I Just Had To Get Lost PV Talia Piper :)

Talia had probably ran into twelve things so far that day. Mostly poles and pillars, a few suits of armor, and several lucky students. And that always ended with her squealing some sort of rushed apology before she continued to walk. But the key word was always sorry, and it was always repeated at least five times. And she would still say sorry to the poles and pillars, mostly out of habit. But hey, maybe they had feelings too!

As she walked through the corridors, going nowhere in particular and having no plans for the day, she looked down at her shoes, playing some strange variation of Hopscotch and Don't step on the crack! with her tiny fuzzy sock-clad feet. It was quite entertaining, and she didn't really have anything better to do, after all. She hummed a new tune she'd been composing lately, her fingers moving slightly as she imagined playing her guitar to the beat. Her mind was completely in the clouds, as if she had put it on a rocket ship and blasted it into outer space. Maybe she had. Tal had a habit of sleepwalking. And then she ran right into something, or... someone. She looked up from where she'd fallen onto the ground, clinging to her scarf for dear life. It was a boy.

"Oh, I'm sorry! Are you okay, did I hurt you? Please tell me I didn't hurt you! I'm sorry, I've ran into a million different things today, guess it's just my luck," she said quickly, smiling widely, her eyes full of worry and hope he'd forgive her for her intolerable act.

"I'm Talia, by the way. Really sorry I have to meet you like this, I would've preferred a little bit of a more graceful encounter, but I guess that was out of the picture," Tal laughed, standing up quickly and sticking out her small hand confidently.

Alex blinked fast. Holy moly mother of Jesus what just happened. He looked up to see a small girl who seemed to be a bit shorter than him (Wow that was a first,) with brown hair and warm hazel eyes looking at him, worried. He guessed that she was the one he bumped into. Boy, way to be a klutz, Alex. Good job. She was wearing a scarf and had fuzzy socks on her small feet. Alex's feet were actually quite small, but not as small as hers. He got up slowly, scratching the back of his head. The girl was rambling about how she was worried that she'd hurt him. He chuckled softly. "Oh no no no, don't worry, I wasn't looking where I was going, I should be the one to apologize, not you," he said with a smile. The girl was cute and tiny. That sounded a bit funny in his head because he's gay, but she just had an innocent look to her. He did actually have the same aura, but probably not as much as the girl. He was wearing a flowy white long sleeved shirt, black pants, and a beret towards the back of his head. The girl introduced herself as Talia and stook her hand out for him to shake it. He shook her tiny hand with his, which was also quite small. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Talia. My name is Alex. Alex Cheong," he said with a smile on his porcelain face.

The whole event was a bit of a floop. Well, Tal described it as a floop, she couldn't remember what the proper words were. It had all happened so fast, and then it was over! Quick, that was the word. Quick and chaotic. Though personally Tal did prefer the word floop. It sounded so much happier and fluffier!

But unlike the multiple other crashing-into-each-other-on-accident-before-continuing-to-do-your-thing Talia had been involved in that day, she decided to make a friend. Friends were good, Talia liked friends, and this boy was so nice! How could someone not try to be friends with him?

She grinned lopsidedly. "It really is my fault. You're completely fine, I'm glad you're okay!" came her sing-songy playful voice. It was a good day, that day was. Everyday was a good day, if you could figure out how to make it one! After all, the sun was shining and the birds were chirping and even the wind seemed to be cheerful as its gentle breeze blew outside with the quietest whistle. The world was happy. So Tal was happy.

"The pleasure is all mine, Alex! You seem cool, pretty lucky we ran into each other! Though we did quite literally run into each other," she added sheepishly, giggling.

Alex chuckled slightly. This was quite the meeting. First, they both fall onto the ground from running into each other, probably both self proclaimed klutzes at times. Then apologizing, both nervous what the other would say. The girl seemed quite nice. She didn’t seem like the person to hate you for no reason. For a little, he was a little scared that she would be one of those ditzy girls who annoy the heck out of him, twirling their hair with their fingers while trying to flirt with him and fluttering their eyelashes, (which always fails, he’s gay, duh, plus their quite terrible at it) but she wasn’t like that. Talia was quite kind and was truely worried that she knocked over Alex. She seemed like she could be another friend of his. Alex smiled, his eyes forming crescents. ”No, don’t take the blame. It was my fault, not yours. I’m glad you’re okay too! I hope I didn’t hurt you...” he said. Alex chuckled as Talia said it was her pleasure while rambling a bit. ”Well, you’re not exactly wrong. May I ask what you were doing before you ran into me? You seemed quite distracted.” he said, still chuckling a bit.

Tal smiled playfully, a big teasing smile. “I’d try to argue and say that it truly is my fault, but I don’t think you’d let me win. So instead I’m going to say, I’m completely fine as well!”

Even the littlest disagreements worried the Hufflepuff. She never wanted to accidentally hurt someone’s feelings or make herself seem rude or hostile at all. Funny, for the sweet tiny girl couldn’t possibly seem hostile no matter how she tried. But, she didn’t know that. All Tal wanted was an abundance of friends. And an equal abundance of puppies.

So Talia just winked flamboyantly and then laughed at herself. “Yeah, I definitely was distracted. Just thinking up a new melody to maybe play on my guitar some time, and trying not to step on the cracks in the floor!”

Tal wondered if Alex liked music. Or if he wanted one of the lollipops she had in her bag. Sweet candies were often one of the easiest and most common ways Talia bonded with other people, probably coming in right after falling into each other.

The girl decided it couldn’t hurt to ask. She dug through her book bag until she found one of the muggle candies and held it out. Strawberry flavored, she hoped he liked strawberries. “Do you want a lollipop?”

Alex gave her a cheeky smile and bopped her nose. ”Eheh I win.” he said joking. ”I’m glad you’re okay! I seriously thought I killed you or something. I was walking quite quickly.” he said. Alex didn’t like arguing either and he was quite sensitive, but it would take a lot to break the small boy. He was tough and could beat anyone up if he wanted! (No he couldn’t, he’s too small and definitely not intimidating, he just wished he could.) Alex’s eyes lit up at the mention of guitar and music. He turned to her slowly. ”You play the guitar? Awesome! I love music, I sing and play the piano.” he said with a big smile. Music was one of his main motivators in life. He just loved the sound of it, and whenever he was stressed, music. Tired? Music. Everything? Music. He chuckled at his thoughts. He was a weird kid at times. He turned back to Talia who was rummaging through her bag for something. Alex raised an eyebrow and tilted his head to the side. The girl pulled out a lollipop which looked like tO was strawberry and asked him if he wanted it. He nodded with a smile and unwrapped it, the lollipop being the color of his lips.
