I completely agree with you! No one seems to enjoy writing as much as I do, except you! So I'm thrilled I found you. Don't worry about the delay. I've barely unpacked from the Summer Camp, still. Pretty much got whizzed off for a hair cut before I even set foot off Kings Cross!

I'm pleased to hear your summer has gone well. Wow, you have winged horses? That sounds amazing! Send some photos of them, for sure. I'd love to see them fly. That sounds absolutely adorable. Your house sounds really lovely too. I'd love to come. Are you still struggling with flying lessons? I got given a broom just recently! I can bring it over one day and teach you, if we don't get a chance in school.

Flying by the sea sounds brilliant. My summer has been pretty good. It's been hectic as always. I spent the last month in Summer Camp, which was actually quite pleasant. At least, no one almost died again. Being home has just been like usual too, I guess. It's okay. My brother is still irritating, my mother is still trying to dress me up like a doll and my father is still working so, I guess not much changed at home either.

Shame to hear about your party - we will definitely celebrate with cake for breakfast. That sounds like a great plan. I look forward to your muggle postcard! I've never seen one so I'm sure I'll like it. Perhaps best to give it to me at school though, so my parents don't chuck it away. I wish I was going on holiday! Sadly, I think the rest of the plans for the summer are parties, parties and more blooming parties.

Looking forward to cake at 9am on the 1st of September. Save me a slice!

Dear Serena,

How was Summer Camp? I thought about going but I missed home too much. How short did they make you cut your hair? I'm sure you look good no matter what! I’ll grow mine out for a while, until it starts to bother me. Nana says I should save some strands for future children’s wands, isn’t it too early to be thinking about that?!

I’ll send you an invite sometime! I hope that you’d love it as much as I do. I couldn’t imagine living anywhere else. Yes please! The school brooms don’t seem to like me that much. My grandpa has been letting me practice on his old broom. I don’t understand how I made the team during first year. As substitute Beater but still! I’d like to get better at flying for sure.

Were there any projects to do at Summer Camp? I’d like to go next year if it means I’ll be learning too! School away from school. That’s a relief that it was safe. Not much changed at home for me either. Well, I did find something interesting but I’m not sure if I should say in a letter. Did you know that my family is known as traitors in Pureblood Society? I think that’s quite well known.

That’s alright! There’s always next year. By then, I’ll have even more friends to invite. Speaking of inviting friends over, Reid is coming for a visit. I plan on surprising him with birthday treats while he’s here. I’ll let you know how the visit goes. I’ve never had anyone over before, much less a boy.

I’ll hang on to the postcard for you. Hopefully the parties won’t be too bad. We’ll be back at school before you know it.

Dear Dymph,

Summer Camp was surprisingly uneventful - it was really nice. There were some things that the Professors did like a Herbology Workshop but that was mostly just picking plants. It was less learning and more fun and games, which makes a nice change really.

Wait, you can put your hair into your wand?! It's definitely way too early to think about children. We're still children! My mother made me take off like four inches I think.

I can definitely come over and show you how to fly! I'm so excited to try out my new broom in school soon. Do you think they'll let me use it in flying lessons too or would I just have to use them in Quidditch matches? I wonder if I could use it outside of lessons... Ha, I just pictured running a professor over in the corridors with my broom. Yeah okay, I think they'd say no to that. Ohh, say hi to Reid for me. The idiot didn't even tell me it was his birthday till way too late. I managed to send him a gift though but still.

How comes your family is labelled as traitors by the Pureblood Society?

Dear Serena,

With everything that you went through, a normal Summer sounds like just what you needed. I’m glad that it wasn’t too stressful. Did you get to keep the plant?

Veela core wands are rare. Mamaí said that she wanted me to have a ‘normal’ Hogwarts experience. Going to Ollivander’s and having the wand choose me. Granny was mad about that. She said if I’d had a Veela core that I’d have an easier time of it. I think my wand would’ve been too temperamental if Granny had gotten her way.

Though I’ve done some research and Dragon Heartstring is temperamental too.

I don’t see why you couldn’t use your own broom in lessons! It would be the perfect way to get used to it, among tryouts and matches. It was nice of you to send a parcel to Reid. Maybe he didn’t want anyone to make a big fuss… or he probably just forgot to say. Seems like something he’d do. What did you send him? I don’t want to give him something he already has.

I thought it was well known by now but I’ll tell you about it when we’re back at school. There’s something else I have to tell you as well. Nothing to worry about though, it’s just a long story.

Dear Dymph,

Sadly, we didn't even get to keep the plant from the workshop! It was mostly just picking them for next year's Herbology classes, I guess. I had no idea that you could put veela hair into a wand, that is a really interesting thought. I should not be surprised, to be honest. Mine's got a dragon heartstring, apparently - which, now that I think about it, is kind of really strange... Shouldn't that be illegal? I feel like you've hunting down dragons just to make them into wands? Ugh, I don't want to think about it. I guess mine's pretty temperamental then too. Explains a lot, actually.

I sent Reid a bag of sweets and chocolates in the end. I managed to get him a hammer though that I gave him in person. I don't really understand the idea but I heard that he likes this character called 'Thor'. Some muggle thing. And Thor uses a hammer. So I got him one.

Can't believe we are going back to school in a few days. I am off to pack. I imagine that you'll be getting ready to leave by the time you receive this letter - hopefully it will reach you before you return to Hogwarts. But either way, I shall see you in Hogwarts!
