A Formal Invite PV Anastasia Beckett Finished

Dear Anastasia,

I hope your day is going well since I saw you this morning, I am writing this in hopes of asking you whether you might be interested in attending the Fall Ball with me, namely the Masquerade. I have been helping organize the event, and will therefore likely stay in the ballroom all night. I don't know what your interest in dancing might be, but regardless of your skill level I would be glad to be joined by you. When I considered who I would most be interested in spending more time with, you came to mind. It is a shame to only see each other at one time of the day, and I could imagine talking to you for hours. I usually find balls quite boring, but the right company can make any dull evening bright.

Naturally I would understand if you have any reason to decline, you would not owe me any explanation. As for what I could offer you as your date, I would hope delightful conversation, and as much dancing as you could stand to bear. During the last ball I had been pulled away by distractions, but this time I feel more secure in the safety of the dance and its attendees. I have accounted for liabilities and hope you'll also trust that you'll be safe in attendance. Even if, beyond all odds, something went wrong, I would stick by your side.

Well, perhaps this all seems dire when I put it that way, but I realize these are honest concerns for the students these days. I want to relieve as much stress about this as I can, regardless of whether you choose to attend or not. I feel as if I've started to ramble on though, forgive me for writing so much to ask such a simple question. Your recent acquaintance has been a pleasure regardless of your acceptance of my invitation. I thank you for being so generous with your time and attention. I hope to continue to learn much more about you.

Kindest regards,

To @Flash Holmwood -
I was quite thrilled to see your letter. I've been doing various forms of ballet and ballroom dancing for as long as I can remember, and I quite enjoy it. Even if I didn't, the offer of spending an evening with you would be more than enough to entice me to attend. As someone who has been to more galas and balls than I can count, the right company makes all the difference. Granted, I have seldom found dances at Hogwarts to be boring, but here's to hoping.

You sound like quite a marvelous date, and everything you offer sounds superb. While other events have gone badly (to say the least), it never hurts to give things another go. Additionally, if you are optimistic about the precautions and security of the ball, then I trust your judgment.

In short, I would be delighted to accompany you to the ball. Making your acquaintance has been one of the brightest spots thus far in the term, and I hope to get to know you better as well.
