One on one roleplay with Wyatt Starkey
It was never Alec's intention. It never would have been. But who can say no to a good prank? See, this is one of the many examples why Alec shouldn't be left alone to his own devices. He gets into a bit of mischief without thinking things through first.Alec had set up the whole prank in the corridors it was actually pretty simple. Not a big grand prank or anything like that. Although it was going to cause a lot of havoc and noise. Well, mostly noise. See, there was a trip wire at the end of the hallway, thin enough where you could see in it the light. But not think enough to the point you'd notice it right away, it'd take a bit to notice it.So unless you weren't really looking for it, you wouldn't see it. If you were to touch the trip wire, it'd pull on the hidden howlers he had stuffed behind the armor that you still really wouldn't notice at all unless you were looking for it. Once touched or tripped on whichever came first the howlers would open. Common sense. But of course the howlers had to be stupid he got other Hogwarts students to help him everybody saying random things. Some shouting, some singing a random tune they heard on the radio ect.Now once again unless you weren't expecting it was sure to scare you. Because the corridors around this time of day were all very quiet and nobody was ever really in them. Anyway, that lead to the next thing. The soap on the ground he'd borrowed a bit from the boys' lavatory. Once falling/tripping you would slip on the soap sliding down on the hallway.Alec hadn't exactly worked out how he was going to clean up the soap afterwards but he'd worry about that later it was time to watch his prank set into motion. Alec ended up waiting an hour before somebody finally came. And was about to trip over the trip wire.@Wyatt StarkeyAnd guess who it was? Snake-boy himself. Wyatt. Shoot..

Everyone else was in class or at least they should’ve been. He’d been trying to get out of transfiguration by hiding out in the abandoned toilets, but it got boring, it always got boring. He needed something- anything to do. Maybe if he cared more, he could be a prefect, walk the halls and yell at the students slacking off, but he was the one slacking off, so it wouldn’t work out, really.
While crossing the courtyard, a snake hissed at the Slytherin. Wyatt smiled and got down on his knees. “Don’t hiss, it’s not very nice,” he said in a low parseltongue. Looking up, he saw a prefect staring in confusion. He knew the prefect couldn’t hear, but if Wyatt stayed and talked to the snake, he’d become suspicious. He was glad he caught the boy staring in time.
Wyatt cleared his throat. “Sorry, I’m just getting back to class!”
With that, he stood and started speed walking through the halls. He looked over his shoulder to check if the prefect was following him, and he wasn’t. Phew. Wyatt picked up his pace, he started running through the halls, he didn’t want to run into that prefect again, he’d have questions. Questions are bad. Running is good.
For Wyatt, it happened so fast. First the tripwire, falling on his stomach, and sliding to the sounds of children screaming and singing out of key. He was almost unconscious, almost, but no, he wasn’t allowed relief. He had to be awake with the pain of his newly broken nose. As he slid to a halt, and the howlers ripped themselves up, he turned to lay on his back, so he wouldn’t lose too much blood.
He was on his back for a few seconds before he had the thought. Whoever pulled this "hilarious" prank must be near. He jumped up, covered in soap, and carefully walked to the nearest soapless patch of ground.
“You…” he sounded like a cliché villain in a muggle cartoon Disney movie, but he kind of liked it. “You did this.” It was more of a statement than a question. He was talking to, of course, Alec J. Mason.
Alec J. Mason, the scumbag Gryffindor. “You’d be lucky if I let you go in one piece you bloody oaf!” Though he yelled, he just stood there, tilted his head back, and pinched his nose.

@Wyatt StarkeyAlec stared for a moment. A look of pure shock on his face. Mainly due to the fact that Wyatt got hurt. That wasn't exactly Alec's intentions with any of his pranks. It was supposed to be a bit of harmless fun. But this wasn't exactly harmless. Snake-boy was bleeding. Alec felt a bit bad he would've felt worse had it been anybody else, but it was Snake-boy. So of course Alec didn't actually feel that bad.If it had just been some random kid trying to walk through the halls, Alec would've felt worse. And throughout all this Alec had been grinning slyly“You’d be lucky if I let you go in one piece you bloody oaf!”Alec couldn't deny. Getting that kind of reaction felt great. It was payback for Wyatt kicking Alec senseless. Still grinning, Alec said. "Come on, hit me. I dare you" Then it dawned on him. This was horrible, what was Alec thinking? He was happy someone got hurt? Well, not just someone, Snake-boy.That still didn't fix the point Alec shouldn't be smiling this was wrong. This was just as bad as Wyatt kicking him. Alec was no better by grinning. Even if it wasn't on purpose. And yet here Alec was still grinning. He covered his mouth with his hand as he tried to force back his grin. Snake-boy probably thinking Alec was regretting what he said only minutes earlier. But that's the funny thing. Alec didn't. Alec wasn't going to fight back this time or any other time. So if Wyatt dare lay a hand on Alec. Alec could tell on him. Alec didn't exactly care that he'd be 'tattle-tail' if he did. Alec had the upper hand and surely anyone the least bit smart knew it.

"Come on, hit me. I dare you"
Well, that was definitely not the answer Wyatt expected, nor was it one he wanted. Usually whoever Wyatt barked at would be scurrying off by now, saying sorry or at least saying it with a sarcastic tone, but this bloody Gryffindor stood his ground. After what Wyatt did during their first meeting, he imagined Alec would have said anything else but something along the lines of “attack me.”
Oh, how Wyatt wanted to hit Alec in that moment, but the boy would surely tattle-tail like a 2nd grader, and Wyatt would serve his whole life in detention. The wretched boy was grinning, hiding it behind his hand, again like a 2nd grader, but grinning. Wyatt took his hand away from his bloody nose and lowered his head to look Alec in the eye, blood slowly dripping from his nose. He felt like he was going to pass out, but this was so much more important.
He was standing more lazily than he used to. Slouching instead of his usual stick-up-his-ass posture. He was losing a lot of blood, anyone else would have passed out by now, but it usually took Wyatt longer to pass out than other kids, it was like he was used to losing a ton of blood. He was bleeding like he asked his body to bleed.
He looked Alec up and down once. The boy, on the outside, looked like he regret what he’d said, but Wyatt knew that wasn’t really how he felt. It was merely a mask, unintentional, sure, but a mask all the same. Wyatt knew about masks. He’d worked very hard all his life to construct the perfect mask, a mask void of emotion, and he wore it every day. He was wearing it now. He was unreadable. His face didn't dare show what he knew. That Alec had the upper hand.
It was starting to get dark and Wyatt’s head was pounding. When did his heart relocate to where his brain should be?
“You…”
He closed his eyes for a full second, unable to keep them open, before he snapped them open again.
“Intolerable…”
Strange, it was getting very dark… who was putting out the fires?
“Bastard…”
Wyatt fell backward in slow motion (or at least it felt like it), and passed out.
Blood still dripped from his nose for a moment before stopping, as his head was tilted back, stopping the blood from coming out. His mouth was open slightly, that's how he breathed.

@Wyatt StarkeyWell Wyatt had one thing right. Alec could be an 'Intolerable bastard' and he knew it. It often times made him wonder how much everybody else knew about it. I mean Clifton did deny that Alec was a 'psychopath' when Alec had asked him, but Clifton was a good liar Alec had seen it all before. The way he came up with the best cover stories for everything he did. He could surely lie to Alec about him being a 'psychopath' then again Clifton said questioning it was a great sign or something like that meaning Alec wasn't one.And even if watching Wyatt suffer had felt so good at the moment. It hadn't exactly now. Alec could feel regret bubbling in him and coming up to the surface. For multiple reasons. One being that Snake-boy and or Wyatt whatever to call him was hurt. And It was Alec's fault.. He was bleeding, shoving somebody was nothing compared to this. Two being the mess. How was he going to clean blood up? Soap was hard enough to clean up as it is blood was a whole another issue. There was no way he was going to clean up even the smallest drop of Wyatt's blood, well that and it'd stain any mop or anything he could use to clean it up with.Three how was he going to get Wyatt to the hospital wing? Alec grimaced slightly at the thought of even trying to carry him. Alec would end up dropping Wyatt making things worse.Alec let out a small sigh. He knew he couldn't get into trouble since it wasn't exactly intentional, even if Alec deserved it. Alec could go get a prefect.. But then he'd have to explain why he wasn't in class. Which had a reasonable explanation.. kinda.. not actually..So in efforts to not get himself in trouble and not break his own back Alec decided it was best to sit Wyatt up against the wall and get him an ice pack so once Wyatt was conscious again he could get there without Alec breaking his back and was a slightly less bruised nose or something like that.Alec let out a small sigh, walking through the patches of soapy ground, and almost falling multiple times. "Stupid soap and being great at what I wanted you to do" Alec mumbled once he'd finally gotten to Wyatt. Sitting the boy up against the wall, Alec let out a small sigh. Either Wyatt was very heavy, or Alec was very weak..Alec came back a few minutes later with an ice pack for Wyatt who was still unconscious setting the ice pack on Wyatt's nose and holding it there deciding he would stay till Wyatt was unconscious again than he'd start cleaning up.By the time Wyatt actually fell conscious, Alec had a worried expression on his face till he finally saw a slight movement. Alec let out a relieved sigh at that. Alec's curly hair falling to his face a complete mess once again, his cheeks tinted a slight rosy red because he'd been holding his breath hoping Wyatt was okay, and his bright green eyes slightly glimmering either with a sense of child-like wonder or just the sun from the windows reflecting in them. Most likely both considering Alec was a bit curious as to what it felt like when one goes unconscious.

Wyatt woke, leaning against the wall with none other than Alec J. Mason holding an… ice pack against his nose? This kid would obviously never be a healer, all the ice pack did was sting. He snatched it out of the other boys hand and held it against the back of his head, where it hit the ground. He took multiple deep breaths through his mouth.
“Don’t touch me,” he warned quietly. He didn’t care that Mason was just trying to help. It barely even crossed his mind how he got to be leaning up against the wall in the first place. He looked over to where he fell. The blithering idiot child saw him weak, unconscious and bleeding. He’ll never see him as a threat again after he was brought down by some soap. A warning may help to build back Alec’s fear of Wyatt. Wyatt Starkey was nothing if not proud.
He looked into Alec’s eyes for a moment. They were twinkling, it was very odd. He quickly averted his gaze and looked back to where he’d fallen. A pool of soap and blood had pooled up where his head had been. That was an easy fix that an idiot like Alec would be incredibly worried about. They just needed a professor or an older student who knew scourgify. The blood, though, reminded him of just how much his nose hurt.
“How could you… think that… think that was a good idea?”
It took him a while to make out a sentence, as he was still catching his breath.

@Wyatt StarkeyThat was simple. Alec hadn't been thinking. He'd just been 'doing' boredom got the best of him. He hadn't exactly thought out all the science on it though. Although it didn't take a genius to know you could get hurt sliding against a floor like that. Alec had just been absent to the fact. Ignoring it."Heh Both my ignorance and severe case of boredom made me do crazy things It wasn't exactly well thought out. But the idea was cool" Alec said with a small awkward laugh. "I would've thought it through more but then I'd forget the idea completely or spend so much time changing it that it wasn't even the original idea anymore" He admitted. The idea did sound way better is his head. Although a lot of things sounded way better in his head than out loud. A lot of things did. Which is probably why Alec regretted almost every word that came out of his mouth.Alec then turned his attention back to Wyatt's injury offering Wyatt a crooked smile. "I can't exactly carry you to the hospital wing. And I didn't exactly want to get into trouble for skipping class," Alec said, even though that was likely it was going to happen. "So.. I would have gotten a prefect or an adult, but that's my stupid reasoning for it," Alec explained.

“How… how could you POSSIBLY- gh…”
His heart was pounding in his ears again. Right, yes, I fainted, he thought. Maybe I shouldn’t start yelling again. That Lion was a complete idiot, and it was entirely his fault that Wyatt was in this position. His head was pounding again, he really needed to eat more, it's likely a factor in why he fainted. He looked at his hands, and they were super pale, he could only imagine what the rest of him looked like.
He lazily threw the ice pack on the ground like a toddler and leaned his head back against the wall, closing his eyes. His head hurt like crazy where it hit the ground against the cold, stone wall, but he didn’t care very much. Well until he realized how much of an idiot he probably looked like and opened his eyes again.
He jumped up from the ground and immediately felt lightheaded.
He slid down the stone wall and sat again. He raised his pale hand to his nose and looked down at it. There was no blood on the hand. He felt the dry blood beneath his nose, but he wasn’t still bleeding. At least he had that going for him.
“I need to go to the Hospital Wing.” He spoke in almost a whisper, not wanting to pass out again, but desperately hoping Alec could hear him and he wouldn't have to repeat everything. He slowly stood up, and carefully started walking.
“You can leave the mess… there are… there are simple spells for this.”

@Wyatt Starkey"I know that. I'd just rather not get into trouble for my acts of stupidity" Alec said with a small laugh. It made him think, though. He should really start a list on how many stupid things he's gone well at Hogwarts and check up on the list on his last year of Hogwarts. They were more of acts. Just 'doing' and not thinking, of course. Not really stupidity. If Alec actually cared that much about something it probably would've been thought through instead of carelessly put together like this prank.Alec had been sitting down next to Wyatt till he stood up. Then glanced back at the mess. "I guess if worse comes to worse if it's just left here nobody will know it was my fault unless somebody says something" Alec said his voice trailing off a bit as his gaze went back to Wyatt. It was about time Alec apologized. At first he'd been practically mocking Wyatt. "I-I'll help you get to the hospital wing.. if you don't mind that is" Alec offered. He wasn't exactly sure if the last few words were an invitation to help get Wyatt to the hospital wing or not. But it only seemed fair. This also set Alec up for enough time to apologize to Wyatt. For everything. From this dumb little prank which wasn't even meant for Wyatt to what happened back in the small hall. Then Clifton's words rang in Alec's head like an alarm clock."You're a normal kid, just like the rest of us. We all have little things we do that probably seem weird to other people. I know I do. I bet even that Wyatt kid does."
Maybe so. This whole incident kinda normalized Wyatt as an actual person with emotions. That could feel some kind of pain. At first the boy just seemed inhuman. Just mean for no reason. But maybe it was more than that. I mean, after seeing Wyatt actually struggle.. It really put things into perspective.

"I-I'll help you get to the hospital wing… if you don't mind that is."
The bloody child already changed his opinion on me, Wyatt thought. If I hadn’t passed out, he wouldn’t be offering a thing.
“I m-… I mind.” Though his voice was weak and quiet, it was cold and carried a hefty amount of venom. “I will be fine. I don’t need… your help.”
His head was pounding but he could still walk… kind of, which was a good sign. Sure, he passed out and hit the ground hard, but his head wasn’t bleeding, and his nose stopped bleeding ages ago, so it wasn’t like he was going to die. His arm was leaning on the wall for balance. He was moving, but he didn’t look very fine.
Though he was insistent on walking to the Hospital Wing by himself, he accidentally lost balance and fell to his knees.
“Bloody hell,” he exclaimed softly as he pushed himself back up. That bloody prank made him look like a real human. A person with emotions and the ability to feel pain, and that was very much not what he wanted to show to Alec. He continued walking, his hand leaning on the wall for balance.
If I had the strength, he thought to himself, I would go back there and tear him apart.
Really, though, if he had the strength, he would just walk away without the wall. He’d hurt Alec and he still needed to make it up to him. The real reason behind not letting the daft Gryffindor help him to the Hospital Wing wasn’t pride, it was that he would then owe Alec two favors.
Pride was also a large factor, but owing him double was the main reason.
