Birds and Brooms
When Opeila woke up this morning, she felt like exploring, something she last felt in the first month after her arrival. Hogwarts was a huge place, but Opeila couldn't be excited about it forever.
Today the Slytherin went something were she had never been before- the Quidditch Training Pitch. She had heard other students talkong excitedly about Quidditch but she had never watched the games. The first year simply didn't care enough, to her it sounded like hype such as football for many muggles and she never cared about that either.
Opeila had also not entered the Quidditch Pitch to watch the few training students. She simply wanted to see this place in person once and not from a library window.
The Slytherin had taken a book with her. Since she liked to read outside anyways, this was a good timing to do so, right? Also there were actual seats around the pitch, she didn't have to climb a tree.
After a few minutes of reading she was too curious to continue. Instead she looked at the sky, shielding her eyes with her hand from the sun, to see who was training. After a while she was sure that she didn't know most of the Quidditch Players.
She couldn't quite recognize the player in the green cloak yet.
Yes, she could.
If that wasn't the aggressive boy from the abandoned toilets...

Swerve. Dive. Rise.
Dan flew about on his Swiftstick, dodging the "bludgers" sent his way, and looking for the snitch that he "borrowed" from the Quidditch supplies. He was not about to be outdone by other Seekers if he could help it.
He was getting much better at noticing the glinting golden ball, much sharper at detecting its movement, and doing both faster. All while not getting hit by bludgers sent by the other team.
Which were just the Quaffle being thrown at him by Slytherin's Beaters and Chasers. They had just finished Chaser practice, and now it was Seeker practice.
The slight glint of gold and movement caught his eye, and he flew after it at full speed. His team followed, and continued to throw the Quaffle at him. He dodged and weaved like a master, all while never losing sight of the Snitch.
He reached out, and his slender fingers wrapped around the Snitch. He turned and stopped, and held it out.
"The Superior Team's Seeker, Dan Palmer has caught the Snitch! Slytherin wins again!"
Dan then mimicked roaring crowd sounds. He didnt care if he looked dumb, he was having fun.
"So eh... How'r we sposta do Beater practice?"
He looked over, and saw someone was actually there on the pitch, in the stands. He recognized her as the girl who mindlessly defended the traitor Victor, then had a vision in the middle of the bathroom.
Huh.

Birds and Brooms
The quidditch field finally got Opeila's full attention. She had put her book to the side and rather watched the players training.
It was quite a lot like football for wizards she thought, but other than football, a sport which Opeila had always hated, this one fascinated her a lot more than she had thought it what. The first year really regret, that she hadn't gone to watch the games.
It almost seemed like a separate world to her, in the air, with the team, the only danger the bludgers. Opeila knew Quidditch in theory but she had never bothered to actually visit a game.
She had found the snitch after Dan and now watched with increasing excitement how the team flew after the tiny golden ball. It didn't take him a lot of time to catch it. It was probably different in a game but it was still quite impressive.
... At least until Palmer held the snitch out and started to cheer at himself, commented on his catch. Then she couldn't help it and started to laugh. It did look silly.
And then Palmer noticed her, while she still was laughing. Oops. Opeila tried to pull herself together.
