Happy birthday. I wish that we could be together on this day, but you seem content there at Hogwarts. I do hope you enjoyed the ball, Lucas told me you went with a date. I do hope he was a fine young man, from a respectable family I assume?
Sadly, your parents will not be able to write for a week or so. They are currently traveling with some muggle business associates so I am sending a gift on their behalf. I would love to hear how your classes are going. Did you join any teams or clubs, remember a well-rounded student is a powerful one. Any friends, anything you want to tell me about this boy you seem to be courting? I do miss you and our chats in the gardens. I seem to be spending my days counting down to when you will be back here, Snow Court is much darker without you here in it.

Grandmother,
Thank you for the beautiful gifts and for writing. No surprise Lucas told you about Percival, his surname is Gray and his family resides in St. Ives. My classes are going well, all Os and Es. As for clubs and teams, well I made the Slytherin dueling team which was wonderful. I am sure you know of the Becketts, well their daughter, Anastasia and I are running a dance club together.
As for missing our chats, I must agree. Every time I see a rose out in the grounds I think of you. When it comes to winter break, how would you feel if I invited Percival to join us, for Christmas at least? Just a thought...
