An Empty Compartment
Tina hangs her head as she plops down in the corner of an empty corner. Her long, wavy, bright red hair leans against the window as her gold doe eyes stared through the glass. She saw her pale skin faintly appear before she closed her eyes to hold back the tears. She had destroyed any chance of making friends by running away and she could only blame herself. Animals had always been simple to her, but from what she read in books and watched from movies proved that humans were more complex. As a few drops of tears escaped her eye, she used the sleeve of her reddish brown Henley shirt to wipe them away. Then she remembered the tiny book in the back pocket of her pants of her orange skinny jeans. She opened it to find a list of goals that she wanted to achieve at Hogwarts. She hoped to make as many friends as possible, be in good terms with all her teachers, get the best grades, and have an adventure. She knew that most of these things could only be completed if she wasn't so afraid to meet people. She just hated being disappointed. She whispers to herself, "I don't want to be alone."

An Empty Compartment
Walking through the barrier in King's Cross Station was probably the weirdest thing ever happened in his life. It was a life if he said he wasn't scared before he try it because what if he didn't make it? He did all the journey by himself, copying the students with the same Hogwarts trunks with him because his muggle mother couldn't join him to the platform 9 3/4.
The sight of the train was grandeur, despite the ancient vibe, and he had to wonder, once it traveled on its railtrack, would muggles be able to see it? Or was it hidden by magic? The question, however, couldn't be answered by himself. Maybe there was some information about it in that Hogwarts, A History book, but honestly, Lars had not yet read about the book at all. The reason was because he liked to listen to other people's story instead of reading it. And to be able to do that, he should at least find himself a company.
Walking along the platform, he couldn't help but feeling a bit lonely as he usually traveled with his mother or at least his butler, but now he was all alone. His eyes peeking through the windows of each compartments, looking for some available seats for himself. Surely, he didn't mind entering the crowded one but he would rather have a seat along the journey than having to stand up just because he wanted to make a lot of acquaintances.
After a while, he found a compartment filled with only a girl inside and decided he could go there because his legs was starting to get tired at the moment. Knocking the door, he slowly opened it.
"Excuse me. Do you mind if I join you?"

"Excuse me. Do you mind if I join you?" she hears a voice say as she looks up to see a boy about her age. She couldn't believe her luck since the moment she gave up on meeting people, someone comes up to her. She realized she was staring at the boy when she notice he was waiting for an answer. She began to worry that the boy would leave if she didn't answer. She was afraid that their train ride would be completely silent if she accepted his request. She was scared of accidentally saying something to offend him even if he did speak. After realizing that she has been staring at him for a while, she says, indifferently, "Sure."
A small part of her wanted to run or tell the boy to go away, but she knew she would have to learn to talk to people if she wanted to survive Hogwarts. Putting on a real, but small smile, she asks, "Do you have a name? I mean, what's your name?"
She looks away as she knows she messed up her sentence and was probably coming off as an unintelligent person. She only wished to feel as comfortable around humans like she was with animals.

An Empty Compartment
Siobhan had been walking through the train for what felt like ages but might have been only a couple of seconds. The whole experience had been weird for her, she had left her dad and brother on the platform waving, as the train had started it's journey. A little old lady with a trolley full of candy had stopped her in the hallway and asked if she'd like some, but she'd turned her down with a polite, "Sorry, but no thanks," and continued on.
She had peeked into compartments here and there, but so far, every one of them seemed to be full, with either first years such as herself, or friends of another year, all chatting happily among each other. It had seemed like she would just be a hindrance, a disturbance, if she would join in on their conversation full of inside jokes, so she had mumbled a hasty sorry and had left, trudging along.
This was one of the last compartments in this section of the train. Her hand formed around the door handle, and she steeled herself, taking a deep breath. Perhaps it'd be open, perhaps there'd be people willing to become her friend. She opened the door. A boy and a girl both sat in the compartment. She breathed out a sigh of relief, yes, she could do something with this. Moving to an open space she asks both of them, "Is this seat taken?"

An Empty Compartment
So he was waiting. The girl only stared at him without giving any answer. He could just leave the compartment while having a staring battle with the girl but he didn't want to take the chance of going even further along the train because, who knew, maybe another empty compartment was placed at the back end of the train? That would surely be tiring.
So he just smiled, trying to be friendly because maybe she was scared or something which he thought was ridiculous if that was the case.
Although in the end she finally agreed.
"Nice!" He couldn't help but exclaiming as he entered the compartment and sat down across the girl, placing the backpack filled with amazing snacks from the muggle world next to him.
He turned his attention back to the girl when she askd him something. A funny question to ask for someone's name that he scoffed, not in a mean or annoyed way, anyway.
"Of course I have. Do you think my parents would leave me anonymous after they gave birth to me?" asked him teasingly. "My name's Lars Anderson. Feel free to call me by first name. And you, Miss, do you have a name? Or should I call you 'funny compartment girl'?"
Just as he waited for the compartment girl's answer, another girl came inside asking about the seat.
Lars gave the girl a smile. "No, there're not taken." He answered, not asking for opinion for the girl across him on whether or not she wanted another company. But, for Lars, he always enjoyed another company, so.. "You can seat next to me or next to her. I assure you, I won't bite. I don't know about her though." He nodded to the girl across him, again, teasingly, while taking his bag and put it down the floor.

Tina couldn't hold back her smile as she listened to Lars talk. He was so funny and chill that she began to relax more. She wondered if other people were like him or if he was one of a kind. For some reason, he reminded her of her mother who was super outgoing and couldn't go anywhere without making a friend.
"My name is Tina Addington, but you can call me Red or funny compartment girl if you like." she replies genuinely. Red was a nickname that her parents would sometimes call her, but she felt that with his witty character it would be best if he called her that. She was glad that Lars had accepted the new girl's request even though she had wanted to. She felt she needed every ounce of social interaction she could get. However, she wasn't going to let him get away with his last tease. With a grin, she says, "Hey, I don't bite. I don't even bark."
She looked down at his bag and wondered what he stuffed in there. Was it books, video games, or maybe clothes? She knew whatever was in there would reveal something about his background and she was curious to know what shaped him into the person he was today. She asks, casually, "So um Lars, what's in your bag?"

Siobhan nodded, sliding the door to the compartment shut. She made her way in and sat down next to Tina. Tina and Lars, both nice names, both rolling off the tongue far more than hers she had to admit. She watched their exchange, as they quabbled over something, a smile playing on Tina's lips. maybe, just maybe, she could make friends with this group of people.
"Hi," she said, making an attempt at conversation. She needed to make friends, she couldn't be the loner like she was last year at her muggle school, quiet and unseen. "The name's Siobhan, and you're..Tina, and Lars right?" she asked waiting for the confirmation.
As she waited she reached into her cloth pack, one that she always carried around with her. It was bulging, with snacks and fruit because she was a hungry, growing girl, an old sketchbook with watermarks curling the edges, and a number of paperbacks that she had grown fond of over the years, just in case she couldn't find someone to talk to her. She pulled one out quickly, setting it on her lap like a comfortable presence before proceeding to ask yet another question, "So, what house are you hoping to be placed into?" And she waited.

An Empty Compartment
He ran down the streets of London going as fast as he could, to not miss the train. He ran the corner of the platforms "1... 2... 3... 4" counting the platforms he nearly ran right past the middle of 9 and 10. He skidded to a halt and turned back. Waiting for the right moment so that no muggle would see him he hopped right into platform 9 3/4. As he walked over to the train he saw inside the window that it was nearly full "Hopefully I can find a seat he thought to himself as he walked in. He walked around trying to find a place to sit, "Full... full... full" he thought to himself as he walked along the aisles with a Screeching Owl on his shoulder. He spotted a compartment with what seemed to be and empty space but he was rejected when he asked for a seat. He walked along trying to find a seat that had an empty spot but he kept getting rejected. He found a seat with three others and decided to give it a another shot "Excuse me but is there room for one more? I'm having a bit of trouble finding a seat" he patiently waited for a reply. One of the people had the brightest hair he had ever seen and the other two appeared to be a sort of dirty blonde. He's not sure why hair was the first thing he notices of all things in people.

"Red. I will definitely go for Red. Tina's a nice name but Red is better," said him, grinning. The name suited her fiery red hair anyway, one of the few people he ever met but only her offered a nickname. Although speaking about hair.. "But don't call me Brownie just because my hair's brown. It sounds like a dog."
So the new girl came being so polite by closing the door, one thing he exactly forgot to do. Turning back to Tina the Red (yes, it's official now), he grinned again. "Not yet. Everyone barks and probably bites in the end, especially red hair." For their fiery temper that matches the colour, you know. Lars very much aware it was only a rumours though but he had not yet gotten a chance to proof it.
Not that he would try to make Red angry, of course.
The new girl mentioned her name and Lars nodded his head. "Yes. Siobhan.. Si, for short?" asked him, just couldn't help but making another nickname. That way the three of them would have one syllable for their names. "You like to read?" asked him converationally, glancing at the paperback on her lap.
Lars bent down to open his backpack and revealed a lot of snacks inside. Mostly muggle snacks and some from Diagon Alley as well. The latter, however, weren't something he had tried before except for the Chocolate Frog -- he was already collecting the cards. "Snacks. Oreos, Cheetos, some chocolate, some sandwiches my mother brought me," answered him, taking out a cup of mini oreos. "By the way, do you know Oreos and Cheetos?" asked him to both girls. It could be a stupid question but he didn't know whether or not they came from a muggle family like him so it kind of worth asking because if they didn't he would force them to try it.
The Irish girl asked a very interesting question, except he didn't know exactly the differences between the four houses -- yes, four houses, that was all he knew because he just happened to see some upperclassmen wearing the school robes and after a while he noticed there were four different colours. Before he could give any respond, however, another one came, this time a boy which made him especially glad. "Sure. We still have plenty of rooms for anyone. I'm Lars, by the way. These girls are Red, erm, Tina and Siobhan." He literally almost forgot Red's real name there. "We're discussing about the house we hope we will be sorted into but, honestly, I don't know exactly the differences, except for the colours, so if someone could enlighten me with brief information, I'll be veey grateful."

She chuckled when he asked her not to call him Brownie. She hadn't even thought of that. "Of course not. You don't really resemble a dog."
"I don't really remember at time I've ever bark or bite..." She says before barking like a big dog. "Actually, I take that back."
When he asked if they knew what Oreos and Cheetos were she replied, "Yeah, but I'm more of an oreo person. May I have some?"
When she notices another boy ask to come in, she can't help but to appreciate how crowded the once empty compartment was. She was making a lot of new friends, but she worried she may never see them again. What if they all got sorted into different houses? Will they see each other or talk to each other again? She still hated the house system and felt she should attempt to end it in one of her Hogwarts years. She turns to Lars, teasing, "Have you already forgotten my real name?"
"The houses are Ravenclaw: blue, Gryffindor: Red, Hufflepuff: Yellow, and Slytherin: Green. Ravenclaws are smart, but can come off as know it alls. Gryffindors are brave, but can be reckless, Slytherin are ambitious, but can go to far to acieve their goals, and Hufflepuffs are kind, but their kindness can be taken adantage of. Which one of these interests you?" She wondered.
