Into the Unknown
1st September 2019,
In a very common train
In a very common train
The Peabodys' faces were still very visible at the window when Ahmet turned his head to observe the surrounding agitation from one of the Hogwarts Express forward compartments. They were tapping the window, lifting their thumbs and saying reassuring words, only to reassure themselves - probably, because the boy could barely hear them. Anyway, they were having trouble leaving him alone. Ahmet was smiling nicely, nodding at times, he couldn't do any better from where he was - instead of opening the window perhaps, but that would have been like opening the gates of Hell: it would have been impossible to know what would escape from it. If he was excited about discovering his new school, his parents were ten times more thrilled. For his father, a wizard like him, it was a tradition to take the Hogwarts Express even if the school was in the same area as home... Ahmet never took away enjoyment from his parents, their excitement was just cute for him, and he prefered proceding this way, it was more formal.
The fact is that the young wizard was a little bit tense, and it showed up in the way he was standing. Ten centimeters away from his chair backrest, and his hands resting on his knees, it was like he was only waiting for a clue indicating that the train was moving away. He ventured to look around him and establish a benchmark with the teenagers sat around him. Just in front of him, there was a boy sleeping under his cloak, next to that boy, there was another boy, already occupied with a copy of Garius Tomkink's Hogwarts, A History. Ahmet didn't get the time to read his school books yet, he hoped it wasn't a mistake. Apart from that, they weren't very different from him. Maybe they already knew each other from last year or so.
« Bye mom, bye dad, I love you too! » With his well-known composure, Ahmet laid his legs on the table in front of him, arms behind his head, looking really relaxed. The Peabodys were far away now, or just shrouded by the train's smoke.
The boy was thinking of his destiny. He wanted it to be great, like many youngsters of his age. Deep inside him, he had always knew that he would be known for a good reason, in this world or in the muggles one. He had that conviction that something was waiting for him patiently to happened on some road, somewhere to let him leave a lasting impression in the minds of all. We could find him very pretentious to think that, however he didn't believe he was better than everyone else, but he considered himself luckier than others, for his capacity to maintain a certain serenity about his future. Being a person that people can remember, leaving a big impression on people's mind, and being able to stay - in a way - on earth after the inevitable end was, according to him, definetly invaluable. He will get to there, eventually, like this train who was taking its time to go somewhere in his Highlands.

Into the Unknown
– Don't forget to send us an owl when you arrive. At least the tenth time my parents repeat it. Before your remembrall turns red, right?
I don't know what is their problem with this remembrall, it's like a time marker: each time it's red, you are late. You don't know what for, but you know you are. Maybe it's how this little object works. What is its utility then?
I don't want them to get upset so I'll do whatever they order me to do. I don't have to question myself.
– Yes.
I guess they won't say anything else. They already gave me a whole speech about how I should work, what I could do to get occupied, where were the library, the hospital wing, the owlery (of course, it was one of my first questions since sending an owl was one of their first advice); Mum even told me she was the best Herbology student during her firsts years. I would not be surprised if they give me a Book of Advices written by themselves as a departure gift.
I'm close to getting on the train when I feel they are holding me. Or rather hugging me. Didn't expect it, in front of all these people... oh. All are doing the same, it must be okay then. I give them back their hug and kisses. I pull away from them, with the largest smile I can make. They say goodbye, me too.
Departure in a few minutes. This time, I get on the train, looking at them. They seem so enthusiastic, not worrying at all. They trust me even if we will ever remember my first day of primary school when I got lost through corridors.
I pass four, five compartments before entering one. There are already other children. Probably Hogwarts students, it seems to me that they are the only people allowed to travel with the... Hogwarts Express. Okay, it makes sense with the name. I don't let my own foolishness be expressed and I rather shut my face. Three boys (isn't it a girl under the cloak?), one sleeping, another reading, and... well, the third has his legs put on a table. Not very correct but I'm not at home, I don't know the rules here.
It's embarrassing that someone is sleeping, I can't say hello too loudly. Let's try anyway.
– A-hum, hello. Nice to meet you all.
I offer a hand, hoping that at least one of them will shake mine and that I won't be ignored.
