Ava walked up the stairs, her feline friend Bambo behind her as always. She leaned against a wall and sat down with two letters in her hand, along with parchment, a quill, and some ink. Her pet settled next to her and started falling asleep as always and she started petting him. As the purring stopped signaling the girl that he was asleep she looked at the items in her hands. So do I read first or do I write first? she thought, trying to decide. Her head was hurting as she put away the letters in her hand and took the quill. Ok, let's write to Andrew first, she thought and started writing.

Hi Andrew!
I know, I know, I know. I should've written sooner, blah-blah-blah. But see? I'm writing - so I kept my promise, gotta get me Fortescue's now! So, how are you? I'm very good. Got sorted to Slytherin and made a ton of friends. Eden Rosier, Ingrid Winterwood, and a lot more. I got accepted into the Quidditch team as a beater. Which is good, I will get to have a bat in my hands at all times. I also got accepted into the newspaper team as a writer! I'm so happy. I already wrote to Kate and got a reply - I'm telling you this to inform you that I WON'T WRITE TO MOONY.
I know, he is my brother, but I won't. He betrayed me and Kate. I won't so don't even try.

Ok, I'm done, gotta get to schoolwork. Byeee!

Ava put the letter into an envelope and sealed it. She put everything away and tore apart an envelope that she got. This was the one from Kate. Ava smiled and started reading.

Dear Ava,
I'm so happy for you! It's great hearing how you're getting to know many people. It's great that you're contributing to your House. I am sure you will do great in your first game. But first, remember - an A average. That isn't important to only me - you just need to have it to be on the Quidditch team. Remember it, okay? 

Anyway, our father is doing fine. I'm hoping you're doing great too. Make sure to not embarass yourself, kiddo! I have to go now, duties. I'm so sorry for the short reply and I promise that next time I'll write more.

Ava frowned a little bit. Sure, she replied quickly in one day, but Ava was expecting something longer than two paragraphs. But sure, she had duties to do, it's okay, it's good... right? She took the second envelope and also tore it down. This one was from Xaver; apparently, her grandfather didn't have the time to write back. 

Dear Ava,
I'm also glad that we can keep in touch. I miss you dearly and I hope that we could meet during the holidays - either you visit Sweden or I visit you and Kate in England. It's great here in Durmstrang as well; I've made some friends, but it doesn't seem like as much as you did. Guess I've just been caught up with schoolwork. Now, to answer all of your questions:
- Everything is great here
- I've made maybe two friends - two twin sisters (they look almost exactly like you!)
- I actually got sorted into Wolverklaue. I'm also surprised!
- I don't really have any plans for now, except meeting up with you during the summer  
- The schoolwork is going great. I only got one bad grade, the rest of 'em are better.
That was tiring. I hope you are doing well and I'm looking forward to writing with you and sharing everything that happens; if you need me, you know where to find me!

Ava chuckled, seeing the signature. He always added the heart, no matter who he wrote to or what about; It just had to be there if it was a letter from Xaver. And the style of writing... it was very 'formal' for Ava, her letters were always messy and she would always have to correct them after writing, but his letters were always beautiful and formal-like. She read through it again and again until she got bored of it. It was always how he wrote - just the general style of writing felt like she was able to talk to her friend again and it was amazing. She got up and walked downstairs, Bambo following her as she walked back to the Slytherin common room.

Ava walked up the stairs of the west tower into the Owlery. She had to reply to the letters she got, read the one she got, as for permission from Kate to participate in the adventure thing... Her cat followed her, as usual. She leaned against the wall and sat down like every time she came here. Well, the two times before. She took the quill and the parchment along with the ink she brought and started writing. Bambo was already settled next to her, almost asleep as always.

It's no problem, I'll probably write shorter letters as well. Schoolwork D: I have a question for you... There will be a game, only for Slytherins, and I need a parent/guardian's signature to participate. I'm sending you the filled in the form and I'll need you to fill in the blank and then send it back, ok? Thanks in advance! Anyway, I hope you are doing fine. Everything here is great, but a little bit crazy - dorms re-organization (one of my previous dormmates is with me in a dorm thankfully), I finally learned some spells that could help you at home, everything is going great. Except that one D... I will make it up to you, I promise!

Ava put the letter in an envelope and put it next to her, ready to send. She took another piece of parchment and started writing a response to Xaver. His letter was also short (if not shorter than Kates) so she felt like she needed to make up for it. Maybe in Durmstrang he just didn't have the time to do it? Yeah, that... that was probably it. He had to be so confused. A new world.

Hey Xaver!
I'm glad to know you're doing good. Twins? That's pretty cool. I only saw siblings, who weren't twins. At least not identical ones. I'm still pretty sure there is a lot of blondes with green eyes around the world, so that's not so special. Meanwhile here we had a dorms re-organization and I ended up with different people. Only one girl stayed the same :p and guess what? She is a blonde with green eyes. So as I said, this isn't really that rare. The first Quidditch game is coming up, so I'm pretty nervous. Do you play Quidditch? I mean, it's also rare (I think) that 1st years are in a team since we can't have our own brooms in the 1st year. Maybe it's different in Durmstrang? I don't know, you have to tell me. By the way, how are you getting to know the wizarding world? A weird question. But I need to supervise you little hooman thing. 

Well, gotta go. Got a D recently, so I have to make up for it,
