Dear @Serena Bowen,
I hope your day or night is treating you well!
Allow me to introduce myself, I am Adlai Rod the one who has been partnered with you for Quill Pals! I aim that we become good friends.
A little background on myself, I was born in Reykjavík, Iceland but moved Merthyr Tydfil, Wales when I was eight years old. I have two younger sisters names Dorothy and Johana. I also have a Pygmy Rabbit named Dexter! As for my interests I have a humble background in the sports tennis and gymnastics, I also enjoy canoeing. I also have a vast interest in astronomy and magical creatures.
I am personally fond of the rock genre of music, especially the muggle band Ghost. Though I entirely sure that their music is not age appropriate for us. That has never seemed to stop me though!
If you don’t mind me asking what are your interests? What kind of books and music do you like? What is your favorite movie and why? Have you ever had any pets? And what do you think of Hogwarts to far? Because I know I find it to be absolutely fantastic and can’t wait to learn more about magic and everything it can do.
Sincerely,
Adlai Winifred Rod.

Dear @Adlai Rod,
First of all, thank you! My day has been pretty good so far. How are you doing?
I’m looking forward to getting to know you better. And I hope that we’ll become friends too.
What was it like growing up in Iceland? I’ve lived in London my whole life and have only ever been to France once when I was very young, so I hardly remember it. I’d love to travel more, but with my parents’ jobs as Aurors, we don’t have time.
I’m an only child. My Aunt Elizabeth is the closest I have to a sibling, kind of like my big sister. Sometimes I wish that I had a sibling, but sometimes I’m glad that I don’t… At the moment, I don’t have any pets, but I’m debating on getting a cat if I can convince my parents.
I’m not too into sports, but tennis, canoeing, and gymnastics sound interesting. Music’s more my thing. I’ve played the piano since I was five-years-old. I just love the way it sounds. Do you play any instruments? I’ve never heard of the band Ghost. I’ll have to check them out when I get the chance! My aunt introduced me to one of my favorite artists, Dodie. I love her lyrics, and her music is so relaxing. I also like to draw. I’m not very good, but it’s a good way to relax.
Ooh, I also love to read! Picking my favorite book is tough, but I’d say it’s a tie between “Alice in Wonderland” and “The Tales of Beedle the Bard.” My father would read them to me before bed when I was younger, so they bring back good memories.
I haven’t seen too many movies. My parents didn’t own a television until recently. But when I would go over to my aunt and uncle’s house, Aunt Elizabeth would show me some of her favorite movies from her childhood. One that I would ask to watch at least once during my stay was Anastasia. I love the music (I can’t help but sing along) and the relationship between Anya and Dimitri. What’s your favorite movie?
So far, I think Hogwarts is even more magical than what my mother told me. I can’t wait to explore it further and to finally have my own adventures! I’m also excited to learn more about magic and how to use it!
From,
Serena Bowen
P.S. Happy Halloween!

Dear @Serena Bowen,
I am doing well and I am glad to know you are as well! And happy late Halloween!
Living in Iceland was amazing on my part and I wish I could have stayed there longer. However, if I did I would have never had the opportunity to come to Hogwarts. But I sometimes am able to go back to Iceland during school breaks to see my fathers parents in which amazing memories are made!
What is it like in London? I’ve seen amazing pictures of it in magazines my Mum purchases.
Sadly I do not play any instruments, around the end of elementary school for music class we had to learn how to play something called the recorder and I think that’s where my distaste for playing instruments began, that and my short attention span!
I’m in LOVE with the movie Flipped! I’ve always admired the two points of view shown in the film and how the characters personalities and relationships grow. The story it tells is fantastic and I can’t wait until I’m able to watch it again. My Mum likes to say it rotes my brain though, but I just think she’s over exaggerating. Any other film I’ve watched is related to astronomy or space in some way.
Sincerely,
Adlai Winifred Rod.
