This roleplay shall have a maximum of 1 other player. First come, first serve.

Brielle sat tired at one of the tables in the Library. As she flipped another page of her DADA textbook, she heaved a sigh, tapping her quill pen against the table vigorously, trying to remain focused.

As the tapping of her pen made clicks against the hard wood of the desk she was sitting at, she began to receive stares, indicating she was being slightly annoying.

Brielle was supposed to have a tutor come and help her with the studying, but unfortunetly they had never showed. Brielle, after waiting for an hour, decides to pack up her things and go look for a book to pass the time. As she so neatly placed everything in her bag, she stood quietly and walked over to one of many shelves. She plucked a random book off the rack, one she had probably already read before. The book she had grabbed had been by the author Newt Scamander, Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them.

She absolutely adored this novel, so she held the book tightly to her chest and scurried back to her table. After skimming through the entire book, she yawned as she placed the book back on the shelf.

Emile had been sitting at a nearby table, working on writing all that he could in his notebook, and skimming through books of tons of different mystical creatures. He absolutely loved to learn, and this library felt almost like his sanctuary. While he was writing, he heard tapping on one of the desks nearby, and looked up to see a girl who seemed to be the source of the tapping.

She had a Defense Against the Dark Arts textbook in front of her, and looked like she was trying to focus very hard on reading it. Maybe she was having trouble in the class? Emile couldn't be sure. He had also had some trouble in the class. Everything had been a bit confusing, but slowly he was starting to get the hand of it. He just needed to research everything for his homework more.

Anyway, he looked back down at his journal, and soon an hour went by, even though to Emile it only felt like 15 minutes. He noticed the girl again, the one who had been tapping on the desk. She seemed to look somewhat annoyed. He wondered why. Maybe she had been waiting for someone. Emile couldn't be sure unless he really knew what had happened. It was a habit of his to make assumptions too quickly. He needed to learn how to learn not to do that, as soon as possible.

Maybe it was creepy, but he watched her find a book about Fantastic Beasts, and squinted his eyes. When he had tried to look for that book before, it hadn't been where the librarian said it was. He got out of his chair and gathered his things, then made his way over to where she was sitting and sat down across the table from her. God, I probably seem so creepy right now. He thought, but he really wanted to read this book. His love for animals was very big.

"By any chance when you finish reading that book...could I take a look?" He asked, giving the girl a nervous smile.

Brielle glanced up from her book, noticing a boy sitting across from her. Had it been her tutor? She thought. No.. She saw him earlier at a desk nearby.

As she heard his question, she gave him a soft smile. After reading the book about a million times, it felt, she slid the novel across the table in his direction.

"Ah..Sorry I hogged it. I had been waiting for tutor and got bored, so I went to any book I could find." She winced, slightly embarrassed. "Have you read the book before? It really is interesting. The word choice Newt uses is utterly brilliant." She noticed herself starting to ramble and she immediately piped down. As much as she loved to talk about books, she felt as if she bored the person who had to listen.

"Anyways, I don't think my tutor is coming.. So I suppose I'll go get a new book." Brielle stood up, flashing a warm smile before walking to a shelf. The book she had chose was Hogwarts; A history. She had been recommended this book by a friend, and she figured there was no better time to read it than now.

Emile watched the girl in front of him glance upwards, and he hoped he hadn't come off as too weird. His worries vanished when she smiled at him, and moreover she even gave him the book. He smiled to himself, not showing how happy he actually was to be able to finally read the book. "Thank you!" The Gryffindor said, taking it into his hands and staring at the cover.

As a child, he had always loved animals and mystical creatures. For some reason he had never gotten around to reading the famous book. Everyone knew what it was, but he just never got the chance to read it. Today, he had decided he wanted to write in his journal about mythical creatures, and this book seemed like a perfect idea for his yearning to do so. He had come to the library in hopes of finding it, but couldn't. It seemed he hadn't looked hard enough. He internally thanked this girl for having the book and for sitting in a position where he could see that she did have the book.

When she started to talk, he snapped back into reality. "Yikes. Did the tutor blow you off? That's pretty low." Emile said with a disappointed look on his face. That genuinely did seem like a pretty low thing to do. "Ah, I haven't read the book yet, but I've heard many wonderful things about Newt. I've read papers and random biographies on him, but I've never read his book, which is strange because I've been wanting to for so long." Emile said, also starting to ramble. He stopped himself before he got too far. He also noticed how excited she seemed to be to talk about Newt with him. Could she be a book lover like himself?

"Oh, alright." Emile said, watching her get up. He read a bit of the book he had before she came back with a new one. "Oh! I think some people think the History books are boring, but I love them. I'm glad it's a textbook here." Emile said excitedly when she came back with her new book.

"Also, what's your name? I'm Emile. Emile Yorke." He said, just noticing now that he hadn't introduced himself yet.

"No need to thank me" The girl had replied. Brielle then frowned when asked about her tutor. "Yes.. I think a second year was supposed to come and help with studying for an quiz tomorrow." Her face instantly lit up when he started talking to her about books, as she never really found people like that often.

To be quite honest, she doesn't meet any people often. Brielle had been quite timid the last few months of her first year, and hasn't been out of her dormitory all that much. Of course, she would talk to a few females in her dormitory, and occasionally speak in her common room. Though she had never met someone so much like her. It made her heart full. almost. To talk with someone who appreciated the things she did, and not have to be subconscious of what she's saying.

Brielle must have been in her thoughts too long, because she found herself staring at him blankly. Quickly, she pushed a few strands of snow white hair out of her face and processed what he has said before staring off.

"Oh! I'm Brielle Gray. Most call me Bri, but that's your choice." The girl giggled nervously, as she started to open the page of the book she had selected. Brielle then realized it was a bit rude to just read in front of someone like that. So instead, the girl shut the book carefully, not wanting to bend a page, and placed it beside her.

"So, do you have an interest with books? I actually love them, as there's so much creativity that can blossom from reading."

"Well, a different way to think about it is that you dodged a bullet? No one wants to work with a tutor who is always late anyway." Emile said, trying to cheer her up a bit, seeing as she did frown when he mentioned it. He would also probably be a bit annoyed if his tutor didn't show up. He was pretty sure it worked, because her face lit up. Or maybe it was cause he was talking about books. Either way, she seemed more happy than she was before.

Emile looked at her for a moment. She seemed to be deep in thought. That was something he also did a lot too, so he didn't really mind it. He was curious to what was making her stare off into space like that though. Maybe books. Books could definitely do that to people. He shook his head at himself. He had to stop making assumptions.

"Well, it's nice to meet you, Bri." Emile said happily. He liked using nicknames. It made him feel like he knew the person better even if they had just met, or, in fact, Emile didn't know anything about them. It also made him feel less awkward, and he felt awkward a lot.

"So, do you have an interest with books? I actually love them, as there's so much creativity that can blossom from reading." Brielle asked him, and Emile nodded almost immediately.

"An interest is an understatement." Emile said, with a quiet laugh. "I absolutely love books and writing." He showed her his little journal, which looked like it had probably been with Emile for quite some time. It was filled with everything he could fit in it, and he still wanted to add more. As he said, he loved writing. "How about you?" He assumed that she also was interested in them because of the way she looked when she talked about books, but he asked for the sake of conversation.

Okay so I really apologize for taking so long to respond, I just haven't had the time to ever get back at roleplays. Hopefully, I will be more consistent. < 3
She laughed at his small comment about the tutor, and it seemed to cheer her up. Still, it was really low to go and just blow someone off.

Once he had called her by her nickname, she seemed more comfortable. Even though she had just met him, she felt like she could be herself. Not to mention how understanding he is. Brielle thought. Pleased by his answer to her question, she was filled with joy as he showed her the small journal full of writing. He definatley used it all he could, because there were no blank spaces in sight. As she read a few of the things wrote, her heart melted at some of the beautiful quotes and small stories. Brielle was definatley fond of this boy because of how much he was alike her, and wondered if they'd become friends.

"Oh, me? I dont see anyone thinking I didnt like books? Its almost like a passion, not just a hobby. Other Slytherins make fun of me for it.." Her voice faltered as she talked about the disapproving others in her house. "They just say its dumb, and that only a Gryffindor or Hufflepuff would be caught reading their hearts out." She stared at the ground for a while until she jerked her head up fast. "N-not any offense to you, about only gryffindors reading.. Thats just what they said.." She shook her head, annoyed with how she was carrying the conversation.

"Im sorry."

If anything this was a quick response to me! Please no worries and take your time if you need to :)

Emile noticed that Brielle seemed to like looking at his notebook. He also was very happy to find someone who appreciated books and reading as much as he did! He hoped they would be able to be good friends. Who knew asking to read a book someone else had could lead to meeting someone to similar to yourself? Emile took a moment to scribble that down in his notebook as well. "Sorry, let me just write something down." He said as his pen moved. He finished, nodded to himself, then looked back up at her.

"Oh, me? I dont see anyone thinking I didnt like books? Its almost like a passion, not just a hobby. Other Slytherins make fun of me for it.." Was her response to his question about liking books. Why would someone make fun of another person for a passion? "That's..quite stupid to be frank. I don't get the logic of why they think that whatsoever. They aren't worth your time." Emile stated with an annoyed look on his face.

"They just say its dumb, and that only a Gryffindor or Hufflepuff would be caught reading their hearts out." She then said, which caused even more confusion for Emile. He seemed to be agitated. He wasn't annoyed at Brielle, but if he knew who the people saying this were he might say some questionable things. Books were his favorite thing in the world. Why were these people making it sound like it was wrong to love books? "I...wow." Emile said. "Well, I'm happy to be caught. What do these people have against books?" He asked, letting out a weak laugh.

"N-not any offense to you, about only gryffindors reading.. Thats just what they said..I'm sorry." Brielle said quickly. Emile looked up at her in surprise.

"No offense taken! If anything, I'm proud that they think we're so smart, right? More books mean more knowledge. They must not want to be caught learning more if they don't want to be caught reading books." Emile stated, then looked up at her nervously. "No offense to you, just the Slytherins saying that."

In fact, so far Emile hadn't met a rude Slytherin yet, this was his first time even hearing such things they said. One of the people he was closest to was a Slytherin, and she loved books. "I guess there are bad people in the midst of the good." He said to himself, then scribbled something in his journal.
