Okay... That Was Awkward
Reducio
@Lamik Fillestar
Aideen strode confidently through the library. Her head positively ached from History of Magic class. All the advice she'd gotten from anyone was just to not pay attention. Of course, no one she'd asked had been Ravenclaw. Aideen made a mental note to also look for a book that might help her later as she sat down and began her homework.
After a while, the Ravenclaw's hand began to hurt from writing so much. Grumbling, she stood up. A good stroll through the shelves wouldn't hurt. Running her hand along the spines of so much knowledge, she inhaled the incredible smell of books, books, books. Okay, maybe that was a little over the top. I mean. Books are great but seriously Aideen who talks about them like that? You're going crazy.
Aideen stopped at a thin purple spine, tracing the gold letters on it. She carefully pulled it off the shelf and went back to her table. Her keen eyes quickly scanned the pages as she looked through it. It seemed to be a story about... oh gross. A girl who fell in love with a boy who didn't like her back and her quest to find an ancient artifact that would make her beautiful. Slamming it shut with a cry of disgust, she rubbed her forehead angrily. Today was going just great so far.

Okay... That Was Awkward
"Purple!" A voice came from behind the girl, warm yet excited. It was Lamik FIllestar, a second-year Gryffindor with soft blond hair and large, kind blue eyes. "Purple is my favorite color." He added. Lamik often liked starting conversations by asking either what the other persons favorite color was or stating his own. It was a simple question, sure, but one that people seemed to open up to quite easily. For someone who liked making friends as much as Lamik, finding ways to get others to open up was important. "Though it's wasted on a book that isn't very good- is that what's happening here?"
Why he was in the Library in the first place wasn't to make friends, however. It was to find something new to read. Though Lamik tended to prefer the books that he found at home, he had recently decided to try and branch out a bit- maybe find some interesting literature written by a witch or wizard for once. For some reason, Lamik had an itch for something non fiction, only to remember an old-ish copy of one of the former newspaper teams names "The Hufflepost" that he had spotted a few weeks earlier while returning a particularly boring book about some frog.

"Purple! Purple is my favorite color. Though it's wasted on a book that isn't very good- is that what's happening here?"
Aideen nearly jumped out of her seat in surprise when she heard a voice behind her. Her old instincts from back home began to kick in. Always watch your back always keep your guard up if you hear someone behind you it can't be good run fight who is it not safe! She bit her lip and fought the feelings down, then slowly turned around to see a boy who looked just a little older then her smiling.
Holy howling wolves he's- she cut herself off from that thought. Not cool, Aideen. Not cool.
Aideen had never, ever, never, ever, never, ever thought this would happen to her. All that mushy stuff only happened in the most boring books in a library, at least in her world.
"Ah- I- um, yeah, purple is really pretty, I like it too. There wasn't much of it back in my town. Just gray and brown. My favorite color is blue. All shades of blue. But yeah, this book is a waste of paper." She wrinkled her nose, then tilted her head at the boy much like her dog, Sunday, back home like he used to before he died of starvation. "What's your name? I'm Aideen."
She had recovered enough of her senses to have a normal conversation, which was a good sign.

Okay... That Was Awkward
Lamik thought for a few seconds before pulling up a chair and sitting down. "I doubt it's really a waste of paper. It might make good kindling for a fire." Lamik put a hand on the book, pulling it towards him lightly as if to ask permission to look through it. "Blue is a pretty color though. They all are in certain situations, but blue is definitely up there." Though it wasn't something that he ever really talked about with anyone, Lamik adored the color of his eyes. A light blue that he liked to think matched the sky perfectly (even though it definitely didn't.)
"Speaking of pretty..." Lamik said after the girl had said her name. "Your name. I like It. I've never met anyone named Aideen before. I'm Lamik Fillestar, so I have a pretty strange name myself." Lamik had never allowed the strangeness of his name to bother him. Quite the opposite, in fact- though the mean spirited kids at his muggle school tried to bully him about it at times, Lamik took pride in being unique and never let any of the rude comments get under his skin. After all, why shouldn't someone be proud of what makes them difference? It's not like his name hurts anyone.

Okay... That Was Awkward
Lamik opened the book as she responded to his questions and flipped through random pages, scanning them to try and get a feel for what it was about. Though nothing really stood out, the boy got a sense of the atmosphere that it tried setting up: romantic and lovey-dovey. Though he wasn't usually put off by the idea of love, this particular book seemed to have far too much of it. With slightly clenched teeth and a sigh of defeat, Lamik returned the cover to it's original place and put the item down on the table.
Though it may have seemed like he wasn't listening, Lamik heard every word of what Aiden had said. He looked up just in time to see her tell the story about her own hair, and let out a laugh at the end. "You don't look like a boy." He said, shaking his head in slight disbelief. "Though your hair is, in fact, long in a cool way." Suddenly, Lamik noticed that Aideen seemed a bit... red. "Hey, are you feeling alright? You look like you have a fever. I can help you over to the medical wing if you need. I am quite experienced with bringing people there, after all."
