The Course of True Love PV Opeila

"The course of true love never did run smooth."
@Opeila Seilun
One thing that Alexx had not considered when she found herself getting swept off of her feet by a charming Canadian boy was that she already had a girl here who she had been pining after. This wasn't to say that she didn't love Simon, because she did, but Ami had been in her life longer, and was a really big part of Alexx's bisexual-awakening. It was one thing to have a crush on someone, that was normal at this age, but it was totally different when you were realizing a whole new thing about yourself.

Simon brought some questionable realizations as well. Alexx was now seeing a trend: Ami was American, Simon was from Westeros "Canada", so that's almost the same, they're both muggle horns, very strange and irresponsible, and quite wild. So that was Alexx's type. Absolute lunatics from North America and/or Westeros "Canada".

Unfortunately for her, Alexx hadn't really had much time to hash this stuff out with Ami. She was still very new to this whole "love interest" thing, and she really didn't expect Ami to like her back; that'd take a miracle. If anything, Ami would probably be in it for Rosalie. Alexx wouldn't blame her if she were, Rosalie was quite cute after all. Still, the weight of not coming clean about this on Alexx's shoulders was simply too much to handle, and she felt disheartened anytime she saw her.

Worst of all, not a soul new about this. She wouldn't want to share this to the public, anyway. Who knows what they'd say... There was only one person who Alexx could probably trust with this issue, and that was Professor Bercegeay, but right now, that wasn't possible. So that left Alexx alone to brood in the library, desperately reading a book about love and the human brain and other complicated shit, hoping it would make her understand, but she only felt more confused.

Being a teenager felt absolutely hopeless. She was confused about everything all of the time, was always moody, didn't understand why she was moody and Reid wasn't, she hated everyone but always wanted love and validation, and worst of all, she had no motivation to do anything. These days, Alexx felt like a bump on a log, just sitting there as life passed her by because she was too upset to continue on. She had to remind herself that there were worst things in life than being stuck in a less-than-convenient love-triangle, and she knew it too, what with the custody battle and everything. But right now, in the present, this was the issue that she was actively facing and had yet to even fully confront, so it felt like the biggest thing going on in the world at the moment. Alexx truly felt as though her life would crumble into pieces.

chill babe. we're all bad in someone's story.

@Alexx Séverin I am so sorry, this took ages!
Opeila liked to say that she didn't have time for thoughts like that, when people asked her about crushes or boyfriends or love interests. And it was true that there was a lot Opeila had to deal with. The fear for her mother's life took up big parts of her energy every day, she got cursed by a spider bite, she possibly was to be taken responsible for the attack. Where was she supposed to put a love interest into this mountain of emotions?

The truth was, that there was enough space. More than enough. Her whole self craved something nice to replace some of the negative with.
And she even had someone there. A few days ago, she had met a boy. It had not even been very spectacular, but that was the point. It was kind of refreshing to meet someone normal. He was no Jack Burnett, who offered to help her and then dropped her when she needed him, no Selim Faust, who was almost too formally polite to then show up when she didn't expect him and almost kill her. He was no over enthusiastic Willow Anderson, who would throw friendship bracelets on the table whenever they met, no Ruka, who she liked but felt incredibly sorry for, whenever she looked at him. And no Flash, who seemed to always be able to look right behind her facade.

It had been a weirdly safe feeling. A normal, friendly boy. After they had met in the library, she had thought of him for a long time still. Opeila wanted to see him again, she really did.

But for now, she had other problems. The ball was slowly coming closer and Opeila would be right next to the potential troublemaker. The whole evening.
She needed a clear mind.

Sighing, she jumped off the table she was sitting on and picked her books up. The first year turned right after she passed a bookshelf and... ran right into someone, who looked just as distracted as she felt. A familiar face. Wasn't that the girl that the bluehead had insulted before the attack?
