Baking Memories
PV to @Frost Cira & @Hjørdis Jensen
14th September. 7:45 PM.
The kitchen was a place Falentra had never visited before. She knew of it well, and had the pleasure of being greeted by all sorts of glorious smells throughout her years here at Hogwarts, but never had she had the opportunity to have a sneaky peak inside. That was until today. Thanks to her Head of House, Miss Jensen had kindly offered to accompany the Slytherin and Hufflepuff to the kitchen.
The room itself was huge. It was expected. To feed so many mouths required that of extra space for those house-elves to quite litreally use there magic. Upon shelves stacked with plates and bowls, to counters filled with iron cutlery, the place was surprisingly in pristine condition. It was well lit for an evening, giving Falentra a good view to admire the place as well as the soft smells of food that lingered the room. The Slytherin couldn’t remember what home felt like, but if she could, this smell would somewhat resemble it.
As much as Falentra wanted to rummage throughout the draws for tools and to just have a general nosey, she would stop look towards the Hufflepuff. The girl looked almost like a porcelain doll. Her features were soft-like and her frame was dainty. She gave off that of an elegant vibe, a cheery girl with full of life. Very much unlike herself. Although her own complexion was pale, she was more sickly looking. There seemed to be no similarities for the two to become close, or understand one another, at least that’s what one would think if you was to put the two side-by-side. But it seemed there would be one interest they shared and that was baking. Falentra has always wanted to attempt it. She had read books galore and watched a variety tv shows on all types of baking but never had she had the opportunity to get hands on with a hobby she had never attempted.
“You must be Frost?” She asked, her eyes making there way up and down the girl. She remember back to when she had originally asked Hjørdis Jensen on accompanying her to the kitchens. Though another student joining was mentioned, she didn’t expect it to be someone who looked so full of life. Was she going to be a lot to handle? Because she couldn’t be bothered with a giddy upbeat girl baking beside her.
The thought caused her to roll her eyes before she continued to walk towards a counter, big enough for the two to get to work. “Me names Falentra Black.” Minutes would have passed before she gave her own name. Although a small smile would form on her lips, the rest of her face showed a sign of boredom. Greetings weren’t a strength of hers and she found them awkward. She really just wanted to crack on and let her creativity take over at this point, but she wasn’t too sure as to where all the baking goods were kept.
Her eyes scanned the room before making there way to the Jensens. The woman was beautiful and she too had an elegant look to her, although for some reason Falentra got a vibe that she was somewhat strict, or stern. A woman that was not easy to read. “Erm. Fancy givin’ is a hand with settin’ up?” Was she to say please at the end of that? Falentra turned her head to Frost, wondering if she should just let her do the talking from now on.

Baking Memories
09.14.20→ ic date♡ "if there's a whisk, there's a way" ♡@Falentra Black @ Hjørdis JensenNothing gave Frost a sense of home more than the smell of freshly cooked and baked food. The aroma seemed to drift through the air and wrapped her in a warm and secure embrace. Back home, Frost's family- well, mostly her father- owned a small bakery. Quaint and well kept, the shop was well ranked in the list of favorite places of the girl. Well, she had been her father's daughter.
Baking, as well as being something that Frost used as an outlet for stress, was a hobby she had placed several hours of work into. To her father when she was a bit younger, Frost had always been an assistant in the kitchen. Knowledge transferred through experience, and inevitably leading to it being one of her more refined skills.
Being in the Hogwarts kitchen gave her an odd sort of feeling. It had always been so close, yet she had never even seen the first few inches of the inside. Sealed behind a door disguised as a painting. Now that Professor Jensen had agreed to accompany herself and another student, the kitchen was no longer a distant mystery. She just had to say "Thank you for letting us come here and for coming with us, Professor."
Professor Jensen, in the nicest way possible, was a picture of elegance and dignity, but certainly one that intimidated Frost. But for some reason, the girl couldn't help but view her in a light that deemed the professor a role model. To her, no other Head of House seemed to hold authority and wield it the way Professor Jensen did. Though the mention of another student joining her did come surprising at first, it did make her feel more comfortable.
It seemed that the two girls had looked at each other at the same time, as if trying to assess one another. Falentra, the other student mentioned, gave off an air of overall collectedness. Dark eyes and hair, complimenting her light complexion. Her cheekbones and jawline were sharp and she seemed to possess a sort of classic beauty Frost would never have.
"It's nice to meet you Falentra, you have a very pretty name." She would offer up a warm smile that touched her eyes. "Yes, I'm Frost, uh, Frost Cira. But I guess you probably know that." Being quite good at reading people, the redhead girl kept her greeting to the minimum, as Falentra seemed to not want to spend too much time on it. As soon as Falentra moved over to Professor Jensen, Frost followed behind a polite distance away.
She too didn't exactly know anything about the Hogwart's kitchen, let alone where anything for baking was located. As Falentra asked Professor Jensen for help, Frost took the few moments to look around the kitchens again, before looking back to Falentra. "Um, yeah. I think we'll need some help finding everything and all." In the brief moment before Professor Jensen's response, Frost couldn't help but wonder what had made a girl like Falentra want to bake. She had realized that it was wrong to judge people simply based on how they acted and looked like, but truthfully, it wasn't as easy as people made it seem. She shooed the judging thoughts away and smiled at the other girl. "Do you like to bake?" As the question left her lips, Frost's head tilted slightly to the left, as a curious puppy would.

Baking Memories

Hjørdis spent far too much of her free time in the kitchens as it was. She found a lot of joy in cooking or baking in the middle of the night. It was relaxing and somewhat therapeutic for her. So when one of her own house approached her, asking if they could bake something, there was no way she could say no. She understood far too well the need to bake, she was not about to deny it from others. Though, she did not really wish to spend time with students, it was best to accompany them. After all, most of the fires - if not every fire - that had been started in the school was because some kid decided to let loose an incendio.
Taking advantage of the opportunity, she decided that she could experiment with the cookie recipe that she been working on whilst they baked whatever they wanted to bake. With that goal in mind, she joined them. She could oversee their actions to ensure they were safe whilst baking her own cookies, leaving them to it.
The pair approached her, asking for assistance. It was not exactly the most polite form of asking for help, at least not by her. But she was not here to lecture or scold students on manners. She was here to bake. That was it. Well, that and supervise them baking. With a nod of her head, she moved towards some shelves. She gathered various equipment they would likely require, such as mixing bowls and whisks. Hjørdis also picked out some ingredients, such as flour, sugar, butter and eggs. Honestly, she had absolutely no idea what their recipe was but she opted for the most basic of ingredients that were likely being used.
As she did it, she also took out supplies for herself. "Do you require anything else?" She asked, wondering if they actually had a recipe or list of ingredients. For example, she was going to need some cinnamon in one of her cookies and ginger in another. She was also tempted to try some cardamom ones... There was a range of different spices on the table in front of her for her own experiments. "You will find additional utensils over there and most ingredients there," She pointed out rough areas for them to look, in case they needed an extra tray or some more sugar or anything. They should have enough to get by without her but she was here if needed.
With that, Hjørdis started to prepare her own cookies.
OOC: I'm just going to have her be 'around' whilst you guys continue, feel free to do minor godmodding and say she assisted finding another ingredient/utensil if required. Tag me if you want me to post though.
