The hastily erected cabins of the grounds were sparsely decorated, yet Sorrel had plenty of time to add potted plants to the interior of her own cabin, and to decorate it, before slipping out to the bonfire that was taking place on the grounds. The children who had decided to join her cabin would be welcomed into the wooden structure by potted plants, a chirping bird, and brightly colored green sheets on the three sets of bunk beds. A banner of a phoenix was outside the cabin, fluttering in the light breeze.
The outside of the cabin was like the rest of the cabins around it, discounting Lear’s, which could not be seen from the edifice of wood that had been made specially for the event and for Sorrel’s group. The ways magic worked were strange, and unknown, but had been able to produce a fine cabin for summer camp. It looked nice enough, as it should look, considering the children & Sorrel, herself, would be spending a month of their lives in the small abode on the Hogwarts grounds.
The professor had started leading the children to her cabin right after the bonfire, bottom of her pink dress already muddy and dirty from the grass. It was no matter to the professor, as she lead the students to the outside of the cabin with the Phoenix flag, and stopped. Pointing to the wooden logs of the cabin, Sorrel cleared her throat. At the start of the year, she never would of been able to talk to all the students on her own, but courage was a growing thing, and Sorrel was slowly finding hers.
“Welcome to summer camp, kids. This cabin will be your home for the next month. The easy way to remember which one it is, exactly, is by looking at the flag and remembering by that.”
Sorrel opened the doors to the cabin, exposing the green bedrolls and the green bird sitting on a small table in the middle of the room. The wooden table was hastily added by Sorrel, and was accompanied by six tiny chairs, that looked about the size for first graders. On second thought, the children might of been taller than Sorrel had assumed. Although, she had seen some pretty small students running around. Perhaps they were just half gnome or goblin? Making a mental note to someday make the chairs larger, Sorrel started at the table again. A bird stand was on it, along with a few candies from Hogsmeade that Sorrel had added to the cabin last minute.
Who didn’t like candy? Sorrel knew that she would eat all the candy if left alone, which hopefully, she would be at some point. Already, the presence of six children outside of her lessons was a bit overwhelming. At least there were no plants for them to thoroughly wreck, besides for the potted plants on the windowsills of the cabin. The windows faced the outside and front of the cabin, thus, if one was to look out of them, it was possible they would see trees, the remnants of the earlier bonfire, and any other students and professors heading to their cabin.
“Please pick a bed, and get settled. After that, we can talk about what this summer will entail.”
CABIN RULES
Please wait until the other members of the cabin have entered the cabin before posting again. Once everyone is in the cabin, posting order will be discarded, but for the welcome, everyone will need to say something before double postings are allowed.
No destroying the plants, please.
Bullying or ganging up is not permitted, you will be second years soon, act like that, not like a bunch of mongrels.
Lights out are 11 at night. Talking after then is considered "not allowed" and will be frowned upon.
Above all else, enjoy yourself. Happy summer!

Cabin Of The Phoenix
Professor Wright opened the doors to the cabin, and Mia peered in, interested. It was filled with green-from the bedrolls to green bird sitting on the small wooden table in the middle of the room. The too small wooden table. Mia was about average for her hieght, and the wooden table's chairs could in no way hold her comfortably. Mia dismissed it as one of the Professor's quirks. She could deal with it-who couldn't-this was a chance that she would maybe never have again.
Since being in her class-not her classroom, she operated in something quite more comfortable-she admired the way she stood and talked. Not always with elegance, like the DADA teacher, Ms. Scheinberg, but with an air that made Mia want to listen to her.
Turning to the table, Mia took a step closer, smiling. It had candy on it-her favorite. Mia was addicted to sugar-maybe too addicted. Still, she didn't feel comfortable reaching for the candy with everyone watching. Maybe later so they wouldn't judge her so harshly.
But now she didn't have her robes. All she had on was a white turtleneck, a jean jacket, black slacks, and her favorite Alice + Olivia purse. Her hair was down in waves, and she felt...comfertable. Thank god she didn't have to wear her robes over the summer. That would've sucked.
And it wasn't just because of her. The boys-or most of them-had decided that personal hygene was not imprtanat, and made a point of not washing their robes to the point where Mia could study them from afar and find little green specks and things growing by their armpits.
Mia shuddered at the thought and plopped down on the bunk, dragging her rather large suit case full of potential outfits under the lower bunk, still buckled.
I claim this bed.
Mia looked around at her now roommates. There was her roommate Alexx, who she quite liked, and the Hills girl, who was almost a complete stranger to her. There was a moderately tall boy-a hufflepuff-and the prefect of his house, the Towers girl. The last time she had spoken to the girl it had not gone well. Mia hoped that she would give her a second chance. And then there was a boy she had never seen before. Huh. He looked quite interesting with hair that reminded her of a child's when they rolled out of bed in the morning. She would nickname him...Perpetual Bedhead.Yes. That was a good name for him.

Mia smiled at the professor kindly and walked towards the lower bunk closest to the door and sat down. This way she could make a quick exit in case of a fire or something similar. Not that she was going to set a fire, but still. Ever since the accident with the cursed Aurelia, she had been cautious, holding her robes away from anything that could ignite them. Please pick a bed, and get settled. Cabin Of The Phoenix
Alexx entered the cabin, peering in at it. She wasn't listening much to what Professor Wright was saying, which seemed to be a habit, as she wasn't that great at Herbology (most likely as a result of ignoring her). She held nothing against the professor, she quite liked her, actually, it was just- Alexx had the worst ADD and ADHD imaginable. It was really very unfortunate.
Upon hearing the 'okay' to chose a bed (and instruction she bothered to follow), Alexx was torn. Did she take the safe route and chose the bed next to Mia, who she already knew, or did she try and branch out? Sending a nod and a smile Mia's way, hoping that she understood, and decided to take the bed centred in the middle of the room. She wasn't closed off and looked inviting. However, she chose the top bunk.
She slid her suitcase under the lower bunk, all the way over so that it was sitting under the latter. She climbed up the latter so that everyone knew she had claimed the top bunk. She hoped that whoever bunked below her was cool. She didn't want another run-in with anyone like she had at the great lake. That was awful.

Oof, so, I assume we have bunk beds? I didn't see a description stating otherwise, so... Now we do? Also, Mia, me and you keep having the same ideas. I literally have a plan to put Alexx's OOTD under every post. Life is crazy.

Cabin Of The Phoenix
Serena had absolutely no idea how to feel about spending half of her summer holidays camping. A part of her would have done anything to avoid going home. Home was fine but she would end up getting angry with her mother or her brother more often than she would have liked. They clashed a lot in personality and she always felt a bit different to the rest of the family, like she did not quite belong there. Before starting at Hogwarts, she had just accepted it - as she knew nothing else. But since being here, she had fallen in love with living with people she actually liked living with. She began to enjoy spending time with people, in particular her housemates. Serena longed for that to continue. Avoiding going back home seemed perfect.
At least, it did before she found out that they were going camping. The last camping trip had ended rather... well, let's be frank here, terribly. It was a miracle they all survived it. She could not quite forget it but she had started to accept that it had happened and that she ought to get stronger so she can avoid it happening again. "C'mon, Serena... it's just camping... No one else is scared, are they? You can do this..." She whispered to herself, trying to calm down her rapidly beating heart as she stuffed items into her bag. Serena finished packing essential items into the bag and headed out of the common rooms towards the grounds.
It was a lot quieter than usual. A lot of students had left to go home. She had no idea who had chosen to stay back and join the Summer Camp, to be honest. She did hope that a few of her friends did, though. It would have been terrible to spend the summer with people she did not know. Perhaps she ought to have paid more attention to who she was going to be spending the month with.
She had mixed feelings about Hogwarts. It scared her in a way that she didn't think was possible and yet, she longed to stay. It had taught her so much and made her grow. Even in the recent months, she had massively increased her magical knowledge and learnt a lot more than she had expected to learn. She had made friends that she really did not want to leave. She knew what her family thought of her - that she was weak, a stain on the family name. Staying in Hogwarts was a way to learn something new, gain some strength and make a name for herself.
The young girl was dressed up ready for the Summer Camp. She wore sensible shoes, which were some heavy duty boots, just in case they were expected to run again. As it was Summer, she was dressed in a pair of shorts and a sleeveless top and then threw an unbuttoned flannel shirt over her arms. She didn't wear too many accessories but grabbed her water bottle, which had been filled earlier with some cold water and attached it to her bag. Leaving the dorm, she made her way to the grounds.
After the Welcome Bonfire, Serena approached Professor Sorrel who led the ground to the newly erected cabins. The Hufflepuff spotted a few of the other students there. She did not know all of them but she certainly knew one. A grin broke out onto her previously serious face. She clutched the strap of her bag tightly and broke into a run. Without stopping, Serena jumped into a hug, throwing her arms around a boy that she had grown to trust more than anyone else. "Reid!" She exclaimed as she hugged him, probably almost knocking the poor boy over. Luckily, she was kind of light and not definitely not strong enough that they may have been okay, "I didn't realise you were staying here too!" She continued, sounding extra happy. There was a definite sense of relief in her voice. The pair had been through a lot together and she really had no idea what she would have done without him.
Instantly, Serena felt a lot more relieved and safer with him around. He had been instrumental in saving her life in the last camp out... She prayed nothing would go wrong this time but it was very comforting to have someone you would trust with your life with you, on the off chance it did. In all honesty, she had expected he would be on the first train home. Serena would not blame him if he did. She certainly wanted to leave. If she didn't dislike being at home so much, she probably would have. The Hufflepuff composed herself, grabbed her things and headed inside without further ado, "Hello Professor," She greeted the Herbology Professor as she walked past. Professor Sorrel led them to the cabins. They approached them after a short walk. Immediately, she started to search for her one. The Cabin of the Phoenix, if she recalled correctly. Spotting a banner fluttering in the wind that displayed a beautiful phoenix, she made her way over to the cabin. It had to be that one, of course - or nothing made sense anymore. Professor Sorrel opened up the doors and summoned them inside.
Serena let everyone else pick a bed, since she was not too fussed and ended up taking the last one remaining. Throwing her stuff down onto it, Serena turned to the group and looked around. She recognised a few people. She was pretty sure she had watched a number of the people duel. Running duel practices was a great way to start meeting new people, to be honest. She recognised a boy who had a funny name. He acted just as weirdly but she could not recall his name... Parasite? Something like that. He was very odd. He freaked out and ran away when she tried to see if he was okay and she had no idea why.
Then there was another girl, Alex? No... Alexander? Wait... That was her surname. Serena blinked for a moment. She had met the Slytherin girl a few times. She had seen her duel and seen her on the festival ground- oh yeah, when she had scolded everyone for trying to start fights. Serena bite her lip. Mia! That was it. Hopefully Mia did not hate her for that day...
Serena recognised the former Slytherin Prefect, Isabella, instantly though they had not spoken much before. She had been present to watch one of her duels though - which was perhaps one of the most intense duels Serena had seen. She could not forget it.
She did not, however, know any of them well. Nor did she recognise the last girl [ALEXX HELM] much to her dismay. Braving herself to speak, Serena smiled and stepped forward a little, "Hi, I'm Serena, by the way..." She introduced herself, mostly to the girl she did not recognise but also to the other three that might not have remembered her name. She wanted to continue talking and get to know the people she was going to be spending her summer with but... she had no idea what to say, in all honesty. Serena felt a bit shy and decided just to stop talking before she made a fool of herself. Mia and the Gryffindor boy whose name she couldn't recall both definitely thought badly of her already... She really did not need to make a fool of herself around everyone else too... But Reid was here, right? It would be fine with him around. At least she wasn't entirely alone.
The Hufflepuff nervously fidgeted with her fingers as she waited for the Professor to explain what the plan was for the summer camp. She really hoped it had nothing to do with forests, fires, shadows or spiders. They really did not need another one of those.
At least, it did before she found out that they were going camping. The last camping trip had ended rather... well, let's be frank here, terribly. It was a miracle they all survived it. Cabin Of The Phoenix
With a somewhat cramped smile, Parcel followed the professor up to where the cabin he was staying in where located. Parcel had been really looking forward to the summer camp. He was the only kid around his own age back home, so anywhere would be better then staying there all summer. He had also already explored everything there was to explore around where he lived, and what was there to do on the countryside, if he didn’t have anything to explore?
But Hogwarts on the other hand had things to explore around every corner! Amazing, cool and intriguing things to discover and do! So how couldn’t it be amazing to stay for another month!... well, there was one problem though…
Parcel shoot the proble-… girl a glance. He was probably the unluckiest guy in all of Hogwarts, well, he and Reid perhaps, because they had been put in the same cabin as the kissy prefect! The yuckiest kissy girl in all of Hogwarts. While the other cabins had kids that would be able to have time to explore and play all they wanted, Parcel and Reid would have to use most of their time to fend of the yucky girls advances. “Luckily for us… we have a secret plan” Parcel thought as he turned his eyes over on the other boy in this group. Reid was after all carrying a shoebox, and that shoebox contained the answer to all of Parcel and Reid’s problems, that problem-solving solutions was named Barthalomew Wormington the Third!
Parcel could feel the tension from having to live a month with the kissy prefect lessen as he looked at the box.
It didn’t take long before the group came to the correct cabin. Parcel shuffled in with the rest of the students as professor Wright opened the door.
At first, Parcel had to blink I surprise. The professor seemed to have put her personal touch on the place, this because there was flowerpots and plants seemingly wherever they could be placed. Parcels eyes slowly gazed across the room while he tried to imagine him living here for a month. The bunk beds looked cozy enough, and he would be able to live with the green bedsheets, at least they weren’t pink or something. Parcel also noticed the candy that was placed on a table in the middle of the room, he made a mental note to eat some of them later. The chairs looked a tiny bit suspicious though, almost like they were made for children much younger than themselves.
Parcel swiftly went over to the bunk bed furthest from the door. Parcel placed the green army bag he was using on the bottom bed before he turned back around to face the others. Pulling up the sleeves of the black and white striped sweater he was wearing, Parcel waved at Reid. “Reid! Let’s take this one, the top is all yours!” Parcel smiled brightly as he got Reid’s attention, at least he wouldn’t be left all alone with the girls this month.
“Oh! And you brought him, right? Come on Reid! Let me see if he has grown any bigger! Is he thicker than my pinkie yet?!” He beckoned Reid to come over to him with quick hand movements as he at the same time used his other hand to show Reid the size of his pinkie.
Having finally gotten his belongings in order, Parcel looked over at the others again just in time to see the kissy prefect introduce her self to one of the other girls. Apparently, her name was Serena, Parcel couldn’t remember the name from when she was his dueling referee, but then again, kissy prefect was a pretty fitting name for the girl as well.
Turning his attention away from the cackle of girls, Parcel went over to the table. Ready to listen to any further instructions from the professor… it might have been to get closer to the candy too… but mostly to indicate for the professor that he had settled down…
He put a piece of candy in his mouth….

Parcel would most of all like it if he and Reid shared a bunk together, so he didn’t have to sleep too near any of the girls.“Please pick a bed, and get settled. Cabin Of The Phoenix
Isabella had assumed that there would be next to no students staying at Hogwarts for half of the summer holidays. She had thought that the students would want to be at home with their families, instead of at school. The amount of students still at Hogwarts after the train had left surprised her. She had seen at least fifty eleven and twelve year olds still at school after the train had left, if not more. It was odd that so many students had opted to stay. Or at least, to her it was. She would of loved to of been at home right now, instead of stuck at school. But a few days ago, much to her dismay, she had received a letter from home - asking her if she could stay for half the summer holidays while her mother went overseas for a few weeks.
She was surprised to see the inside of the cabin as professor Wright opened the doors. Her eyes roamed around the room, taking her what would be her home for the next month. There was green. Actual green. It wasn’t like she was saying that green wasn’t an awesome colour, she was just surprised to see it. Especially in a cabin with a professor that wasn’t even a Slytherin. At least she’d feel more at home. Her scanning eyes came to a pause on a bird, sitting in the middle of the room on a dolls table. And it was green as well. Isabella had to wonder, was the professor a secret Slytherin or something? Or did she just like green a lot? While she had to admit to herself that it was a beautiful bird, she hoped it wouldn’t be staying inside the cabin with them at night. She wouldn’t be very pleased if she woke up to find green bird crap all through her hair. She knew from experience that it was horrible to try and get out. If she woke up one morning, and that bird had emptied its bowels anywhere within ten feet of her, she wouldn’t hesitate to throw it straight into the Great Lake.
The table the bird was sitting looked tiny, as if it were made for dolls. She wasn’t sure, but she thought that most of them wouldn’t be able to even sit at it without breaking it. She wasn’t opposed to breaking things, but the herbology professor probably wouldn’t be too pleased with her if ended up breaking a table. She probably wouldn’t be too pleased with her if she broke anything in general. She wouldn’t be too pleased with someone if they broke her tiny table. Tiny tables were very special. It took her a moment to realise that there was something else sitting in the table as well. Candy. Isabella hadn’t really had candy for years, not since the time her cousin had given her half of a Casu Marzu flavoured Bertie Botts bean, and her cousin knew about her stance on cheese. Especially on one that gross. She had had the misfortune to try some a few years, which ultimately lead her to her turophobia. The Sardinian sheep milk cheese was a cheese that was filled with live insect larvae. And while she usually loved bugs, she didn’t appreciate them being inside the cheese she was eating. And she didn’t appreciate them in her mouth either. But she had still tried some, even after she had been told that Casu Marzu literally translated to rotten cheese. So if that wasn’t giving enough of a warning sign, she didn't know what was. She didn’t want to risk ever having something that putrid again, so she wasn’t really fond of new food - or candy, thanks to her cousin. She would probably just end up passing on the candy for now.
Her heart dropped as she caught sight of three bunk beds. She would have to ask someone if she could sleep underneath them, or they might ask her. Did the professors expect her to actually talk to someone? Sure there were two girls from her house there - she had seen them during the school year wearing the Slytherin uniform - but she didn’t know them well enough to just go up and talk to them. Come to think of it, she didn’t know anyone in this cabin well enough to go up and talk to them. The only person she would feel comfortable talking to is professor Wright, but she wasn’t going to be known as the girl with professors as friends. Plus, professors were like flobberworms. They were perfectly fine when left alone, if not better when left alone. Looking around at her cabin mates once more, she realised there were actually boys in the cabin. She had assumed they would have girls and boys cabins - just like they have girls and boys dorms - and she had thought that the two boys were just girls, with really short hair or something. To her, boys were and always will be flobberworms. Most boys were disgusting creatures that deserved to be piled on a muggle spaceship and be sentenced back to ooglakoogla or whatever planet they came from. Most of them anyway. Isabella just hoped that they wouldn’t be those kind of boys.
While she had been thinking, two girls and the flobberworms had made their way across the cabin and chosen a bed. As she had expected, the two flobberworms bunked together. She would think them absolutely insane if they hadn’t. Not to mention a tad creepy. Well, she already thought of them as insane, but she knew what she meant by that. The two Slytherin girls had chosen two different bunks, which just left her and another girl who she recognised almost instantly. Serena Towers, the Hufflepuff Prefect. Isabella didn’t know the girl very well, but Serena had watched her duelling practice and she had heard a lot about the girl, mostly good things of course. Making up her mind, Isabella started to make her way over to the bed with a blonde girl [Alexx] sitting on the top bunk.
She put her bag down on the ground near her feet and sat down on the lower bunk. This was not how she had planned to spend her summer. She had been going to try and get her mother to take her to see her aunt in America. Just for a little bit. But her dear mother had gone without her, leaving her behind at school to rot for half of the holidays. Coming to the decision to make the best of a bad situation, Isabella jumped up and turned to face the girl on the top bunk. She moved so that she was resting her elbows and arms on the edge of the bunk, with her chin resting on her hands. If she was going to suffer for a month she might as well have some friends that can suffer with her while she does. Or they could just be friends without the suffering, she wasn’t really fussed. Looking up at the blonde, she smiled at her before speaking. ”Hello! I’m Isabella. Isabella Hills.” She hoped the girl was nice. She didn’t want to be stuck sleeping below some horrible sort of person. Even Merlin couldn’t help her if she was. Well, he couldn’t help her because he was dead, but she knew what she was trying to say.
Cabin Of The Phoenix
THE cabin was what he sort of expected from the teacher, which was a lot of plants. For Reid, he was a little worried about knocking into one of them and breaking it right in front of the woman. The only time he's really been surrounded by plants was being in her classroom at the greenhouse, it's kind of grown on him. Plus, he made a friend at the greenhouse and even had a 'pet' out of it. That pet was in a shoebox that sat in his slightly bandaged hand; the boy was always taking his horseplay to the extremes.
BUT he was warming up to the idea of sleeping with the potted plants around, there was something charming about the surrounding that he couldn't put a finger on. As long as there was no Devil's Snare around, the young Hufflepuff was pretty happy. A worn backpack hung on his back, the same one he used at the campout and it still had the marks from that day. The canvas was torn to reveal the inner lining, a dog could make quick work of it if it chose to. There were some grey marks that became permanent along with the dirt that clung onto the surface of it. The tag was gone and the loop that was used to hold it was broken. But it was full, holding all of what he needed inside.
NONE of it was clothes, which was actually in the black duffel bag that sat beside his foot. His bag carried the essentials, all of which was sent to him by his dad through in a parcel. He had a tinge of guilt with coming to summer camp, Reid spent every first month of the summer with his father to go camping. This was the biggest change so far, he was already getting used to spending time away from Derby. But whether that was a good thing or not was still left up in the air, but he was sure that there was a tinge of sadness in the letter that his dad had sent to him. But the both of them still wished him a good time at the camp, something he too wished he would have.
BUT he knew that some of the students he knew would be at the camp anyway, it wasn't going to be bad. Since summer started, he had reflected a bit on the people he made friends with and the people who he also even lost contact with. The year left a bittersweet taste in his mouth, one that was hard to dispel after all that had happened. The school wasn't a normal school, Reid figured that he would be safer to go back to his muggle school. His father would be happy, his mother would be sad about it, and his life might return to normalcy as it was. But after what he saw and what he's been exposed to, the prospect of going back was sounding less and less appealing.
WAS it excitement? Or did he actually feel like this was where he belonged? It was a little bit of both, this was an unspoken commitment he signed himself for. The perpetual danger he went through was forcibly disregarded with the thought of being around Hufflepuff, his friends, his professors, and the magical world. This summer camp was a solidifying statement of that, he could have easily asked to go back to Derby and even just asked to never come back to Hogwarts. If he never found the friends he had now at the school, his answer would have been a resounding cry to try and integrate himself into muggle society. But Reid wanted to stay and that was that. So here he was, awkwardly standing not too far from two girls he didn't really know. There was no indication of which house they even came from and he didn't recall seeing any of them in his common room.
HOPEFULLY, he could get along with strangers, but he wasn't going to leave out the fact that it could just be an awkward one month. It would be a hellish experience if he had to bunk with a girl though, Reid didn't know how he felt about it. Cooties, they called it. He didn't really believe it, but maybe it was a magical sickness. But Parcel was part of the group and unconsciously gravitated an inch or two towards the Gryffindor boy as a result. Someone he knew! At least he didn't have to be a stranger to everybody now. But just because he knew someone, Reid was still quite curious of knowing who else might be occupying the rest of the four bunks. That was until he heard the familiar scream of Hufflepuff's prefect, his personal favorite one too. Although, he was aware that Parcel was terrified of her because she was the 'kissy prefect' - the one with the cooties.
DID she have cooties? Well, she hasn't kissed him so far and the thought of that actually scared the soul out of him. The boy whipped around with the most foolish grin he could muster to meet her enthusiasm halfway. Wait! She was coming in for a hug; the boy stretched one arm away that gripped the shoebox with ease. If he didn't, she would have crushed poor Bartholomew Wormington the Third in his own home. Yes, that was the name that he and Parcel agreed with and he found it hilarious to mention to anyone who even asked. Reid would barely get through mentioning the name without nearly bursting into a fit of laughter about it.
"SERENA!" he boyishly grinned, pulling her into a hug as she did with him. His one arm was slung around the girl whilst the other was holding Bartholomew at a safe length and away from harm. So he knew two people, it wouldn't be too bad to get the know the other three. But as friendly as he seemed, Reid was deathly afraid of introducing himself sometimes. Much of his introductions were initiated by the other party and even then, he was afraid of making a fool of himself to other people. "You're here too, brilliant."
THE Hufflepuff stepped away as she did so and listened to Professor Wright as much as he could, but the boy looked like he was bouncing off his feet. A spark of excitement danced across his eyes, accompanied by a crooked grin that he was trying to suppress, besides it seemed uncool to be too eager. His own enthusiasm was sometimes met with odd looks, but that didn't exactly deter Reid from acting like himself. Once the woman had cut them loose, he snapped out of his stupor at the sound of Parcel's voice calling his name.
PERHAPS he might seem a little barbaric, but the boy loudly exclaimed, "Top bunk, yes! You're awesome, Parcel." Reid scrambled over, leaving his duffel bag on the floor as he came to set his things down where Parcel had done so. But the boy took the shoebox with him and set it on the table to sit down. "Actually, he grew longer, really really long. He's like, this long!" The boy pulled the slightly torn green sweater he wore up to his elbow and made a gesture from his wrist to half of his forearm. "It's crazy and - oh hey. Candy."
THE boy picked up three pieces, unwrapping two that he put into his mouth. Maybe his hands were dirty from the dirt, maybe they weren't, he didn't really know. It was easy stop him from gabbing so much and he was close to winding himself out anyway. "Thanks, Professor." But the boy settled down, forgetting to even introduce himself to the others as he tried not to gab anymore so that the Professor could take over.

Alexx smiled politely at Isabella, waving. "Bonjour, je m'apelle Alexx Helm, à votre service." She introduced herself in French as she always had. Despite only living in France for around four years, she carried a thick accent. She spoke English very well and was arguably better at it than French, but the French tongue paraded around in her mouth elegantly and naturally. It was like a second nature to her; she didn't even have to think about it, it just happened.
Isabella seemed nice, and she was happy to have someone who wasn't rude as her bunkmate. She then turned her head towards Serena, another girl who had introduced herself, and she smiled, nodding. "Enchantée." She greeted, never once wiping the smile from her pale face. She realized that not everyone spoke French, or at least wasn't fluent in it, but she was sure her message was getting across. In an everyday conversation, she would talk to them in English, as she didn't wish to confuse them or seem impolite. But to her, as she was, at one point, a citizen of France, this was the most polite way to introduce herself. Now, however, she had to focus on an attempt to be British. Ever since she had moved to Manchester, and then later became a student at Hogwarts, she had tried to become more accustomed to British ways. It was poor and clumsy attempts, but she got by.
From the corner of her eye, she could see two boys, the only two of which were dorming with them, conversing. She hadn't seen either of them around before, and she thought of introducing herself, but the chatty one, who she vaguely remembered to be a Hufflepuff, was talking a mile a minute, so she just chuckled and let them be. When the time came, she'd politely introduce herself. Until then, she'd allow them to catch up and stay in their own little world.
The blonde Slytherin swung her legs over the bunk and jumped down, landing elegantly on her feet. She then stuck out her hand for Isabella to shake. "How do you do?" She spoke, this time in English. Typically, Alexx didn't shake hands, but the more she spoke to and met people, the more she realized that this was the common form of greeting. It was different, as she didn't socialize much, at least not before she came to Hogwarts. Still, she had made a small name for having a few enemies so far, and the last thing she wanted was to upset the people she'd be with for the next few months. After being punched in the face by a hotheaded Gryffindor, she had already had her fair share of fights, verbally and physically.
Although she didn't suspect she'd have to worry about that much. Each and every one of the people in the cabin seemed polite and friendly, which made her internally sigh with relief. She was secretly glad she wasn't going to have to bunk with another Lilith Westlocke, as that unfortunate library run-in had all but broken her nose. She could only be thankful that this summer seemed to be starting off peaceful.

Cabin Of The Phoenix
Overall, the camp experience had been less than interesting, and December was looking forward to putting the lights out on this uneventful day. The fire was oddly calming, and she was starting to feel a bit drowsy. There was sure to be a plentiful day of activities and sunshine ahead, and she knew it would be important to rest up.
It didn’t take long for them to arrive at the cabin, and December’s face lit up with a grin as they approached. At first, she had only been avoiding going home, but she had actually grown to like the idea of being at a summer camp. The fresh air might do her some good, and maybe she would be able to get to know some of her fellow soon-to-be second years a bit better. Hopefully she could even make some new friends? Who knew. At any rate, it was still 1000 times better than going back home.
Still in good spirits, she peered around the room for the most ideal location so she could claim that bed as her own. She was just about to toss her bag onto a nice one in a corner when she saw something that made her stop dead in her tracks.
There was a Hufflepuff boy, one of Eris’ friends from earlier if she wasn’t mistaken, that was setting his things on one of the top bunks as if he belonged there. Right next to him was another boy from Gryffindor who also looked like he was definitely planning on staying the night.
December’s eyes grew wide and her body stiffened. Her heart pounded in her chest, and her ears were suddenly filled with a high-pitched ringing. The colors in the room started to change as fear poured into her gut before quickly melting into rage.
She clenched her fists, allowing the feeling of her nails against her skin to re-center her before glaring at the Hufflepuff boy. ”And just what do you think you’re doing here?” she snapped. She didn’t wait for a reply before turning to the Professor. ”Excuse me, why are we allowing boys to sleep in the same room as girls?!” Her tone was accusatory and her gray eyes were filled with daggers. She looked back and forth from them for a moment, desperately trying to figure out what she was going to do. ”This is unacceptable,” she spat, shaking her head and hastily clutching her bag to her side. ”There’s no way this can be safe,” she muttered.
December was acting on pure instinct, and she did not care what consequences she might face in that instant. She was not sleeping in this cabin, and that’s all that mattered to her. She burst back through the door and tossed her bag to the ground. She hastily yanked out her dark grey sleeping bag and began to set up camp amidst the hard dirt and the pointy rocks. Let the trolls, werewolves, and hags come find her, she didn’t care; as far as she was concerned, she could take them. It was the boys she had to watch out for.
