SALEM: The sequel  Finished

Kaegen was running down the corridors, slingshot in hand, Acid salamander poking his head of of the uncorked glass vial. Blood was dripping quickly, coming out of a gash in the ravenclaw boy's chest. The trail of blood led off down the corridors, to where he originally got the injury. At the hands of a first year that had cast diffindo.
Kaegen was positive at this point that it was no actual first year. It was a death witch that had made herself look like a student to infiltrate hogwarts. Adrenaline was shooting through Kaegen's body, The boy was running incredibly fast, not making a sound as he dashed off towards the library. He had heard the girl say that was where she was going, and it was the best lead he had.
He was going to end this one way or another, and had a pretty good plan all laid out. If he saw her, he would shoot her with a slingshot, letting his ants out as sort of a caltrops and just hope vortigern gets the hint and shoots in the right direction. These teachers were honestly incompetent, how did they let a full-fledged death witch into hogwarts?

SALEM: The sequel  Finished

Things had gone pretty smoothly since Krez had gotten pre-grounded, ironically enough. She had made a few more friends in the past few days and, well, she found that she had become less introverted because of these events!
She strolled down the corridors, hand in hand with one of her most recent buddies, Eris. As usual, she wasn't saying much, mostly listening to whatever it was Eris had to talk about today, smiling under her scarf and marching along with pep in her step. All was going well, and there was almost nothing anyone could do to ruin this fine evening.
But of course, why would anyone assume they could have nice things in this school?

A faint, unpleasantly familiar smell jolted her out of her peaceful state. Metallic, in a way that wasn't metal. It was coppery, no, iron-y? Either way, it made the hair on the back of her neck stand up and her grip on Eris' hand tighten.
Krez immediately began sniffing, looking around for the source of the scent like a bloodhound. Unfortunately, she didn't have the tracking skills that a bloodhound had, but it was apparent that she was going to do her darned best. She kept Eris close as she turned to look behind her, squinting down the hallway until she spotted a figure. Her grip tightened more, and a small gasp escaped her.
That student. She knew him! But something was...not right.

SALEM: The sequel  Finished

Eris chatted about random things to Krez, hand and hand with her new friend Krez, who was not a house elf. That had been a shock in it's self, when Krez had revealed herself as a girl. Since then, Eris had cherished her blooming friendship with the other girl, and enjoyed hanging out with her although the friendship was very new. Eris still was afraid everytime the other girl took her hand, or offered her a hug. Never before had she had friends as affectionate as Kludd, and sometimes Krez. Life since the odd bathroom incident had been pretty eventful. Eris enjoyed talking to Kludd about books, and chatting to Krez about knives. Since her other close friend Kaegen had given her a knife, the two girls had spent time talking about knives.

Speaking of Kaegen, Eris hadn't seen her two ravenclaw friends Adam and Kaegen in a while. By a while, she meant a few days, but it felt a lot longer. Even Ikhi, Eris's little pet, missed Kaegen and his other moneky-frog things. The name of which, Eris had forgotten already. "So I was think-" Eris droned off as the other girl suddenly tightened her grip on Eris's hand like a vise, and started sniffing at the air, like a bloodhound of some sort.

Was she half-dog or something? Eris wouldn't of been surprised. Already in the short amount of time she had known Krez, Eris had already assumed Krez was a troll, house-elf, and a boy. Her being half-dog would be almost boring compared to some of Eris's other theories. All of a sudden Krez started sprinting down the hallway, dragging Eris behind her, as the red-head yelled in protest, before Krez stopped running in front of Kaegen?!

Kaegen was bleeding?! Without thinking, Eris yanked her hand out of Krez'z grasp, as Ikhi peeked her head out of Eris's robes and let out a distressed yelp. There was blood all over Kaegen's robes, and it wasn't just his. The creatures! Without thinking about cooties, for once, Eris sprinted the final few steps to Kaegen, even as he kept spiriting. "KAEGEN!" Eris screamed, chasing after him. She hoped Krez was following, as Ikhi chirped from Eris's shoulder, digging her webbed claws into Eris's shoulder to keep her running faster. "YOU'RE BLEEDING!" Eris kept screaming, skidding to a stop when her tiny legs could no longer run.

What happened? Eris was panicked, staring at the dripping blood on the floor, than at her friend. "What happened?" She voiced outloud, panting heavily.

Crashing through the doors of the Great Hall, Adam chased after his friend as fast as he could. It wasn't difficult to track Kaegen's movements, following the path of blood that he left behind. From what Adam could tell, he was headed to the library -- of course, the library, where Eri had said she was going. Kaegen was in no shape to be running around, and he knew that. But it seemed as if the rush of activity had clouded his mind, and Adam couldn't see any way this chase could end but trouble. The Hogwarts house elves were going to have one heck of a time cleaning this up.

Catching sight of Kaegen's long robes as they flashed around a corner, Adam sped up to give chase. He had abandoned his robes in the Great Hall, and only wore a pair of pants underneath and a t-shirt (it was 2018, after all). His more optimal clothing combined with his longer strides were sure to help him catch up to his friend in no time. Turning the corner himself, he spied Kaegen still running. "KAEGEN!" he yelled, determined not to lose his target. "This is the opposite of not doing anything stupid!" Tearing down the corridor, he nearly collided with two other students that were coming around a corner. One of them he didn't know -- she wore a scarf over her face and he hadn't seen her around before. The other was.....Eris? Yes, there was no mistaking the short, fiery-haired Gryffindor as she caught sight of Kaegen darting through the school and began her own pursuit. It didn't take long for her to slow to a stop, but Adam knew he couldn't afford to explain. Hurtling by her, he called, "Eris! Get help!"

He knew that the library was close by, but he was also gaining on Kaegen. He had a plan -- a risky plan, but still a plan nonetheless. It might get the both of them hurt. It might ruin his relationship with the strange boy for good. But it was worth it, especially since it didn't look like the Ravenclaw could be calmed down any time soon. Picking up a final burst of speed, using his height to his advantage and closing the gap between him and his friend, Adam made a split decision. Flinging himself off his feet and springing into the air, he felt himself surge forward and aimed for Kaegen's middle. Life with an older brother had taught him one thing: when all else fails, a good tackle is never a bad plan.

He hoped the same would apply here.

Kaegen passed eris and that other girl he knew from somewhere, eris asked him what was going on and he answered as quickly as possible. His soft, faraway voice was completely gone, replaced with a storm of power, of action. There was no reason for him to hide now, he was leading the hunt.
"There's a death witch in hogwarts! Hiding in the library!"
He ran a bit farther, when Merlin's red thing suddenly lit up. Kaegen spun around mid-leap as someone impacted him in the middle. Hard. Several things happened at once. Kaegen had not lived this long doing nothing. He had enough reflexes to survive the fens, and those reflexes were going to work now, bleeding gash or no bleeding gash. Stretching the already prepared slingshot tight he let the stone fly. It was aimed from a distance of 1 inch, directly at the head of the boy that had started to tackle Kaegen. Even as he released the stone, sure in his accuracy. It was only a inch away, after all, he reached for his knife. He was not going to be downed so easily. This boy, whoever it was, was going to meet an early death.

Death witch?? New boy?? Sudden Tackling??? S l i n g s h o t s?????? What in the name of headmaster Winslow was going on here?! Krez's reaction time wasn't quick enough for her liking, so her feet acted without her. In a flash, she was running towards the two boys, surprised to already see them starting a tussle. It made her cringe internally, knowing Kaegen was so willing to fight with such a heavy wound across his torso. She could admire his spirit at least, but she also believed in priorities. Can't catch a death witch if you bleed to death on the stone floor.

Nearing the scuffle, Krez reached into her coat for something, pulling out her neatly-folded school robes that she intended to use as makeshift bandages. Just to stop the bleeding as much as she was able. But before any of that could happen she needed to pull the two apart. Or at the very least help this other boy subdue Kaegen long enough. By the time she was close enough to do anything significant, she was able to watch as he actually shot the other Ravenclaw with a stone, point blank.
She lost her hold on her robe after that, instead now focusing purely on separating the two. It was going to be like pulling two angry animals apart, but it was a risk she thought she was going to have to take in order to get any good done. Krez hurriedly dived into the fray, determined to get a hand on each of them in an attempt to pry them apart. Small, but still stout, she hoped her strength was enough to force them away from one another, as well as enough to keep her from sustaining any heavy damage herself.

SALEM: The sequel  Finished

Clary's footfalls came thundering after Adam Harrington, anxiously in chase of Kaegan, the Ravenclaw boy who'd somehow managed to provoke Eri Windstone, one of Clary's dormmates and potentially evil acquaintance, into casting the advanced spell of Diffindo, usually used in dueling to slice opponents, against the undefendable Ravenclaw boy. Although perhaps Kaegan was in the wrong for starting the fight after letting his acidic lizard's temper get a bit too much out of hand, the situation had far exceeded what it was meant to become, and her friend now ran like a lunatic through the halls, dripping blood as he went.

She vaguely noticed a few bypassers as she continued onwards, her mind reeling over the situation at hand. Adam was up ahead of her, still a decent distance from the slowing Kaegan, appearing to be half-staggering by this point in his descent down the Corridor. How had this mess even started? Clary had been eating her food and sipping her pumpkin juice, keeping up a pleasant conversation with James, where the two had agreed to meet later to practice for the upcoming Quidditch game on Monday when she'd noticed Kaegan continue to tense up after her prior warning to back down. Sure, a Slytherin boy had sat at the Ravenclaw table, but she'd tried to avoid the situation escalating just for the exact reason that was taking place! She didn't want to see any of her friends getting hurt. Especially if one of said friends' name was a reckless boy with a great passion for Magical Creatures who often didn't think about his own physical health or well-being before he acted rashly in numerous examples of situations.

All too quickly, a few things happened at once. Adam, a few feet ahead of her, rounded the corner of the Corridor, and Clary soon followed. She was pretty sure she'd overheard Adam call out the name Eris and presumed the cute, red-headed Prefect was somewhere in this hallway, as well. Hopefully, while she prayed this situation didn't end in disaster when Adam finally caught up with Kaegan, Eris could spend a valuable portion of time getting help. Before Claryssa could react, she spotted Adam launch himself into the air, feet lifting off the ground as he flew forwards... right into Kaegan! As her mind whirled over the situation, she came to realize the boy was trying to tackle the errant injured down. Great plan, except for the fact that Kaegan was already spilling blood everywhere, and tackling him probably wouldn't really assist in his condition.

Matters only seemed to get worse as Kaegan revealed a slingshot in his hand, releasing a heavy rock in close vicinity to Adam's head. The gleam of metal could next be seen in the Ravenclaw boy's palm, and Clary lurched forwards, grabbing the knife and slingshot from Kaegan before he had a chance to further use any of the weapons. "Kaegan... look at me... It's Clary. You need to calm down, okay? You've lost a lot of blood, and you just hurt Adam." She kept her eyes fixated on him, too scared to glance in Adam's direction to see his reaction to the shot.

SALEM: The sequel  Finished

Adam? Help. Get help for Kaegen? He needed help, but she wasn't going to leave Kaegen while he was bleeding. Scratch that, while he was fighting ADAM?

Adam. Adam and Kaegen. Fighting. Krez was there too, pulling her two best friends apart. But first of all, why in the name of all that was god and holy were her two best friends in the whole castle fighting? Adam and Kaegen liked each other, right? They had gotten along well enough, even though they had a rocky start on the Hogwarts Express. They all had. Kaegen was bleeding. Surely, Adam could see that, so why was he fighting Kaegen? And how was Kaegen still fighting back? What if they hit Krez on accident? Oh god this was horrible.

Eris stood there in shock, picking up the abandoned robes on the floor with shaking hands. "ADAM, KAEGEN, STOP!" Eris yelled, in a stronger voice than she felt. This was all very odd, and very messy. The floor was stained the the red blood of Kaegen, and the various colors of Kaegen's creatures and their blood. As if the fight wasn't bad enough already, it occured to the red-head that Kaegen also had knives on him.

Her best friends were going to die. Oh god. She was going to be an 11 year old with the mental trauma of having two friends die, in the course of five minutes. This really wasn't good. Eris stopped panicking, as another girl got into the mix. Who on earth was the girl, why was she grabbing Kaegen?Eris forgot her worries, blood rushing to her face. She practically snarled at the other girl, fixing her with a glare. This was none of her business. This was a fight between Eris's two best friends, and she was going to fix it, not some random girl. This was between Krez, Adam, Kaegen, and Eris. How dare this girl walk into the mix, and treat Kaegen like she knew him and could calm him down?

"Excuse me, what are you doing?" Eris snarled, in an overly polite voice, stepping in front of Kaegen and the girl. The so-called cute Gryffindor prefect looked as feral as her dear friend Krez, as she got up in the Ravenclaw girl's face. "Don't make a situation worse, when you have no idea what it's about." Truth be told, Eris also had no idea what the situation was about, but it was her duty as a good friend to calm down the situation and defend her friends. Praying that Adam hadn't gotten up and hurt Adam, Eris turned away from the girl and back to her friends, face still bright red.

SALEM: The sequel  Finished

Claryssa resisted the urge to snap at the fiery red-head, knowing at this moment, the Gryffindor prefect had absolutely no idea what she was talking about. Although Clary was aware of Eris’ name, the two girls hadn’t really had a chance to talk to one another, and now wasn’t really the best opportunity to strike one up when Kaegan was going hysterical and Adam was caught in the crossfire. The sight of all of the blood made her want to throw up, but this whole situation was between her house mates, and she felt she had a responsibility to help put things right, especially considering she’d been there to witness, and attempt to prevent, the whole cause of this drama in the first instance.

At this point, Eris’ yelling was no help to anyone involved. Kaegan’s weapon’s had been removed, and he was practically unconscious at this point from the amount of blood loss he was facing, something that needed to be handled very quickly. She wasn’t really sure what condition her other housemate, Adam, was in, but she figured the best way to really aid the situation was to get medical attention before any of them got any worse. Evidently the Gryffindor prefect thought more with her heart than her head in times of difficulty, which, although it was a rather endearing trait to have, wasn’t going to help save either of the friends she was yelling about.

Still remaining by Kaegan’s side, in the matter that he tried anything else, she turned to face the Gryffindor girl, trying to keep the tone of her voice steady, though of course, she was internally panicking for quite a large variety of recasons. ”I actually do know what this is about, thanks, and if you want to keep yelling at me? Go ahead. However, you’re the Gryffindor prefect and currently it’s your responsibility to get help before either of their conditions get any worse.”

Noticing Eris’s expression, she added with a slight tilt of her head, “Would you like me to have left the weapons in his hand? Kaegan is hysterical at the moment and about to pass out. I’m only trying to help, and if you’re curious about what happened, Kaegan lost his temper and Eri Windstone hit him with Diffindo,” she informed the red-head matter-of-factly.

SALEM: The sequel  Finished

"Son of a--" The pain cut off his curse as he rolled away from Kaegen and came to a rest lying next to the other boy, clutching his head in agony. Merlin's beard, it was killing him. How could something as childish and innocent as a slingshot do so much damage? Oh god, Adam thought, what if the rock's still in my head? Reaching up to feel his forehead, he was relieved to find the skin relatively smooth -- except for the cut that spanned the short distance between his eyes. It was probably a relief that he wasn't dead. The cut wasn't bleeding too badly, but he knew it was still going to require a trip to the hospital wing.

Kaegen had a lot of explaining to do.

Adam tilted his head to see three girls descend on the scene. He only knew one of them, his good friend Eris Elcan. The others seemed to be another Gryffindor and one of the writers from Ravenclaw. What was her name? Larissa or something like that. The Gryffindor girl with the scarf over her head made sure to put herself between Adam and Kaegen first, which was nice of her, even if unnecessary. Next came Larissa, kneeling next to Kaegen and trying to get his weapons out of his hands. That was probably smart too, but he wasn't sure how much luck she'd have. Within a minute, it was clear she wasn't getting anywhere; Eris had just recognized her arrival and was chewing the Ravenclaw out for "meddling where she didn't belong." Or at least, he thought that's what was going on. If he was being totally honest, his focus was starting to fail him. All he knew was that he had to do one thing before the situation got any worse.

Rising from the floor and stumbling over to Kaegen and the scarfed girl. "'Scuse me," he said quietly, returning to the cold tile to kneel next to his friend. "Hey, Kaegen?" he asked, not meeting the other boy's eyes. This could hurt -- a lot -- but it needed to happen. He remembered back to last summer, when Dean had been home after his fifth year at school, and had decided that Adam needed to know a few more "survival skills".

"Next time someone threatens you," Dean had began, "or is just being generally douche-y, here's what you'll do. Take a deep breath."

Adam breathed in deep and tried to clear his mind of the pain that clouded it continually. They'd be able to treat the both of them in the hospital wing, if they could just get there.

"Find your balance and make sure you plant your feet steadily. That's key."

Adam didn't have much space to find his balance in his current position, but he'd have to sacrifice it in the heat of the moment. Hopefully everything would still go well.

"Now, when you're set, go out hard and fast. Don't draw back; that's a rookie mistake, and they'll know what you're doing right away. Hard and fast. Go."

Adam forced his fist forward, hard and fast, just like he had been taught. He landed a striking blow across Kaegen's face. Adam had been right -- it hurt like hell, and he thought he was going to black out for a minute. Had he mentioned that his head still felt like it might explode? The adrenaline of it all was seemingly keeping him from collapsing right on the spot, and hopefully adrenaline was what he could blame the punch on. After all, that's what he really had acted on, right?

Adam took in the surprised expressions of the three girls and held his hands up in surrender. "It had to be done," he sighed. Now all he could hope for was that the punch kept Kaegen docile (or at least, incoherent) enough to safely make it to the hospital wing.

Kaegen had been doing what he'd been doing based on what he thought would help his friends. He stood up and tried to scare or beat up that slytherin boy to protect his house. He had done it because it was the right thing to do. Someone had to stand up, take initiative.
After he had been cut, he had recognized what had happened, recognized the impossibility of a first year using that spell on him, come to the conclusion there was a threat in the school, and decided that he had to deal with it, no matter the cost.
Kaegen himself could have survived with the evil, he could have hidden, or escaped. He could have gone to live in the forbidden forest, but no. He put his own interests second and went on a hunt. A hunt to save this whole school, and everyone in it.
And this is what happens. This is what happens if you try and help.
You get tackled from behind by that one kid you know from somewhere.
And then people start going berserk, yelling about things! He could hear his name being shouted, someone grabbing him and pushing him back, someone screaming at him to calm down, someone screaming at the person screaming at him to calm down. He was starting to panic. Wild instincts that never should have been in the human body clawing for control over his mind. He was terrified, shocked, full of adrenaline and hurt. He was a wounded animal, surrounded by the one thing he could never hope to understand. His fellow students.
And then the boy came, staggered up. Said excuse me to the girl, and that's when Kaegen knew it was coming. He had seen enough fights in the wild. This was payback. And it was going to hurt, but there were too many people around him, too little room to dodge, he didn't have the strength to dodge. He was still bleeding, he wasn't feeling all too good and then the punch connected. It was a pretty good punch. Nothing especially powerful but it made a few spots flicker in front of Kaegens vision. It made him bite his tongue. The headache made it hard to think clearly, and now he was tasting blood, his blood.
No one could take all this. The instincts took over, and Kaegen was terrified. It showed on his eyes, if not his face. Deep hurt and terror. With superhuman effort, he ripped himself out of his robe and out from underneath the other students. He couldn't even tell who they were any more. The coppery taste of his own blood had coupled with the adrenaline, headache, wound and fear. He didn't think about it, his head was hurting, and his body was screaming that it was in mortal danger.
Kaegen would get out of this, and he would survive. He would survive and he would try his hardest to not ever come back. The thought flashed through his mind, he could fire off a rock at the enemy, kill him if he pulled back hard enough. But if he did that he couldn't run very fast, he would have to focus on pulling the rubber far enough to get a killing strike. Scrapping that idea, Kaegen rejoiced silently in the freedom that came with having your robe off. There was not even a sliver of a hope of any of them catching up and pulling that stupid stunt again.
Kaegen took off down the halls, now trying to escape everyone. Not caring if he headed towards the library or away from it. As long as he could find somewhere that was safe. Turning briefly, he fired off a rock at that boy. It wasn't especially hard, just hard enough to give a nasty bruise were it to hit. And Kaegen was pretty certain that it was going to hit. He had spent enough time hunting to know how to aim quickly.
Next to that boy were people, but Kaegen's mind was too panicked, too terrified. It registered them only as dark forms, terrifying things that would kill him if they got the chance. Looking down the corridors, Kaegen took off in a dead sprint, seeming to shoot along the floors, not making a sound as he went.

Hope you don't mind that I joined but Eri was leaving the Library and headed to the common room and accidently bumped into all of you. You can tell me to leave and I can delete the post.
Eri heard Kaegen running and she ducked behind the door of the Library as she heard him run by. Once he passed by she came out from behind the door and stood up with her back towards everyone. When she turned around her face turned red in embarrassment. Why did this have to happen. I just want to get somewhere I can be alone. She thought. She mentally cursed. She would have to walk past them to get to the common room.

She kept her gaze down and at the floor. She kept to the opposite side of the corridor and walked quickly by them hoping Adam or clary would not speak to her. She just wanted to get by as fast as she could.

She frowned and wanted to draw no attention to herself. She kept her steps silent and hoped nobody would notice her walking by them.

She was directly at the group and she held her breath as she attempted to walk by them.

More was happening around her than she thought necessary. The boys were pulled apart, but an arguement and a solid face punch later and Kaegen was darting off again, still bleeding and probably in worse shape than he was originally. Krez could only wonder what was going on in his head that made him behave so strangely, but she didn't have a lot of time to think any deeper about it. Turning to Eris and the new girl, Krez gestured in the direction Kaegen ended up going in kind of a way to get their attention back on the main goal.

"Go!" Was all she was really able to say before grabbing the other Ravenclaw boy's arm harshly, with full intention on heading to the hospital wing. He was hurt, Kaegen was hurt, they were all going to get hurt at this rate. Nobody bothered to go grab a nurse to help, so Krez took it upon herself to do the honors since apparently no one else knew how. She figured might as well kill two birds with one stone by dragging the other kid along, even if she was internally surpressing the urge to beat him into the hall floors. She already had her experience with that, and knew Eris as a prefect would probably have to get her in trouble for doing so.

Eris felt rage building up in her head as she stared at the rude ravenclaw girl, forgetting she was a prefect. All the red-head wanted to do was sock the girl in the jaw. She really had no right to act like she knew what was going on. But Eris was a prefect after-all, and there were more pressing matters at hand than some girl. "Eri Windstone is a little b-" she opened her mouth to finish the sentence than heard a sickening sound. Abandoning any pretense of conversation, Eris turned to see Adam standing there, having punched Kaegen in the face.

She would of yelled or screamed in any other situation, but this was Adam and Kaegen. And Adam didn't look all that okay. He was muttering something, and Eris couldn't tell. She then looked at Kaegen, flinching back at the expression in his eyes. Feeling all her anger drain, Eris looked close to tears as she took a step closer to her two ravenclaw friends, only to see Kaegen bolt off.

Someone was talking, and Krez was grabbing Adam, but Eris wasn't able to process anything other than the fact her two best friends were both extremely hurt. Krez said something about going after Kaegen, but Eris took another step closer to Adam. "Adam, oh my god, are you okay?" Eris blinked back tears, staring at her friend, than frantically at Kaegen's retreating back.

"I have to go get Kaegen, but I'll be right back. Please be okay Adam. " She looked once more at her friend, terror clouding her vision before finally heeding Krez's words.

Eris took off after Kaegen, only to skid to a halt in front of Eri Windstone. Remembering what the blonde ravenclaw girl had said about Eri starting this whole thing, Eris stared at Eri with her rage bubbling over. Without thinking about the possible repercussions, Eris swung her fist into Eri's face as hard as she could. "That's for Kaegen and Adam." She spat, before pushing past Eri and continuing her chase after Kaegen.

Eri saw the red head coming towards her and didn't flinch when she punched her in the face. She held her now bleeding nose and mouth, She muttered quietly hoping nobody heard her. "I -I deserved that." She walked by quicker covering her now bruised and bleeding face. Tears started to fall off of her cheeks and some mixed with her blood on her face. All she wanted to was go home and forget everything that happened.

She didn't care that she just got punched. She thought she deserved a lot more than just a punch to the face. Her brain told her to go to the hospital wing but her mind told her to avoid that place in fear of something worse from Eris. She whispered to herself "I didn't mean to hurt kaegen." She wished she never even went to the great hall that day. Maybe she could go somewhere and hide.

She ran past the rest of the group and ditched her plans on going to the common room. She justed wanted to find a place that was deserted with nobody else there.

She turned a corner and ran off towards the grounds where she would spend the night and hide from everyone.
