Bones and Groans
Emma, and just about everyone inside of Hogwarts, knew Quidditch was indeed a rough sport, but she never once had thought about an injury to herself, nor others. She never imagined getting hurt in her years at Hogwarts, some students never got hurt in their years inside of the walls at Hogwarts. They were the lucky ones.Continued from Leap of Faith
The journey was rough, tripping and falling on absolutely nothing. The wind had ruffled her hair, blocking almost half of her vision, but she didn't mind. It helped her avoid the eyes of students walking in the corridors. Plus, Kent had her back. Those she knew, and those she didn't enjoy being smothered by her friends, or just mere people in general. The only thing pleasant event that occurred so far was the amazing rush of wind she felt on her broom, and that was enough to cheer up any day.
Continuing to smile optimistically, they made their way up the steps. It was far harder to hop up an entire staircase than to hop on flat land. Sometimes the Grand Staircase moved unexpectedly as the two traveled on it, sometimes they had raced to get on to the staircase before it had the time to turn once more. One thing was for sure, it had been quite the adventure.
After all, the weather had been magnificently perfect for playing, it was just the matter of perfecting her skills. She had made up her mind, it was no longer a choice of heart or preference, it was about logic. She had been sorted into Ravenclaw for a reason. Both the position of Beater and Chaser were magnificent, but maybe it was time to play a guard. Besides, she had played shooting guard for her county basketball team, who said Brits couldn't play basketball (Absolutely no one)?
Yet, there they were walking through the hospital wing doors, her arm clutching Kent's shoulder. Still, it was absolutely positive that they hadn't fallen off the staircase. Trying to put as much pressure as she could on her right leg, she tried walking as casually as possible but almost stopped immediately. That was just more work for him when she tried putting herself inside of his shoes. What a strange saying...
Her first visit had been rather peculiar after refusing to leave the Hospital Wing after its hours. She still didn't regret the events that had taken place, she stood up for her best friend and she was proud of that, no one could change her mind.
Walking to the bed, with the support of the Hufflepuff, she sat down, refusing to lay down completely. She eased her leg off the ground and pushed herself backward. For the second time, she was visiting the Hospital Wing, except this time she was a patient. She mentally shuddered at the thought of it. She had merely come for the mending of a bone or two, but some of the Hogwarts students seemed actually sick, well at least that what she inferred from it. It was absolutely ludicrous to teach first years a curse, especially one that took time to naturally cure itself.
"Thanks for bringing me... even if I did fall a few times." Emma laughed, keeping the mood light just as Kent did. She was absolutely grateful that she had gone to the Quidditch Pitch that afternoon, even if she did fall off of her broom. There was nothing better than knowing someone always had your back, no matter the condition. "I owe you, big time," she smiled absolutely forgetting about her injured leg. The Quidditch season was going to be amazing.

Bones and Groans
How anyone could walk around Hogwarts and not get lost was beyond Kent. Even with small cues from Emma and the odd bit of brief discussion, the Hufflepuff felt like he was wandering in circles, and was forever stuck in a loop. Despite the urgency Kent felt at getting Emma to the hospital wing, the pair had to be careful, especially on the crazy moving stairs. Trying to move with one leg out of order made the trek longer and Kent was beginning to feel the strain of supporting the girl. Still, even with beads of sweat forming on his forehead, the Hufflepuff kept pushing on.
In all Kent's life he had never abandoned anyone and he wasn't going to start now.
"I think we're almost there," Kent said as he pushed a student that wasn't paying attention aside, causing the older boy to stumble with a cry of surprise. "Move it... watch where you're going, mate."
Kent was relieved when the hospital wing doors came into view and the pair entered. The hall had a heap of beds, all in two long rows, and an assortment of cabinets with all kinds of stuff in them. No doubt magical things that would blow a Muggle-born mind. He even wondered if there were ways to cure the really bad stuff, and whether the Wizards had tried to share that with others. Maybe that was something Kent could bring up later when he found someone to talk about it all with. At the moment things were still super confusing, so that's why Kent had focused on trying to learn Quidditch, even just to keep his mind off how crazy things were now that he was part of some magical community.
Continuing to support as best he could, Kent followed Emma's lead to a bed and helped her down. He decided to stand, crossing his aching arms over his chest, as he looked around. Despite how amazing it could all be there was still some surprise when things were basically the same, like beds or clocks or trains. Kent wondered why there weren't hovering magical beds, which were able to shoot across the sky to pick up the patient, before floating them back to the doctors... maybe there were and he didn't know?
"It's cool," Kent said as Emma spoke, offering a shrug. He didn't feel like Emma owed him but he appreciated that she didn't just dismiss him. "You were doing me a favor, so it was the least I could do. I mean, those bludgers are nasty, and I wouldn't feel right leaving you on a broken leg after sending them your way."
True enough. Emma had been injured because of Kent's hits and he sure as hell wasn't going to just walk away on her. Still, now Kent didn't know what to do, so he kind of just stood there with a small smile on his face. The nurse would surely be along soon, unless they had to call out and make themselves known?
"Sucks you're going to have a leg cast, sorry about that," Kent said. "So... does the nurse... usually come along by herself? Or do we have to call out?"

Emma watched as Kent shrugged before crossing his arms, in a more nonchalant manner than a rude manner. She would have expected nothing less, well rude, from him. She looked around the room to see if anything had changed, sure enough, it hadn't. The school had gone centuries without once changing its complex appearance. It had been a few months since the last time she stepped foot inside of the Hospital Wing, but she had grown to navigate the school with ease.
Guilt swelled throughout her body. She felt bad, extremely bad. If she had really been so light, why did both of them seem so out of breath? Though Hogwarts was such a huge school, she would have felt slightly better if a professor would have come.
"Still, you should be out there, continuing to practice. Not worrying, you aren't going to get any better if you sit around." The words seemed to roll off her tongue as if making them up as she spoke to him. It was true what she said, it was hard to stop someone from doing what they enjoy, but the Hufflepuff seemed to do it so effortlessly.
It was odd anticipating the nurse's arrival, or even just simply waiting for a distraction to happen. Sometimes a strange silence occurred, other times she looked around at the beds full of the ill. If the nurse didn't show up soon, she might have found herself spending the night in the Hospital Wing, instead of her dormitory.
"Cast?" She shook her head, moving the hair from her eyes. "Just a spell, strangely. I don't think you can learn it at Hogwarts, though. At least not until the third year and beyond." It was scary just to think about it. You couldn't move a move without causing some form of pain, at least it wouldn't last for a quarter of the year.
"The nurse is usually here," she lowered her voice, "you'd think we all the people this would be the last place she leaves." She shrugged slightly, she really had no clue.
