Brawl In the Hall
Please try and post within two weeks of the person before you or let me know if you aren't so we can keep this going since it's a larger group. Also, pretty please follow the posting order! Scarlett and I have planned out about 2 rounds of fighting after which point, we'll either get a professor or prefect to intervene or say that Pei, Lindsey, and Allie pulled Ana off successfully, so we'll have probably 3 rounds of posting total(one entering and watching the fight start, one watching it continue, and one succeeding in ending the fight/leaving). Thank you, I can't wait to thread with all of y'all!
@Staffers, I totally get that there's a chance of detention for this, but if you could wait a bit since I have quite a bit planned out, that would be amazing!

Ana was so sick of everything. All of the things that had been so important to her before the summer seemed pointless now. Even the prospect of Quidditch tryouts didn't delight her the way it had before everything happened. It was like she was living someone else's life with someone else's friends and classes and school. She'd stopped writing everyone the night that it had happened, stopped reading the letters even. Anytime she did anything other than mope around the house, she felt like she was betraying her mother. Her mother had been far from perfect, and the days leading up to her death hadn't exactly helped uncomplicate her feelings about her. Still, she was her mother and despite all of her failures, Ana believed that she had done the best she could to be what she thought was a good and loving mother. She had a very wrong idea as to what that entailed, but she had tried.
People were really stupidly complicated. Ana had liked the world so much better when she thought everyone was either good or bad and had trusted her own judgment to discern between the two. She had lost both of those now. She had gradually been learning that people were more so much more than just good or just evil. It seemed to her that everyone was a mix of the two and their choices were really what made the difference. Losing that belief hadn't hurt as badly since it had been disappearing as she matured, and she suspected it was something of a right of passage. Losing faith in her judgment, herself, was what destroyed her. Her mother's death was a blur and Ana's mind had blocked out many details. That left the girl to choose between two options. The first was the most logical, something Ana had always held high, but it meant that Ana was wrong about everything in her life and that her father was something unspeakable. The second threw away logic in favor of not losing everything Ana had ever based any beliefs or anything on. Neither one was really an option for her. She couldn't simply ignore the facts to believe that her father was the person she'd thought he was, but she also refused to acknowledge the fact that he would do something like what he seemed to have done.
Her refusal to make a choice put her in a complete wreck emotionally, which meant she was pushing away her friends and lashing out at them if they tried to press her about what was going on. She was confused and heartbroken and angry all the time and she didn't know how she could tell anyone about any of it. It also really didn't help that there were all sorts of insane rumors flying around about her and her family. It was to be expected, seeing as the entire Beckett family had gone completely and totally radio silent and nobody had seen or heard from them since Athena's garden party in early July until Ana was shopping for her school supplies in late August.
Ana didn't care. She couldn't figure anything out about her emotions or what had happened, and she sure as hell didn't owe anything to any of the nosy gossips at school. They could speculate all they wished about the girl's sudden change in appearance and demeanor, but they would never come anywhere near the truth.
The Gryffindor walked briskly down the hall, her head down and her fingers tightly clutching her book bag as her robes billowed behind her. Anyone who had known the Gryffindor in previous years would be able to instantly spot that something was off. Her normally perfect curls or braids had been abandoned in favor of a messy and kind of scary looking ponytail, and her eye makeup was far darker than it had ever been previously. Her entire body language was different too. Instead of the confident girl who had strutted the halls and terrified other students, she seemed quiet and withdrawn. She still snapped at anyone who got in her way, but her mischievous smiles and laughs that she shared with friends in previous years were gone. Her friends had already begun to notice and press her, which wasn't good for her relationships. She still hadn't fully processed what was going on and all that had happened, so she had no idea what to say to her friends about it. Unfortunately, this meant that she had opted to lash out at her friends and push them away as hard as she could instead of leaning on them for the support and comfort she so desperately needed.
Rafael for instance. She had been avoiding him since the train, but he seemed determined to figure out why she was so changed. She had told that she was fine and that it wasn't his business anyway in response to pretty much everything he had said, but he hadn't seemed to want to accept that. He had apparently taken that to mean "bug me anytime we aren't sleeping or in class and make it basically impossible for me to have alone time". It was most irritating. A part of her was grateful that he cared enough to do that, but more of her was annoyed. Her pricky attitude was her misguided way to protect herself and her friends' emotions. Some part of her knew that she was a ticking time bomb and when she did finally admit to herself what had happened, she was going to explode and destroy everyone around her. Ironically enough, she failed to see that that was exactly what she was doing now.
He didn't seem to see it that way, as evidenced by his following her at the moment, and managing to track her down half the time when she was trying to avoid it. Right about then, she regretted having a best friend who knew her so well. Not only had he figured out something was up, he knew where she was most likely to go when she was upset. It also didn't help that her schedule meant they were constantly running into one another in the halls. Right then, for instance, Rafa had somehow found her in the crowds of people and was presisting at asking for some explanation as to why she was very clearly not at all okay. As she tried to focus on anything other than Rafa's concerns and questions, she overhead some snippet of a younger girl's conversation.
"Beckett... heard she murdered her parents"
She literally saw red as she stopped in her tracks and spun around to face the fool who had said it. She had no idea who this was, which somehow made her even more livid. Who the fuck was she to talk about Ana's life? Who did that? Ana didn't even realize what she was doing until she had launched herself at the girl. Her first met the gossip's face with a satisfying crunch as Ana's rage exploded. "Who the fuck-" Ana screamed, her emotions so out of control she could hardly speak straight. It wasn't just her anger at this meddling whiner that was exploding either, it was her heartbreak and suppressed rage about her summer, her irritation at Rafa and Ruby and Eyre and all of her friends who thought that they were entitled to her emotions and secrets. In short, Ana would not want to be whoever it was she was attacking.

The day was going alright until she was attacked.
It wasn't the best day of her life, or the worst day, but it was better than usual. She did well in lessons, had no arguments with her friends and ate her favourite food at lunch. After the school day had concluded, Scarlett was just wandering around Hogwarts, looking for something to do. It was that time when there was just nothing interesting, nothing to participate in, nothing to do and nothing urgent. She really hated it. It was all going to change soon anyway.
She saw one of her casual friends. They didn't talk much and due to Scarlett's terrible memory, she didn't even know her name. Scarlett decided to strike up another conversation with her and reconnect - who knew where their relationship might go? And, yes, being saved from boredom was a plus.
"Scarlett?" asked the girl. She had lovely blonde hair and blue eyes, like the typical cliche. "I haven't seen you in ages!"
"Ditto," said Scarlett jovially. "And, sorry about this-"
She laughed to indicate that she didn't want anyone to be too hurt by the fact that she had forgotten their name.
"But what's your name again?"
The girl, her kind-of friend, opened her mouth and was about to respond, when Scarlett's attention caught on a girl, walking down the hall, head bowed. The girl's fingers were clutching her book bag tightly, as if it might fly off on a gust of wind at any moment. Her hair was in an elaborate ponytail with braids and stuff - it looked a bit unnecessary to Scarlett - and her makeup was dark and bold. Following Scarlett's gaze, her blonde friend also looked at the girl. Scarlett recognised her as Anastasia Beckett, famed and feared for many things - setting people on fire was a popular one. There had been rumours, so many rumours, circulating around Hogwarts at the moment. Anastasia had murdered her parents. Anastasia's parents were kidnapped. Et cetera, et cetera.
Scarlett thought this was all terribly unlikely - only sociopaths would murder their parents, and as far as she knew, there were no sociopaths in Hogwarts - but decided to pass on the gossip. It would be interesting to see how tales were twisted around the school. If Anastasia was strong-willed enough, she could deal with gossip. Scarlett could. (though it usually ended with her raging mad and screaming at someone)
"Wait, sorry-" said Scarlett. "But you see that girl? That's Anastasia Beckett. I heard she murdered her parents."
And that was how it started. Beckett happened to be passing by at the exact moment (thank you ever so much fate) and whirled round suddenly. She look mad. Madder than mad. Her eyes were wide and crazed and everything about her screamed 'HIGHLY AGGRESSIVE'. Her blonde friend scurried away. So much for sticking by your friends in times of need.
"Who the f**k-" started Beckett, sounding like a crazed maniac.
Before Scarlett could actually process what was happening, Beckett's fist met her face and Scarlett heard a sickening crunch as pain flared up everywhere. She reached up for her nose and when she saw her fingers, they had a lot - a lot - of blood on them.
Anger flared up in Scarlett in that way that was impossible to control, impossible to stop as Scarlett screamed, "What the actual f**k do you thing you're doing?"
She didn't know what she was doing either - just driven by pure instinct to hurt this girl as much as she had hurt Scarlett. Scarlett kicked her in the stomach hard but decided to wanted to draw some blood as well, so punched her in the face like she had done to her. Oh yes. This could turn into a fight.

Hiya! Sorry I changed some of what Scarlett does in the fight Ana, but just kicking doesn't seem very, um, violent xD I also censored the curses because I'm lame like that lmao

Change… stressed Rafa out.
Well, to be fair, a lot of things were stressing the Captain out these days. Individuals with high-pitched voices, responsibility, confronting people he didn’t like… well, in the least, he was a different person than the rowdy Thunderbird Captain he’d been in his first year, and in more ways in one. But the feeling of change… that was a feeling he knew with a stark certainty would remain the same. In a way, he supposed he’d always been running from the idea of losing grasp of his own status quo, waking up one day to find himself in a state of existence he didn’t recognize. He had good reason. Change, after all, was what had brought him to England all those years ago, ripping him away from his past relationships and culture, even language – to have the rug ripped out from him was not a feeling he liked in the very least, but Universe-be damned if change didn’t come flying at him from every which way. Nothing ever worked to his liking, but that was a fact he’d long since come to terms with it. After all, he didn’t break easily.
Not until now.
Because Ana wasn’t supposed to change. No, like the orbit of the moon around the earth, like the gravity that pulled you to the floor, like the pain that followed contact with fire, there were some things that simply weren’t capable of changing. Ana had been one of those few things in the eyes of the young child, an untaintable image of what it meant to be happy, carefree – he was wrong. For what once was cheerful conversation, was a well of silence. What once was a bridge between the two, was now a chasm. What once was a brilliant smile that glowed like the sun itself in radiance was now a sullen, lifeless look, as if the girl hadn’t seen the light of day in a million years. As if the world had come to an end, and there was no hope of fixing it. There were no hugs, no talks in the hall. No communication. Though she had only recently been admitted to the Quidditch Team, there were no one-on-one practices, no friendly jesting. It was like she had turned into a different person, a stranger the young Captain had never before met in his life. And it hurt. It hurt in ways the Captain couldn’t begin to describe, a deep ache that dug deep into his chest every time he thought about it too hard, watched her slumped form from the back row in class. It simply wasn’t right.
He had to know why.
And it was the perfect day to find out. The boy had made preparations, having packed up his books five minutes early, cleaned up his workspace as to prepare for an early departure – an unusual activity for the chaotic child, especially in the classroom, when he would rather wage war against the staff through spitballs and secret notes, both of which were directed at his peers. School was simply… too boring for the idle child. The recurring vision of a sullen Ana, however, encouraged the boy to push through his impulses, steel his nerves for the moment he would escape the confines of the classroom, his eyes glued on the clock as if his life depended on it. The time of action would come soon enough – after almost an hour of studying, the very moment class would be declared dismissed, he would abruptly launch from where he sat, wasting no time in rushing out of the room as his feet promptly carried him to where he assumed Ana to be at such an hour. [He’d asked a random third year Gryffindor for her schedule, in which he was now basing his assumptions.] It wouldn’t take long at all for him to find who he was looking for. She was so close… yet the answers were so far out of reach… but he needed to know, in the least, why she hated him. If not for information, then for the consolation of his own self esteem.
Taking a deep breath, he walked up to her.
The average onlooker would be able to notice it immediately – his shoulders were hiked up, the hood he illegally wore underneath his Hogwarts sweater pulled close to his neck by stiff fingers, his eyes drifting every now and then towards the ground, or the walls nearby, or to his shoes, the same grass-stained sneakers he always wore. He was nervous – but fear had never stopped him before. “Anastasia Beckett,” he weakly demanded aloud, his voice echoing across the many facets of the hallway. She wouldn’t pay him any mind – another stab wound. Too bad the Gryffindor was persistent as he was. Trying to match her pace, he began walking beside her, much like a paparazzi trying to fight for the attention of a movie star. “Ana I – stop walking. I need to talk to you.” Then, “Why are you ignoring me? What’s wrong? What did I do?” The questions tumbled from his lips, floodgates opening to release an incoherent jumble of inquiries regarding the girl’s odd behaviors, ignorant attitude – it was almost therapeutic, how he could do nothing to stifle the flow, only unloading all his confusion on the girl at its source. This was it, this was as close as he had been to answers in the past few weeks…
And then he would hear it. "That’s Anastasia Beckett. I heard she murdered her parents."
Murder. There was something… horribly, revoltingly wrong with the way that word sounded, especially on the lips of a stranger. No, that can’t be right. Ana wasn’t capable of murder. Nonetheless, the footsteps of the Captain had halted in a moment’s notice, his eyes growing to the size of saucers as his mouth fell open, books tumbling from his grip as his hands began to shake. That wasn’t right – the girl, she was lying, surely. Anastasia wouldn’t hurt a fly. But she isn’t talking to you, either, is she? Why is that? his head begged. Is she hiding something? If so, what could be horrible enough to hide from you? Her best friend? A torrent of emotion fluttered through the chest of the boy in that moment, and he couldn’t help but let his mind wander, the anxiety beginning to chew away at all rational thought as he fell deeper and deeper into the pool of insecurity that had accumulated since the beginning of the school year. What… what was she hiding? Would Ana really kill? Is that why she was so heartless? “Wh-at?” was all that could fall from his lips, a choked remark barely audible over the voices of children traversing through the halls. What was going on, what did it all mean… what was Ana hiding?
He couldn’t even take notice of his books that had clattered to his feet, nor the angry shouts of Anastasia as she turned on a helpless bystander. The adrenaline was too strong, the anxiety too stifling. His head was pounding far too fast, his breath escaping from his lungs as a bead of sweat began to form on his brow. He couldn’t do this. No – Anastasia wouldn’t. But that wasn’t Anastasia… that was someone else completely. His hands were shaking visibly now, his heart beginning to pound in his chest as his eyes searched about wildly. This wasn’t happening. This was only a dream…
I probably haven't collected my allowance yet.

September 7th. The first day of classes. Just after arriving at Hogwarts, Allie had memorized this day's date, anxious to begin learning anything and everything the school could offer. She hadn't been able to wait until classes started.
Luckily, the beginning of the day had gone as well as it could, although she had been alone more often than she liked. It seemed that whenever she passed others in the hall, they were chatting and hanging out with large groups of friends. And although she had met a few other first years in her time at Hogwarts so far, she hadn't seen many of them throughout the day. To be fair though, she hadn't exactly been looking for them, since she had been quite busy trying to make sure she got everything correct in her classes, but still. . . Allie wished that she had already made a few closer friends that she could hang out with during the day and on a regular basis.
After flying through all her classes, Allie was ready for a break. Even though she loved her schoolwork, she still needed times where she could just be herself and have fun. What she ended up doing that afternoon was almost the opposite. Well, there wasn't very much fun happening. . . but you could say she was being herself.
Around ten minutes after classes had finished, Allie had been walking around the many corridors of Hogwarts when she ended up in a particularly busy spot. There was a lot going on there, at least compared to the other halls she had been in, and Allie looked around curiously. She noted all the different students that were there and searched for someone she could talk to. Most of them were all much older than her and probably didn't want a first year joining in on their conversations. . . She sighed and decided to just keep observing the people around her.
A few conversations were happening between friends, but none caught her eye. She stood against one wall, and was just about to leave the hall and go to the Ravenclaw Common Room instead when she heard something that made her stop short. Allie immediately spun around just in time to see a tall, brown haired girl attack another girl, punching her hard enough to draw blood. It took almost everything in her not to scream at the sight. "What - why - " Everyone else in the hall looked just as stunned.
The first year stared at the scene, horrified. Both of the girls that were fighting seemed a few years older than her, and they seemed beside themselves with anger. Her eyes taking in the whole scene at once, she noticed a boy standing a little ways behind the girl who had attacked first, looking awfully confused. Allie was pretty sure he had been talking to the girl just a little bit before. . . She took a step away from the fight, intending to leave, but then hesitated. Who knew how much damage the two students could do to each other before a Prefect or Professor saw them and pried them apart?
Taking a deep breath, and hardly knowing what she was doing, Allie pushed through the crowd, hurrying towards the fight, instead of away from it.

Opeila had a good day. Or... as good as possible under given circumstances. Schoollife had started again. For the second year that meant a lot of excuses to not think of her out of Hogwarts misery. More learning about magic. Opeila used to be very fascinated of magic, but her first year pretty much destroyed the fairytale image that had existed in her head before entering the train for the first time.
And despite her being certain that she didn't want to return to Hogwarts after summer camp- something she had said to her father in the car back home- it felt good to be back. When she had made what she thought was the heavy decision of not going back to Hogwarts, she had thought that she would not see Flash again very soon, one of the very few bright spots that came with living in Hogwarts. Then there was her boyfriend Percival. Not coming back would have likely meant the end of their relationship. But here she was. The decision was taken away from her. And for some reason, she was thankful for it.
Opeila was on her way to the study room. She had just survived two lessons of Transfiguration, which always had been a challenge for the twelve year old. That had not changed over the holidays, she still found it very hard. By now she was mostly able to turn matches into needles and back, but that had taken quite an amount of practicing outside of the lessons.
Her gaze wandered over the faces of the people walking towards and past her. She spotted a few familiar faces, but none that she could pair with a name.
She only turned around a corner when something caught her attention. A Gryffindor girl, a third or fourth year maybe, screamed at another Gryffindor girl. The Slytherin's eyes widened, when the two suddenly started to attack each other. If Opeila was the same person she had been beginning of her first year, she would have probably wondered if this was some stupid Gryffindor thing. By now Opeila had been in too many fights though, there was no way that she could judge people for it. She looked at the watching crowd. No prefects or professors.
On the other side of the two girls, Opeila spotted a Ravenclaw girl, who was pushing through the crowd towards the two, trying to stop the fight by the looks of it.
Before Opeila could realize what she was doing, she found herself doing the same. She dropped her bag and tried to get ahold of the older girl. "Wow, wow! Calm down! What is going on here?" She hoped that the Ravenclaw would see to the other girl. There was another familiar face. Rafael D'Spacito, who she knew was not bad at throwing punches himself. Could you give me a hand here? She prioritized the fight. Otherwise she might have noticed the panicking expression on his face.

Her summer had passed quietly. So was her first week of school.
Lindsey, wand in pocket and cautious in mind, was busy walking through the numerous corridors in Hogwarts. There were students everywhere, but she did not pay any attentions to them——the badger was busy thinking her own things.
From the day that she opened her missing uncle’s old diary, the decision to find out the truth was always in her head. She believed that she knew her aunt Dorothy now was not the real Dorothy. The real one should have been died when Perseus was around five. This one now was probably a Metamorphmagus or something like that, and she, or even he, had came aiming to murder her mother, and maybe, even her.
Till now, she had only told this to Edmund, whom she trusted the most. Lindsey did not dare to tell her parents or her grandparents, because that would only make things worse. They would immediately ask her why, and read the diaries, then threw the Dorothy now to the Ministry. That was too rapid. What if Uncle Nathan had been wrong? What if the murderer murdered them before they could even act? Or, what if the real Dorothy Ellient was destined to be murdered? And maybe she even deserved the death? Lindsey did not know. Nor did Edmund. The two Springhall siblings had talked about it privately for a couple of times throughout the summer, but none of them had an idea.
She needed to find out. Or all her family was in great danger. She could not bare it.
As her mind was busy thinking these sort of things, Lindsey heard someone yelling. She raised up her head and put a hand on her wand.
Was there some hags or vampires attacking young students? Her first reaction was like that. Lindsey could still remember the rumours last year, and she was somehow nervous.
While she approached closer quietly, she had found out——no. An older girl, maybe a third year or a fourth year, was yelling furiously at a younger one. It seemed that she would be attacking the poor younger girl in a few seconds.
Maybe she’d just leave it alone. Being calm and cautious, growing up, Lindsey had never make herself an impetuous child. She did not want to mess her nose with things she should not be caring, but this time, it was different. She knew what’s right and what’s not, and stopping the fight was clearly right.
So horrible. Lindsey glanced at the crowd. No one was trying to stop them? She thought, and her eyes had a haughty light in. No prefects or professors, and therefore, nobody would come to rescue. And she believed that they would soon all elope away as soon as a prefect came.
Cowards. All cowards.
Her expression was pretty haughty now. No one up for dragging them apart? Then she would be here. She would be the one doing right things, even if only she was doing it.
Lindsey pushed the crowds apart, and jumped to the first row of the gossip crowds. She now had a clearer view——the older girl was really cool, but angry like a grizzly bear. And her victim was, oh dear, Scarlett Aden.
“Scar-Scarlett?” Lindsey muttered, not paying attention to whether Scarlett had heard. “Scarlett!”
This time the red headed girl’s name was yelled out loud, and Lindsey was rushing to her. She had probably tripped someone while she was running, and she turned back and added a small apologetic smile. Gosh, she had to be quick.
“Hey, hey please calm down a bit! What happened? You could tell me about it properly, instead of attacking her!” she called out loud to the furious girl.
As she was doing this, Lindsey noticed someone was trying to do the same thing like her——dragging this furious girl away. Finally there was someone doing the right thing. She glanced at the crowd disdainfully again, then turned to see who were trying to stop the girl.
She was glad to see Opeila, whom she had always had a good impression on, trying to stop the furious student. A Ravenclaw girl who seemed younger had the worried and helpful expression on, and was busy pushing the crowd to get to the “battlefield”. Also a familiar face of a boy that she had probably met somewhere was nearby.
Not a very strong army, but respectful. Lindsey believed that they could do it, and possibly save the poor Scarlett.
“Opeila! Could you lend me a hand to…stop her?” She called out to the Slytherin girl. The Lindsey turned to the furious girl, arm stretching out to drag her right arm. “Oh please calm down! We could finish everything off by words, instead of fight, okay?”
Action: Trying to drag Ana’s right arm, and trying to stop all this by words.

Brawl In the Hall
It was the first day of classes and Henry had a lot more on his mind then just classes, all day that day his mind kept going to his hidden family and life making it impossible to study or learn. Not that Henry cared, mostly because he welcomed toward thoughts as they were what occupied his mind most of the time since that summer then anything else really and since only two or three others knew about hid hidden life and family then that made him isolating himself off from others much easier but it wasn't helping him. Actually it was hurting him as his anxiety took things the wrong way and made things so much worse which is what was happening in this situation.
Even thought classes just ended, Henry tie was already undone and his slytherin robes were off and hanging over his shoulder while his messager type bag was on the other. His shirt was also untucked which now made it visible that he forgot to wear his belt that morning but surprising no one mentioned it to be him nor did he lose any house points for his improper uniform. Henry was about to step into the great hall when he saw Heather, a ravenclaw who was suppose to be in their second year like Henry but was repeating their first year for some reason. Henry guessed it was because she missed part of their original firsts year for a reason that Henry was curious on but dared wouldn't say.
While the two bickered a lot together, that didn't mean that the two weren't friends because in fact Henry saw the tall, blonde haired girl as his friend but wouldn't dare say since he was sort of or kind of afaird that she would laugh at him or make fun if him for the fact. Henry however was relived when he saw her since the only time his thoughts weren't occupied to his hidden life or family was when he was hanging out with friends so that was what he was going to do to give his mind a break from thinking about his many, many problems.
Henry approached Heather just before they entered the great hall, he waves to her as he spoke " Hey ravenclaw, how was it being the oldest in your classes," he posed his question as their usual and some what confronting banter. Henry did saw the others around them pushing and rushing to get to the great hall, at the rate they were going it looked like a fight or something would break out. Henry waved a hand at the door as he spoke " care to join me ravenclaw or do you have some little first years to play pretend with?" Henry laughed a bit as he stumbled into the great hall with Heather supposedly by his side when he looked which gave him a idea.
While Henry was walking to the ravenclaw table, for a odd reason the boy sat more at the ravenclaw and hufflepuff table and even sometimes gryffindor then his own. That was probably because he had no friends or only knew 2 or 3 fellow Slytherin's in his own house while all of his friends were different houses which earned him some names and bullying from the fellow Slytherin's which they saw him as a traitor to their house, sort of. Henry turned his head to Heather as he spoke " you know what ravenclaw? I think I actually might be taller then you," Henry knew that she was a inch taller then him but it was fun to joke about as he spoke again " no really, you seem to have shrunken over the summer Heather while I obviously grew. I bet you that I'm taller then you, ravenclaw."
Henry placed his messager type bag on the ravenclaw table then placed his slytherin robes on top of his bag before going back to back with Heather as he stood a bit on his tip toes. Henry struggled to keep his balance a bit as he spoke " told you I was taller," Henry then stumbled forward a bit as he lost his balance but caught himself just in time before he fell to the ground which would have been truly awkward. Henry then turned to face Heather as he ran a hand through his hair as he spoke " alright, laugh it up Ravenclaw," Henry then took a seat at the ravenclaw table and turned to face Heather before speaking again " so seriously how was your classes? Mine were bloody boring but I also had a bit on my mind so."
Henry decided against telling her about his hidden life and family but before Henry could say anything more, he heard a girl speak; "Who the fuck-" that's when Henry saw a fight break out between two gryffindor girls. Henry got up and approached the two as a group of students started to form. He hoped that no one would cheer on the fight but it was Hogwarts after all and those types of things always happened which sicken Henry. As he watched, Henry recognized both girls; one was Anastasia Beckett whose family was a pureblood family with lots of power tied into the ministry but they also had some disturbing rumours over the summer not that Henry believed in rumours or anything.
The other was Scarlett Aden who was a childhood friend of Henry, they met up accidentally during their first year but it was still sort if awkward between then two so they didn't really meet much. Henry watched as three girls tried to pull the two a part and Henry thought about helping but didn't know if he should as he looked around for a prefect or professor. Henry then saw Heather next to him and he leaned in close to her so only she could hear as he whispered to her " that's Anastasia Beckett, did you hear the rumours about her this year?"

The first day of classes was... boring. And this apparent harmless fact made a certain Ravenclaw feel way too uneasy.
Heather, who always liked to consider herself a curious child, who could find something intriguing even in the most mundane things- such as the way grass grew, somehow found herself bored to death; that was a new feeling. And, contrary to what would one believe at first, it wasn’t because she has to repeat her year and, obviously, learn once more some spells and potions she already knows. No, she had already prepared herself mentally for this, and the girl was actually quite excited at the thought. She had the chance to re-experience so many things and to make them right this time... like changing that 'A' from Transfiguration into an 'O', for example. That was great, right? Well, even though she should see the good in all of this, in all honesty... Heather wasn't really feeling this year.
She had tried to be more excited, to force happy thoughts in her mind, and to wear fake smiles until they became real ones, she really did. But, goodness, it was clear that she wasn’t doing well at all- her emotions were all over the place, and her wreck of a mind made it so much harder to bottle everything up like she used to.
Recently, for example, the girl found herself slipping away from her usually cheerful persona and having these sick thoughts and urges to do some strange, and at times really mean things; and honestly, Heather had no idea where did this part of her came from, or where was it hidden all this time. The lack of sleep to be the cause? Possibly, insomnia was another kind of torture, but the Ravenclaw highly doubted it. She started to believe that, sadly, this was the real her and that, up until now she unknowingly wore a façade around everyone else. Add to these existential problems the fact that an aunt whom she never heard anything about suddenly sent her an owl which held some really disturbing revelations, and everyone would understand that, even if she had managed to get some rest the night before, Heather’s attention wouldn’t be turned towards the class anyways.
She was just so tired— the girl didn’t even bother to tell Henry, who suddenly approached her, that his attire was, literally, a wreck. Seriously, a few sudden movements and the boy's clothes would literally fly away. Speaking of him... “Sorry, what did you say?”
Shaking her head apologetically, Heather tried to focus on the Slytherin; she'd just realized that he was talking to her the whole time, while she was busy musing over his clothes. Either way, it seemed like her friend sensed that something wasn’t right with her, because he suddenly started to joke around a bit- as if he wanted to lift up her mood.
Feeling strangely thankful for his apparent worry, she went along with the boy's scheme of acting as if he miraculously grew taller than her in the span of two weeks since they last hung out, even though she wasn’t really in the mood. Though, when he almost tripped, she couldn’t hold back a laugh. “You know, I’m tired, not dumb,” she said, shaking her head and grinning. Bless his soul, Henry was a good guy. They had their fights, but overall, she could count on him.
Just as Heather started to regain a bit of her usual gleefulness, she suddenly felt it. It was so faint, that she would have mistaken it for a breeze coming from outside if it weren’t for the fact that a shiver crept down her spine; it was as if the air had suddenly gotten colder, and proof to that stood the goosebumps that covered the girl’s skin.
“Hey, is it just me, or has the temperature suddenly cooled down out of nowhere?” Judging by the boy’s furrowed brows, Heather assumed that it was, indeed, only in her mind. A little bit embarrassed, the Ravenclaw quickly shook her head. “Anyways, erm, what were we talking before? Ah, yeah, classes.” Suddenly, an eerie silence fell over the whole hall, but the Ravenclaw ignored it. “They were okay-” A few gasps could be heard in the background. “-but nothing out of the ordinary,” The blonde replied, the sound of some books falling to the ground echoeing ominously. “I just gotta say, the whole time I was bored as fu-” “fuck-”
Heather suddenly straightened up, looking concerned at Henry, who was staring at something behind her. Did he hear that scream too, or was she already hallucinating things? Following her friend’s gaze, the Ravenclaw turned her head around just in time to come face to face with the one and only Anastasia Beckett. It wasn’t hard to know who the Gryffindor was- even the girl who dropped out in the middle of the last year heard about the pureblood. Though, that's all Heather knew about her- her name, house, and blood status. So, seeing her suddenly punch a housemate of hers- so hard that blood started spilling out, made the young witch raise her eyebrows.
Now, it was bad, whatever was happening there, and even though she was way too impulsive at times, the girl didn't immediately jump between them, mainly because she'd half-expected to see someone else try to pry the two Gryffindors off each other. Though, it seemed like people were either too scared or interested in the fight to actually help.
“See? Gryffindors. Fighting in the hall, yet no one dares to intervene. My father was right, they really are the coolest house!” She whispered, not realizing that her words sounded really disturbing, considering the fact that what was happening was quite serious. Though, Henry’s horrified expression made her get the hint. Great, now she freaked out a Slytherin. “I-I mean, come on, let’s get closer in case we need to help or something,” she quickly added, taking the boy by the sleeve of his shirt and dragging him after her.
As she gradually approached the crowd that started to form around the girls, Heather noticed the redhead- whose bloodied nose seemed to be broken from afar, punch Anastasia in the stomach, but also in the face. An eye for an eye, mused the Ravenclaw.
Speaking of Ravenclaws, she noticed a fellow housemate trying to push against the crowd, surely in an attempt to stop the girls fighting and, for a second, Heather felt a pang of guilt- she always said that, if she were in a similar situation, she would try to calm everyone down, but now that she actually had the chance...she did nothing. In a small attempt to make herself feel less bad about her lack of contribution, she easily pushed some students out of the way, not only making space for her housemate to pass freely but also to get herself and Henry in the front lines. From there she could see everything much more clearly- now, she noticed two other girls, a Slytherin and a Hufflepuff, trying their hardest to break off the fight. Behind Anastasia stood another boy, clearly shocked, a bunch of books cluttered around his feet. The scene was quite mesmerizing, in a twisted way. Anastasia emanated so much anger, that everyone around her was overwhelmed; if she really wanted to hurt the redhead, probably now no one could stop her.
"That's Anastasia Beckett, did you hear the rumors about her this year?" Henry asked out of nowhere, and Heather suddenly remembered that he was next to her. Raising an eyebrow, the blonde furrowed her eyebrows. Did she really miss that much drama while she was gone...?
“No, not really,” The blonde replied, shaking her head shamefully. After a short moment of silence, she continued. “Care to fill me in?” Crossing her arms, she took her eyes off from the fight that took place in front of her, looking down at her feet. Even though Anastasia’s reaction to whatever the redhead had done was overly-aggressive, the Ravenclaw knew better than to judge before hearing the full story. And, maybe Henry filling in some blank spaces could help the girl take someone's side.

It had been a normal day, nothing huge or exciting, apart from it being back at Hogwarts. Honestly, Autumn had missed the place, with or without its flaws. However, she had been so terribly bored that day. Classes had begun today, but they had been easy and boring. The day's purpose was for first years to get settled, no matter how much they tried to hide it. It was meant to get everyone settled, but it was only ever about getting the first years adjusted to the trainwreck. That was actually good; Autumn remembered her first year fairly clearly. Being alone, overwhelmed and confused on her first day, too prideful to ask for help, and barely adjusting fast enough to the antics which followed being a student at the school of witchcraft and wizardry.
Autumn shook away the memories. They were not welcome. She had felt so weak and lost and small then, and she had felt that way only a few times before. She was not weak. However, she was curious and easily bored, so, when it was time for dinner, Autumn did one of the things she was best at; people-watching.
She saw Mars and apologised internally for the water fight incident that had taken place during the summer camp. She saw Aeri and a small smile set on her face. She saw Lucille and quickly looked away. She saw Anastasia Beckett punching Scarlett Aden. She saw-
Wait.
Autumn looked back at Anastasia and Scarlett. Why had Anastasia punched Scarlett? Had Scarlett said something? It was likely that she had, although anything was possible. It was likelier than Autumn would like that Scarlett had done nothing wrong. She had seen Beckett only a few times before, so she did not know much about the Gryffindor. Apparently she was a fiery flirt, someone not to be reckoned with. She would be lying if she had not been intrigued. Today however, was different. With rumours about Anastasia, some were admiring, while some where fearful. Today, they were all fearful.
Sure, Autumn had heard Beckett's name thrown around often, but never as much as today. Apparently, she had been extra moody today, and had been isolating herself from her friends. Some said her mother had died, others said that Anastasia had killed her. Perhaps Scarlett had made a comment about the rumours. Perhaps that would explain the look on Anastasia face, as if she were about the kill Scarlett and enjoy every second of it.
Whatever it was, Autumn would find out.
She ducked her head, did her best to blend in, and moved past the crowd to get a good look at the infamous Anastasia Beckett.
"That's Anastasia Beckett, did you hear the rumours about her this year?" a Slytherin boy in front of her spoke.
“No, not really. Care to fill me in?" the first year in Ravenclaw robes replied.
Rumours? That was where Autumn came in.
"They say she murdered her parents, that she did horrible, horrible things. Really, the rumours are not pulling their punches when talking about Anastasia Beckett. It's sort of sad, I suppose. I do not believe the rumours personally, and I recommend that you do not either. The rumours are nice when it's fun and games, but it often does not last that way for long."
She raised and eyebrow, yet did not wait for their responses before she moved through them too, to get a better view of what she hoped was the beginning of a fight.
