Isabella tip toed into the trophy room. It wasn't her night to patrol the corridors and she could get in trouble for being out after curfew, even if she was a prefect. She had gotten an owl that night from her mother, and she had mentioned getting some awards in her time at Hogwarts. So of course she needed to go see for herself. And she hadn't been able to wait until tomorrow.

She looked at the muggle watch on her wrist. 3am. No one should be out now. She should be alright. Stopping int he middle of the room, she looked around. The room was full of trophies, medals and awards. It would take her forever to look through them all. She moved to the sides of the room, her eyes skimming briefly over the trophies.

'I hope my name ends up somewhere in this room someday.' She thought to herself, referring to the fact that she would like to win a trophy and keep it inside the trophy room.  She wandered slowly around the outskirts of the room reading through names, familiar and unknown to her.

As she reached the corner of the third wall she was yet to see, her foot got caught on the leg of a shelf. She fell over, giving a small scream she as fell to the ground. She lay still on the floor listening for any sounds in the castle, well aware that her scream had been too loud for the silent castle. Praying that no one had heard her, she pushed herself up and made her way over to the door. She pressed her ear to the door and hoped that no one would find her.

It had been a long day. Her hand still ached after all the homework she had had to do. Her Muggle school never had this much homework! She looked down at it now, from her curled up position in the Trophy Room. She had been explicitly told, alongside all the other first years, that it was against the rules to be out after curfew. She couldn't help it, though! The Ravenclaw door had something against her, she was sure of it! It asked her a riddle so complex and full of magical terms she cried when it refused to open to her. It wasn't her fault she couldn't answer it!

And- she had heard about the stigma against non-purebloods. With a Muggle father and a squib for a mother she was terrified of revealing to someone that she didn't know the magical terms, less they be one of them, and ridiculed her for it. They might even hurt her!

So, there she was, curled up in the privacy of the Trophy Room, where she had hoped no one would come into during the night. But alas, there was. A silent gasp escaped her as the door opened. Quickly scooting further into the corner and out of sight, she prayed the girl wouldn't see her. Cecilia's eyes were wide open, and she counted the number of steps the girl made, as she couldn't see her well from her position. Please don't come over here... Please don't come over here..!!!!

There was a thump, followed by a short scream. Cecilia flinched in response, instinctively ducking her head and doing her best to conceal her form. When the only noise was the girl rising and hurrying to the door, Cecilia peeked around the shelf. The girl, a Slytherin, she now knew, was listening at the door. What do I do?! She isn't leaving! But, what if she's hurt?

Her thoughts were racing. If someone heard the girl they'd both get in trouble! She really, really didn't want to get in trouble. With a trembling and low whisper, she tried to get the girl's attention. "W-What are you doing in here.. Are you okay..?"

Darkness was the best cover for someone being hunted. The Masked Figure walked the halls at night, avoiding the eyes of students and staff alike. Even those who spotted him often lost him in the darkness before catching him. He was cautious, yet curious. When a scream sounded from the down the hallways and he wasn't the cause, he had to investigate. The Master would want to know what could scare children inside the castle. Commands went mostly unspoken now unless he resisted. The voices were horrible so he usually followed the compulsive nature of the commands rather than fighting back. Had he truly given up already?

Good. Find the source of that scream. It had no mercy, and neither could he.

The Trophy Room was not something he had explored yet. It seemed there was movement inside, but they were hoping to hide. His approach was as silent as he could make it, listening for others as well. No one seemed to be coming. It was just him and whatever was behind that door. Someone had been attacked, killed, or perhaps just scared. It was his duty to find out why and report it.

"Hey, is anyone inside? Open up." he said in a sweet, friendly voice of the vessel. "I'm not a prefect, it's okay."

Without waiting for confirmation he pushed open the door, his wand ready to go. When it revealed two girls inside the room who seemed very alive and very unharmed, he was upset. This was nothing more than late night shenanigans and he had to reveal his existed for that?

Punish them. Came the voice of the Master as he stared down the girls through his mask.

To them he would be faceless, dark, and undefinable. It was too dark to tell even if he didn't have a mask, most likely. He stood in silence for a brief second but what may have seemed like an eternity to them. Before making his leave he uttered a single word to cover his escape.

"Incendio." The incantation was almost too calm, but effective.

The girls could deal with the flames as they saw fit, but he would make his leave. No one would stop him tonight. He had followed the Master's commands without fault tonight. Rewards would come, or so the Master promised. Had he harmed those girls? He couldn't be certain. He doubted anyone would die from such a thing but it would certainly be shocking for a friendly greeting to turn to flame.

"W-What are you doing in here.. Are you okay..?" A voice from behind her asked. Isabella jumped at the sound and turned around, pulling her wand out of the sleeve of her robe. After a brief scan of the almost dark room her eyes landed on a girl who was curled up on the floor of the trophy room. The tight grip she had on her wand relaxed a little and she stood up straight. "Yea, I'm fine. I just came to look around." She said smiling at the girl.

Turning around to face the door she heard a noise. Jumping at the sound of a voice that must of been in the corridor, she raised her wand and pointed it towards the door. "Hey, is anyone inside? Open up. I'm not a prefect, it's okay." Said a voice she had never heard before. She kept the grip on her wand tight, even though they sounded nice something just felt off about it. And if there was one thing she had learnt from her children years it was to always trust her instincts over her brain.

The door swung open, revealing the figure of what looked like a man. She couldn't see his face in the dim light. But she was curious as to who it was. Taking a step back she kept her wand pointed at him. Turning her head around, she looked at the girl behind her as if making sure she was ok. When she turned back the man had his arm raised, with a wand in his hand. She looked up at him, wand still raised and just as cautious as she was before. "Incendio" A voice whispered. Flames shot out the end of the mans wand, lighting up the room. In the second before she turned away he turned away she caught a glimpse of his face. A mask. He was wearing a mask. And then he turned around and left them to deal with the flames in the trophy room.

When the flames had shoot out of his wand they had landed right in front of her, scorching the end of her pants. The hems of her pants were enough to lit a small fire on her clothes and spread up while burning her in the process. She stared down at herself for a few seconds, dumbfounded, before instinct kicked in. She ran off around the room, trying to put the fire out by hitting herself. She jumped around, being reminded of the dreadful incident when she had set the common room ablaze. And she didn't want years of students hard work at Hogwarts lost because of her.

You see? Even death has a heart.

The girl in front of her jumped as Cecilia spoke. Whipping out her wand, she pointed it at Cecilia, and she cringed backwards. Holding up her hands to show she meant no harm, she started to say, "N-no I'm not-"

As Isabella relaxed her grip, Cecilia lowered her own hands, letting out a silent sigh of relief. There wouldn't be any violence that night, or so she thought. As she calmed down, a voice sounded from the door, and she started. As Isabella now pointed her wand at the door, Cecilia scrambled to grab her bag and stuff her homework back inside.

The door swung open, revealing a shadowy figure. Cecilia could barely make out the fact that there was even someone there in the dark, but her heart raced as what was seemingly someone with a boy's voice stared at them. How many people wandered the halls at 3 in the morning? "Wha-"

"Incendio."

The flames rocketed out of the figure's wand, and Cecilia let out a loud squeal. With her eyes widened in fright, the boy turned to leave, light of the flames glinting off of.. the mask he wore? She saw nothing that could identify him, whatever it was that was covering his face concealing any telling features.

The flames scorched past Isabella, her pants catching alight. Scrambling to her feet, the fire licked at Cecilia's boots, and she quickly stamped any out that tried to get near her. Panicking, her mind fell blank, and she hopped from foot to foot in fright. Seeing Isabella on fire, a thought finally hit her a mere second later, and she yelled what every Muggle child is taught. "Stop, drop and roll! Stop, drop and roll! Do it!"

The fire had begun to feed towards the shelves, and so Cecilia did what she could think of. Yanking at her cloak, she fumbled with the fastenings before removing it. Rushing to the fire, she tried her best to beat the flames out, knowing no spells or other tactics. With years of memorabilia lining the shelves, her very being screamed at her to save them from a fiery death. Some of the moving pictures agreed as they cowered, the immortalized people within only just magically aware enough to know they were in danger.

Her adrenaline-fuelled panic seemed to somewhat work, but the fire wasn't going away. Screaming, she prayed some professor or school staff would be around. Hell to getting in trouble for being out after curfew, someone tried to hurt them!

"Someone help! Help, fire! Help us!" Her panicked words slurred together, accent thick but very loud. The once peaceful area in the castle surrounding the trophy room rang with her shouts, and she could only hope they would be heard, and that someone would come to their rescue and help.
