Books, Books, and More Books
It was already late in the day when Asteria got to the library. She strolled through the narrow passageways in between the shelves, slightly overwhelmed by the large number of books that lined the shelves. The Ravenclaw girl had always had a special interest in reading, it was the closest way to experience something without actually experiencing it. There was so much that one could learn about in just one book. With this many of them, it was like knowledge heaven for Asteria, so many different things to choose from. There was a good reason why this was her favorite place in all of Hogwarts.
Perusing through the shelves, Asteria inspected the books carefully, deciding which one to take a look at first. Her studies were already done, as usual, but that didn't mean that she couldn't read more just because she was curious.
Finally pulling a book out of the tightly crammed shelves, the first-year found a table to sit down at, observing her surroundings before settling down to read. The library was pretty empty. A few people passed by every now and then but for the most part, it was peacefully quiet.
Asteria opened her book, diving into the content and tuning everything else out. Her hair shifted to a light peach color and fell to her shoulders. Her eyes became first a lavender tone but quickly turned to an amber-brown as she continued on reading her book.

Can this be backdated to sometime of September 2019? If not totally fine I'll add it too today's. Just kinda looking for more stuff for add to the starting of the school year
And of course Alec was slacking off. Something he'd rather be doing then going to classes. That and the quiet of the library was calming. It arguably helped the young boy think. Not better than usual of course it only made his problems worse. See the thing is. Alec was a bit of an over thinker. It wasn't exactly a bad thing sometimes, it was a great thing to overthink so you're prepared for everything. But of course his type of overthinking had to be more draining time consuming and over all completely pointless. It got him nowhere. It only made him worry more. And that always made things worse. Well, that and being the type of eleven-year-old boy he was, he dramatized things just a bit too much. With a 'good' mix like that, he ought to earn some pity points.Heck, just the other day he was overthinking about overthinking. It was a bit more of a self-pity case at that point in time. But he didn't mind. It was either that or trying to 'talk out' his thoughts to himself. And being caught in the small hall doing so. Yeah, uhh that was a bit of an awkward situation. And encounter. And that's when he noticed this girl. Who's eyes were changing color. He knew it was something to do with something or another. He'd read up on it once. But of course the moment you need to remember something, you forget it. But there was one thing Alec hadn't noticed. He was staring at the poor girl. Alec's face for trying to remember things ended up looking more like scowling than trying to remember something.

Asteria glanced up from her book for a second. Why was that boy scowling at her? It made no sense, she didn't even recognize him so why would he be mad at her? Sometimes people made absolutely no sense to her. She returned to her book, shaking her head in confusion.
Why should she care whether someone who she didn't even know was annoyed with her or not though? All she cared was that he was staring at her and she didn't like that in the least bit. Her eyes shifted to a light amber color in annoyance and she clenched her hands around her book. Did he not know that it was rude to stare at someone?
Asteria glared at him briefly before turning away and trying to ignore the boy. He was interrupting her reading time that she had waited through a day of classes to get to so he didn't deserve any more attention than that. Her eyes turned back to a darker amber and her hair shifted back to peach as she escaped back into her reading without saying a single word.
That was another reason why she liked reading, it helped her tune out the annoying people of the world. There always seemed to be people to tune out wherever she went so books were quite useful.
@Alec Mason That would work well since I am looking for backdated threads as well! Also, I apologize for Asteria's rudeness but she's kind of like that sometimes.

The girl's eyes had changed colors again. Interesting. He debated asking about it but he felt that might cross the line. And now glaring at him as well? Alec looked absolutely confused. Truth be told, he was. Was this girl mad at him for some reason? Maybe looking at her. Alec's sister was like that with boys but Alec assumed that was for other reasons. When Alec couldn't come to a conclusion exactly. He decided to introduce himself. He'd been practically staring at the girl for the last ten minutes, so it only seemed fair. He cleared his throat, walking closer to the girl. He wasn't sure if he'd gotten her attention or not, but decided he was going to speak, anyway."M-my name is Alec, well Alec J. Mason to be exact." He said a fond smile edging his lips. "And you are?" He asked, raising a brow.Alec was hoping he didn't come off as too odd. He knew he could at times. It was a bit unfortunate. And his stutter which always made him seem nervous didn't help at all either. He wasn't much of a public speaker. He assumed the girl was either the slightest bit introverted or enjoyed a good book with peace and quiet. Both things he'd already ruined for the girl now.

Hannele felt like visiting the place she avoided the most in the castle today: the library. It was a sudden notion that came to her while lying down in bed, trying to memorize facts from History of Magic. It might've been the fact that her dorm mates were being obnoxiously noisy but she felt like the library was going to hold something interesting today, so she grabbed her studying materials and made her way down to the ground floor.
The halls were mostly empty now, students and staff alike having found something to occupy their time with. Hannele usually would've kept herself busy playing around with some friends, practicing on some available piano, or studying, which was most typical for her. The magic subjects were so unusual to her, so different from what she had learned in her other schools. But she was determined to keep on persisting, no matter how strange and difficult things sometimes were.
Hannele entered the library, scanning her immediate area once before looking for somewhere to sit. She avoided the library because it made her feel claustrophobic, having millions of books that probably held magical properties surrounding her. From the rumors she figured that at any time one could come flying down to hit, or even bite, her, just because she was a target. Hannele didn't like feeling so vulnerable but her curiosity overrode any fears she had presently.
She took a seat in an armchair amidst the books, taking a moment to look around all the towering shelves. She wondered which books would actually interest her, which she could use to do amazing things that maybe no one else could. But Hannele supposed any books like that were tucked away in the back of the Restricted Area, away from juvenile students like her.
Her thoughts were interrupted by students talking nearby. Hannele meant to ignore them but perked up at the sight of the interrupters; they were a pair of students, a boy and a girl, both of whom looked vaguely familiar. Hannele wondered if she had seen them dressed in red and gold garb before or if she was mistaken. Usually she wasn't.
Hannele watched them curiously for a moment before her eyes began to tear away, meaning to began studying. But just before she looked away she noticed how something about the girl's just...changed. It wasn't that she tied her hair into a ponytail or took off a sweater, but hair actually melted into a peach color, as if she had just dry dipped it into some dye. But the girl had been only sitting there the entire time.
She gaped for a second, wondering all of sorts of things, before she got up and walked over. Hannele wanted to know how that girl had done it. She didn't seem that much older than her, and Hannele hadn't learned how to cast any spells without speaking in Transfiguration or Charms yet, if they ever would, so she was looking for an answer.
"Excuse me, but how did you do that? Can you teach me?" she asked as she saddled up next to the boy. She ignored him for the moment, focused on the peculiar girl before her.

Asteria looked up from her book once again. Why on earth was he talking to her? Couldn't he see that she just wanted to be left alone? Of all days to bother her, he had to choose the day that she was in an awful mood, not for any particular reason, she just was.
Coming to a conclusion on what to do, she decided to answer his question. That would make him go away, right? "Asteria Knight," she muttered in an annoyed tone, going back to her book yet again. It was quite an interesting one which was just one of the reasons that she wasn't going to give up on her evening of peaceful reading quite yet.
Maybe in the future, she should choose to read in her dormitory instead. The library was quite nice though, its studious environment was one that Asteria enjoyed quite a bit. It would be a shame not to read in there anymore but maybe it wasn't the place to read uninterrupted.
Asteria took a pause from her book to examine her surroundings. Now there was another person gaping at her? One was bad enough, but two? That was ridiculous! The Ravenclaw turned to face the newcomer who was now talking to her as well apparently. "It's called being a Metamorphmagus and no, I can't teach you. It's genetic, you either are one or you aren't." She told the girl, shrugging slightly before heading back to her reading.
@Hannele Nestor@Alec Mason For the backdated date, would September 20th work for you?
