Naps and Forgotten Quills, Mind You
Kevin groaned as he plopped down onto one of the many chairs in the library. He was tired, he had been woken from his nap too many times to even consider going back to his dorm room. He certainly didn't mind sharing a dorm with other first years, however, at the same time, he wished some of them would be quiet. He could only take so much noise at a time.
When he had been woken up for the umpteenth time in a span of 30 minutes, he had simply smiled at his dorm mates, grabbed his book bag and cloak, and marched out of the room. He didn't know where to go for the first few moments he had when he left the Ravenclaw common room. The Great Hall would have been too loud, it was lunch. The grounds would be filled with students that were on their free period. Some would be messing around because they were done with classes for the day. In the end, Kevin decided to go to Library, a place he knew would be filled with glorious silence.
However, the moment Kevin sat down, he couldn't go to sleep. He felt guilty sleeping in the library. That would not be the proper actions for a Ravenclaw. So, Kevin did what any good student, not just Ravenclaw, would do. He straightened up and opened his book bag beginning to pull out his homework for Charms. He needed to get something done, and he figured if it was going to be homework, might as well be something he had found interesting. Charms was an interesting subject, yet as he looked through the confines of his bag, he remembered one thing. He did not have his quill.
"Oh no," Kevin whispered, letting his head fall to thunk on the table. Now he felt equally guilty for not having his quill. "Now what am I supposed to do?" As much as he enjoyed Ravenclaw, Kevin was not a reader. He loved books yes, but he was certainly, definitely not a reader.

Opeila read through her defense against the dark arts essay, thinking of ways to improve her work. No, she could hand this in like it was.
Sighing she put down her quill and put the finished essay in her bag. She really had to write it in this period, since she had to hand it in in the next.
The Slytherin girl stretched her fingers and yawned. She still had half an hour time and she didn't feel like going down to the great hall for lunch...
Instead the girl got up from her chair and put her books back where they belonged. She was on her way back, when she heard a boy's voice asking someone what to do now. Possibly himself. Opeila went in the voice's direction and eventually found it's source, hidden behind a bookshelf. A playful smile appeared on her face when she looked at the Ravenclaw. She crossed her arms and leaned against the bookshelf. "Speak up eagle. Surely, someone will answer eventually. When you now also explain your problem, people might even be able to help you.", she said sarcastically. The boy had charms books and paper laying on the table in front of him. Did he need help with his homework or something? And there she thought, that Ravenclaws were at least booksmart...

Kevin blinked when he heard a feminine voice suddenly answer his voiced thoughts, lifting his head, Kevin turned his eyes towards the girl leaning against the bookshelf. Green emblem, she was a Slytherin. He could also tell by her attitude but Kevin wasn't going to say anything about that, he didn't want any confrontation, however he could still feel himself bristle of the blatant sarcasm the girl displayed.
"Oh, come to visit a mere Eagle, Snake? Surely there were other places to slither to." Kevin said, lips turning down in a pout. He didn't know if it was his frustation or lack or sleep that caused him to say those words. However, he couldn't help but feel a tiny bit bad for the tone his voice was in.
"Sorry. I don't mean to sound rude. I haven't been getting sleep lately. I figured I'd come to the libary but then I felt bad about sleeping in here, so I decided to do homework, but I forgot my quill and I don't have a spare, and now I am back to square one." Kevin couldn't help but ramble, not when he was tired, his sluggish actions showing just how much he was tired.
"I'm Kevin. Kevin O'Reilly. I hope you can forgive my rudeness." Kevin shifted slightly to hold out his hand, "Truce?"

Willow was headed back to her usual place of hangout besides the Courtyard, the wondrous Library. She had taken to spending her lunches there when the weather wasn't that great. Sometimes she could catch up on work, read ahead, or as she had been doing as of late, reading folklore of wizardry. That was her favorite, the fantasy of the wizarding world was more imaginative and impressive than any muggle story.
As she was walking in, she heard two people maybe having a bad day? Neither of them seemed happy, which to her seemed impossible in a library as wonderful as this. She recognized Opeila from the ice cream shop the other day, at least she knew one of them. She eavesdropped for a moment to see what the conversation was about, before she quickly moved over to the conflict with a bounce in her step, and her blonde hair that was tied up in a ponytail swaying behind her. She thought it was weird that they were purely referring to each other by their house mascots. Something that was a habit in the school in general but this was especially charged.
After Kevin introduced himself, she jumped right in to the conversation. "And a badger joins right in, I'm Willow! A pleasure to meet you, and hello again Opeila!"" She paused smiling at both of them thinking about what to say next, "Are you guys okay though? You both seem like you're not having a great time." Luckily she had brought an extra quill because she was nervous about losing her first one and pulled it out of her bag to hand to Kevin, "You can borrow my extra for now!"

Kevin blinked when he looked towards the girl that had bounced her way into the conversation. He by no means minded at all. He was sure if she hadn't jumped in he would have gotten into a screaming match with the Slytherin girl he know knew as Opeila. Huh, that was a name you didn't hear everyday and honestly, Kevin was amazed by her name. Rubbing the back of his neck, Kevin thought of what to say next. He didn't want to make a fool out of himself, but he knew he kind of already did.
However, the moment Willow had pulled out her quill, Kevin's face lit up brightly and he stood to take the quill, "Thank you. I appreciate it. I didn't realize I had forgotten my quill in my dorm room. I didn't want to go back to get it."
Kevin looked at Willow, taking in her apperance. A Badger. Well, everyone needs friends. Nodding to her, he said to her, "Willow, right? Would you like to join me? Opeila, you can join too. Just slither your way over here." Kevin's eyebrows rose slightly, a playful smirk pulling at his lips. He certainly didn't mind that he was teasing. He already kind of snapped at her, he was sure some playful banter wasn't going to be bad.
Kevin gestured towards the table, "It'd be my pleasure."

The boy seemed to be annoyed by the Slytherin's sarcastic words, making her chuckle silently. "Oh, there were... But you just looked like you were in need of company." Immediately after saying what he had, he began to apologize, telling her that he had not been able to sleep a lot lately and felt bad to sleep in the library.
Opeila just waved his words off. She knew the feeling of not getting enough sleep. "It's fine."
He stretched out his hand, introducing himself and offering her a truce. Opeila could only just stop herself from shaking her head amusedly. It seemed like Ravenclaws really were a funny group of people. "Truce? I don't believe, there was a war, was there?", she asked the Ravenclaw. She still took his hand. "But nice to meet you, Kevin."
She was just about to introduce herself, when a very familiar badger just seemed to came out of nowhere and imediately started to talk. Opeila chuckled again. "Hey there, Willow. How's it going?" Surpised she looked at the other girl, whe she said, that both didn't seem to have a great time. "What makes you think that? I am totally fine."
Kevin then asked Willow if she wanted to join and playfully said that Opeila could slither over as well. Opeila smirked back. "I might just do that."

Kevin let out an amused hum as he sat back down in his chair. These two girls seemed like people he could become friends with. He certainly didn't mind them. The sarcastic comments from the Slytherin girl even gave him some hope that Hogwarts wasn't going to be as boring as he thought it was going to be. Kevin wasn't dumb though, he knew there could have been other things that could have made his schooling not boring, but he couldn't help it. He was a people person and he enjoyed making friends rather than just going through the motions everyday.
"So Willow, what brings you to the library?" Kevin asked, not bothering to answer the girls question about not having a good time. It's not that he wasn't. It was just the fact that he was tired and hungry and felt guilty about sleeping in the library. He needed his sleep. As much as he was a nice person he was also someone that was always tired if he didn't get even one night of a full sleep. Kevin thought back for a moment, a Slytherin and a Hufflepuff. What an off combination to make friends.
Kevin certainly didn't mind. He was odd too.

Willow sat herself in the seat across from Kevin, beginning to unpack her study materials for the day. "You guys looked tense from afar is all, I guess I misread the situation!" She realized the diversity of the group she was around. All they were missing is a Gryffindor! She was excited to make a new friend, which reminded her! She pulled out a handful of friendship bracelets out of her pocket. "Would you like a bracelet?" She had wavered off of calling them friendship bracelets as she seemed to get a lot of pushback at giving friendship bracelets out. "You can choose any that you'd like. Opeila already has one!" She smiled over at her briefly before returning her attention to the boy in front of her. She would put the bracelets back in her bag once he had finished choosing one.
"Also, I'm here to do some studying. I always find myself falling behind somehow. It feels like I finish one thing and suddenly there's four more things that came out of nowhere that I have to do." She sighed, but followed it up with a shrug. "The cost of a wizarding school I suppose." She pulled a hairtie out of her bag and tied her hair up to get into a study mode that she had a familiar ability to settling into. Though, she wondered if she'd be able to study with these two around.

Kevin asked Willow why she was in the library, while Opeila decided to look for a book she could take with her to the common room later. Maybe something about Defense against the Dark Arts? She sort of enjoyed that subject a lot lately.
"I'll come back in a second.", she told the other two and went to the Defense against the Dark Arts section. It took her a little more than a second to decide for a book though, and in the end it wasn't only one book, but three. Well. She was used to that, she could never choose when it came to books about a subject that the Slytherin was interested in.
Then she returned to Willow and Kevin. "Just uh... got something to take back to my house later.
In the meanwhile Willow had-again- taken out her pile of friendship bracelets she always seemed to be carrying with her. Opeila wouldn't be surprised if the Hufflepuff, should she ever get lost in the castle, could drop one of the bracelets every other meter to find her way back.
Willow told Kevin that Opeila had a friendship bracelet as well. Yeah. And Opeila knew exactly where that bracelet was, tied to the end of her bed. She had felt silly wearing it.
Willow also said that she was basically drowningbin schoolwork. If she spent so much time on making her bracelets, this wasn't surprising though, was it?
Opeila would only nod. She had nothing to add to this.

Willow Anderson was everything Ivy wished to be - popular, pretty, and well-known all around Hogwarts. The Hufflepuff girl had made quite a name for herself by sharing the friendship bracelets. What was there to not like about Willow? Cheerful and always smiling, you couldn't help but like her. Ivy longed to be friends with her, but their paths had never crossed, and she didn't know how to approach her.
Ivy wasn't sure what other people thought of her. She knew her reputation was good enough, as she had never picked a fight with anyone and tried to be nice to everyone, but she was also quite unknown, as she didn't have anything special about her.
Ivy knew what she wanted: loyal friends who she could trust with anything, but she didn't exactly know how to get them. The Bellamys, like other pureblood families, didn't have friends. They had allies and acquaintances.
But Ivy knew that not having friends at Hogwarts would mean misery and loneliness for seven years, so she made up her mind to talk to the first group she saw in the library.
It was Willow, talking to a Ravenclaw boy and a Slytherin girl she recognised as Opeila Seilun, a girl she had classes with.
Swallowing her nerves, Ivy walked up to them. Willow was chattering away about her friendship bracelets.
"Um, hi!" Ivy said softly. They didn't turn around, and she realized she needed to speak louder. You have to do better than that, she berated herself, and cleared her throat as she walked closer to them. "Hi! I'm Ivy Bellamy."
