A bad day continued
As the red sparks crashed into the ceiling and sparked around the bathroom he took the distraction and quickly left to get away from
Being surrounded by all the shouting people waving Wands. He needed to breath. He needed to just be left alone.
Kyle ribbed his hands across his pale face and notices his cut knuckles and he just shakes his head in frustration. Today had not gone at all like he had intended. He didn’t want Marla to see him like this, and he certainly didn’t want to punch her. He couldn’t wait until the moon began to wane and he got back to his normal self. He hated how he felt the days leading up to his monthly transformation.
Kyle walked quickly down the halls, trying to out as much distance between him and the abandoned toilets as he could as quick as he could. Finally he turned off down another corridor and there was a small divot in the wall where a torch hung on the wall. He stepped into the spot and put his back against the wall and slid down into a sitting position and he leaned his head back to rest on the cool stone. His cloths were messy, his skin pale and clammy with dark rings under his eyes and his hair a mess, not to mention the singe marks from the red sparks and the cuts on his knuckles. Kyle looked less than his best

[quote]One of the last things that Marla would ever think she'd say is that she couldn't stop thinking about Kyle. But it was true! She was absolutely, completely, utterly, deathly worried about him. She should be hunting him in the corridors to flipendo him! Not to ask what's wrong and pat him on the back... Blood was still dripping down her cheek as she walked, occasionally staining the stone a deep crimson. People were probably looking at her like she was a mad woman and they weren't far off, but she didn't care. She just needed to find...
Kyle! She turned a corner and lucked out, finding the boy sitting against the wall, looking famished and sickly. His eyes looking even darker and worse in the shade. A ping of worry went down her spine. What if he punched her again? He obviously wasn't in a good state. What's to say he wouldn't shoot a spell at her this time? But he didn't look feral like before. He seemed exhausted. And so, Marla used all the courage (and dignity) she had left to walk over to him and plop herself next to the boy.
"I'm driving you mad right now, aren't I?" She joked, trying to lighten the mood with a nervous chuckle. What else was she supposed to say? 'Hey, I know you punched me in the face and all but you're acting like a psychopath, what's up'? Yeah, no. She inhaled deeply, and began to speak.
"And I know the last thing you want to do is talk, I know... But I'm really worried, Kyle. You don't have to tell me anything if you don't want to, but I'm here. Okay?" The girl kept on stumbling over her words and felt her face get hot, followed by her voice getting shaky. She was holding back tears but it was obvious that she was extremely upset. Honestly, if he pushed her away again Marla would probably burst into tears. So she was depending on him to at least tell her something, anything, so that she could just go back to being angry at him and not humiliate herself in front of the whole school.

Kyle kept his eyes glued to the ceiling. The cold of the stone and the silence of the hall was immensely relaxing. He let out a deep sigh, now that the adrenaline had run dry he felt more exhausted than before. Then there was a voice "I'm driving you mad right now, aren't I?"
Kyle looked over and saw Marla. She looked like she was on the verge of tears, and he couldn’t help but see where he punched her on the side of the face and a wave of guilt washed over him once more.
"And I know the last thing you want to do is talk, I know... But I'm really worried, Kyle. You don't have to tell me anything if you don't want to, but I'm here. Okay?" the girl stumbled over her words and the confident snarky girl he robbed the potions room with was gone and Kyle knew he was to blame.
Kyle shakes his head and pulls one leg towards him, bending his knee, and resting his arm across it. ”Listen Quin...I’ve been a right Cunt. No excuse for it” he offers a shrug and looks away from her down the hall ”everyone is better off far from me, I’m no good”

[quote]Marla flinched as Kyle extended his leg, expecting him to explode and start yelling again, but to her surprise, he was apologetic? The boy was extremely stubborn and definitely seemed like the person to rationalize his mistakes and yet..
"Listen Quin...I’ve been a right Cunt. No excuse for it. Everyone is better off far from me, I’m no good." 'Cunt'? She didn't know what that meant despite using her fair share of curses... But it sounded pretty bad. She couldn't disagree. What Kyle did was pretty shitty, honestly.
"I mean yeah. It was pretty cunty," she said with a small giggle,"But you aren't no good. Far from it! How are people better off without you? What's going on?" She asked, hoping that she wasn't being too pushy. Seriously though, something was definitely going on with him. The lack of mischief in his eyes, punching the wall, punching her... It was all so out of character. What could be so terrible that it made Kyle like this? It had to be bad. Like, really bad.
Out of nervousness (and because it was quite chilly) Marla shoved her hands in her pockets, but felt something... Strange. It felt like a box... She grasped it and took it out, and proceeded to burst into laughter. It was jelly beans of all things. Where the hell did these come from? She ceased her snickering and looked to Kyle.
"Want these? No idea where they came from." She said, putting the box in front of him with an inviting smile. He seemed pretty down in the dumps, but maybe some food would make him feel a tad better?

Kyle rubbed his face. He appreciated what Marla was trying to do but he obviously couldn’t tell her what was going on. He couldn’t tell anyone. He wasn’t sure what he did that made her want to know what was wrong with so badly but he just wanted her to stop hassling him. And then, completely out of nowhere she pulled out a box of jelly beans and offered some to him. He just kind of blinked at her a few time and shakes his head. What on earth was she trying to accomplish here.
Kyle pushed himself back to his feet and and crossed his arms, his eyes looking into Marla’s trying to see if she was still going to cry if he so much as raised his voice at her. ”you are cool to get into trouble with. But we ain’t friends Quin. Ain’t nothing wrong with me, but you on the other hand should get your face looked at”
Kyle didn’t want to force Marla away, after all he wanted to have some friends...but it was safer for her and everyone else if they stayed away from him. Especially when it came to this time of the month ”just forget you saw me yeah?”

A bad day continued
Isaac was too slow.@Kyle DeRook | mention@Marla Quinlan
His running was what it used to be, and it felt like he had a stitch in his side after stalking in Kyle's shadow, following his tracks to where they led to the corridors. He coughed lightly, stubborn energy surging through him. The nurse told him to stay longer after that fateful day, but he didn't want to sit in an Infirmary. It made him feel broken and useless, unable to move and unable to speak to anyone but invalids.
The smoke had certainly damaged his lungs. Pressing his hand against a cool cobblestone wall, he coughed again, this time strong enough to cause his shoulders to shake.
Will you really be able to fight him?
He asked himself, hearing the tiny voice of doubt in his mind. His legs ached, and his head hurt.
But like any other time he felt doubt, he shoved the voice violently out of his head. Every bit of intuition was telling him that this was a bad idea, but he turned it away. He was protecting the students. That was his job as a Gryffindor, and his job as a student since the professors mostly did nothing. The feral-boy wasn't thinking straight, and had punched someone else.
The kid was expecting a wand, a spell, something of that sort. But he wanted an eye for an eye. He had punched someone til they bled, he was getting a punch back, consequences be damned.
In the shadows, he watched the boy and Marla confront one another. Droplets of crimson stained Marla's face, dripping down as she spoke in a low voice. In her hand, she reached out something to the boy, but he couldn't see exactly what it was. From the feral-boy's expression of confusion, it wasn't harmful, but not good either.
He scratched his neck and whispered something back to Marla, a bit of remorse in his eyes. So he was apologizing, wasn't he? And wasn't currently raging. But who knew what would happen in the next few moments. This kid had none of Isaac's trust, and he knew how people could lie. Put on a sweet face, talk words like they've changed, and kick you to the floor in a second.
He wasn't a believer in second chances right now. He wasn't about to hesitate and let the moment pass.
Punch him. Punch him, his mind urged again and again. He needs to pay for this.
But the longer he stared at the two, the more he realized that it might've been the wrong thing to try. Marla and the boy looked calmer than before, and apparently the hit was easily forgiven. Besides, he didn't want to end up in the Infirmary again.
Psycho.
The accusing word floated through his head again, and he bit his lip. Maybe he was a bit of a psycho. Maybe Marla was right, considering how he still felt so compelled to violence, even after an apology. He hated it. She wasn't supposed to be right.
That didn't mean he had to be friendly.
Slipping out into the open, Isaac stared right into Kyle's eyes, meeting his look straight-on. Without a hint of visible fear, he said with eerie calm, "I'll give you ten seconds to explain why you punched someone. Ten seconds. If by the time they're up you haven't said anything of worth, then you'll be sorry."
Sure it was a threat. But this was tame compared to the violence that could have erupted. His side throbbed again, and he held back the urge to cough, squinting through the pain.

A bad day continued
Illowy tucked some hair behind her ear as she made her way down the corridor. The day felt like it had been longer then it really was, but perhaps that one was on her for hiding herself away in the library the way that she'd been doing, trying to catch up on school work and get back on track with her studies. As the girl came around to the corner, she paused to tuck away her textbook away in her back, only pausing when she heard a familiar voice.
Isaac?
She turned the corner, seeing the boy standing near one of the tuck aways. Just by his posture she could see how wound up he was. The Slytherin quickly made her way closer, seeing her cousin standing and another Gryffindor girl she recognized from classes. In the moment she couldn't remember her name though. Blood on the girl's cheek quickly caught her attention, however. Whatever happened, it wasn't anything good. Pale eyes scanned over Kyle and he seemed in bad shape himself.
She'd never seen him quite like that. Pale as a sheet, eyes looking deep and exhausted as he stood with a defensive posture. Oh no, she didn't like this situation at all.
"Isaac." she spoke, perhaps a little more firmly then she'd meant to speak to him after hearing his threat. Granted, Isaac was possibly the closest friend she had right now... but Kyle was her cousin. The girl moved herself between the two boys, icy blue hues flickering back and forth between them before they landed on Kyle.
The girl swallowed hard, hoping she wasn't about to have to put forth the energy to break up an all out brawl. Isaac certainly wasn't in the condition to be fighting, and from the looks of him, neither was Kyle, "Ky, what is going on." she looked the boy up and down once more now that she was closer. He didn't seem like himself in the slightest, "What's wrong?"
Illowy passed a glance to the girl still on the floor. She certainly didn't look good, her cheek bleeding and bruising, yet she seemed to be the calmest of the entire little pride congregated here, "Are you okay?"

[quote]Marla's attempts to make Kyle fess up to tell her what was going on were futile, because he got up and began to speak. Just forget she saw him? Was he mad? Marla's head wanted to explode, the pain in her cheek not helping at all.
"My face is fine. I can fix it up in the common room. You on the other hand? Kyle I'm sorry, you look like you're dying. That doesn't seem fine to me." She said, her voice rising as she spoke. She was honestly about to scream at the top of her lungs. Rip her own hair out... Hell, if they were still beating people up she might pull Kyle's hair out.
And speaking of beating people up, Isaac eventually found the two. His usually cool toned brown eyes were now dripping with rage. He approached the two, and Marla almost flinched.
"I'll give you ten seconds to explain why you punched someone. Ten seconds. If by the time they're up you haven't said anything of worth, then you'll be sorry." He threatened, keeping his eyes locked on Kyle's without blinking. Oh my god. He was dead serious. This was getting worse by the second. Should she walk away? Was this even her business anymore?
"Guys, please stop–"
And as if it were a miracle, another person walked onto the scene. A girl with porcelain skin and dark hair, along with blue eyes that contrasted with both. She was quite pretty, but it was hard to focus on that while Isaac and Kyle were about to throw punches at one another. The girl, who after further inspection, Marla noted as a Slytherin, began to question the two boys. How did she know them? Were they friends? In that case, thank god. She couldn't diffuse this situation on her own, and it was great that someone else was there to help. Afterwards, she turned to Marla and asked if she were okay. The girl quickly nodded and turned her attention back to the two boys.
"Isaac, please calm down. It's over with." She begged in an attempt to prevent further escalating of the situation.

"I'll give you ten seconds to explain why you punched someone. Ten seconds. If by the time they're up you haven't said anything of worth, then you'll be sorry." the speaker was Issac, one of the people from the bathroom. One of the ones who drew a wand on him. Kyle’s eye twitches and his right hand tightened into a fist and he took a single step towards the other boy ready to punch him right in the mouth. Let’s see how he liked THAT for answer.
Moments before he went through with punching the other boy his cousin, of all people in this giant friggen castle, walked up to the three of them and he closed his eyes and took a deep breath. Illowy had been in the hospital wing recently and he didn’t want to cause a situation where she could be hurt again. When Kyle opens his eyes he looks to the two girls before bringing a glare towards Issac
”if everyone could just leave me alone...I’ll be fine. All I’ve been trying to do is get away from people and you all just won’t take the damn hint” he points to Marla’s face, to the singes on their cloths and the cuts on his knuckles ”this is cause people won’t leave me alone. And you” he points at Issac ”I will put you in the ground if you threaten me again”
Kyle had a fire in his eyes as if he was a cornered wild animal ready to lash out at everyone near him. He gave his cousin a look “Magpie, you know me well enough to know I ain’t playing here. I just need space, and I’ll be fine”

A bad day continued
It didn't exactly take a genius to put together that the damage to the red head's face was the fault of Kyle. She never would have thought he'd ever hit someone like that, but especially not a girl. Illowy bit her tongue when he threatened to "put Isaac in the ground". That was a threat she defiantly wasn't okay with, not after everything they'd been through after she risked life and sanity to help him; but now wasn't the time or place to try to tackle that.
Then the girl nearly flinched when Kyle raised his voice, but years of fighting with him, hell even actually fighting him, trained her to know better. This was one of those moments where it her stoic, cold nature came in handy. All the same, that didn't mean that the look of pure rage in his eye that he shot at her scared her any less then it ought to, even if she refused to show it. Something was wrong with him, she could feel it in her bones. If space was what he needed, she was more then prepared to try to help him achieve that before anyone else got hurt.
"Okay, okay." she agreed, putting her bandaged hands up in surrender before she turned her attention to her friend and the girl, "Isaac, go..." she pressed her lips in a soft line, trying to keep her voice calm and level as she touched a hand to the curly haired boy's chest, trying to gently urge him to back off. She'd have a talk with him about this later and try to understand the other side of the story, but for now, she had to put her family as a first priority, "...Please." she added softly, "Just... just go and take her," she nodded towards Marla, "to get patched up and I'll come find you later. I can handle this. Okay?" Illowy prayed he'd just do as she asked.
He'd have to trust that she could handle Kyle on her own. Just as well, she didn't want Kyle to dig himself into an even bigger hole of trouble, and if there was anyone in this school ready to deal with whatever the boy had to dish out, she figured it would be her. However, nothing would be able to calm down if they didn't separate the two boys before they tore each other to pieces...
