Ava was amazed by everything around her as she stepped onto King's Cross 9 3/4. It wasn't that the young brunette had never seen the wizarding world, she lived in it and at this point traveled quite a bit more of it. No, she was amazed by the way that those who lived in the muggle world got here! A wall that you could just run at and pop out into such an amazing place of magic. That was what had Ava adorned with a grin that took up almost half her face. She pushed her glasses up and picked up her luggage once again running to the train. She had never been on a train! Let alone a magical one. True to her mother's goals, her Auntie May had made sure she spent a lot of time in the muggle world during the wait for the new year to start. A lot of pure-blood children were raised to look down on muggles or even if they weren't, they didn't know much about it. So Ava was raised to spend quite a bit of time there although her recently acquainted family filled her in on Hogwarts a bit, "Four common rooms, four houses, four founders. They sure like the number four." The young girl chuckled as she stepped onto the train hearing the conductor call,
"All aboard the Hogwarts Express!"
It didn't take the girl long to find a place to sit and looked about her empty cabin space with curiosity and wonder opening up her case to pull out Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, she was most excited about this class, you see. Brown eyes scanned the cover with unbounded energy as she squealed a bit at the thought! She loved animals and magical animals were even better! It made Ava wish she got chosen for Hufflepuff just like her favorite English wizard: Newt Scamander!

This wasn't the first time Marilyn had been to Platform 9 3/4, but it was the first time she was going to actually board the Hogwarts Express. She walked with her parents and two siblings, Elizabeth going into her final year and Skylar going into his third. Marilyn was so excited to finally be going with them, she was bouncing along the platform as she walked. For months know it was all she could talk about, about which house she wanted to be in if given the choice, what classes she was looking forward to, and anything else her family would let her say before eventually zoning her out.
Waiting for the train was unbearable. She constantly adjusted her weight, put down her things just to pick them up again, squat on the floor before her mother picked her up and scolded her because of the filth. Finally, the conductor called out and Marilyn has to keep her from sprinting onto the train. Elizabeth and Skylar go their own way, leaving her alone though it didn't bother her. She was already eyeing those around her, excited to meet new people and make friends.
After wandering for a bit, she spotted a cabin that was almost empty except for one girl. She seemed to be reading, but Marilyn didn't think about that. She slid open the compartment door and peeked her head in. "Hi! Name's Marilyn, mind if I join you?"

A chicken egg hatched beneath a toad would produce a gigantic serpent possessed of extraordinarily dangerous powers. Ava read along and chuckled to learn that basilisks, one of the most dangerous magical creatures that only the most skilled of wizards and witches could handle, was born in such a funny way! I mean, it wasn't like Ava to judge or anything as she too might be deemed born funny to other creatures. Ava was so lost in her reading that when she heard a girl her age say, "Hi! Name's Marilyn, mind if I join you?"
It took her a few minutes to fully proccess that someone was speaking before her head shot up and she looked at the girl blinking, "Oh! H-Hi! I don't mind, um, my name's Ava. Were you standing long?" The brunette stood up and then immediately bent down to pick up her book that had fallen to the floor, making sure it wasn't damaged and placing a bookmark in place before taking down her luggage and putting her book away, "Sorry about that...so, uh, have you been on a train before? I mean, a magic train?" The girl had sat back down adjusting her glasses with a slight blush at the stumbling of her actions and words, Hopefully she doesn't think my klutziness makes me a dangerous passenger. Maybe then basilisks would be my only friends. Ava chuckled a bit to herself on that thought, she had a tendency to laugh at everything in an attempt to brush off the severity of such things. Or maybe just to enjoy the silliness that the world had to offer with its severe living situations. Ava didn't know yet, but maybe if she thought about it hard enough she'd find the answer. Later though! Marilyn was here and Ava would not be rude by getting lost in her own head again.

Marilyn felt bad for surprising the girl for a moment. She was about to help her grab the book, but the girl, who introduced herself as Ava, was quick to pick it up herself. Instead Marilyn took a seat across from her, setting her luggage down next to her. "No, I wasn't waiting long. You must've been real interested in the book, huh?" That was the closest Marilyn would get to any sort of apology, the idea simply passing her mind in the excitement to meet someone and possibly gush about Hogwarts.
Ava asked about her experience with trains, and Marilyn was about to respond when she added magic trains. She paused, thinking, then shook her head. "Are there other magic trains besides Hogwarts'? If there are, I haven't. Oh, I'm not a Muggleborn, though, if that's what you were wondering. My dad is; I've rode on Muggle trains as trips... mostly we use the Floo, though. Much easier." The more she spoke, the faster the words came out. She took a second to think about why Ava had asked, and another possibility popped in her head. "Oh! Are you Muggleborn yourself?" She didn't really wait for an answer before continuing, "I mean, your parents weren't wizards. That's what Muggleborn is. My dad told me all about his experience with coming to terms with magic. If you need help, I can explain things for you!" She gave Ava a wide grin, not even thinking about if she was wrong. She didn't even know if she would be accurate in recounting her father's thoughts in the first place.

Ava thought for a minute and then smiled as her new cabin-mate explained what Muggleborn meant, "Oh! No, my parents are wizards, but my Momma wanted me to know about both worlds so she raised me in the muggle world. My Auntie May lives in Birmingham and I live with her now, so I had never been on trains before. My auntie says the Hogwarts Express flies!" Ava beamed looking out the window a bit wondering if they were taking off soon, "Although I might still need help, but I know about Floo! I've seen my Momma and Auntie May use magic."
The pale girl sat back down as the train started to move and giggled a bit, she felt like she was forgetting something and pulled out her remembrall to see if she was, it did have red smoke in it. Ava looked at the ceiling of the cabin before looking back at Marilyn, "Did you ask me something when you came in?" It wasn't unusual for Ava to forget that others spoke too and maybe she missed something and therefore forgot to answer. At least she hoped that was what it was, I was sure to get all my school supplies...right? Auntie May had walked her through Diagon Alley herself to make sure, but she should still have the supplies list. She'd write to her aunt when she had a chance, or maybe she'd find out at school. Either way, she would find her forgotten thing here or later!

Marilyn's eyes grew wide as Ava responded. "Oh! Yeah, that makes sense. Sorry for assuming you were Muggleborn! It's nice to hear other kids are raised learning about Muggle culture! The kids in my neighborhood, I don't think they were as immersed as our family was." She looked out the window, squirming in her seat with excitement. "Does it fly, though? My siblings never said anything about that! That's so cool! I wonder how they keep Muggles from seeing it? And if it's a bumpy ride when it flies, or if it's smooth?" She was mostly musing to herself at this point, tapping her chin in thought.
When Ava spoke again, Marilyn jumped back to the present and turned to her. "Oh, I just talked about the book you were reading. What was it?" She didn't get a good look at it before Ava had put it away, and she wondered if it was a book she also liked. Marilyn loved talking about her favorite books, as she was just about to demonstrate, and she loved bonding over them with new friends. "I love to read more fictional stories than anything, though. My favorite series is Annie's Fantastical Monsters, where the main character Annie travels the world and runs into all sorts of beasts!" She wanted to speak more, but she stopped to catch her breath, which allowed time for Ava to respond at last.

When Cassie pushed through Platform 9 3/4, she looked up and the last horn that coming out from the Hogwarts Express rang out.
Cassie ran to the closes door she could find. She hears a fainted sound from behind her her dad saying be good and don't make any shenanigans. When Cassie on board and the train start to move, she look left and right, looking for empty compartment but no avail. She walks futher more until she found one.
Inside of the compartment there's sat two girls that the same age as her. Cassie open the door. "Do you mind if I sit here? Others already full"Cassie said. Cassie can tell the other girls either will be sorted into Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw because 2 reasons: one of them is an avid reader and the other talking a mile minutes. The two of them still talking animatedly to each other. Maybe they didn't hear me Cassie thought to herself.
After she said that, she excuses herself to sit on the compartment with the other two girls and waiting for them or one of them to notice her. Cassie then start to open the book she carries. Cast-a-Spell handbook it say on the cover.

"Oh! It was Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them! I was just flipping through and reading up on basilisks...I've never heard of that book before though, maybe the Hogwarts library will have a copy." Ava smiled wide feeling like maybe she made her first friend and they hadn't even taken off yet! Another girl had walked between them and sat down with her own book. The brunette, being ever so curious, leaned over a bit and read the cover of her book and wondered if that was one of the schoolbooks they got. She looked to Marilyn for a moment and smiled a bit before turning to see in her trunk and then immediately sitting back down as the conductor came by to make sure everyone was in their seats.
It wasn't long before the Hogwarts Express took off from there and Ava let out a surprised, but joyful laugh as they took off barely feeling the lift off, "Oh wow!" She moved to the window and then remembered the girl that had just joined them, "I'm Ava, by the way! This is Marilyn, what's your name?" Maybe they'd befriend this girl too! Brown eyes glittered with excitement trying to contain herself long enough to actually meet these two thoroughly and not chase them off with her chatterbox-ness. Auntie May warned her about talking over people, I think she meant the teachers though...

OOC- That was a cool idea, hope you don't mind that I use it too.

Finally someone notice me! Cassie said to herself. The chatter box girl trying to gauge Cassie into a conversation - it's not she doesn't like it - but with that too much words come from one mouth, a bit annoyed her or perhaps it just the down side of being an only child. She used to the emptiness and loneliness of her Manor due her parents demanding job and working hour.
Cassie put a bookmark from the last pages she's read and close her book. It won't hurt to try, you know. They'll change their mind when they know you're a Slytherin through and through, Cassie said to herself. "I'm Cassie"Cassie provides answer to the girl question. The chatter box girl look like she can't barely contain her excitement. Cassie chuckles at the girl excitement.
Cassie sat near the window and the view become a blur of green. "Guess the train move fast, huh?"Cassie ask to the girl that introduce herself as Ava. "What do you think you're going to sorted into?"Cassie inquires. Cassie tried real hard to make a small talk topic, even though it wasn't her strong forte. Sure, she's an extrovert but Cassie is the type of person that wasn't easily warm up to the people she barely know.
Perhaps they won't be so bad after all, Cassie thought to herself. Beside they'll be a part of your life whether you willing or not for the 7 years to come. Cassie sighing. Tired debating with herself but she'll try get out from her comfort zone. That's what this school is all about. Get out from your safety nest and become the best version of yourself.

Ava became starry-eyed and got a big cheshire grin, "Hufflepuff! Just like Newt Schmander! What about you?" The young girl bounced in her chair a bit before trying to settle down. This was so exciting! The brown-eyed girl looked back out the window, pressing her face so hard it looked like she was trying to glue herself there as she tried to see all that there was to offer. Maybe they could open the window and see outside, was that allowed? The girl pulled back and contemplated this before looking back to Cassie, "You seem smart, do you think we'll get in trouble for opening the window?"
She didn't want to get in trouble, but she was so curious about this train and maybe she'd understand the magic better with the window open. Oh who am I kidding? I just want to see if the magic works outside the train too! She wasn't going to lean out the window, but maybe stick her head out. Oh, if only her Auntie May could see this! Maybe she could tell her more about the magic. It made the girl look at her own hand almost like she was having a new understanding that magic flowed through her own veins.
She grew up in magic worlds, sure. She spent time in muggle ones too, but magic was still fascinating and she hoped that even with all this learning she was about to do it still would be.
