Blossom Fest

While some of the students were hopeful that tonight represented some sort of storybook romance between them and a partner. Others, an outing with their peers as they go stag. Still others, a place to avoid and with the opportunity a dip in the lake and some ill-gotten beverages. Still others found no use in dancing with boys or girls, cavorting in the lake or being a glutton that consumed all the pizza or butterbeer Hogwarts had to offer. Some took this as a chance to convene without being found. With spectators painted on every wall, spectral guests that could never leave most abandoned spaces and roaming Prefects and Professors, it is no wonder that some decide to take this time as a chance to slip away.
The cabins scattered throughout the grounds were all distinguished in their own way. Some big and grand, others small, all of them locked. The Cabins all bore distinctive names:
Last year these Cabins serviced the students of Hogwarts, but right now they appeared neglected and forgotten if not a bit eerie. Out of the corner of your eye you're certain that you saw something, a shadow that flicked and moved of its own regard. There was a sound, like a whisper that was too low to be quite understood. Was there someone out here or was this the product of an overactive imagination?CABIN OF THE OCCAMY
CABIN OF THE PHOENIX
CABIN OF THE THESTRAL
CABIN OF THE AUGUREY
CABIN OF THE UNICORN
CABIN OF THE LETHIFOLD
CABIN OF THE BASILISK
CABIN OF THE HIPPOGRIFF
CABIN OF THE KELPIE
CABIN OF THE INFERIUS
This was the time to turn back.
- Yes, this is a "Solomon murder thread" in that something with go wrong. As for what, well usually you make whatever I come up with worse... so I will leave that to you.
- There are going to be two other threads made on the grounds as well that are taking place at the same time as the dance so you will only be able to be in one thread at a time.
- You may NOT start in this thread, you must start either at the lake or the dancefloor thread. You must make an entering post and then a leaving post (2 posts) with at least 2 players posting between your posts.
- You can only be in one place at one time.
- Normal catching rules (for IC infractions) are not going to be taking place here. It will be a 1d20 rolled every week.
- Normal word count minimums are expected (200 words).
- I will be making periodic moderation posts, there will not be much warning.
- This thread is limited to 5 people. Please be active in this thread because you are keeping other users out.

Aurelia had met many non compos mentis in Hogwarts and Charles York, the boy who had set the ballroom on fire was one of them. This year’s festival, even though the professors had organise the ball to take place outside instead of inside most probably to ensure event like the fire do not repeat, Aurelia who had a close up on what had happened last year could not suppress the apprehensiveness she felt as she made her way to the grounds. However, she found herself turning the other direction towards the campgrounds the moment the grand tables, fancy punch bowls and buffet came into view. She had too many scars already, she was not going to let a careless incident give her another.
The Dress she wore brushed against her calves as she walked. Her hair was braided in waves down her back. The hard uneven dirt, was not very heel friendly and she struggled to make her way to one of the bunks, careful not to twist an ankle. She was dressed for the occasion but the occasion she would not attend. The only thing she wore that was relatively out of place was her bandaged bicep, white strips of cloth wrap around the length of her arm from the elbow up to her shoulder. After the recent incident with that maniac of a boy, Kaegen, Aurelia was left with a bad gash on her arm as even magic had done very little to heal the severe wound. Just her luck wasn’t it?
Cobwebs hung along the roofs of the bunks, they probably had not been used since the summer camp last year. Each bunk was designed differently, having their personal alterations made to the magical creature they were named after. The house she was bunked in during the summer camp was the infurius, an old creepy house that was nothing like the others and honestly she had not enjoyed the experience there. Aurelia would wander aimlessly around, perhaps to find something interesting or to pass the time while others in the ball were having fun. Then a glimpse of a shadow caught her eye, like a swift movement sweeping behind one of the cabins. She was sure of it but yet wondered if it was simply her imagination that caused her own eyes to deceived her. Regardless, she called out, “Anyone there?”

Elena Jones and Anatole Evans Have Arrived at The Cabins
Interacting with Anatole Evans
Following the marauders map was easy, so Elena just dragged herself and whoever followed her along with Anatole to the cabins. Cupcakes in satchel bag, and mind racing with the fact there was a chance she just broke the damn rules. Elena wasn't entirely sure why she'd grabbed his hand but she blamed that on the tablecloth having magical mind powers of some form. Damn tartin stitching.
She was very glad to have left the whole ball area with all its glitz and glamour, that just wasn't the girl's style. Not that creepy cobweb cabins were either but they probably felt a little less over the top. Elena opened the door of the first cabin she came across, but couldn't see anyone inside, "Hello?"
Bunkbeds inside looked a little worse for wear but that was fine by Elena, anywhere with a roof over her head was fine with Elena honestly, but that didn't really matter in this situation. She pulled the cupcakes out of her bag and put them on a table-esque thing she found inside, "Got a bunch of the good flavours if you want some."
Talking to whoever had followed you was hard when you didn't really know who had followed you, but that was Elena's style.
I'm weak my love.

Interacting With:Elena JonesAnatole Evans, Elena Jangleton Has Entered The Thread
The girl trotted after the duo nearly blinking as the assortment of cabins popped into view. It was a relatively quiet place..almost too quiet."Well, this is nice."She remarked to no one in particular glancing around the area. It was a change from the buzz and noise of the dance and the general converstation chatter. She highly doubted anyone would be venturing here any time soon. They were all too bust dancing the night away or stuffing their mouths with those mysterious flavour cupcakes. The aftereffects of the beef casserole still lingered in her mouth. Something she did not appreciate to say the least. She stared at the tablecloth on the boy's head."Can I ask why on earth you have an table cloth on your head? I mean, it's not exactly the most concealing thing to be fair. It practically draws attention."In truth, how the thing had gotten onto his head to begin with was beyond her but she chalked it down to some foolish idea the boy had been crafting up.
She eyed the cupcakes Elena set out eyeing them warily glacning between the sweets and the girl."Are you sure none of them are that beef casserole one? I just had a unpleasant experience with one a few moments ago."She remarked scowling at the thought. Glancing over at the beds, the girl sat on one of them wincing as one made a creaking sound."Not exactly in the best of shape, are they?"She inquired running her hand over the covers. It was comfy at least. That in her book was good enough. Now all they needed was preferably food and some willing ears to exchange secrets with. Creepy cabin, dark night sky, what could possibly go wrong?A lot Elena, a lot.She smiled at the thought. Her parents would be beyond themselve with rage if they could see their daughter right now. Well, they weren't here and for the first time, it felt like she was experencing true enjoyment.

INTERACTIONS!
The Elenas.
MENTIONS!
Alexx Helm and Finley McGill.

Anatole was having a wonderful conversation at the ball! These few seemed entranced in his conversation (yay, he was succeeding) and they could easily be friendship potential! He found Finley rather cute, and Alexx held some sort of epic aura to her that Anatole envied. That pink thing (which he soon deciphered to be a Pygmy Puff) was a whole different level of adorable, though he thought such a being needed a more elaborate name, like Fabrizio.
However, his eyes had caught a few other, more frightening faces, so he unfolded the tablecloth and returned it to his head after instructing them not to do anything rather extravagant. He didn’t need to be noticed. Right as the white sheet covered his eyes, a bony hand grabbed his wrist and started to pull ”In the name o---” His voice was cut off as he zipped away, trying to use his other hand to pull the tablecloth from his eyes so he could make out the face of his overdramatic kidnapper. ”Wh...where are we going….who are you?” Anatole’s hand came to his face, but as the wind blew past him, the resistance made removing the tablecloth harder. He was never the strongest.
At last, the kidnapper slowed down and he was able to remove the tablecloth to reveal that they were approaching a cabin. Before Anatole could spit out a word, he had collapsed into the bottom bunk of a peculiarly familiar bunk-bed…
Yes, Anatole and his kidnapper were nowhere else but in the Cabin of the Unicorn, with its now weathered but brightly painted walls and the dimmed sense of life. Instead of the joy he once felt in the cabin, now he felt a strange sense of horror. The paint was cracked and the rainbows no longer held their brightness; the comforters were off and the trunks were out, and now it felt lonely. All of this was very different from when Anatole spent his days here last summer.
He gulped, watching as his daunting blue-haired kidnapper placed things on a table adjacent to him. As his vision came into focus, he noted that they were cupcakes, moonlit through small windows above. Anatole crawled out of his bunk with a slow breath, quickly looking back towards the door and returning his gaze to the girl. ”The...good flavours?” He questioned her as he circled the cupcakes. They looked awfully tasty, with their swirling icing and moist cake. Anatole bit the interior of his lip to help suppress the fear within him and the urge to eat a set of suspicious miniature cakes. She was only a little girl...how could she hurt him? He was Anatole Evans, anyways! He had survived the singeing of the Lock-In! ”I didn’t have much of a chance to take a bite of the cakes there…” His hands clenched the bottom of his vest as he stood in wait.
This moment was the one where Anatole noticed a second voice erupting from a darker-haired girl, who had apparently followed the duo to the eerie cabin of the Unicorn. She remarked something sarcastic and Anatole noted that he was now in a place where no one he formerly knew could catch him.
He was with the introverts. How frightening!
The vested boy gulped again as he responded to the dark-haired one’s comment. ”That tablecloth is a long story,” Anatole began, ”one that I don’t feel very comfortable explaining right now in front of two strangers, one who kidnapped me from the finest party of my life. Who are you two, anyways? Which one of you’s the devil on my shoulder?” He resisted laughing at his own witty analogy and instead eyed the cupcakes more, attempting to identify their respective flavors before one got shoved down his mouth. He grew worried as to what these two girls were up to and he grew especially curious as to where he had left his wand.

Alexx Helm Is Also In This Thread
Elena looked at Anatole and realised she had, in fact, not dragged someone she knew out of the party. At the time the tablecloth had seemed like such an Alan-Vanes-Move that the girl had assumed it to be her best friend and simply dragged him away to hang out quietly. Now this was a bit more worrying, she frowned, "Oh, I'm sorry I thought you were Alan..."
Probably not the best thing to say to someone you accidentally kidnapped, but honestly Elena was 4'7" and had no muscle tone. A light breeze could push her over, how on earth did she properly manage to drag a kid about a kilometre to the damn cabins. Ridiculous. Either the kid was somehow weaker than her or he just decided to find out what was going on.
"Yeah, I realised early that the ones everyone was spitting out were bad, so I got the ones people liked instead." Elena pointed to the cupcakes, "I suppose I'd be the devil here, as Jangles is prefect and I'm just a random street kid."
"I'm Elena Jones, that's Elena Jangleton. Nice to meet you." Elena found something to perch on and relaxed back against the wall there, wondering who the hell this kid was.

Mari kept walking hastily, trying to balance the food (small plate) and drink (three cups) she carried. She smirked as she thought about the fact that she had brought food and drink with her, as she was going quite far away from people. "I'm just bringing this for all the imaginary friends I keep writing to Lucy about," she muttered, looking downward as she said the words and just barely missing tripping over a tree root.
She reached the cabins and lowered the drinks and food down against a tree. Mari took in the sights of the cabins; each of them were different shapes and sizes. Feebly wondering what Hogwarts camps would be like, Mari imagined herself in the large cabin nearby, boldly declaring itself as "CABIN OF THE PHOENIX." She sighed. After many long months without her family, there was no way she could leave them for more time. Even if they were acting, well, strange when she came home for the holidays.
As she pondered her latest misery (as there was always some sort of misery, these days), Mari jolted. The noise reached her ears first; as she focused, she could have sworn she saw something moving...but it appeared no one else was there, unless you counted her imaginary friends. Apparently, she was wrong, though, as almost immediately she heard a familiar voice call out, nearby the Cabin of the Kelpie: "Anyone there?"
Bezu. It must have been her who made the movement, although...that didn't make too much sense, as she had asked if anyone was there. Mari still didn't know her first name, despite the fact that the Gryffindor Prefect had seen her at all of her worst moments: the party she ran away from, the daemon's attack, and now, this once serene, now eerie scene that befell her. Motioning to get her juice and food in attempts to avoid the prefect by running away, she paused. She probably should thank the girl for metaphorically and literally attempting to save her not once, but twice. As much as Mari was embarrassed, she was quite appreciative of the girl. If Mari hadn't tried to attack Kaegan and instead listened to the girl, things probably would have turned out a lot better.
She still picked up the juice and food, but instead of turning away from Bezu, she inched forward. She trotted slowly due to embarrassment but tried to make her footsteps heavy as she still was a little creeped out by the darkness of the cabins. Mari breathed deeply; maybe, she tried to reassure herself, Bezu won't remember that you blatantly disobeyed her commands that day. Maybe she's completely forgotten about the day.
Instead of opening with the party comment, Mari tried a different tactic. She extended three juice cups (all precariously held from their tops by her left hand) and perused, "Did you...um...see something?"
She was taking a risk. After all, it was not normal for anyone to see things, let alone admit them to someone else. Especially a prefect. But the girl had seemed to see something too, and Mari was curious.
Mari watched as three students, one seeming to wear some sort of cloth over them, walk into another cabin. She was slightly confused as she had assumed they were locked, but given that she didn't know anyone in this school, wondered if they were more advanced in their magic. She nodded towards them to Bezu and murmured, "Maybe it was them? What do you think they're doing, anyway..?"

Outside Cabin Of the Thestral
On instinct built within the period of almost 2 years in Hogwarts, from the thigh sheath hidden under the hem of her dress, she produced her wand. At a distant was some movement, a figure, one of the creatures of the forests probably. Aurelia doubted that it was what that she supposedly saw a few moments ago. Regardless, shadow or not, the grip on her wand tightened.
As the figure neared, she realised that it was not a creature but a person. Aurelia exhaled softly, relived. The smaller girl trotted up to her with three cups and a plate of snacks in hand. Mari, the girl she met at the party and that incident with crazy boy Kaegen Deathmoron. Once she was about a good two or three feet away, she extended her arm, offering the drinks. A kind gesture. Aurelia took one of the cups of punch. She seemed to have too many things in her hands than she could manage, no doubt taken from the blossomball. Was she expecting someone? Awkwardly, she tucked the wand under her arm. She couldn’t slip it back in her thigh sheath, not when Mari was right there watching.
Unlike her, bandaged arm and all, tragedies of the episode in the abandoned bathroom, Mari looked alright besides a few scrape like marks on her legs, magic-healed wounds of the sharp broken pieces of the exploded toilet bowl. Was she not stabbed or had her injuries been healed? Perhaps it might have been in her imagination since she was unconscious for quite some time after Kaegen’s severing spell successful hit her. Still, she felt responsible. After all, she was he only prefect then and despite her efforts, she had let Kaegen’s spell hit her and let the situation fall into turmoil, had she been more aware instead of barking orders at the uninjured to help, it would not have happened.
Her eyebrows raised when Mari asked if she saw something. The girl saw it too, the shadow but yet was unsure what she saw. Aurelia simply nodded.
“Unlikely. They’re to far away. Perhaps it was some forest creature.” She said with a shrug. Down nearby the cabin not too far away, the cabin of the unicorn if she remembered right from the summer camp almost a year ago, a few students made their way in. Aurelia hoped that they weren’t intending on doing anything funny.
Cabin Of the Thestral
“Let go in, its safer inside.” The cabin door creaked eerily as she swung it open. Aurelia peered her head in as if expecting some creature to give them a jump scare. After a few moments, she stepped in. Her heels clicking against the sturdy wooden mahogany floorboards. At least this material was easier on wearing heels than on the uneven grounds outside.
The furniture, had a French aspect to them. The tables, beds and chairs all where pale coloured and the legs were curved in a way that was common to French amenities. In the center of the room was an impressive round fireplace. This cabin was much more luxurious than the one she was house in during the summer camp. Oh how she would have preferred this than the creepy house of the Infuri.
Mari followed her inside (godmod permission given) and closed the door behind her. Aurelia plop herself on one of the six beds leaning against the walls of the room. It was surprisingly very comfortable. She took a sip of her punch, hoping it was actually punch and thankfully it was. The cupcake she took from Mari’s however, wasn’t as pleasant as she bit into it. Fish, a cupcake that tasted of seafood. Aurelia groaned in disgust, the sounds muffled by the cake in her mouth. She ran to the window, swung it open and spat it all out. “Eww, do all of them taste like that?” She had asked before sitting back down.
Spreading her arms out, she fell backwards into the bed. The hem of the dress spreading out around her. “I’m sorry about what happened. I wasn’t able to stop it being unconscious half of the time. I hope you weren’t to severely injured.”

She blinked a few times as the tablecloth was cast away to reveal a boy that she clearly did not recall and apparently, Elena did not either. Though, his accusation of kidnapping was entertaining to say the least. She had witnessed the spectacle but had not taken any part in it simply tagging along."Yep, I'm Elena Jangleton, Prefect of Gryffindor and no, I am not here to give you detention to put your mind at ease."She added the last bit as an sort of relief, most kids tended to scoot away upon finding out that little fact which was fine for her, she wasn't exactly the talkative type anyways but it did get annoying at times. "Okay, point one, I had no role to play in your presumed kidnapping, I simply watched the whole thing as it did happen to draw some eyes. Point two, stop freaking out and just relax. We're not going to hurt you but I really am inquisitve to this tablecloth story. The house-elves weren't particulary appreciative of that, you know."She said eyeing the boy warily.
She got up from the creaky old bed swatting a scuttling insect that attempted to burrow itself into her dress.Well, not only are these old but in need of a spring cleaning too."Are we expecting anyone else?"She asked the Slytherin girl glancing around. She could have sworn she had heard some other faint voices but then again, she did tend to overthink things too much.Being paranoid again."Just be glad you didn't get introduced to the beef-flavored cakes."She added to Anatole shuddering at the thought. The ingredients were a horrid combination altogether.
