Summer had been a busy one for Callie and was largely characterised by hardship. Life seemed to throw all the pain it possibly could at the young girl in the span of a few weeks but Callie seemed completely unshaken by it. She still wore the same wide grin and carried herself with the same enthusiasm for life as she always had done. Death may have touched the girl over summer but she'd come out the other side stronger than ever but not entirely unchanged. That much was proven a few days ago in Hogsmeade, where the carriages that pulled the older years now had a driver what seemed like the first time. Callie was convinced her mind must have been playing tricks on her but she couldn't quite remember the presence of the bony winged horses when she saw them last year. The creatures held a strange sort of beauty to them even if they appeared terrifying on the surface but Callie was keen to sweep the thought from her mind. Perhaps she'd look further into it at a later date but for now she was much more focused on the day at hand.

Over the summer Callie may have grown marginally taller but her robes were still as ill-fitting as ever, as proven by the sleeves which tumbled down her arms when she breezed into the courtyard. "Stupid things!" Callie exclaimed to nobody in particular as she sat herself down on the closest available bench. The second she got off her feet Callie let out a sigh of relief and let down her stack of books with a rather satisfying thump. She'd originally planned to read through a couple of charms textbooks to get a head start but an unfortunate tumble a couple of minutes ago had rewarded her with a new scrape on her arm which was much more important. Thankfully Callie wasn't all phased by the injury and instead fished out a set of plasters covered in smiley faces from her pockets and carefully placed them on the affected area. As she worked she hummed a familiar tune to herself, the theme song of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles of course. It was catchy and had been stuck in her head for weeks, so much so that she ended up singing along out loud to the currently empty courtyard. "Heroes in a half shell!" She hummed to herself as she laid down on the bench, completely content with singing along to the song of what she considered the worlds best cartoon. Don't worry, she hadn't quite come across Power Rangers yet.
