[font="Monotype Corsiva"]"Go ndalladh an diabhal thú!" The tall redhead cursed rather colorfully. They bashed their head, and nearly their face into the top of the stone entrance way from the stairwell to the corridors. It was one of the shorter ones and because they were a little less attentive, meaning they severely misjudged the height of the entrance way. Bam! Instant regret in a matter of seconds. Regret that hurt more then the punishments his da would dish out when Quinn was being...difficult.

He had come up this way from the hufflepuff common room in the kitchen. He was headed to the library to do some more reading. He needed to brush up on his transfiguration work again. It was a fascinating subject and in truth he had deep personal reasons for doing so aside from making himself as smart as he could. He had a lot to prove if he wanted to be in the department of mysteries let alone to lead it. He was a half-giant afterall and that would therefore be harder for him because of his difficulties with performing magic.

All of that was besides the point. He had a splitting headache now, and was on the ground groaning in pain. Worst of all his books were strewn around the cold, lifeless stone. "Go dtachtfadh an diabhal thú....yer damned short entrance way." He cursed again coming back to his senses. When he attempted to push himself self up he felt the cold, hard stone, but directly under his chest he felt something warmer and....soft? "Wha de hells?" He groaned out again feeling below him and squishing something rather soft. "Feck is that...feels li-"

Nil mortalibus arduum est.

Everyone always thought she was always reading. Well, most of the time it was, and when she was in a mood for reading, there was no stopping her. Unfortunately, that wasn't the only mood she had, and when she wasn't in that mood, she was in the other mood. The non-reading mood. As in the I will not read a label on a box if I can help it mood. It was either that, or the I will not put this book down if it will save my life mood, and right now that just wasn't it. There was no in between.

Instead, the young girl hadn't read a single thing other than what was absolutely required of her in at least a week, and instead occupied her time with wandering around the halls of the castle sketching interesting-looking shapes. And then returning to her dorm to trash the parchment. Probably expensive parchment, but she wouldn't know. Not like she was the one who paid for it.

Emerging from the stairs to the adjoining corridor, Cel's walking pace was slower than healthy or efficient, more focused on the storm of thoughts running loose in her mind than getting to her destination. She'd come down the Tower intending to ask Professor Risa if she could sketch some of the furniture in the classroom, realized that she'd forgotten literally all of the supplies necessary to do that, and meandered back upstairs. This was what she did with her free time, and this was also probably what irked Svana. A lot. Lazy behavior, she called it disapprovingly. Well, her stepmother wasn't here to say anything.

Concepts of whether the overheating of laptops could be solved with the high specific heat of cheese due to its milkfat content floated across her mind like faeries darting between trees. Water had a higher specific heat capacity, of course, but you couldn't very well put an ice cube on a computer. Cheese, on the other hand, held no risk of damaging the device, and might work better than coins, as it could be refrigerated! Could coins be refrigerated? Even if they could be, would they work better than cheese? Of course, there would be variations in that data due to skim versus not-skim milk, the type of cheese would obviously—

Crash.

Suddenly she was suffocating, something crashing down on top of her, knocking the wind out of her lungs. Something wry in the back of her mind decided that this was a great time to comment what good luck she'd had to not be carrying any books, as the sharp corners probably would have killed her. Another more rational part of her head told that part to shut the hell up, because something just knocked her flat, and after initial shock, how dare they, couldn't they watch where they were going?

With surprising strength for a nearly-five-feet-tall witch, Cel's legs, conveniently crushed in a position that allowed them to kick up hard enough to dislodge herself, flexed maybe a little more than necessary to move the offending object/person just enough for her to wriggle out. Her collapsed lungs inflated again, the first sound of a gasp of breath akin to the voice of a dying fish, but there was remarkable energy still left in her diaphragm. "Fall down at your own expense, but at least don't do it on top of someone, and if you do get off them as soon as you can," she snapped a little more than advised.

[font="Monotype Corsiva"]"SHITE!!!" With surprising speed considering his height, Quinn was off of her like a bat out of hell. Standing at near full attention rather stiff, the fall didn't actually hurt him at all. 'Gotta thank mum for the extra resilience' The wry thought quickly passed through their head. After that a second later they knelt down in an attempt to help the small girl up. "Oh feck, ah'm sorry are ye okay? Ah didn't break anything did ah? Oh jeez they really need to make these damned entryways taller...or maybe ah should duck more?" A curious thought...more on that later.

They seemed, and were, genuinely apologetic. He just hoped that they wouldn't be too mad, though the vibes he was getting from her kind of told him otherwise. 'Good job Quinnie, need I take over again.' For a split second he got a look of sheer annoyance passed across their face. He hated when they just popped out of nowhere like that. Some days it was good others it was bad. He still hadn't told his parents just how bad his...symptoms had gotten. "Shut it Harlin!" He said in the coldest and softest tone he could muster.

His attention was quickly returned back to the small girl in front of him. He would just have to deal with the pestering as he forced that side of him back down with all his might. "A-Anyway are ye okay?"

Ars longa.

The great sack of weight lifted off of her almost before she finished her castigation, and she gasped for air a little, reaching out to push herself upright. Her knees and parts of her shoulder throbbed, premonitions of bruises that she was certain would be forming too, and her hip barked at her from where it had collided with the hard corners of notebooks in her bag, but apart from those specific spots, she found herself physically fine as she dusted off her robe, more shocked than hurt. "I'm okay. Benefits of being closer to the ground than tall people. Are you?"

Well, at least she was fine. As Cel raised her hips off of her book bag, she noticed the rolls of parchment and corners of books peeking through the fabric. At first the young Ravenclaw thought that they might just have fallen out of the opening, which had probably gotten unzipped or something, but at a second and more careful look, it was clear that the even the reinforced stitches holding the bag together hadn't been able to withstand the force of her and the other guy's weight.

Her face settled into an expression of displeasure, and she folded her legs underneath her, tugging the bag towards her by its strap, even as pens and quills spilled through the half-torn seam. All she said, though, was a simple "...hm," because what else were you supposed to say in a situation like this. "I'm physically okay," she amended. "not sure about the bag, though."

This would prove to be... difficult, she was sure, to deal with. The parchment and notebooks seemed to be fine, and although some of the pens' caps had been loosened, she was sure that they were still ready to use. But art supplies were expensive, and they were definitely numerous. How was she going to carry them back upstairs? It wasn't like she could just sit here and wait for someone else to bring her a bag.

[font="Monotype Corsiva"]"Oh no..." Dismayed Quinn looked at the strewn about items then back the small girl in question. "I'm really sorry about this! Hey how about this?" He knelt down so he could talk softer, "Since this is my fault after all. Why don't I try to patch up your bad and in the meantime although it's fairly big. Why don't you use my bag to carry your things. I don't have too much and one of the perks of being so big is that I can just carry my things." The young Half-Giant would go on to further explain.

This would be an excellent distraction from his mental faculties and difficulties as of late. So huzzah to distractions and unintended accidents. They truly were the gifts from above. "So I see you love to draw too. What's your favorite things to draw hm? Mine are people. People have so many interesting expressions and things to say. People are complicated but also simple. Which if you really think about it a very strange conumdom...connumdrum?...conundrum! Yeah that's the word I was looking for." There he went off rambling once again. Laughing at his own mistakes. What strange Hufflepuff he was.
