Evangeline had time to spare before returning to her Dormitory. She had found the castle to be very interesting, even though it was much bigger than Pierce manor it was filled with things and people and it didn't feel empty like the Manor did. There were things to see at Hogwarts, headless ghosts, floating candles, and moving stairs were only the smallest of its many wonders. Her curiosity had been pushing her to visit the trophy room and she had finally given in.

The girl stood outside of the door that led into the trophy room, ready to see the goblets of silver and gold that houses had acquired over the years. She wondered if she would get to see one of her ancestors' names engraved on a silver or gold plaque. Evangeline doubted it, even though they were quite a wealthy and well-known family, none of them were known for anything that won them a trophy. It was a shame that her mother didn't go to Hogwarts, otherwise her name might have had the honor to be scratched into a trophy.

She entered, glancing at the shimmering objects that decorated the room. It wasn't a particularly grand room, but it didn't need much to feel important, the trophies gave it that feeling anyway. Suddenly, Evangeline felt like she was intruding, it felt like this wasn't the place for her to be. Surely they were allowed to visit the trophy room? Evangeline scoffed at her own stupid thoughts, of course they were, and even if they weren't, she was already there.

The Slytherin approached one of the glass cases, peering in to see what had been engraved in the silver of the goblets. She spotted the trophies for House Cup and saw that Slytherin had won the most. The sight of her house's accomplishments made her feel pride, even though she hadn't attended this school for very long, it still had that effect on her.

A rather monotone day passed through Hogwarts, all the students appeared bored or disinterested, even the chattiest of wizards seemed to have turned down their voices for a pinch. It didn't bother Ophelia, in fact, those days were somewhat calming ever so often and gave opportunities and encouragements to do something new. With that, the gray-haired girl decided exploring the gigantic school would be a suitable way to spend her time. Pacing through the quiet corridors, she thought about her studies here so far. It did indeed spark her interests, new information served daily was overbearing for many, it wasn't tiring Ophelia though, at least not for now.

Steps echoed through soundless hallways, moving at a slower pace, hands tucked in robe's pockets. Then, blue gaze caught nearby giant doors were open, curiosity crawling its way into the girl's mind, walking closer towards the light shining from the unknown on the other side.
Stepping into the mysterious room, radiating glow blinded her vision for a moment before eyes adjusted, observing the large mass of silvers and golds in from of her. Realizing she was located in the trophy room, slim figure walked forward, circling around piles of awards, engraved with names unknown to the girl's mind. The room wasn't as large if compared to some others, such as the library, so it didn't take long for Ophelia to realize there was someone else in here as well. The person who perhaps opened the door in the first place, the person who in a way baited her in.

A girl stood not far from her, viewing some of the trophies. Dark hair covered one's head and stretched in waves down the girl's shoulders. Pale skin was visible underneath the robe decorated with green streaks. Assumingly, the wizard belonged to Slytherin. Since the slightly taller figure was turned around, Ophelia couldn't get a good look of one's face and decided she wouldn't bother her, not knowing if she should stay here or leave.

Evangeline was a very competitive girl, seeing the trophies only enforced her wish to achieve something at Hogwarts, to be remembered and do something to make her family and house proud. She imagined the honor of receiving a trophy and having it placed in a glass cabinet, locking it into Hogwarts's history for good. The shadow of a smile appeared on her face as she stared through the glass, though it resembled more of a smirk.

Her thoughts were disrupted when somebody entered. Evangeline showed no indication of acknowledging their presence, though her focus was on the person that had joined her in the trophy room. Evangeline could see a distorted reflection in the glass, giving her a glimpse of the person's appearance. Their hair was silver, almost white, blending with the person's light skin. It was a shocking look, but Evangeline's expression remained neutral and seemingly disinterested, the only sign of any other emotion being the slight quirk of an eyebrow at the sight of the Hufflepuff yellow that adorned the newcomer's robes.

"Evangeline Pierce," she stated, turning with an elegant motion. A single glance at the girl solidified the picture that Evangeline had in her mind. Evangeline didn't bother asking for the other student's name, she should give it without being asked. Unless she didn't want to and that would just make her so much more interesting.

Just as her mind decided to leave, foot almost rising to take a step back, the stranger turned around with some sort of grace, dark hair gently waving before falling back to its place. She introduced herself as Evangeline Pierce, a rather elegant tone decorated one's voice, pale eyes observing, piercing the Hufflepuff for whatever reason hidden in Slytherin's mind.

A moment of silence passed between them, the slightly taller figure stood as if she was expecting something. Ophelia's face remained serious, eyebrows forming a rather intimidating expression. Hands fixed gray locks behind her ear, as slightly tinted lips spoke:
"Ophelia."
Tone was smooth, perhaps because her name had a fluid pronunciation to it, blue vision remained fixed on the pair of similarly-colored orbs near her, hands now found their way in robe's pockets.

Anyone who knew at least a pinch of Shakespeare's works would compare one's name to the Ophelia from Hamlet, the daughter of Polonius. The enthusiasts would even start quoting Hamlet, speaking of the character as if it was Silverton who fell into the brook and drowned. She didn't mind it greatly though, it was just a way people continued a conversation, some perhaps achieved bragging for knowing this particular literature and others tried persuading the girl by praising her beauty and such.

Evangeline gave a small nod of acknowledgment. The name fit Ophelia well, somehow it matched her appearance, fitting well with the silver-white hair and pale skin. She would have liked a last name too, but Evangeline dismissed the thought, she didn't want to waste her time hoping that she would hear one, it was a stupid thing to want. If her father were there he might scold the girl and ask for her last name, but Evangeline only cared for such things out of habit.

"Do you recognize any of the names here?" Evangeline asked, glancing at the trophies and plaques that shone proudly behind shimmering glass walls. There were a few Pierces here and there, but she didn't recognize their names, although it wasn't unlikely that they were a distant ancestor that she didn't know of. Evangeline would have appreciated someone to look up to, someone who really did do something great, but there wasn't anybody in the family that her father cared to mention. She knew that both sides of her family were rich and had successful jobs, but she hoped for something more than money, a greater achievement than just an excellent career.

Evangeline wondered if Ophelia was from a family that she knew. Maybe Evangeline was talking to one of the wealthiest witches in the country and she just wasn't aware of it.

The dark-haired girl asked if she knew about any of the names on the trophies, a hidden pinch of pride appeared in her voice, perhaps there were her relatives engraved in the shimmering tablets stuck on these trophies and awards.

She paced a few steps back and front, eyes shifted around the room, observing the giant mass of silvers and golds surrounding the two figures, then blue vision returned to the girl again, lips parted, answering one’s before asked question:
“I guess a few.”
Voice then faded out, small echo was heard bouncing around the room like a whisper as they both seemed to be filled with thoughts of the prizes in front of them.

Ophelia wondered if her relatives won an award, she never did ask her father about it. Perhaps because a child didn’t fill her mind with competition all the time or she never thought of asking. She wondered if her mother won anything, woman died at the child’s age of four. She wished she could know as much as she could about her, heart loved unconditionally, she talked about the woman with her father ever so often, both felt a slight feeling of pain when a sensitive topic was brought up.

Evangeline nodded when the girl spoke, her curiosity growing by the second. The girl didn't seem to reveal much information, but it only made Evangeline want to know more, to ask more questions that she doubted the girl would answer in detail.

"Which names?" Evangeline asked, a slight hastiness slipping past her will to not show feelings. Evangelin grew up in a place where sometimes such a thing was necessary, it was probably the reason why she was so fond of acting. It was also probably the reason why she was placed in Slytherin, with the sly and the cunning, the others that knew how to slowly manipulate others into doing their bidding. Evangeline didn't think of herself to use other people, there weren't many people for her to use, but it was something that she could see herself doing, though not without good reason.

"Any that you might be related to?" Evangeline continued asking her questions. Even though they were not the most subtle things to ask, hopefully the girl wouldn't be too offended by Evangeline's curiosity, she knew that some people didn't take her prying very well. It wasn't the most liked trait, but Evangeline didn't give a shit about what other people thought of her. As long as they knew better than to mess with her, Evangeline was more than happy without their validation.

The self-introduced Evangeline appeared rather curious about Ophelia's knowledge about award winners, stacking questions one after another, icy orbs glowed with interest as vision scanned her with a certain deceptive tint, making the Hufflepuff wary of the snake girl's movements. Eyebrows still formed a somewhat frowned position, blue gaze observed with alert as she listened to one's questions, not sure exactly how to combine everything in one answer.

Stepping next to the vitrines. eyes observed a vague figure of herself reflected in the spotless glass. Slim figure was a tad smudged, pale skin blending, long hair stretching to a mid-back length, a few white locks shining out of many shades of gray, blue eyes did indeed strike out even in an ill-defined image. Looking through the transparent material, she read some of the names on the trophies then walked away, strolling closer as legs then stopped, orbs looked towards Evangeline, lips parting:
"I am not certain, I never did ask about my family's achievements."

The sly girl will probably pry into greater detail, but Ophelia valued her privacy, never speaking a lot about her family. By her experience with the Slytherin so far, she gave an impression of a wealthier individual who probably did have something to boast about but preferred the twistier roads, speaking in a hidden subtone as one could call it. It is not as if she disliked the girl, no, she did genuinely find her unique and interesting, but she couldn't really decide yet on which side of her small circle she should place the Slytherin. Deciding to let the child speak about herself, lips composed a pair of simple words:
"And you?"

Evangeline frowned at the girl's answer. Why wouldn't she want to know more about her family's successes? Such indifference confused Evangeline, she wasn't used to hearing such a disinterested tone about something that she found extremely worthwhile. Her family's achievements were important to Evangeline, mostly because of her competitive nature, but also because it was an intriguing topic in general.

The question got Evangeline no further in her ongoing investigation. This girl revealed nothing that would have guided Evangeline onto some path, not a single clue was offered by the girl. Evangeline wondered if she disliked the questioning, hoping to drive Evangeline away by saying nothing of great detail. If so, her plan was not working, the vague answers she was giving only made Evangeline more eager to try, though she decided to push her curiosity aside and try to make a friend. The two of them becoming friends was an unlikely scenario since Evangeline was particularly easy to dislike when she wasn't trying to get on someone's good side. Her more distant and ignorant side was not at all likable.

Evangeline nodded, "A few that are familiar, but none that I'm sure of," she responded, keeping her own answers vacant of anything more than a few hints about her family, it only seemed fair that she should reciprocate the lack of detail in Ophelia's words.

(so sorry it took me so long, I didn't notice the notification)
The girl nodded in acknowledgement, as the Slytherin spoke about the trophy names with a certain vague tone. Ophelia wondered if one was trying to imply something to her but decided to let the matter go. instead, blue gaze again focused on the room around her.

The trophy room was an interesting place indeed, one could describe it as beautiful, the way light bounced off the metal, giving it a lovely shimmer, trophies looked like starts really, each one shining with their own unique pattern. The protective glass gave them an extra glow, as rays appeared to reflect with a certain path as from other side candles were lighting, giving a warm tone to the entire room, especially to the prizes in front of them. Ophelia preferred the colour of silver over gold, the colder palette suited her tastes better but silver wasn't the number 1 in other eyes, mind couldn't help but wonder if anyone else felt like one did. She did understand though, gold was rarer than silver so it did make sense why it was given to winners.

Ophelia's favourite metal would probably be platinum, or perhaps rhodium, both showing their rarity by shining their pale colours with pride. She wondered if the dark-haired girl would answer 'gold' to such question, or if she would surprise the Hufflepuff with a bolder choice.
