been put in Slytherin. Her brother being the only exception in her family, when he was sorted into Gryffindor seven years ago, and since her brother was the only person she ever truly loved, she hoped to go the same way. She looked nervously from side to side as the Sorting hat started to call names. A hundred thoughts crossed her mind.

"Clover Edevane!" the hat called and awoke her from her overthinking.

Her hands were noticably shaking as she walked up and sat down on the stool. She could feel everyone staring at her, and she truly hated the feeling of being the centra of attention. Quickly the hat was placed on top of her head and she felt as though her mind went blank for a couple of seconds.

"Oh, I remember your brother well. A complicated that one, huh?" she could hear the hat say. "Let's see if you're like him."

She closed her eyes and tried to fill her mind with brave thoughts, she wanted the hat to see that she was nothing like the rest of her family. She was braver and so much kinder.

"I know what you want, but I also know where you belong." the hat said. "My dear, you belong in.. SLYTHERIN!"

She took the hat off by herself, so angry with it's decision that she could've punched someone. She got off the stool and joined the Slytherin table. She didn't really mind the house itself, only the thought of herself being anything like her parents. But as she looked at the faces of the people around her, she thought to herself that maybe it all would turn out to be okay somehow.
