Flower Bandits
For the Errand: Love is in the Garden
Of all the days for them to choose to hold their great flower gathering extravaganza, it appeared to have fallen on Ethen's favorite self-proclaimed holiday. The Day of the Bandits! When he was young...well younger, he and Atlas had decreed that once a year they would fully commit to their true bandit spirits. Nothing was ever safe, from their parent's shoes to the very last cookie in the cookie jar. If their little grabbers could reach it then it was fair game. Over the few years in which they practiced the Day of Bandits, both of them had become quite adept at snatching and hiding all sorts of loot within the short day. It had become a bit of a competition between the two to loot more than the other which resulted in large caches of loot.
The task of the day seemed sweet and innocent at face value. Gather bundles of flowers to decorate vases around the school grounds. It would undoubtedly turn the castle into a beautiful cornucopia of varied plants and glassware. BUT! Unfortunately it had fallen on the Day of the Bandit. Ethen knew that he needed to find Atlas as quickly as his little legs could and made his way aimlessly through the second floor scouring every inch for his partner in crime.
There were already vases being filled with beautifully ornate flowers and each one looked like the perfect heist for his wiggling little fingers. There was only so much time and so many flowers to be...borrowed... this year's day of mischeif would be surely filled with countless opportunities to swipe a few bundles of flowers. As he walked Ethen dragged a wicker basket behind him that he thought would sure as a perfect vase for their day of mischevious gatherings. A smirk was painted across his face at each vulnerable bundle of flowers he passed.

Flower Bandits
Atlas had been waiting weeks for the infamous Day of the Bandits and she could barely contain her excitement the night before as she expertly crafted an oversized growling badger head out of paper mache. The mouth was open wide and at the neck, there was a large hole for Atlas to place her head in. She hadn't really thought about what she would do with the oversized mascot head but she knew Ethen would have some incredible ideas planned.
On a weekly basis they were terrorizing those around them, constantly keeping people on their toes with their elaborate pranks and jump scares but one day a year, they pulled out all the stops and made it the most exhilarating and adventurous day and with the two of them still getting used to the school it was a perfect day to hunt out mischief.
Placing the badger head on top of her head Atlas stumbled for a moment as she tried to get used to the added lopsided weight as she giggled hearing her voice echo throughout the mask. Stumbling her way out of the dorm and into the hallway. Atlas knocked down books, flyers and almost an entire suit of armor came with her as she tried to navigate without being able to see. She had forgotten to place eye holes lower on the neck so she could see and instead only placed eyes up at the way top where a badger's eyes usually would be.
"Psshht Pssht Grrrr" Atlas chided as she tried out her incredibly accurate badger calls and screeches. *FWOOMP* Atlas suddenly hit what she thought was another student as she cascaded with the ground. "Hey watch where you are going!" The unknown student snapped as Atlas made sure to keep her mask on tight so they would never know who hit them. "Fffft chk chk!" Atlas replied as she considered apologizing before realizing that badgers never apologize and she needed to be true to her house mascot.
Finding Ethen would be almost impossible with the mask concealing her vision but she figured her Bandit Bestie would have been on his way to meet up with her and would surely know the flawless craft skills of his devilish counterpart in a heartbeat. Getting up from the floor, Atlas resituated the weight on top before pouncing down the corridor to begin the day of mayhem.

Meandering and rustling about the floor, Ethen couldn’t quite locate his friend. He shrouded his face from the other passing students trying to maintain some degree of bandit secrecy. With each step Ethen dramatically crept around as if invisible and not wanting to cause too much noise. However, it instead looked like he was hoisting his legs over imaginary banana peels with the intent to not fall to his untimely doom. The basket he dragged bounced and scrapped over the floor leaving a slight residue of wicker in his wake almost like a trail.Interacting with: @Atlas Reid
He knew there had to be confused and perplexed looks at him creeping around with a large basket but he had no time to entertain such trial things. He had a partner in crime to find! And he couldn’t rest until their Bandit antics were allowed to be unleashed. So he continued his focused exploration and search for the little Atlas.
As he walked with no luck, he noticed a relatively small student with what looked like them most glorious and oversized badger head lumbering around through the halls. They were bumping into everything, walls, books, even other students. It was perfect chaos. Ethen stopped his walk for a moment just to enjoy the spectacle of them bumbling about. Ethen began chuckling as they hissed and gurgled at other students they passed by. Why hadn’t he thought of wearing a massive mask, it would have made the day complete but he would have to remember that for next time.
As he watched the bumbling masked student, his eyebrow began to raise as he considered them. Ethen might be oblivious to just about everything and anything but he knew the craftsman of such a pristine and chaotic mask. There was only one hellion who could have perfected it. A fellow bandit. “RICE MONKEY!” Ethen yelled at the young student he assumed to be Atlas. “AWOOOMNAAAA!” he cheered obnoxiously turning a few heads with his bandit screech. He didn’t know why bandits would screech but he and Atlas had decided that they, in fact, needed a bandit screech. “I am over here hurry up!” he yelled as he began trotting right towards the stumbling masked student.

Bumbling through the hallway, Atlas perked up as she heard the familiar war cry of her fellow prankster. "AWWWWWOOOOOGGGAAA!" She screamed not caring who she woke up or disturbed. As Ethen continued to coax her Atlas found her way to him before removing her mask squinting her eyes as she adjusted to the light glimmering in from the paneled windows.
"Soooo what do you think?! I stayed up all night crafting this beauty in hopes that it would conceal our identity in today's most iconic pranks! And I have lots of ideas floating in my head but I'm excited to hear yours!" Atlas gleamed as she twirled around the corridor noticing the vases and baskets of flowers laying about. Had Ethen already been starting on the prank without her...squinting she tried to see if the flowers were actually made of bugs or old food but they looked like fairly normal flowers. Puzzled, Atlas turned back to Ethen.
"Did I miss something when I was plummeting through the hall or did you develop a crush on the whole school." Atlas teased as she eyed up the flowers again wondering if they exploded when you walked too close or squirted a putrid odor when you picked them up. Atlas had never been a fan of flowers but if they were devilish flowers she was more inclined to experiment with them.

The sudden eruption of a bandit war cry from the girl assured him that his suspicions were correct about the masked bandit. As soon as she scooped it off he could see her eyes struggling to adjust to the light. Again he chuckled at the absurd costume but he also strongly wished that there were two giant badger heads. The chaos they would have been able to cause would have been the stuff of legends.Interacting with: @Atlas Reid
“That might be one of your best ideas yet! We might need more of those in the future,” Ethen chuckled with a slight hint of mischief in his tone. “Oh but I think I might have a plan or two up my sleeve,” he smirked before realizing that his sleeves were actually filled with an assortment of emergency snacks. “You see, today there are all kinds of students tasked with collecting flowers for some lovey dovey stuff. Well, instead of going to collect our own from the grounds I thought it would be a better idea if we borrowed the flowers already collected in the vases around the school to fill this big basket! Then no on can argue that we have the best vase of flowers,” he snickered as he plucked a single rose from a nearby vase.
Ethen knew that there was nothing exploding with this plan but didn’t doubt that Atlas’ competitive nature would get the better of her. “We need to get as many flowers as we can to fill this wicker vase and who better than a couple of bandits to really steal some smelly old flowers!” Ethen said dropping a small cracker from his sleeve, much to his dismay.

Hearing the reasoning for all the flowers made a lot more sense to Atlas then Ethen having a crush on the whole school but listening to her plan only got her more excited. It was definitely devious and although it wasn't as grandeur as some of their past pranks it was sure to be fun slithering around the halls as they stealthily confiscated the flowers for their own glorious basket.
"Alright well it is good I brought the badger hat then because every good prank needs a good disguise especially when you are stealing but we need to get you a disguise too then...In the future I can definitely make you a duplicate badger head but for today we are going to need to get creative..." Atlas replied as she turned to face the hall looking for anything that could work.
There was an entire suit of armor standing firmly at the top of the staircase and as much as it would make her laugh to see Ethen try to walk in it she figured he wouldn't get too far before they were caught and their little errand would be a bust. She also considered having Ethen slide into the badger head with her as they walked like some mutant woodland hydra but still it seemed impractical for perfected sneakin'.
"Any ideas fellow bandit?" Atlas inquired as she bit down on her lip. As she brainstormed she figured she would try out one of her stealth moves in hopes that it would get her brain juiced flowing. Placing the oversized badger head back on, Atlas laid eyes on a small vase of flowers as she tucked and attempted to somersault over to it but the head was not perfectly smooth and she ended up just colliding with the floor as she laid there motionless.
"Alright minor setback..." She grumbled as she got on all fours and scuttled to the vase quickly plucking a flower from it as she scuttled back to her partner placing it in the basket. "Okay two down...so many more to go." She laughed already excited about their adventure for the day.

As soon as Atlas mentioned the need for him to be disguised, he knew that the girl was right. He had no idea how he had missed such an important detail and had nothing on hand. “Hm… you make a good point fellow bandit. My identity is compromised if people see me sneaking and snatching! I need something quick,” he said quickly scanning the surroundings for anything that would work. After a momentary panic he found a perfect contender just a few paces away.
There was a small disheveled and quite dirty backpack laying on the ground almost hidden by several larger plants. Scooping up the backpack, he emptied the miscellaneous contents before shoving his head inside the main compartment. Zipping it as much as he could, he now stood there in almost complete darkness with the backpack covering the entirety of his head. He could barely see out of a couple tears in the pack but he thought it was better than having his whole identity revealed and compromising the mission at hand.
“Perfect,” he mumbled through the confines of his backpack hat. He could barely make out the silhouette of Atlas but the massive Badger head helped him find her. “Now lets see one of those pesky prefects try and figure out the ultimate crime!” Ethen boasted as he began his first tentative steps. He heard a loud crash to the side as Atlas decided she would try to give the ground a hug. He couldn’t help but start chuckling at her clumsiness but found himself colliding with a pillar in mere moments later. “Ow…. it attacked me,” he grumbled as he rubbed his forehead.
Steadying himself, Ethen waddled over to a nearby flower vase with several protruding flowers. He couldn’t see what type or even really how many there were but what he did know was that they belonged in their basket. Snatching the flowers, he accidentally knocked the vase over which shattered on the stone floor of the hall. Ethen’s eyes widened immediately. The first rule of sneaking was to not make any sudden loud noises. Their sneaking was now endangered by his clumsiness. “Code Orange! We need to scram!” Ethen yelled towards the badger-headed Atlas. Without hesitation, Ethen began blindly scurrying down the hall away from the broken vase.

Hearing the vase shatter to the ground, Atlas had opened her mouth to call out the code word but Ethen beat her to it as he shouted Code Orange at the top of his lungs. Squealing in delight, Atlas secured the badger head onto her head as she followed his footsteps down the corridor.
"Wait! The basket!" Atlas yelled as she turned around making a straight B-line back for the basket as she attempted to count the steps in her head but ended up just stumbling on it. "Got it!" She called as she tilted the badger head up on her head so she could see the hallway. No prefects or professors were in sight but if they continued to run into things surely the noise would spoil the rest of their day.
Making her way back to Ethen, Atlas saw several vases lining the corridor as she swooped down to grab a couple flowers from each. "I'm getting more than you Tebo!" She taunted as she threw them into the basket as she saw Ethen take a hard right.
"The chase is afoot!" Atlas called out as she noticed a container of flowers sitting on one of the windows as she quickly swiped it catching up to her best friend.

Ethen was already scrambling down the hall when he heard Atlas’ call to get the basket but in his mind it was already lost. Running with the backpack shrouding his vision also left him mostly unable to see his surroundings so even backtracking seemed potentially more dangerous than it was worth. Luckily it seemed that the badger-headed Atlas was brave enough to fetch it. He knew even in flight he couldn’t forget their mission of gathering as many flowers as they could.
Jostling around in his backpack hat, Ethen began snatching flowers quickly out of any vase that he passed doing what he could to not to destroy any more. “There is no way I’m going to be beaten by a Rice monkey!” Ethen teased the very moment he collided with a nearby pillar. “But you are welcome to try smelly,” he called out as he rubbed his now throbbing head.
His near blind dashing around the hall was resulting in a cacophony of chaos as he collided with walls, vases, and other students only hooting a bandit call as a response for his rabble rousing. “Try and keep up little monkey,” Ethen laughed through his blinding backpack as he nearly tripped over another student. Another vase fell victim to his snatching and he tossed all the gathered flowers into the basket unable to remotely tell what they looked like.

Ethen had taken them down a busy hallway as Atlas quickly knocked her badger head down over her eyes so her identity would be hidden as she heard Ethen running into every possible item.
"Tebo...you are going to get us in trouble if you keep colliding with everything, rip some holes in it or something so you can see." She instructed knowing that she also didn't have clear eyesight in her oversized head and was relying solely on looking down at her feet to stop her from running into things. Some incense sticks were propped up in a tall vase as Atlas grabbed them knowing when they stopped on their next rest break she could fashion them into unique flowers.
More feet were appearing in her limited eyeline as she realized they were drawing too much attention. "Pivot!" she called out as she made a hard left into the next corridor slamming her shoulder on the door frame as she groaned biting down on her lip as she scuttled into the vacant hallway. Pulling off the badger head so she could get some air, Atlas sat down on the floor counting the flowers they had already gathered. "14...those are rookie numbers...we need to go big for Bandit's Day! Something people will remember...." she brainstormed massaging her injured shoulder. "We also need to make some eye holes in both of our disguises so we can be more elusive..." she continued as she pulled out a small pocket knife her father had given her cutting eye holes into the neck of her badger head before handing the knife to her partner in crime.
