A Misunderstanding
(This thread follows the events which happened here.)
(Darius, Siege, Serena)
His thoughts were quick and fast, flying in his head like a bunch of mad birds, waiting to get out of the cage. His eyes were moving underneath his eyelids, his head began to shake as the pain began to be clearer and real by the seconds.
Darius relived all the fight moments in his head, feeling the pain as if it was real. He felt those punches crashing his soft flesh, his frail bones and his squishy and tender organs. Those shots were too much for the poor Darius, they were too much for his weak body.
He already had large and purple bruises on his chin, his left cheek and his stomach, those parts were so painful he could feel it a little in his restless sleep. Even some of his teeth were being dislocated. Fortunately, they were just baby teeth but Darius could still feel the flavour of blood in his mouth.
Finally, the Gryffindor boy slowly opened his eyes, seeing the light of the sun coming through the open windows. He let out a deep sigh, immediately feeling the pain running through his body. He couldn't even turn around, but he understood he was in a comfortable bed. Not his dormitory one, but the Hospital one. He recognized it from the white blankets and, of course, the room that surrounded him.
Even breathing was a little hard for him since his torso hurt a lot. Maybe that wasn't a good idea, he thought.
Then Siege came to his mind and he suddenly worried: what if someone unfairly blamed him? He had to make up something, he didn't want his friend to get in trouble. Then he looked up and saw him and Darius barely smiled: his cheek was swollen and he couldn't move his face very well.
"Hey, Siege..." He said in a low, weak voice.
"If you can dream it, you can do it!"

A Misunderstanding
*** Flashback Post ***
Serena's POV:
The young Hufflepuff's jaw fell wide open. It was practically on the floor, as her eyes widened. A look of shock horror crossed her face. Did she just see what she thought she had seen? Her eyes caught a glimpse of the finale of the fight between Siege and Darius. She didn't know why they were fighting or what happened prior to this moment. However, what she had just witnessed was horrifying to her. Serena had caught the moment where Siege's fist went up into the other boy's jaw, causing the much smaller boy to fall down to the floor. "SIEGE!" Serena screamed, before she was even aware of the fact that her mouth was open, "WHAT THE F-" The girl cursed as she suddenly dashed forward into a run and approached the unconscious boy.
She had been standing too far away to hear their conversation. Her screams, however, definitely would have reached them before she did. "Oh my fu-" She exhaled sharply under her breathe as she rushed to the boy, bending down over his body, "Hey, you okay? Hey, can you hear me?" Panic was oozing out of her every word as her eyes quickly scanned the boy's face for a reaction, any sort of reaction. He looked like had completely passed out though. She didn't know who he was but she knew Siege, and she knew his troublesome nature. Her heart was pumping so hard that it felt like it was going to explode in her chest at any given moment. "What the hell is wrong with you?!" She spat out as she turned towards the Gryffindor boy that she knew, "What the hell are you doing? What did you do to him?! Are you trying to kill him?!" Oh boy, was she mad.
Siege's POV:
"Don't worry, I didn't burn him..." Said Siege casually, assuming that Serena had heard their conversation. "It wasn't even that strong of strikes" Pointed out Siege, shrugging. "He should be up and about, a couple hours from now"
Serena's POV:
Outraged, the girl gaped at him with a face full of anger at this response. "It wasn't THAT strong?! He's unconscious, for f*** sake!" She cursed, "Why did you hit him?! What's wrong with you?" She continued to question him, trying to make sense of the situation.
Siege's POV:
"Well, we are just fighting..." Said Siege shrugging indifferently. "Calm down...I'll explain everything, once we get to the.... Erm...hospital wing? I'm sure he'll be more comfortable there..."
Serena's POV:
The girl's eyebrows furrowed angrily at him. She probably looked like she wanted to kill him. His casual nature was angering her more than anything else. How could he so calm after rendering a person unconscious? "Calm dow- are you crazy? Have you lost it- what's wrong- argh- fu-" She was super angry but unfortunately, the boy's health comes first. Taking a deep breath to calm down, Serena gently poked the unconscious boy to see if she could get a reaction from him. Anything to indicate that he was okay. She noticed he was breathing - so he wasn't dead, at the very least.
"You haven't broken any of his bones, have you?" She asked seriously, though her voice was dripping in anger, knowing that you should never move someone if it's going to cause them more harm. She couldn't tell but he looked like he was simply unconscious, which meant he's okay to be moved. "Argh! Help me carry him then, you idiot!" She barked at him, angrily, deciding that they could heal the broken bones if need be.
Siege's POV:
"Uh... hopefully not? I only got his cheek...Then his diaphragm...Then his jaw...Yeah, I don't think I broke anything." Said Siege. "And calm down, you'll attract attention, you could get me expelled or something..."
Serena's POV:
"Oh that's all? That's okay then!" Serena replied sarcastically. Her voice was dripping in sass and heavy sarcasm as she rolled her eyes. "Right, well help me get him to the hospital wing and I'll stop screaming." She bargained with him, knowing full well that there was no way she could carry the boy by herself, "And don't press on his diaphragm at all... and support his head..." She instructed, her voice still dripping with anger.
Without further ado, they managed to get the injured boy's arms around their heads and supported his weight with their shoulders, lifting him up and carrying him to the hospital wing. Admittedly, Siege probably carried most of the weight - since he clearly had the strength enough to knock people unconscious in the first place. However, despite being tiny, she wasn't that weak. So she wasn't entirely useless - but it did help that Darius was pretty light comparatively. She didn't talk much during the journey though - probably to Siege's relief - as she concentrated on carrying him to the wing, without bumping him anywhere and making sure they supported his head at all times to avoid doing more damage to his jaw or cheeks. However that beautiful smile she normally had plastered on her face was no longer there. It was a face full of tension and worry. About the injured boy's health and about Siege's behaviour. So far, she still didn't have any explanations.

A Misunderstanding
Serena furrowed her eyebrows, carefully watching the injured boy. She frowned as she noticed the large purple bruises on his chin and left cheek. Of course, she couldn't see the ones covered by his clothing but those looked bad enough for her to worry. The boy looked like he was in so much pain that it physically hurt her to look at him. Sighing, shot another glare at Siege. The young Hufflepuff would have yelled at him some more if they weren't currently in the hospital, a place for people to rest and recover.
Siege had once almost hit her, during their first Defence Against The Dark Arts class together. But that was an accident. She had justified his action as a reflex, something out of his control and totally forgiven him for it even without an apology. She didn't think twice about it. But now, she was beginning to wish that she had. Maybe it was in his nature to punch people, for no reason! Or at least, that's what she thought because he had failed to provide an explanation for his actions so far.
Serena had probably never been this angry at a random stranger in her life. Her family? For sure. They had seen her scream and yell. But no one outside her immediate family had seen this much anger coming from her. She was described as a bubbly and smiley personality! However, if Siege looked at her face at any point, he was going to see the daggers shooting out of her eyes as she glared angrily. "So? Want to explain why you-" Serena said harshly, her tone of voice still dripping with shock horror. She dropped the volume of her tone for the second part of the sentence as to avoid other people hearing the situation, "-beat the living daylights out of him?" Despite her anger, she thought there must be some sort of explanation. Siege had, after all, been the one to suggest bringing the injured boy to the hospital wing in the first place.
She sighed as she looked over to the bruised boy and winced as she watched him. It looked like he was in immense pain. Could he even breathe?! She was sitting down a chair near the bed - on the other side of the bed to where Siege was. Serena immediately stood up as she heard the boy's weak voice, "Hey, how are you feeling?" She asked him softly - her tone of voice had completely changed to how it was to Siege. It was softer and kinder - far more like her usual tone of voice. It was full of care, consideration and worry for the boy's health. At least temporarily, her anger seemed to have smoothed. Well, at least whilst she was talking to the injured boy. For Siege, she had nothing but glares - oh if looks could kill!

A Misunderstanding
Siege was quite surprised when Serena had arrived. I'm pretty sure we were alone...Unless? No Darius wouldn't do that...Serena was probably at the wrong place at the wrong time...What a pain...
"I'm sure it'd be better for Darius to explain to ya..." Said Siege, quite indifferently. Despite his attitude, he wanted to preserve the pride of the boy, wanting the boy to answer for himself. Siege didn't wanna embarrass the boy, a reason why they met privately, outside of the school. The other reason was to avoid punishment, although the first reason was the biggest reason for Siege. He knew what pride is, and living without pride is like living with no soul.
I'll wait for him to answer for himself, and if he doesn't wanna answer, I'll make up something...It was his request anyways...But that glare that Serena's giving me...What a drag, now I really do have someone who might really just hate me in this school...

A Misunderstanding
The boy coughed a little bit as he tried to fill his lungs with air, but it wasn't that easy since his torso hurt like hell because of the shot, which already caused a big bruise on his stomach. However, it didn't damage any organs, nor caused an internal haemorrhage or something similar. Fortunately, it was just very painful. His face was in the same condition: painful, bruised and swollen, but nothing broken.
He didn't understand why that student around him was worrying so much. Above all, he didn't recognise the Hufflepuff girl next to him. He didn't probably know her, he saw her somewhere in the castle though.
Her voice was very kind, caring and soft, it was like a sweet lullaby for Darius, so he smiled at her.
"I feel- ..." He was about to answer, but he suddenly interrupted himself as he realized there was another person who knew about the fight.
'Oh no! Siege might be in trouble! I have to fix this!' He thought, nervous.
Darius suddenly sat up quickly, smiling nervously and trying to hold back the big pain he felt during that gesture.
"I'm fine! I'm perfectly fine! See?- Auch..." He tried to say in a cheerful way, but his diaphragm pain made him lay down on the bed again.
He muttered something, smiling at the Hufflepuff girl.
"See? Nothing to worry about..." He said, trying to look credible "Anyways... I don't think I know you. Did you see the whole fight...? Please, I can explain!" He exclaimed: he wanted to protect his friend "He didn't do anything wrong!"

A Misunderstanding
Serena smiled softly, trying to be comforting as she continued to wait patiently for the boy to tell her how he was doing. He was about to answer, when he suddenly reacted and tried to sit up. "Wha- !!!" She winced as she watched his face. It was obviously painful - she had no idea why he was pretending otherwise. Acting entirely on reflex, Serena stepped forward and instantly approached the guy, quickly but gently placing her hand on his arm to indicate that he shouldn't try to get up. She pushed lightly to suggest he should continue to lay down. "Don't try to get up!" She scolded him, out of worry rather than anger. Her words sounded like a demand or an order but the worry and love behind them was certainly noticeable.
"Wha- Why- Huh-" The Hufflepuff started to talk but she couldn't get a word out as he rattled off questions and sentences. She frowned at him as she looked down at him. He was trying to convince her that there was nothing to worry about but... well, there obviously was. Even if he deserved to be hit, he was still hurt and it was her responsibility to make sure he was okay. Not just as a good human being or a Hufflepuff but also because of her newly appointed role as Prefect. She'd definitely be the worst prefect in history if she did nothing for a student who was beaten and bruised everywhere she could actually see them.
Serena glanced at Siege, wondering what the heck was going on. Well I say glance but there was probably still daggers coming out of her eyes and steam coming out of her ears. She was annoyed he didn't just explain the situation in advance so she could, at least, have an idea as to why Darius was reacting this way - or even know his name.
Sighing, she tried to calm him down, "Ok- okay, look, just calm down," She said, trying to hush him for a moment. Serena sighed again before smiling at him softly, "It's okay, it's fine." Serena shot Siege another glance, wondering what he meant when he said Siege didn't do anything wrong. Was Darius just afraid of Siege? Was he lying for him so he didn't get hurt again? Serena sighed, trying to think about it without letting her emotions get in the way. Was there a way she could have mistaken what she saw? She wondered but the punch Siege gave Darius was pretty clear... "Ok ok, just stay calm and explain. If it hurts too much, you don't need to do this now. It's more important that you're okay first. Siege isn't in any trouble... yet." She muttered the 'yet' under her breathe, as she had yet to decide on the matter.
She was trying to be comforting and even managed to calm down herself, enough to add a tiny joke in her words too, "You clearly don't look fine though! So you don't have to pretend to be, okay?" Sighing, she realised that her hand was still on his hand and quickly pulled it back, hoping he didn't notice. She had to stop randomly touching people! It's weird! "I'm Serena Towers, by the way - and I only care that you're okay, got it? What's your name?"

A Misunderstanding
"Huh?! She definitely just said yet! Ya heard her! Put her down I daresay!" Siege would say quite jokingly, as if hunting down a criminal or a witch.
Damn her Prefect role!(No pun intended). Now that she's got this, she might have me expelled! Or maybe even prevent me from seeing Selena! Wait...no scratch that last one, but anyways, all would bee a freaking pain...(Except for the last one...maybe...) Damn...Why do I keep thinking of a Selena?
Darius was struggling, he could see that, but the boy had resolve. Siege knew that the it was the boy's place to tell someone what he was asking of rather than himself. Siege was never overly kind, but he knew respect, and he respected Darius' resolve and his will to forge forward...Now it was time for Siege to assume the role that he had taken on once the fight or even the agreement had began.
"So...What'd you learn? I'm sure you'd have come up with a few observations..." Said Siege, in a tone that could be easily be mistaken for him just bullying Darius around, especially predictable when it comes to Sel-I mean Serena, although Siege didn't really latch on to what he might sound like, or how would Sel- I mean Serena react to him...

A Misunderstanding
Darius was actually quite flattered by the Hufflepuff girl's behaviour. She kinda looked like a worried mum and that was pretty cute. He even blushed a little bit because he didn't know her.
"I'm Darius De Amoris and... Thank you, Serena, but you have nothing to worry about, really!" He answered with a cheerful smile, hoping it would have convinced her.
She looked like she really cared about the boy, also she was really angry with Siege. Maybe they had arguments in the past? He didn't know, but it sure looked so. He looked at the other Gryffindor boy, thinking a little about his question, then he answered.
"I may have to improve my speed and... That chin-attack was so cool! You are so good! But maybe I'm still a little too weak for that... Thank you for the lesson though!" He replied, hoping Serena would finally understand.
As he stared at them, he felt the need of some cold and fresh ice on his bruises, which were starting to burn a little. His mouth was also dry and blood flavoured because of the dislocated teeth, but he smiled at himself. Maybe the Tooth Fairy would have come to take his fallen teeth! The boy rubbed his tongue on one tooth for some seconds, detaching it. He opened his eyes wide, spitting the bloody milk tooth in his hand with happiness. Then, he raised his head.
"Oh! Does the Tooth Fairy visit Hogwarts, too?" He asked with a naive, innocent and hopeful smile, not realizing that would have made Serena even angrier.

A Misunderstanding
Let's be fair - Serena just ignored Siege's joke, completely dismissing it with a roll of her eyes. The matter was still to be discussed and in her mind, it was definitely a yet. That part was the one part she had decided to reserve her judgment until she had more information. Or at least some information! In fairness, she currently knew nothing but what she had seen because Siege was being very mysterious and cryptic about the whole matter. The girl whose name is Serena - with an "r" - was focused on the boy who's name she just found out. Her care and concern was focused on him. Well, for now, anyway. "I think your bruises beg to differ," She said with a light sigh, though she was slightly teasing him too. He seemed to be able to talk a lot more easily now than before. Perhaps he was doing better than he first looked - where even breathing looked like it hurt.
She was about to continue talking to Darius when she heard Siege's question. "Wh- Learn- What?" By the last word, her soft gaze had turned into a glare and had moved from Darius to Siege. This was... a lesson?! "What do you mean, 'what did you learn'?" Serena snapped at him in a quiet but sharp voice. It was like an angry whisper. She was trying not to disturb anyone else who was around and she didn't want to cause Darius to start panicking again so she maintained a quiet tone but there was definite some anger aimed at Siege, "What were you trying to teach?!" She asked, still quite unimpressed by the whole matter, "How to get beaten up? How to get knocked out? What pain feels like?!" She continued before looking from one Gryffindor boy to the other and back again. Why is he so happy to be beaten up like this?! And that "CHIN-ATTACK" WAS NOT COOL. She probably looked pretty confused and flabbergasted in this time. "What?" She questioned Darius now - but her voice was definitely less angry talking to him and more confused now. At least, when it was aimed at him, there was no anger - just confusion, "Thanks for beating me up?!"
Serena was concerned - and baffled - to say the least. She was trying to figure it out and racking her thoughts to try and make sense of this. Perhaps she would have too, had she not seen what was in the injured boy's hand... "What the- ... ... ..." Serena stared, her eyes widening at the tooth and the blood in his hand, "YOU BROKE HIS TOOTH?!" Immediately, she turned to Siege with her full blown anger again, shooting those world famous glares at him. Unable to control her anger, she moved forward and grabbed Siege, pulling him closer to her by his clothes as she snapped at him in a very sharp tone, "Siege! What's WRONG with you?! How hard did you hit him?!" still a lot quieter than her yells earlier but the amount of anger oozing out of her words was still evident, "How would you like it if I break your face?" She threatened, trying to show that you don't go around breaking people's teeth - no matter what the lesson was!! Hell, he could have broken the poor boy's jaw with a punch like that!

She threatened, trying to show that you don't go around breaking people's teeth - no matter what the lesson was!! Hell, he could have broken the poor boy's jaw with a punch like that!

A Misunderstanding
Man Selena's pissed...I wonder what Siege'll do? Oh, wait...I'm telling the story here...Ahem....Anyways...
*She really needs to calm down...I can't have attention on me...*
The eyes of the boy wandered to the others around the room, some were eyeing them, definitely suspicious of their appearance there.
*I really need to calm her down now...she's making quite the ruckus...*
Without thinking, the boy leaned in closer to Serena, his lips almost touching her cheek, as he leaned in for a whisper.
"I'll tell you later...but can you calm down? You're drawing attention..."
The boy would whisper to her, as his hand would pat her shoulder, as if to reassure her nothing was wrong...Although...there was something wrong...
Huh? What is Siege doing? Is he like frozen in place? Uh-oh...is this another repeat of potions class? I hope not, for both Darius, Serena, and himself. But seriously...How close could this guy get?
*I hope she calms down now...For her sake and mine as well...I don't wanna get expelled on like the first week! My old man will kill me!...But, what's this smell? C-c-cute...Frick...There's that freaking word again...Did my f**king cancer come back again? Huh? What's going on?! God save me from the grip of the devil on front of meee!!!*

For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.
