Autumn Cleaning
After lunch, it was time for Griseldis to gather the groups and guide them to the two areas where there were countless fallen leaves covering the path outside of Hogwarts. Luckily, despite the chilly air of Autumn, the weather was quite sunny. Imagine if their errand happened on a rainy day, it would be no fun to be wet and sticky with leaves and mud all over their robes and shoes. And if it was on a windy day, they certainly would have difficulty to clean up the leaves.November 18th, 2019
Griseldis already sent the owls to the first group of five students, there were a few new students and a few she knew, there was one she met before. Smiling to herself, she was honestly very surprised the moment she when posted the errand and it didn't really take long until many students eagerly volunteered themselves to join her errand. Well, who wouldn't want to earn some money? She knew a lot of students would love to have enough money to buy chocolate frogs, a pet, a new broom or other magical items. So Griseldis was very happy that she could help to give her fellow students the opportunity to earn money.
She opened the entrance door of Hogwarts and walked outside to the path that led to either the Greenhouses or the Whomping Willow. The grounds were now all covered with bright orange, yellow and brown color leaves. When she arrived at the destination, she would wait patiently for the first group to arrive so that she could explain to them what they should do.
OOC: This is a private thread for the 5 students from this Errand. They were chosen to be in a group together and the other 5 students will be in another thread but the task remains the same. Those who didn't sign up for the errand are not allowed to join in this thread, and those who are on the waitlist will get an owl if one of the students does not post within 48 hours. Since Griseldis is waiting for the participants, you can interact with her but she will only stay until the whole group is there.
Griseldis sent an owl to the Herbology Teacher Professor MacTavish and requested some tools for the errand, here are the list of tools you'll be using:Please wait until Griseldis points to you where the tools are. Also, don't forget to add your word count! The deadline will be January 6th, 2020.
- 5 pairs of protective gloves
- 5 rakes
- 5 compost bins

Autumn Cleaning
When Teiki had found the errand, she had quickly signed herself up. For one, she enjoyed the outdoors. She also needed money if she were to buy the cat that she desperately wanted. But more importantly, she just wanted to be outside. Teiki barely lasted through her classes, eating as quickly as she could without choking. Finished, she quickly snapped up, awkwardly waited for a few seconds, and then ran from the table to go outside. She wasn't entirely sure why she had so much energy for an event such as this, but she decided to try to contain it by walking rather than sprinting to where she needed to be.
Leaving the castle felt amazing. The weather was perfect for spending a day outside. Not to mention, the leaves were beautiful, almost sparkling from the beams of light that rained down upon them. She softly walked on the delicate leaves, finding some pleasure in the small crackling sound that arose every so often. She glanced upwards to notice a girl, who she assumed was probably in charge of the entire errand. After all, no one else was standing on their own, simply waiting. She walked over to the girl, who seemed to be one of the higher years. Either that, or she was tall for her age. She admired the girls hair that was also loosely in buns. Blinking quickly, she smiled and waved.
"Hello, this is the errand, right? For cleaning the campus?" Teiki hoped that this was the right person, a little unsure about if her first observations were right. She glanced around to see if others were standing around, or even if others were coming towards the girls. It probably wouldn't be the first time that Teiki had made a mistake like that.

Lindsey heard about the errand and signed up. She wanted to buy this owl and also wanted save up money for the next school year. She hoped to make friends. So at lunch she eat fast and talked to her friends.
She always liked to plan ahead thats way she wanted to save money for next year. She loved hogwarts so much every little thing amazed her. So when she saw then ghost flying around the dinning hall she was amazed and almost forgot about the errand " oh crap " she said. She then took one last sip of her water and got up to leave. She pulled her hair into a high pony tail and left. She walked down the path.
She was very happy to earn money but mostly happy to help out. She saw a girl she saw before the hufflepuff common room. " hello i'm Lindsey, is this where the errand to clean up the school grounds?" she asked the girl. She put her glasses were on her head so she took them off her head and put them on her face. She smiled brightly as she was happy to help out anyway she can. "whats your name? " she asked the girl

Autumn Cleaning
Interacting with @Teiki Laurent, @Griseldis Edelhardt, & @Lindsey Bush
The air was brisk, cold, and was nipping at Piérre’s nose as he dashed over the hills of the school grounds to get to the area that had been designated for his group to do some fall cleaning. He didn’t know any of the students in his group or how they were going to react to him and his general peppiness, but what he did know was that he was more than ready to do a little autumn clearing. The reds, oranges, browns, and what remained of green leaves were his favorite part of waving goodbye to summer, and with December close upon them, heck, it was already here, he was more than ready for snow, even though the Italian was far from used to freezing weather.
Having grown up in the Mediterranean area, he was used to warm air, a sea breeze, and generally humid and hot conditions. In the four or five years he had lived in England, he still wasn’t quite used to how cold it could get, and so the tips of his pointed ears were pinking and the tip of his nose was cherry red.

Wrapping his blue and black striped scarf tighter around him and cozying deeper in to the similarly navy jacket filled with down, Piérre buried his face in the jacket in a way that would only allow his bottle green eyes to peer through, sparkling with the brightest senses of life and joy. He was definitely doing to have fun when raking or piling leaves, or composting, or whatever he was going to be doing today. He wanted to make sure that others around him had just as fun as he would.
Coming up to the rest of his group, Piérre began to wave excitedly, shouting out a muffled ”Hello!” to the three that were there. The first person he recognized was one of the Prefects of his house, Griseldis. Her red hair was near impossible to miss, and she had been the one who had sent out the advertisement for the cleaning.
The other two were unfamiliar to Piérre, but he didn’t care. He would get to know them while he was cleaning and enjoying the brisk autumnal air. He gave a thumbs up. ”Ready to start working!” He mumbled through the thick scarf, but it sounded like ”Wredi stwert werking!”. He doubted anyone could hear what he said, but that was alright, it was the funny that mattered. Laughs were what made the world go round.

Margo would’ve loved to say that the Autumn breeze at Hogwarts was just delightful, but the truth was, it felt like a smack in the face as soon as she walked out of the great double doors. She didn’t know why she expected anything different in dreary Scotland after having grown up there- perhaps she’d thought that a magic school would control the weather. It was fortunate that she’d thought to wear such warm clothing. She cut a fine figure in a dark red baggy jumper, furry black leggings and her usual scorpion earrings dangling from her earlobes. However, the real piece of clothing that set her cloaked persona apart was the hat upon her head. It was a furry, black affair, with the gaping jaws of a hungry panther and cute, innocent ears that flapped a little as she strode across the grass. All in all, she was very attached to her ferocious hat, and extremely thankful of the warmth and air of sophistication it gave her.@Griseldis Edelhardt, @Teiki Laurent, @Lindsey Bush and @Piérre Marchonné
She didn't particularly care if the small gathering of students participating in the errand thought her clothing choices strange, though maybe it’d be nice if they acknowledged her unique flair. She smiled at Gris as she approached the small crowd and caught sight of another friendly face- Teiki, a first year whom she’d met in the owlery. Meeting these other new people wouldn’t be a problem, and Margo thought it best to start with something that would be a completely honest recollection of her personality.
“Stewart, did you say?” She asked the boy with the Ravenclaw scarf and red nose. His voice had been slightly muffled when she’d listened into his conversation, but she’d heard well enough. “And Jedi?! Well, Stew, I must applaud you on your film tastes, though personally the Wookies and not the Jedi are the best in Star Wars. Being covered in fur could be extremely useful, you know.”
She grinned at the rest of the group, failing to keep a slight smugness from her smile. “I’m Margo by the way. When do we start throwing around leaves?”

Juniper was running a little behind and had a sinking feeling she'd be the last to arrive, and as she hurried down the path towards the group, she saw she was right. Fifth of a five-person group, plus Griseldis, who she hadn't met yet, but who was a prominent person in the Gryffindor community and who she recognized from the Common Room. Hopefully they hadn't been waiting long.@Griseldis Edelhardt @Teiki Laurent @Lindsey Bush @Piérre Marchonné @Margo White
But it was hard to feel too worried. Juniper needed the sickles, but she could hardly imagine a better way to earn them. The day was perfect. Crisp and cold and everything that made people wax poetic about autumn. Every time Juniper stepped out on Hogwarts Grounds, she loved them a little more, and today was no exception.
She hadn't been to the Campgrounds yet. The area was covered in towering trees and the leaves were deep enough to wade through. This was going to be fun. She'd be warm enough, she thought, in her black boots, teal sweater, house scarf and hat.
She arrived as a girl named Margo in a seriously smashing panther hat was finishing her introduction.
"Hi," she panted, trying to catch her breath. "I'm Juniper, I hope I'm not late." She looked around the group... Griseldis was the only person she could name, plus Margo of the panther hat, whose intro she'd caught. There were two other girls, and a bundle of Ravenclaw colors too layered to identify.

While Griseldis was waiting for the group to arrive, she noticed there was a student coming towards her direction. It was a girl with long black hair that goes to her waist and has bright blue eyes. Grisleids simply waved back at her and wondered which person she was in group 1. The Hufflepuff girl asked her if this was the errand, she answered her an assuring smile, "Yes, you're correct. This is indeed the errand where your group is going to clean up the leaves here." It didn't take long when she noticed another girl with a ponytail and glasses on her head came to greet them, she introduced herself as Lindsey. "Why hello there, Lindsey." She first looked at the black-haired girl then back at Lindsey, "Well, it's a pleasure to meet you. My name is Griseldis Edelhardt, the Gryffindor Prefect who posted this errand for Autumn Cleaning. You can just call me Gris instead. Happy to see you two here but we still need to wait for the other three students before we can start."
Just then, Griseldis saw a boy coming towards them. Griseldis recognized him, he was one of the Gryffindors who participated in the tea party she hosted. Seeing him not wearing the prideful red and orange scarf that symbolized their House but a smart blue and black scarf which obviously belong to the Ravenclaw House made her raised an eyebrow. She did hear rumors about a Gryffindor boy who would randomly wear other House scarfs but was surprised to see it was him. Griseldis only found it odd but not against it. After all, she wasn't the type of person who would care about other people's strange behavior or interests. But she did see him having a friendly conversation with a Gryffindor girl at the tea party so she knew he was a good kid despite his unique way of presentation. Grisleids didn't quite understand what he said through his thick scarf but he sounded excited, meaning he was eager to start the errand for sure. "Nice to see you here as well, we still need to wait for the other two students though." She explained to him politely.
Then a familiar face approached them, giving her a smile and she smiled back at her. "Oh, Margo! It's lovely to see you again. Also, like your outfit, looks really interesting." Griseldis remembered the Slytherin girl who got stuck on a tree, it was a funny memory of how both of them tried to figure out a solution together for her to climb back down from the tree. Margo seemed to understand what the boy said and talked about Star Wars with him. She did watch Star Wars before but not really a hardcore fan. "Alright, there is one more student then we're good to go!"
About a few minutes later, Griseldis finally saw someone running towards them, she believed that the person must be the last student who sighed up for the errand. The girl tried to catch her breath then introduced herself as Juniper. "Glad that you made it here, Juniper. Don't worry, you're not late at all. You're just in time." With that being said, Griseldis clapped her hands one time to get all five participants' attention, "Alright, now that you're all here I'm going to explain to you about the task in this errand. It's very easy, all you have to do is to clean up the leaves that cover the whole area here." Then she pointed to the left where the tools were, "You see those tools over there under that tree? I asked our Herbology teacher Professor Mactavish to borrow us those tools for you to use, each of you gets a pair of protective gloves, a rake, and a compost bin."
Griseldis looked back at the group, her pastel grey eyes also sparkled with excitement, "Ok, hope you all can work well together as a team. I have to go to the other side of the ground and wait for the other group now, but I will return in maybe two or three hours to see the result. I wish you a happy Autumn Cleaning." The Gryffindor Prefect waved good-bye to the first group and left the see the second group at the other side of the Hogwarts ground.
OOC: Now you all can begin to clean up those fallen leaves and while doing your errand you can interact with each other, be a bit playful and jump in a pile of leaves, collecting leaves or you can even be lazy and use spells but don't use the Fire-Making spell for the love of Merlin! Anyway, be creative! Another important note, after you reached 1000 words, yes, you pretty much completed the errand BUT you must IC wait for everyone in the group to finish their task and do not leave the thread. There will be a final interaction with Griseldis when she returns to see the group's success.

Teiki smiled, glad that she had indeed found the right place. She had thought that perhaps she would get lost on such a large campus. Soon, another girl came over, a Hufflepuff as well. She introduced herself as Lindsey, so Teiki felt it was best to respond with her name as well. She waited for the host, now known as Griseldis, to assure the girl, before turning towards Lindsey, waving softly.
"A fellow puff! My name's Teiki." While she might've seen the other girl around, she didn't know her name, so she suspected that vice-versa was true as well. She waited with the small, slowly-forming group, watching as the next person came over. The person was all bundled up in Ravenclaw attire. It seemed a little excessive for sunny weather, but even Teiki had to admit that it was starting to get chilly. Soon, Margo followed, teasing? the Ravenclaw about his muffled voice. Teiki grinned, waving at Margo, glad there was someone here that she did know. She didn't mind meeting new people, but it felt better with one or two acquaintances.
"Nice hat." She smiled, counting the number of people. 5- well, 4 errand members. Soon enough, though, the final girl came. She quickly introduced herself, allowing Teiki to take a quick mental stock. Only the Raven hadn't yet given a name. She shrugged, deciding that she wouldn't worry about it too much. After all, she could probably just use 'Raven' as a name. After all, he was the only with blue.
When Griseldis finished announcing the instructions, she started walking over to the tree, hoping that a few would follow. Sure, she was here to have fun, but still, the right materials were needed to even complete the job. She moved a rake and compost bin to the side, perching the rake on the brim. She walked over to the tree, grabbing a pair of gloves. While one went on smoothly, she had to jerk on the other one. After a little struggle, though, she managed to get both hands nicely into the gloves, happy that they didn't seem to resist her moving her fingers. She smiled, before glancing around to see how the others were faring.

Autumn Cleaning

Piérre almost snorted out loud when one of the individuals who showed up next called him Stewart and then mistook him for Jedi. He wasn’t really fond of the series, nor had he watched many of the recent movies, but he had a basic idea of what the plot lines were about. She was wearing a flippin’ awesome panther hoodie and was dressed extraneously in a way that almost reminded Piérre of himself. If this was what was the group was going to be like, well, he was excited to get to work.
It looked like his group was made up of a pair of Hufflepuff, dressed in their yellow and black attires, a Gryffindor girl who he recognized easily by a traditional Gryffindor scarf (funny enough, he didn’t have one, despite the fact that he belonged to that very house), another girl who didn’t have a house scarf but was wearing a red coat, so maybe she was Gryffindor as well? Then obviously, there was the Prefect, who Piérre knew to be a Gryffindor, for she had hosted the Tea Party. He seemed to be the only ‘Ravenclaw’ present, and the way he was bundled up, while it was a little extra at first glance, it seemed that he was both hard to understand and difficult to identify. Oh well. Being of a nationality not accustomed to cold would do that to you. Just wait until it got to the warmer seasons, he would be more than happy to be out in the blazing heat, if it ever got that warm and wasn’t raining like normal londian weather.
As of now, Piérre was ready to go to work, but only after talking to the girl who had called him Stewart. He liked people who were good at thinking on their feet like he was.
Carefully pulling the scarf just enough to talk, showing his small face, almost too young from his age and height, he smiled brightly up at @Margo White. ”Hi! Stewart Steward at your service! I can’t wait to start raking! I like the leaves, it’s the best part of England’s seasons, don’t you think?” His green eyes began to sparkle as he began to weave a new personality for himself. By now Griseldis had gone, having informed them that she was going to talk to the other group about the task she had just assigned to them, and now she had left the crazy Italian child who had just accidentally downed a full cup of coffee (it had a lot of sugar and cream to cover up the bitter taste) that morning, having mistaken it for cocoa, with his completely unwitting group members.
Smiling in the mischievous and slightly worrying way that he did, Piérre made his way to the rakes, taking one that was green in colouration, and sprinted to the tree that had dropped the most leaves (not the Whomping Willow, he would save that one for later...). He wanted to make the largest pile of leaves anyone had ever seen and then he was going to throw himself into it like a six year old boy, which he kind of was if one were to think about it for long enough.
The idea sparking in his mind, he turned back to the rest of his group. ”GUYS, WE SHOULD MAKE A HUGE PILE AND THEN JUMP IN IT!!!” The caffeine was starting to kick in, and Piérre could feel his head getting lighter as his heart rate went up by at least 30BPM. This was so flippin’ exciting and he could hardly prevent himself from jumping around as he felt himself choking up with hysterical excitement. ”I GOT THIS TREE, LET’S MAKE THE PILE HERE!” Piérre indicated tot he wide swath of land where he was currently standing. It was about two or three hundred meters from the Whomping Willow, far enough away that if he were to sneak away at any given moment, there was a large chance that nobody was going to see him. He bit his lip, pulling the scarf up again to hid the borderline maniacal smile plastered across his face from ear to ear, and then planted the rake in the ground as if planting a flag to claim a new land.

Autumn Cleaning
From what Margo deduced, their group was made up of two Hufflepuffs, a possible Gryffindor and a possible Ravenclaw. She was in full support of house scarfs, as they made a very effective method of identification, but one could never be too sure about a stranger’s identity. Going incognito at Hogwarts would be all too easy with the property of three other houses lying around, and Margo was a suspicious soul at heart. She would be watching these scarf wearers like hawks.
So when the Juniper girl rushed in a little late, Margo smiled. It was slightly disappointing that she hadn’t been last to arrive, but this time the honour could go to the girl with the pretty Autumnal name. Assuming Juniper had heard her introduction, Margo sidled up beside the scarf wearer, hoping to get some answers.
“Ello there. Awesome choice of footwear, by the way. Those boots I can really relate to.” Margo winked and nodded down at her own black leather clad feet. With another wink, she headed over to the tools that Gris had mentioned, watching as Teiki struggled with a pair of gloves. She smiled sympathetically at her friend and turned back to the pile, selecting the biggest pair she could find and pulling them on. Hopefully Teiki wouldn’t take her actions the wrong way. Besides, size meant warmth, right?
As the Stew boy reassured her theory that yes, he did desire to be called Stewart (though she couldn’t fathom why), Margo realised that she was missing the identity of one of the group members. It was a quiet, Hufflepuff girl who’s hair was pulled into a high ponytail.
“I don’t think we’ve met.” Margo smiled at her, picking up a rake.
“Oh and for your information, young Padawan,” She smirked at Stew- the boy certainly looked young, even for a Hogwarts first year. “Summer is the best season, no doubt about it. A time where clothes are light and the air is warm? Per. Fec. Tion.”
Now, Margo had thought that her efforts of communication had been enthusiastic, but Stew’s approach was on a whole other level. He practically screamed about making a leaf pile, shocking her so much that she almost impaled herself on her rake. She only hoped that he’d just raided a sweetshop that morning, and wasn’t actually insane. It would be a shame, after all, she’d started to like the scarf clad Jedi.
