Sleep Yoga
For Errand: Sleep Yoga
Hjørdis sat on the far end of the room on a mat. They did not really have yoga mats in Hogwarts but she managed to find a bunch of soft mats that would work for the day. They were not slippery and allowed a little comfort, rather than sitting on the cold floor. It was also a little softer than usual. The Head of Slytherin was dressed in a black long sleeve t-shirt and a pair of black leggings. She stretched her arms over her head, bending to each side before sitting cross legged on the mat.
Students were invited today for a slightly different activity, shortly after dinner. They had approximately thirty minutes to change into something more comfortable before they came to the rehearsal room for a relaxing session of sleep yoga, which would hopefully help them relax a little. She had spent a lot of time struggling to sleep. It was a combination of the lack of time to actually sleep, resulting in short sessions of 'naps' rather than a proper night's sleep whilst mixed in with reoccurring nightmares. Hjørdis knew that the students were also getting affected. It was not just her. Everyone was being attacked - physically, emotionally, mentally. It was draining and exhausting. People needed a break. They needed a chance to rest, they deserved a good night's rest.
Stretching a little before bed was not only good for relaxation, it also keeps their muscles flexible and helps them in their daily activities. She waited for everyone to arrive before she started the session, "Good evening. Take a seat on any free mat and make yourself comfortable," She started the session, greeting everyone. The mats were already laid out around the room, and there was a stack of more mats as well as some other items such as pillows near each one. She would instruct them when they might want to use it. For now, they were invited to sit upright on the mat and just make themselves comfortable.
The set up of the room was done by Caradoc Browne. Lets be fair, she could have used magic. But it was much more entertaining just to get him to physically drag all the mats there. It gave her the opportunity to smirk at him and mock him when he seemed to be getting tired of dragging the large pile of mats. Probably did not help that she just sat on top of the stack at one moment, and expected him to drag the whole stack with her on top of it too.
Starting out, Hjørdis invited them to take a few deep breathes in their upright position. Inhaling deeply, exhaling slowly through their nose. She asked them to close their eyes, repeating this breathing five times. "And inhale... And exhale..." She would instruct them, "Focus on the breathe going in and out..." After they had repeated this for a minute or so, she continued, "Now open your eyes. We'll start by moving into the sleeping swan position."
She moved to adjust her own position as she explained. Picking up a pillow near her, she lifted it to show that the students might want to grab their own ones and placed it down in front of her. "Bend your left knee, careful to bring the sole of your left foot to your right inner thigh. Lifting off the floor a little, extend your right leg behind you. Try and stay centered, holding your hips forward slightly. Place your head onto the pillow and extend your arms forward. Bend your elbows a little and hold. Breathe in and out through your nose slowly. Hold this position for at least eight to ten breaths. Once you have done this, you can roll back up, switch legs and repeat this for another eight to ten breaths. Make sure you do the same on each side." Hjørdis explained verbally whilst demonstrating.
Allowing her head to sink into the pillow, she closed her eyes and inhaled deeply. She exhaled allowing the tension to flow out of her. Caradoc was also in the room, doing something. She mostly ignored him, trying to focus on actually teaching the yoga. But... he was going to talk through this wasn't he? She felt like he would. Ahh, she was getting distracted. Inhaling deeply again, she took a few moments to try and focus on her breathe. And exhale...

Mars had heard the announcement for "sleep yoga" from the chatter of the Ravenclaw table during dinner. Apparently, the students had thirty minutes to head up to their dorm rooms and change before meeting Professor Jensen and Professor Browne in the Rehearsal Room. A fair amount of Ravenclaws were already raving about how much fun it would be.
They sighed. This was the one thing they were iffy about when it came to their house. Only Eagles could fangirl about yoga. How did it even work? Was everyone meant to gather together and—sleep? Was there some kind of spell to first conjoin their brains and then make them do yoga in their dreams? It seemed like an invasive principle at the very least.
Mars finished their food quickly and pushed the chair out, getting to their feet. Ideally, they'd be able to beat the rush up to the showers. They made their way quickly up to the Ravenclaw dorm rooms and grabbed a set of robes. Then, they disappeared into the showers.
----
When they emerged, hands still wringing out the moisture in their hair, the dorm was a flurry of action. Sure, a fair number of the witches were sprawled out over their beds, reading books or burying their faces into their bedsheets, but there had to be at least an eigth that were hurriedly yanking clothing out of their trunks.
Mars watched with an eyebrow raised as the majority of them donned skin-tight pants and loose tops. They were wearing something decently similar; black shorts and a tank top, their usual sleepwear. But all these witches wearing pants? That was a new one.
Mars heard the murmurs of "Rehearsal Room" and "sleep yoga." Oh right. They'd somehow managed to forget about the strange "sleep yoga" whilst in the shower. That only confused them more. Why dress up in exercise gear if they were only going to go and sleep? Shouldn't they be dressed in pajamas?
Listening to the chatter, they shook their head. Well, if it made them happy. They—on the other hand—were going to regular sleep. But as they made their way over to their bed, one of the girls shouted, "Hey! We've got five minutes before we're late!"
Here's the other thing about Ravenclaws. They hate being late. The dorm went up in a frenzied scramble. The clothed witches rushed out the dorm. Mars' yelp was swallowed up by the crowd as someone caught their arms accidentally and dragged them all the way down the stairs.
----
Well. So now they were here. The Rehearsal Room had been set up with dozens of mats littering the floor and more stacked up in the corner. Professor Jensen was stretch on a mat in the corner, black legging and long-sleeve tee shifting with her motions. Professor Browne—that must have been him, though they'd never formally met—was there as well, looking... out of breath? Maybe? Had he done something physical?
Shaking the thought away, they surveyed the rest of the room. The mats seemed like a decent place to sleep on. Probably slightly more space-conserving than cots or beds. Many of the Ravenclaw witches had already picked a spot, chatting with friends. The girl who had dragged them here, apparently not realizing that Mars was not her friend, had disappeared somewhere into the crowd.
They back up to the door of the room. This seem fine and dandy and they were sure Professor Jensen and Browne were more than capable enough to not destroy everyone's minds in the process of performing "sleep yoga," but also, they'd like to keep their thoughts to themselves. They didn't need a hundred sweaty wixes doing child's pose in their brain.
Still, they couldn't bring themselves to turn out of the room. Maybe it was their curiosity, the desire to actually see if Professor Jensen was going to spell everyone to sleep begging them to stay, but regardless, they remained in the back of the room, furthest from the two professors, with their arms crossed over their chest.
As Professor Jenson began with greetings and then moved into instruction, they made a little noise of disappointment. So it was just normal yoga. Why label it sleep yoga then? They had wanted to see everyone just suddenly knock out cold. Maybe in their head they had envisioned a white-wisp connecting each of the wixes brains together so they could share dreams. God, they'd watched too much Inception.
But no, it was just Professor Jensen carefully explaining a yoga pose. Well, trying to carefully explain anyway. They stared in utter confusion as she tried to verbally convey the pose. It was only when she actually folded herself into the Swan that they actually understood.
It must have just been yoga for sleep then. Benefits of stretching and all. Still a little disappointed, they leaned back onto the wall. Well, they were here now. Might as well watch everyone look like fishes out of water for a while longer.

Caradoc was in a superb mood today. Grinning widely as he walked around carrying floor mats into the rehearsal room. While Nora was seemingly doing her best to get him to work harder than needed, especially since both of them could have used magic, he could not care less and happily indulged her little enjoyments of his labour. While dragging one pile with her sitting on top of it was a bit of a stretch to the man, he would have his own fun with it as he lifted both her and the mats up in the air and placed them somewhere in the back of the room.
Now he was waiting at the side of the room, near a window. Softly humming a tune of some song he heard earlier today. Wearing a white tank top and black baggy trousers with yellow stripes down the sides, the man might have actually looked the part for once. Winking at the professor who was waiting up front, he took his own position amongst the students. The mat wasn't a particularly comfortable thing, but it'd do.
The Hufflepuff Head of House knew exactly what his Slytherin counterpart would be expecting of him. After all, he had been pestering her for months on end now. There was a simple dynamic between him and her: She was quiet and internalised every bit of thought she ever had, while he could never shut up. It is why he very much expected her to yell him out the room with the first sound he'd be making during this yoga lesson. No, she would not yell at him per se. But if her eyes could kill, he would for sure lose his head today.
With a satisfied smirk on his face, Doc took position and followed Nora's instructions carefully. Not making a single peep while doing it. No humming, no laughing and especially no talking or singing. Nope, all was quiet over where Browne was lying about. He honestly wondered how long he could keep it up. As he knew the longer he did, the more she'd grow suspicious. Or perhaps he was simply making things too fun in his own head. Regardless, he would not mind going about his plan. If she had her fun earlier today, now was his time to test the limits of hr character.
If you're reading this... You're awesome.

Rosalind had been on edge for days. She felt as if the gigantic walls of Hogwarts were slightly closing her in, piece by piece. Rosalind had felt slightly sleepy and distracted for days, but could never catch up on some well deserved sleep. Her mother’s letter had been plaguing her mind, time and time again. She’d been wondering how things were back at home. Had her father really been missing or had this been a misunderstanding? She slightly shook her head. Everything would be alright, just as always. She just needed something to ease her mind and take the edge off of it.
When she had heard about the Sleep Yoga from her fellow giggling housemates, she wanted to give it a try. One of the girls had called it an ‘utterly relaxing and fabulous experience’. Well, after such a description Rose really didn’t think it could be that bad. Even if she wasn’t that flexible or good at other sports. Maybe this could be her cup of tea and hopefully a relaxing one at that.
When Rose heard they only had 30 minutes after dinner to get ready and get to the rehearsal room she felt slightly startled. She better hurry on then. After the feast, she practically sprinted towards her common room and her chest. There she began carefully selecting what she wanted to wear. From an early age, she had been taught that an appearance could make a lasting impression and that it was vital for lasting long in the business. Being presentable had always been one of the many ground rules her family had. After all, others would be present at the class and she should make a good impression on them.
Rosalind looked around her room and quietly cursed her roommates for the mess. There had probably been another prank war in here. There were clothes all strewn over the place and there even seemed to be some mysterious purplish slime covering most of the bedposts and furniture. Rose felt slightly annoyed that it had happened without her, but still she wouldn’t have been up for it. She felt too drained the last few days, there had been too much to think about.
She hovered above her chest and dug in. She laid out her cosiest, but still lovely, pyjamas and quickly braided her hair. She gave her messy room one more look before turning her back to it. Just as she was leaving she remembered to put on a robe and her fluffy slippers, so that she wouldn’t be prancing around Hogwarts in her pyjamas.
Then she quickly hurried down from her common room, not sure if she was still on time. As she entered the Rehearsal room she could see that some students had settled down already. There had been different soft mats arranged around the room.
“Good evening. Take a seat on any free mat and make yourself comfortable.” The professor had proclaimed. After permission from the professor, Rose also settled on a soft and comfortable mat. She was quite pleased. Her mat was a soft pink, matching her pink fluffy slippers. Rose laid her robe on the edge of her matt, so it was close by, but still out of the way.
As the professor started her lesson, the veela intentionally focused on every word the Head of House said, letting the lull of it guide her through the actions and hopefully towards a good night’s rest.
Rosalind sat dead straight on her little mat and closed her eyes. Following the Professors instructions Rose began to inhale and exhale with the other students. She imagined waves rolling forward and on, closer and closer until they subsided again. In and out. In and out. Rosalind loved this. Her shoulders already sagging a bit and her upright position became slightly more comfortable.
After some time, the actual positions were explained. Rose tried to replicate her fellow mates positions, while glancing simultaneously at the professor. The first steps were quite simple, but she still felt she needed to repeat them in her head. It was probably the tiredness playing up again, but still. This couldn’t be so hard. The veela felt as if her balance wasn’t the best, as she actually had to focus to stay in position until she could place her head on the pillow and extend her arms forwards. This position felt so relaxing already and the pillow actually didn’t feel too bad either . Rose wondered if she could continue doing this even if the lesson was over. She could try to fit it into her nightly routine and hope that it stayed this relaxing.
Rose’s mind slightly wandered back to the waves. Off and on. Coming closer and retreating again. Such a lovely image. Rose felt truly relaxed now. She loved every minute of this.

Yoga outfit:

Fyriel had finished dinner and gone back to her dorm to change into something comfortable. Tonight there was a Sleep Yoga session she was welcomed to take part of so she happily went on her way to the Rehearsal Room. Subconsciously showng off her Hufflepuff-pride Fyriel wore a long-sleeved, yellow cotton pajama top along with a pair of black and yellow striped leggings she entered the room. In her arms she held a soft white blanket to do yoga on because she wasn’t sure if there would be any mats. When she entered the room she saw there were mats spread over the floor and picked one close by her Head of House, professor Caradoc Browne, who was also attending this yoga session. Fyriel nodded at the professor and greeted him in a whispered tone,” good evening professor”. She then spread her white blanket over the floor mat and smiled at professor Jensen at the front of the class so show her she was excited about this evening gathering.
First the yoga started with a calm breathing exercise, Fyriel closed her eyes as she was told and listened to the instructions of professor Jensen. She also heard the others in the room who followed along with breathing on the rhythm of her voice. After doing this for a couple of minutes they could open their eyes and start with the first yoga pose. This would be the sleeping swan position. Fyriel had done yoga before with her mum in her home living room, they would listen to a recorded voice on a CD, but she had never heard of the sleeping swan position. Therefore, Fyriel listened closely to professor Jensen’s explanation. The young Hufflepuff noticed the professor grabbed the pillow next to her mat so Fyriel looked around and found one herself close to her own.
Ready to start the yoga position Fyriel bent her left knee underneath her torso, the sole of her foot touching her right inner thigh and stretched her right leg down the length of the mat. She placed her face down on the pillow and stayed in this position for the next ten minutes or so. Slowly breathing in… and exhaling out… After feeling the relaxation of her muscles and mind she then unfolded her body from the Sleeping Swan position and did it over again, this time mirroring the movements to do the other side. Fyriel felt the effects of yoga already taking part. She felt so calm and at ease. No worries flooded her mind, no thoughts of due homework assignments or personal goals she had yet to achieve. While relaxing and controlling her breathing Fyriel noticed how quiet the room was. Out of the ordinary quiet, especially since professor Browne was next to her. He had a tendency of livening up the room but I suppose he realized for a Sleep Yoga session, quiet and peace were an important aspect. Fyriel slowly turned her head to see how Caradoc was doing, he was performing the yoga position very well considering how flexible one must be for this. He didn’t even let out a sigh or a grunt. Wow, he’s really trying to keep quiet. Fyriel couldn’t help but let out a soft chuckle and soon after hoped it wasn’t too loud. In a swift movement she turned her head back down, face into the pillow to cover another nervous chuckle.

Cassie can not help to eavesdrop when some of their Slytherin Housemates mention about "Sleep Yoga" during their dinner at the table. Some of their housemates want to join the event and asked the green eyes girl if they want join them as well. Although Cassie did not particularly close or know some of the girls, they nodded their head anyway.
One by one the girls come back to their own respective dorm that includes Cassie too. One of the girl that they shared their dorm room with, tell them that the event will take commence in the Rehearsal Room. Cassie wait until their turn to take their shower. Upon emerge from the bathroom sporting loose long crop top beige hooded jacket and some skin tights pants, the bunch of Slytherin girls walked out from the Common Room and stride their paces to the Rehearsal Room. Upon arriving at the Rehearsal Room, the room already occupied with some of the students.
Their Head of House seems the one who suggest this exercise along with Hufflepuff Head of House. Cassie look around to the available spots. The room have somewhat a yoga mat like and pillow on the mats. Lately they seeing the white hair woman actively initiate in this kind of event. One particular face stood among the student.
Cassie approach their friend. "Fancy seeing you here, Mars"Exclaimed the now purple haired girl in a hushed tone. In the background Professor Jensen voice instructed the students and Hufflepuff Head of House to do the first pose. Cassie sit crossed legs. Breath in and out as what Professor Jensen told them to do so.
Cassie never done yoga in their life before so this event is new for them. Then Cassie followed the instruction for the Sleeping Swan Pose should like. Their head touch the pillow and they smelled fresh clean sheet on the pillow cover, which is weird. They extended their arms forward, bend their elbow and hold the position.
They do their right side first. They breath in and out eight until ten breath. The voice of Professor Jensen make them a bit drowsy but Cassie force themselves to stay awake during the activity.

Sleep Yoga
The third year had never done yoga before but he assumed it was a bit like meditating just more fun because you were actually supposed to move around. He had been instructed to meditate for a while by the charms professor but that activity had quickly grown boring after doing it for a while. But even if it did not sound that fun like the relay errand, Alan could at least earn some points for his house in this way and decided he would give it a try anyway.
After his dinner he had made his way to his dorm to get dressed in some comfy clothes that he sometimes was wearing as a pajama and picked up Tiger after having fed the cat with some delicious meat. He usually took some from the lunch time feasts so that Tiger could eat some yummy fresh meat and more often than not he asked the house elves if they had some food for his cat to spare simply because Tiger was a gourmet and would only eat the finest of meals... and treats. But he couldn't just feed him cat treats all day because he also could not just eat only candy after all.
As he reached the Rehearsal Room he noticed that not too many students were there yet and nodded towards the professors as if to greet them before he snatched a free yoga mat in the middle of the room and patted on it so that Tiger would follow suit. "We gotta do some yoga, Tiger, alright?", he informed the feline who meowed as if he understood what had been said but simply curled up on the pillow close to the Gryffindor's yoga mat which made the third year snort with amusement. He quickly quietened himself and sat down on the chosen mat and offered the professors an unsure smile.
He decided to ignore his cat for now and straightened his back as instructed by the professor and began to breathe in and out. There did not seem to be much special about this thus far but he had told himself he would give it a try and really wanted to keep the promise to himself as he glanced at the two head of houses while he attempted to focus on his breathing. This task so far reminded him of meditation and he wondered when they would get to the moving around part.
Right as he had finished the thought the professor began to talk again and began to slowly instruct them what to do. Thankfully she was doing the yoga pose as well which allowed him to somewhat replicate it. It was a little difficult with Tiger in the way and his fur tickled his nose as he tried to reach over the cat to still somehow manage to do the pose. He nearly let a giggle slip as he tried to nudge Tiger out of the way with his hand but the cat did not budge from the curled up position.
With a sigh the third year gave up on his attempt to move the cat and instead leaned back again to switch to the other leg and repeated the task again. He leaned forward with his arms extended and balance allowing him to not fall to the side as he simply rested his head onto Tiger's back rather than the pillow the cat has claimed as its own.

Sleep Yoga
Nell had heard the announcement of a new activity called "sleep yoga" while she was sitting at the Ravenclaw table. She hadn't eaten anything for she "wasn't hungry," but always came to dinner anyway. She thought about this "sleep yoga" for a couple minutes before deciding to do it. She wasn't quite sure why this was being done for the students, but it was good anyway. Nell had barely slept at night. Going to bed at four o'clock in the morning wasn't probably that good for a twelve year old who had a long day of classes ahead. "Go to bed earlier," her mother would probably say. The problem was, she just couldn't go to sleep earlier. Her mind came back in to focus when she heard the participants would have only thirty minutes to get ready for the activity. When they were dismissed, Nell scurried up to her dorm and into the showers.
After a good five minutes, Nell ran out of the bathroom. She was dressed in plain black leggings that fit snuggly around her legs, a loose white T-shirt that was cut just below her bellybutton, and white sneakers with the laces already done up. The outfit was very comfortable, at least comfortable enough to do yoga in. She wasn't sure how she would sleep, but Nell might as well give it a go. She began to dry her thick brown hair with a towel, draining the ends of all the water. When it was good enough, by this she meant not soaking, she put it up in a low ponytail. Again, she drained the ends with a towel just to make sure. With that, Nell scurried down to the rehearsal room. She hoped it was the right place. Nell had heard other students talking about the rehearsal room so she guessed it was. Oh boy, she hoped they were right.
Nell finally got to the room and walked through the large wooden doors. In front of her there were mats that looked somewhat soft. There was a small variety of color, some mats a soft blue, others a pale yellow, some white, and a few were a pale pink. Nell realized all these colors were supposed to be soft and dreamy in a sense. She also saw more mats stacked on top of each other in the corner of the room. Nell walked over to a soft blue and took a seat. Should she remove her shoes? She wasn't sure, but she did anyway. They wouldn't want dirty shoes on the clean mats, would they? She assumed not. There were a good amount of students in the room. There were students young and old and from all different houses. They all shared one similarity, however. They all looked as if they were sleep deprived. The students there all waited until the thirty minute limit was up, then they started the "sleep yoga."
Professor Jensen started by demonstrating a pose which Nell had great difficulty in doing. She looked around to see if anybody was successful. Not to her surprise, many people were doing it quite well. Nell wasn't very flexible. On that thought, Nell Zoldak wasn't the least bit flexible. She tried to perform the pose in the way Professor Jensen had said to, but it was no hope. Nell tried her best, but ended up looking more like, well, she didn't quite know, but it was most certainly not a swan. Not even the slightest bit. After the pose, the group of students inhaled and exhaled slowly. Nell began to feel quite sleepy, but at the same time, she couldn't sleep. Why was it always like this? She closed her eyes and kept her breathing at a consistent rate. She still couldn't fall asleep, as much as she tried.
Nell eventually began to fall into a deep, deep sleep. It wouldn't last long, however, it was something. She hadn't slept this well, in, what, ages at least. Between schoolwork and clubs, she could never find time to set aside for herself. She was always running away to the study room to study for an exam, be in one of the classrooms for a class, be in the Great Hall for a "meal" at which she didn't wat at, or be a club meeting. After all of that, there wasn't nearly enough time for a good night's sleep, not even in the slightest. She lay there in a deep, yet dreamless, sleep. Nell rarely had dreams. It was always nightmares. This time, however, Nell had nothing. Not a nightmare, and not a dream.
Nell woke up to see other students arising from their slumber as well. She guessed she wasn't the only one who was so sleep deprived they just crashed. She wanted to fall back asleep but decided against it, knowing it would most likely be a waste of her precious time. She let out a slight yawn and stretched her thin arms. She clasped her hands together over head and placed them atop her head of hair. She leaned to right, then to left. She had always done a simple stretch when she woke up, and tonight was no different, especially since it was "sleep yoga." Actually, Nell had done more sleeping than yoga, which may have benefitted her more than the other way around.
Nell stood up after a couple minutes and stretched yet again. She saw other students begin to do the same, as they were all quite ready to leave. She brushed herself off and pulled up her legging more for comfort than anything. She began somewhat short walk back to her dorm and plopped down on the bed. The sun was beginning to rise, meaning her and the others had slept there pretty much all night? Nell wasn't mad the least bit. She needed that decent sleep, and she had finally gotten it. Finally, and it was all thanks to the oh so very kind Professor Jensen and Professor Browne.
After a good five minutes, Nell ran out of the bathroom. She was dressed in plain black leggings that fit snuggly around her legs, a loose white T-shirt that was cut just below her bellybutton, and white sneakers with the laces already done up.

Sleep Yoga
Open to Interactions
Mentioning: @Ethen Emrys
At dinner, Atlas had mostly been tuning out the chatter around her as she focused on getting as much food in her system as possible. Her shoulder and arm were still bandaged up from her escapades in the dungeon and for the last few days, she had an intense headache that wouldn’t dissipate. She would be lying if she said that her near-death experience would steer her away from dangerous situations but that had never been the case, all through growing up. Danger always seemed to follow her which is why it was almost impossible to see her without scuffs and scrapes covering her body.
Shoveling mashed potatoes into her mouth, Atlas had heard two girls conversing about sleep yoga and while she had heard of yoga, she had never heard sleep associated with it but she also had never tried yoga so maybe it was always a sleep-related thing. Deciding it best to relax her mind and take an hour to herself, Atlas convinced Ethen to join her in this strange event as she got up from the table and made her way to her room to change into sweat pants, a light grey tank top and a grey plush hoodie.
Waiting in the common room for Ethen, the two walked together to the Rehearsal Room as they already noticed several students finding a mat on the floor to claim as Professor Jensen sat at the front presumably waiting a few more minutes for any remaining guests.
Finding two unclaimed mats next to each other in the middle of the room, Atlas quickly shuffled over as she sat down on one of them crossing her legs as she gently rocked back and forth waiting for the session to begin. Racking her brain, Atlas tried to think of what they might do in yoga as her parents had never done it around her and she had only heard it briefly in conversation from passerbys.
Starting the session, Professor Jensen had them all taking deep breaths focusing on inhaling and exhaling slowly and purposefully as Atlas sat relieved realizing she could at least handle that much. Closing her eyes, Atlas took in a deep inhale as she tried to tame her thoughts. It seemed like at any given moment she had 1000 ideas, concerns, pranks or memories swarming about which was probably the cause of the intense headaches lately.
Exhaling, Atlas felt her chest slowly compressing back down, feeling her gently breath escape her lips in a steady stream. With each inhale and exhale, more of her thoughts took a backseat as she focused on taking deeper more controlled breaths, enjoying the subtle silence around the room as the other students did the same.
It was such a simple thing and yet it was already making a world of difference. Hjørdis then instructed the class to open their eyes and move into the sleeping swam position. Atlas’ eyes widened as she had no idea what that was. Moving her head ever so slightly to see how the rest of the room was reacting, her focus was brought back to Hjørdis’ voice as she gave a step by step on the position. Watching her professor flawlessly execute the elegant maneuver, Atlas noticed she had just been watching as she quickly looked around to see students already getting into position.
Continually looking up to see Hjørdis’ body movements, Atlas slowly formed her body into the position but she could feel a painful pull on her injured arm as she slowly pulled it back letting it lay motionless next to her side as she stretched her left arm out feeling a gently pull in her lower back. With each deep breath she took in the position, she could feel her body loosening up like a weird form of body magic.
A soft smile broke on, Atlas’s face as she stretched out her right foot back pointing her toes as she exhaled deeply. Switching to the other side, Atlas took the extra time to get into the position without forcing her right arm into it as she pressed her arm into the pillow allowing all of the stress of the end of the year to fade away.

Sleep Yoga
Mentions @Hjørdis Jensen, @Cassandra Ironwoods and @Alan Vanes
If you had suggested attending a 'sleep yoga' session to Ivy a few months ago, she would have scoffed and declined rudely. Had she turned up, she likely would have insulted every single person in the room just for fun before either leaving or getting kicked out, whichever came first. However, things had changed. A lot. The events in the past year had truly battered the young Gryffindor, and she was plagued with nightmares that left her frozen with fear. To Ivy, sleep yoga now sounded rather appealing, much to her surprise - although she was rather doubtful that it would really help her sleep better. Still, it was worth a shot, right?
Ivy slipped into the Rehearsal Room, tugging at her Dutch braids nervously as she looked around the room, taking it all in. Surprisingly, there were quite a few students here, some of whom Ivy recognized. She made sure to wave at both Alan and Cassie as she passed them, although she decided against speaking with them, thinking that it was best that she didn't bother anyone. Ivy lifted her hand to wave to Professor Jensen as well, impulsively sending a little smile her way along with it before hurrying onto a spare mat. Why she had smiled, she wasn't entirely sure. Ivy had never been the type to hand out smiles to random people.
She sat down as Professor Jensen greeted the crowd and began the session. They started with... breathing. Ivy felt rather stupid, just sitting there with her eyes closed and breathing loudly on purpose, and she let out a short huff, opening one eye to take a look at what was going on around her. Everyone else seemed to be doing fine, so she shut her eyes again and tried to focus. Ivy had visualized something akin to conditioning in ballet when she thought of yoga. Learning how to breathe was not exactly what she had thought they'd be doing, but it wasn't like she could walk out now. And if she did, she was going to cop hell from her peers later on, so Ivy stayed put, feeling self-conscious and stupid.
After what felt like an age, Professor Jensen told everyone to open their eyes again. Ivy watched keenly as she folded herself into what she called a 'sleeping swan pose', relieved that there was going to be something she was familiar with in this activity. Amused by the sight of the Slytherin Head doing actual yoga, the Gryffindor's lips twitched with laughter, and quickly copied the pose, hiding her face in the pillow until the urge to laugh went away. Her flexibility from ballet was definitely helping her in this case - this position was rather similar to one she would use when stretching, and Ivy found she could rest in it quite comfortably.
Turning her head to take a look at her peers, she noticed that not everyone was achieving the pose as easily as her. Ivy couldn't help but feel a little smug, although she quickly put her head back down so as not to draw too much attention to herself. What was she supposed to do again? Oh, right... breathe. She really wasn't good at that part of yoga, was she? The Gryffindor tried to relax, and breathed in and out, trying to ignore the self-conscious feeling that was gathering in the pit of her stomach. Inhale... and exhale... and... is everyone looking at me? Ivy's head popped back up to look around again. No one was having as much difficulty as her relaxing, as far as she could tell. She resisted the urge to groan in frustration and slammed her face onto the pillow. Why was this so hard?!
