Happy Halloween

The whole school seemed to be absolutely lively for such a chilly October day. With it not only being Halloween, but also with the Ball, it was no wonder the school was in such a tizzy. That was hardly at the front of the snake's mind this morning, however. At she started towards her first class of the morning, sharp eyes flickered about for her cousin.@Kyle DeRook
"Where are ye, ye birthday bastard..." she muttered to herself quietly. She had one hand tucked into her pocket, holding tightly to the small box she'd prepared for him. Granted, she'd had to write to her mother to send such a gift, which came swiftly... though her mother failed to send a letter along with it. That wasn't to be bothered with right now, however.
When her pale hues finally caught sight of the boy, she grinned. Of course, she knew Kyle hated his birthday; his mother had made certain of that, and she tried not to make a big deal of it herself, but it was a birthday after all. Plus, there was no one closer to her then her cousin, she couldn't just let the day go by without doing something small for him. Even if it was just one little present.
Weaving her way through the crowd of students, the girl reached his side nudging him a bit with her shoulder, "Mornin'." she grinned, a bit of a mischievous look in her eye. For half a moment, she was tempted to say the forbidden words of 'happy birthday', but she knew better by this point, "Happy Hallow'en!" the girl pulled the small box from her pocket. The box was small and plain, only wrapped with a bit of red ribbon to try to keep it as low key as she possibly could. Waving it in the air a bit before shoving it into his hands, "Now, ye best open it. 'm not takin' no fer an answer this year." she warned, raising her brow a bit.
Inside of the box would be a simple necklace. It had a long chain that her mother had taken care to charm so it would never break, laced with a silver colored dog tag. Of course, Illowy made sure it wasn't actual silver, simply titanium. On the front, inscribed clear were the words 'Familia Ante Omnia', meaning 'Family before all', along with the engraving of a magpie bird; a simply symbol to show it had been a gift from his cousin, "Its not real silver." she mentioned before adding, "And Mum charmed the chain so it won't break or anything." the girl flashed him a smile, hoping Kyle would like it.
It felt fitting to her, and seemed like something he would wear... and hopefully not ruin. The inscription felt right. Right now, her family was constantly at the forefront of her mind. Her mother still hadn't sent her a single letter, and the events from the summer and trying to learn more about Kyle's condition and how she might help was constantly consuming her. However, she was finding herself on quite the interesting track with everything she was learning, "Do ye like it?"
I was told I was dangerous. When I asked why, they said, "Because you don't need anyone." That's when I smiled.
