How are you guys? I know it's only been a few days since we all left Hogwarts, but ever since we came up with this idea I've been super excited to send out the first letter. I've never written one to two people before, at least not two people in two different countries! I could keep talking about how this little letter cycle works forever, but I should probably give the two of you something to answer or our idea will end before it even starts.

It's been pretty awesome over here in Nottingham. I had some trouble getting home because of my stupid brother, but that all worked itself out, and Eris and I got on the train just before it left. She's spending the holidays with me again, and I'm super excited to do all the stuff we did last year. Has it started snowing in Ireland or London yet? We haven't gotten enough to count, but I'm sure it'll come before the holidays end. After all, you can't have a Christmas break without playing outside in the snow. If it gets too heavy, the two of us have plenty of inside plans too. My mom has a bunch of old board games and card games that she always brings down this time of year, and my wizard chess set is still holding up greatly. Plus, if we ever get bored of that, there's always movies and popcorn to keep us occupied. Do you know how many good movies are out there? Way too much for the two of us.

I wish I could have sent this letter out earlier, but it's been so busy unpacking and getting all the last minute decorations and presents prepared that I haven't even had time to pick up the quill. It's calmed down a little bit now, but tomorrow we'll be right back into it -- it's Dean's eighteenth birthday. Wish me luck. Even with all of that stuff, I'm hoping that if I get Allen (the owl with this letter) out on his way before the end of the night he can find his way to Cecily before Christmas. I'm sending you each a present, and they have your names on them so you know which one is for you. I couldn't find a lot of wrapping paper left, and I'm terrible at wrapping anyways, so I'm sending them to you in this nice towel. I don't remember where I got it, but I want to say Anatole Evans gave it to me once. Do you remember him? It's a Hogwarts towel, but you'll be able to tell that pretty quickly. If either of you want to keep it, I've never used it. It's yours! Merry Christmas!

I should be wrapping this up pretty soon before Eris gets bored of watching me write or Allen disappears to go do something else. Cecily, I couldn't exactly remember your address, or even remember if I knew it, so I wrote down the most accurate thing I could and I'm trusting Allen's owl senses to do their thing and find you. I can't wait to hear back from the two of you! Merry Christmas again, and see you when we get back in school!

With or without snow (currently without-- we haven't had snow on Christmas for years, but there's still time!), it definitely feels like Christmas here at the Quinn household! We don't decorate much besides a tree and some other little things, but my mum and I always make cookies this time of year (we have too many to count!) and my oldest brother is finally home again. I haven't seen him in almost a year because he was gone all summer, but my whole family is home now. It's shaping up to be a wonderful break!

I've not been doing much since getting home. A lot of the usual-- reading, reading, eating, reading, and sleeping. I have a stack of books I want to finish before I (hopefully, probably) get more for Christmas, but that's nothing new. I got to fly a few times on our old family broom earlier in the break, but it's gotten too cold with the wind recently. I'm saving up to buy my own, though, so I can fly without having to ask my parents first! Besides that, I'm mostly just spending a lot of time with my family before we all have to go our separate ways again in January. Lots of games, music, food, the like. What have you been up to, Amadea? Anything exciting?

Anyway, thanks for the presents, Adam! I think I already sent you yours-- I hope they arrived on time! (Amadea, yours are coming with this letter-- well, you probably know that already, as you've already gotten them if you're reading this. Hopefully all this isn't too heavy for Mallory and she gets to you before Christmas.) And as for the towel, uh, well, I don't really want it personally have no use for it, but I'll send it on to Amadea. Maybe she'll want it. On the topic of sending things to Amadea, I'm using my dad's owl, because I want to keep this going while giving Allen some time to rest! Next time, I'll use Allen, and then Amadea can get him back to you. I hope that's okay.

Merry Christmas, both of you! Hope you have a wonderful holiday!

What a wonderful Christmas surprise! This letter idea is wonderful; I miss you both terribly! Similar to Cecily, Camberley does not have any snow at the moment, but the bitter weather certainly is a reminder of the season!

It is officially Christmas day! I spent the morning opening presents with my mum and sister (who both say hello!) This was the first year we didn't have a giant Christmas celebration with the Greenes (and my father) but it was almost nice to have a small celebration. After being around so many people at Hogwarts every day it was nice to have some peace and quiet. Surprisingly, I'm beginning to miss the hustle and bustle of school; I'm definitely not missing the huge loads of homework though!

Like Cecily, I haven't been doing much since arriving home to Camberley. Just the usual reading, writing, and catching up with my sister (who is currently reading over my shoulder as I write). Cecily -- I received your presents and am so flattered. Thank you very much! If both of you noticed, I snuck a few Chocolate Frogs into your trunks before we left for Christmas break - hopefully they didn't melt on the journey home! As for the rest of your presents, I'll be sending them along! I hope you both enjoy. As for the whole owl situation, I also don't have an owl and neither do any of my family members (gosh, Muggles) so I'll have to use Mallory. Honestly, writing this section of the letter is just making me feel worse so I'll probably wrap this up soon. Anyway, I'm going wait to send this tomorrow, partly because it's Christmas and partly because I want to let Mallory rest for a bit before sending her off to Nottingham (even though this journey will be much less of a distance for her).

One last thing to address before I sign off: the towel. Personally, I don't have any need for it, but it's a nice reminder of Anatole. I'm just going to send it back to you, Adam; think of it as your pre-Christmas gift, I suppose? Anyway, I hope you both are having a wonderful holiday and I can't wait to see you guys back at Hogwarts! Merry Christmas!

Your owl is one tough bird, Cecily! I feel bad for sending her off on another international trip, but she doesn't seem to mind at all. I'm sure she's excited to get back home for the holidays as soon as she can. I hope you don't mind that I gave her a little Christmas treat -- well, when I say that I fed her, I mean that I got Bridgit to come up and give her something. As much as I love both Mallory and Allen, I don't think I'm ready to watch them swallow a mouse whole just yet. If you get in trouble with your dad for it, you can tell him it was all my fault. Hopefully that got Mallory in the spirit of the season!

Are you two reading any good books? It sure sounds like it! I always feel like I should be reading more as a Ravenclaw, but I'm glad to know that you read enough for the both of us, Cecily. I'll cover all of the movies. Eris and I are becoming experts on The Avengers and a bunch of other superhero movies -- I think we both like Captain America the best. Who wouldn't? It's great to get lost in the library at school, but I think that History of Magic might have ruined reading for me for a little while. Maybe I'll try it again in a month or so!

Merry official Christmas! They don't call this the most wonderful time of the year for nothing, at least not in my house. I haven't had time to even think about writing to you two over the past few days, but I'm glad I do now! I can't wait to hear all about your favorite gifts and how you spent the day. The Chocolate Frogs were a great surprise, and so was the Gobstones set (thanks, Amadea!) I'm sorry your dad wasn't there to celebrate, though. Mine wasn't either; luckily, I still got to have a great time with my mom, my aunt, and Eris. My brother's here too, but he's been in his room so much of the time that I'm starting to think he has a Vanishing Cabinet in there. If he was paying attention to me, I'm sure he'd want to say hi.

Our first round of letters went terrifically, I think, and really fast too! At this rate, I might hear back from both of you by New Year's Eve! After that, it'll be back to school and homework. Christmas just can't last long enough, but I say that every year, and I don't know what I expect. One of these years, you two will have to come visit me in Nottingham. If it's easier, of course, I definitely wouldn't mind coming to Ireland or Camberley. Much more exciting than this old town! If I can't make it over there quite yet, at least the towel can make a return trip. We have a towel flood at my house, guys, we really don't need another one. This is starting to feel like tag, isn't it?

You're it, Cecily. Can't wait to hear from you again!

Happy Official Christmas to you too! I had a wonderful time on Christmas Day-- still no snow, unfortunately, but we all sat around our tree in our pyjamas and ate cookies. I spent all of Christmas Eve in the kitchen with my mother and my little sister making cookies-- a tradition here in the Quinn household. For a present, not only did my oldest brother show up (a fantastic surprise-- I hadn't seen him in sooo long), but I got a Nimbus 2001!!! I'm so excited for the weather to warm up so I can try it out. I have no idea how my parents managed to afford it, but I'm not complaining. I'm bringing it to school after break so I can use it for Quidditch! How about you, Amadea? Favorite present?

I don't know who all of those superheroes are, but I'm glad you and Eris are having a great time. It's just my family here in Ireland, but it's how it's always been. Some things never change, y'know? But I like spending time with my family. Anyway, I also got a ton of new books for Christmas. There's too many for me to write out, or this letter would be five pages long, but I'll have to tell you both about them when we get back to Hogwarts.

We should definitely visit each other sometime! Amadea and I have already visited each other in London and here, but I would love to see Nottingham; I've discovered a love for seeing new places.

Last thing: the towel. Listen, I really don't want it. I've barely even talked to Anatole, I don't want his towel! Amadea, it's coming back to you. Happy Christmas.

Sorry this letter is so short; it's late and I want to go to sleep. In all honesty, I should have just saved writing it until tomorrow, but I want to keep this thing going. It's almost the new year! (that's insane, whoa! we're already a quarter of the way through second year!) Amadea, your turn-- I can't wait to hear from both of you again soon!
