We Welcome You!
A bit delayed, but wanted to have both names in the announcement. Please welcome Kateri Karr our newest Professor of Astronomy and River Jemari our new Professor of Flying. We are very excited to see what they will bring to the team as well as the community. Both of them have some very large shoes to fill as our previous professors for both roles will be sorely missed. While both are new to the team, we are very excited to have them.

Farewell
We are saying good-bye to two well-known Professors: Morfran Griffith, Professor of Care of Magical Creatures and Elliot Price, potioneer and Professor of Potions here at Hogwarts. Mr. Price has chosen to move on but has agreed to stay on while we search for a new Professor. So it is with great gratitude for his service and efforts as well as great sadness I am making this announcement. Applications for both roles will be posted shortly.

NPCs Have Re-Opened
As many of you remember, in October there was an event where Ilvermorny came to Hogwarts and attended a ball. Nothing went wrong of course, good times were had. Those players were the first batch of NPCs created. Since their creation they have been allowed and encouraged to use the owlry to communicate with players that they might have met and to continue relationships. In addition, they have been invited to roleplay in non Hogwarts areas (such as London or Other Places) as long as it made sense for them. It is our desire to keep them relevant, so with the release of the second event as we refine what NPCs are and what they mean for the community players have the opportunity to still make NPCs for Ilvermorny and use them in this event.

Some Questions you Might Have:
- What is the Event -- the Quidditch Finals. Hufflepuff's Quidditch team is going to face off against Durmstrang. The Durmstrang players are being represented by NPCs created by players.
- Can non-Quidditch players make a Durmstrang NPC? Yes.
- Can I as a non-Quidditch Player make a Durmstrang NPC that is a Quidditch Player? In theory yes. However, it is unlikely that you will get the role that you want or any role at all because priority will go to the Quidditch Players. This is another way for them to earn their win since many of these players have played multiple games without a win.
- Will there be things to do that are not Quidditch-related in this event? Yes.
- Can I make an Ilvermorny NPC? Yes.
- Can my Ilvermorny NPC play Quidditch? No.
- How do we sign up for Quidditch? There is a priory list already up regarding who gets first dibs, second and so on. That is so you know where you stand. We will arrange the Quidditch Team for those interested after the characters are created. So you cannot sign up yet for Quidditch (there is a process!)
- I already have an NPC, can I still make a Durmstrang NPC? No, it is one NPC to a player. However, your NPC is welcome to come to the event.
- What is an iNPC? Some of the terminology has been updated for the sake of clarity moving forward. The term is new, but the Ilvermorny applications have been updated to reflect this change. There may be additional changed to the language as we endeavor to make things more clear.

New mandatory Standardized Trunks
Starting tomorrow, we will use a Standardized Trunk Format to avoid code-breaking. All new trunks have to be posted with the new format, while old trunks have to be updated at the earliest opportunity.

Welcome Our Newest Professor of Potions
As we say farewell to our Potions Professor Elliot Price, he moves to a new job at St. Mungos as a healer. As many of us know Professor Price made a mark on the muggle community assisting with the dissemination of a remedy that we have shared with the Muggle-public in the form of a medicine/tonic in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Seeing the medical needs in England, Professor Price has felt compelled to serve those in need.
That said, Professor Aleksander Ostrowski will be joining our ranks immediately. His application had been in our files for some time and when the role became available he stated that he was available immediately. A practiced and proficient potions master, we are excited to see what he brings to Hogwarts.

June's Contest is OPEN
The description contest continues! Winners will earn 3 House Points, 1 Galleon and bragging rights - as well as being credited for their work.
For June, we have these areas up: Please remember that you have to send in submissions between 1st and 8th of June in order to qualify for this month's contest. As this is a little behind, I am extended the deadline by one day so you have until midnight 8th June (for any timezone). Read the FIRST post to find out how to enter HERE.
Winners from May will be decided and announced soon.

Upcoming House Cup Rewards - June
As you know, the Quidditch Tournament is coming in the summer! Hogwarts will play off against Durmstrang iNPCs for the final battle of the year. Are you excited? We are!
For the month of June we wanted to announce the House Points rewards a little early. This month, the cup contest is specifically set up before the upcoming Quidditch Tournament - Hogwarts versus Durmstrang - in the hopes that more players or a house gets some brooms so that they can show their stuff in the Quidditch tournament or future games. Students who contributed 17 points or more to their winning House will earn 5 Galleons towards the purchase and acquisition of a new broom. Brooms grant statistical effects and advantages so they will be advantageous for those that have them in Quidditch matches.
The top three points earners (regardless of House) will be gifted a broom of their choice costing up to 20 Galleons.

Durmstrang and Ilvermorny NPCs are requested to provide us for stats for their NPC characters for the event. There is an opportunity for these characters to participate in some of the murder/fun. They have until June 17th to provide us with their stats as stated in the NPC sign-up threads.

Welcome Ivar Eide, our newest Care of Magical Creatures (COMC) Professor. I am sure he will be somewhat effective. Mind you, I was 'dead' during the application process. Any deaths, maimings, hexes or uh... whatever it is that he does is on the other Heads of Houses and Professors. They saw this face and thought he was safe. Good luck.
