The young Quinn had been in quite the conflicted kerfuffle. Afterall he didn't mean to confuse the girl that had run off too suddenly for him to react, or perhaps he was just too slow. Whatever the case Quinn felt he needed to apologize and clear up any misunderstandings there were. Mae seemed like a wonderful girl, and to be honest he really wanted to get to know her.

Years of observing things and people has allowed him to acquire a still very much developing sense at reading people. Perhaps that's why he got the feeling there was more to her then meets the eye. But that curiosity and genuineness to be her friend was a plus to what he already felt needed to be done.

That is why now he found himself at the top of the west tower, out of breath, and completely disheveled. In all honesty he looked exactly how he would after a day of play with his friends. He knew she was a ravenclaw, and if his very brief read, heh reed, of her was right then she would mostly likely be here at this time or returning from class most likely. That was actually why he was so out of breath. He quite literally ran to the West tower traveling lord knows how many flights of stairs. Not to mention however many times he got lost in the still confusing corridors.

You'd think someone with near perfect memory wouldn't get lost so much but he was afterall, what he liked to refer to himself as...navigationally challenged, at least that's what his dad would say. It was a fun word to say too...oops he almost got off topic again.

With a heavy sigh Quinn ran his thin fingers through his fiery orange curled mop of hair, slicking it back best he could. It still looked like a mess, but a more organized mess at least. Next he fixed his school bag readjusting straps, reorganizing things, and most importantly taking out a special book from it. His scarf was all over the place, and he was just dusting his robes off straightening up the mess. After maybe 5 minutes of this affair, he felt he looked more presentable. Though probably just as baby faced. He was kind of surprised no one gave him that nickname, which he was very happy about mind you.

Taking a deep breath, Mr. Healy walked to just a few feet from the Ravenclaw door and stood there in all his freckled, baby faced glory something he still didn't like for one reason or another. "Okay okay Quinn. You got this, stay on topic, apologize, clear up any misunderstandings, and hopefully this peace offering will appease her. Just don't ramble...for the love of god please do not ramble." He subconciously began to twirl one of his curled locks in between his fingers nervously without really realizing what he was doing it. A nervous habit apparently no one else in his family had. At least the ones he knew about...

Yes, Mae had messed up. But after a bit of anger, she came upon the conclusion that crying wouldn't do anything about it. You see, Mae had confused herself with another girl and instead replied to the boy that was indeed asking about the other girl, the right girl. When looking at it from this point of view, it may seem like an insignificant nothing, but from Mae's vantage point, it was the drop that filled the glass. First, her relationship with Amaya, now her friendship with this Hufflepuff boy and the shy girl, what was next? Would she simply spend her seven years at Hogwarts simply pushing others away?

As it seemed like all was lost, Mae decided to travel to the library and pick up a book to clear her head. Before walking out the imposing door to the common room, Mae took a fleeting glance at the large chamber: a prefect telling riddles to fellow Ravenclaws, a pair of girls giggling, and a small study group towards the back.

Carefully closing the weighty door, so as not to let it slam, Mae came face to face with the one person she'd really rather not see: Quinn Healy.

Quinn was in a bit of a huff, since again he had practically run all over hogwarts trying to find Mae. He was glad he had the sense to try and wait for her after classes were over by the raven claw door. He would try to crack the door riddle another day...if he didn't get caught again that is. That was another story for another day.

Lo and behold he was proven right when Mae stepped out of the door. Again he was glad he decided to come and wait here. "Great we found y-er I mean I found ya. I've been looking everywhere for ya." For a moment he had defaulted to his usual way of speech. A hard habit to break when talking to someone who was not used to that. He'd really need to thank his mother for all those harsh and even nightmarish English lessons. He was getting off topic again. "I tried to catch ya earlier, but you ran off before I could. First, I'd like to apologize. I didn't mean to make you cry like that, and I certaintly wasn't offended when you answered first instead of the other girl. I just tend to zone out here and there, and as you can see that can be a bit of a problem..." He chuckled nervously.

'Oh there you go again Quinn going off and rambling in front of the poor girl!' He chided himself mentally for that little debacle this was turning into. At least to him it seemed that way. "A-Anyway I'm sorry and I hope I didn't make you too upset?" He was sincere in his words, but sadly for Quinn he could be terrible at reading the atmosphere at times.

"I--" Mae stopped herself. She wasn't crying, but... if that's what Quinn thought, that's what he decided to think. "I'm not too upset. Don't worry about me," I said, maybe too standoffish. "I'm sorry, I'm just not feeling well today, I've been messing up a lot lately," I elaborated further, in an attempt to repair broken ties. "Maybe I'll see you later." With that, I left the hall and did not turn back, fingers crossed that he did not decide to follow me. I would finish some homework, somewhere. Down the stairs, past the Gryffindor Room, and our own very Divination. Down past Transfiguration, and the bathrooms, the library, and then Charms. Past Muggle Studies, and the Corridors. On the Ground floor. I made my way to the Great Lake, and sat there, with my books and papers. My mind expanded on what I had said before. I had never cast a spell before. Other students had, not just the Second years. Not me, I was incapable, what if I really was a Squib? My parents were sure that wasn't the case, but what if it was? A girl couldn't help but wonder. So I began my work, listening to the quiet breeze and still waves of water.

Quinn was a bit surprised by her response and swift exit. At first he was just planning to let her be on her merry way. However, something didn't sit right with him in her response, and he also felt he somehow misspoke earlier. That's why he now found himself trailing her. Was it a bit creepy?...probably. But Quinn was quite determined to patch up any misunderstandings and to make sure she was alright.

Ah the great lake. It was a fun place to relax at or do homework at, if you just needed to be away and around nature. "Ye definitely picked a great spot." The red head had said having followed the girl. He stood a bit awkwardly a few meters from her, not wanting to impose...though he probably did that already by following her.

"Um I daen't mean to follow it was just seemed that something was...well botherin ya" He explained placing his school bag that was slung over his shoulder down. "Besides I daen't get to know you last time and I was hoping we could this time...that is if ye don't mind" He was a bit awkward in the way he was talking, but his words were also sincere.
