PV @Lily Áshildr Björnsdotti (you are a Parselmouth so here have some snakes)

Annabelle felt a bit bad for just leaving Lily, but she had noticed the clouds forming and knew rain was coming. As soon as she reached the castle, Anna dashed up to the long corridors on the second floor. Lily finally caught up to her. Annabelle was staring at the snake. Because a snake there was: large, venomous. A python? Anna knew a bit about snakes. Did pythons even live here? Although she ransacked her brain she could not remember.

Snakes and staring was well known. But the thing was, Anna was terrible at staring contests. She’s broke eye contact and the snake reared up. Anna quickly took out her wand, but she remembered something. She didn’t know any spells. Classes started the next day for her, and she really couldn’t do anything until then.

Anna lowered her wand and got ready to dodge (ability: evasive maneuvers). Snakes? Fast. Pythons? Faster. Anna? Fastest.

But she didn’t have to, it seemed. The snake suddenly whipped around and trained its gaze on Lily. “No!” Yelled Anna, quickly running at the python. She had one plan: twist the python in half, if it would save Lily. But the python wasn’t attacking.

Wait. What was happening?

Lily doesn’t enjoy using her talents. In fact, she hates it. Everything she’s heard about her talent is the fact that only dark wizards uses them, has put her off of the talent completely. She barely used it at home with her father’s Cobra, meaning that she and the Cobra’s relationship is a bit tight as he doesn’t understand what he did to get Lily to stop talking to him. Lily feels bad, however, she doesn’t know if it’s because of the stigma around her talent or the fact she’s making the Cobra feel bad.

She pauses as she walks down the corridors, looking towards where she can see one of her new friends, Annabelle. She quickly walked up towards her, before spotting a snake in front of her.

It was a gorgeous snake.

It had a zig-zag pattern down its back, with an inverted V shape at its head. It was a smaller snake, however, big enough to scare people, especially people who didn’t know what kind of snake it was. Actually, it would scare someone who knew what kind of snake it was.

Lily moved towards Annabelle, reaching out her hand to pull Annabelle away from the snake, before watching the snake rear up and hiss, readying a strike. Lily knew what the snake was going to do. A bluff strike. Meaning, it wouldn’t open its mouth, it would merely tap the victim of the strike with its nose fast and hard, telling them that it would bite. Lily knew, that if this would happen, Annabelle would freak out and the snake would probably be killed. So she summoned all her knowledge.

“Stop. Come to me, please.” The language came out quickly, and safely, a soft hissing noise followed by several others. Lily didn’t have the knowledge to control a snake, however, she put enough terror behind the words to tell the snake that this was a bad idea.

She felt wrong. The snake wasn’t going to come to her, she was a human that probably killed its family. People often kill Adders without alerting the snake catchers, making the population smaller, even if it’s illegal(?).

The snake, however, was happy to get out of that situation. It slithered right towards her, fast for its size and slithered right up onto her shoe, curling itself around her shoe. Lily looked around, deciding there was no one there, since most people were in classes. She could hear Annabelle say something, before looking up from where she had been looking at the snake, to stare at Annabelle, who was staring at her.

Lily froze.

She didn’t know what to do. Annabelle and her had only really just met and hadn’t spoken that much, meaning that this could ruin their friendship. Such a secret meant that Lily was a dark witch at heart, which Lily refused to accept.

“Oh... um.. I.. uh.. oh... yeah?” Lily stuttered in English, looking towards Annabelle, before reaching down to her leg, holding out her hand and allowing the snake to climb onto her arm.

Lily decided to ignore Annabelle, looking down at the snake, studying it. “Scottish common Adder. Venomous, however rarely will kill you. Native to the UK...” She said, loud enough for Annabelle to hear, as she used the thumb on the other hand to stroke the snake’s head.
