An Accidental Attack
Snow hadn’t been to the Hogwarts Library, and she was really bored. The Gryffindors didn’t seem interned to chat, so she went to the library. She took Hogwarts, A History from the shelf to read. She open the book and held it close to her face. The words on the page seemed to move and dance, and she couldn’t make them out at all. She didn’t know how it was so easy for some people. She sighed angrily and tried again. She only got a headache from the brightness of the paper on the dark words. She thought that it was hopeless, and why should she be here anyway? This place was for people who wanted info and could read, not people who struggled to read. Feeling that the book she held was of no use to her, Snow angrily chucked the book across the library, and it happened to hit someone in the head, corner first. Snow noticed right away, and she felt very afraid of what might happen and tried to hide beneath another book- which was giving her another headache— but she was too tall and she was sure they noticed her right away.
Shit, she thought. They’ll surely yell at me. I’m dead meat…

An Accidental Attack

Lily was calmly reading one of her favourite books, her eyes hungrily reading the page as she took in the words that sat there, imagination running wild as she drifted off into her own little world, a finger tracing the line she was on. She paused, looking at the page, before moving onto the next, moving the book a little. This was one of her favourites; Rick Riordan‘s ‘Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief’. She smiled at the words, before something hard and heavy hit her in the head.
She gasped in pain, ducking her head as she held it in her hands, her book dropping to the floor as she stood, turning towards where the book came from. She looked around, before noticing another girl standing there, hiding behind a book, however it doing little to hide her tall figure. Lily was tall for her age, however this girl was taller.
Lily immediately walked up to the girl, standing in front of her and looking up at her, eyes narrowed, before she smiled and held out her hand, for a handshake. “I’m Lily. What’s your name?”
She knew that this girl had just thrown a book at her, but she didn’t mind. She wanted to try and figure out why this girl had thrown a book at her first and foremost, before jumping to conclusions.

An Accidental Attack
When the girl walked over and stuck out her hand, Snow flinched, expecting a slap. She instead introduced herself and held out her hand for Snow to shake. Snow looked at her hand uncomfortably. She felt nervous shaking it, especially since she hated touching people and especially hated it when she felt like Lily might attack at any moment. She shook her hand and pulled away quickly, and she noticed that her own hand was extremely cold. Snow really needed to warm up her hands once in a while.
“I’m Snow. I didn’t mean to throw the book at you. Sorry ‘bout that.” she said, looking Lily straight in the eyes. “I hope you’re not mad.” She could tell that the girl wasn’t that mad, however, and she felt a bit less nervous. Only a bit.
She was as sure as hell that she didn’t want to tell her the reason she had thrown the book in the first place- it gave bullies new opportunities, and people would start thinking that she was dim-witted and couldn’t do anything for squat. So she said, “It slipped from my hands.” A very lazy excuse for what she did, but she was able to keep on her poker face.

An Accidental Attack
“Huh,” Lily said, smiling as she placed her hand back at her side, raising an eyebrow at the other girl. “I’m not mad. It takes a lot of energy to stay mad at someone, so I just don’t bother.”
Lily smiled at the other girl, before holding out the book that was in her other hand as she listened to the girl explain her actions. “Sure.” She said, sarcastically at Snow’s explanation. “A book just doesn’t ‘slip’ out of someone’s hand hard enough to give someone else a headache. It’s ok. What annoyed you enough that you threw the book? Do I need to go get a professor to deal with someone?”
She immediately felt bad, before moving past the girl and pulling a different book down from the shelves, holding it out to the girl. “If you want a good read, I’d suggest this series. It’s a bit young for our grade but it’s an amazing series. It’s called Wings of Fire. It’s about five Dragonets who have to figure out their destiny.” She said, offering out the book. “I’ve read the series many times at the library at home, although they haven’t gotten the newer books.”

Snow frowned at her sarcastic response. Oh boy, was she dumb. She could have said she had bad aim. Too late now...
The girl moved to go grab a book from the shelves and offered it to her.
“Uhhh....” said Snow. She was now pickled. She couldn’t tell her she wasn’t interested- she was. But how was she even supposed to read it? Lily might as well just give her some Muggle homework and make her solve all of them. She was more likely to do nicely at it then be able to read this book, let alone the entire series.
“Thanks,” she said and took the book. She may as well, because there was no point in telling her the real reason why she threw the book and was hesitant to take this one. “It sounds very interesting.” Too bad I’ll never know how good it actually is, she thought.

An Accidental Attack
Lily smiled, looking at the other student. “Hogwarts has been amazing so far! Actually, I take that back. It’s been hard. I got so much homework from my teachers from the first lesson it wasn’t even funny! I ended doing it straight away.”
Lily paused. “I got stuck on my Transfiguration homework. Like I love the subject, and Professor Cypresse is amazing, however, she marks so hard and I’m scared. I want the chance to do Animagus training, but according to her I need straight Os in Transfiguration to be able to do that and her first homework was so overwhelming, that I spent five hours trying to start the homework. It was terrifying. I’m gonna end up spending all my studying hours in the library with my Transfiguration notes.”
Lily paused, looking at Snow with a solem expression. “It’s unlikely I’ll even get the chance to do animagus training. I never got good marks in Muggle schooling, so what’s to say I’ll get straight Os in this? Plus, I have to wait five years. Since she refuses to teach anyone who’s under fifth grade.”
Lily smiled. “How do you like your classes so far?” She asked Snow, feeling rather guilty that she rambled.
