Study Sesh
Damien had built a castle.
At least, that's what it seemed like from the outside. The young Ravenclaw had books piled high on either side of him, stacked in a hap hazardous manner that would likely earn him a chiding if the librarian caught him at it. With the piles so high, it was hard to see his head bent between them, one arm braced along the top of a large book, open to nearly the exact center, and laying flat in the space between his book towers. Damien, eyes moving quickly, loomed over it, teeth pulled against his lower lip as he read. He did love to learn, but these history books could be so...boring.
Damien was a good Ravenclaw, quick-witted and intelligent; he hated failing at anything, especially schoolwork. But he wasn't perfect, who was? History of Magic, while interesting at parts, was not his best class and he struggled with the same easy perseverance he managed to maintain in his other lessons. Give him an essay on Cheering Charms or a complex Potions recipe to memorize and he was as good as gold, but the 18th Century Goblin Rebellions made him want to bang his head against his desk until his brain was too damaged for the professor to expect anything out of him.
Of course he wouldn't, but the thought was tempting.
Even so, he was trying his best to focus, and failing a bit, his quill tapping impatiently against the parchment where he'd been trying his best to take sufficient notes. When someone dropped into the seat across from him, forced inside the mini=castle he'd built, he looked up eagerly, glad for the distracted. "Hey!" He smiled, voice loud enough to earn him shushing from nearby. He glanced apologetically at those closest to him, but his smile didn't diminish. "Studying? Or homework?"
