Hating is too easy... Closed

Opeila was inside an empty classroom. On a table next to her layed a book, opened on a page that was supposed to explain a charm to her. No chance. Aggressively Opeila tried and she tried again.
"Argh!" The Slytherin could only just stop herself from throwing her wand to the floor. This was supposed to help her, to keep her distracted from other stuff she didn't want to think about.
But there was no way that she could concentrate on something else if the situation with Jack still bothered her so much. She needed to make a decision how to react. She could hate him, like he wanted her to. That would be the easiest way to deal with it.
But it would also mean, that there would always be a tense atmosphere in the common room if she saw him ad there were six more years she would have to see him every day anyway.
No. That was no option. Opeila put her wand on the table and closed her book.
She was thinking. Hadn't she done or said things all the time, that surprised Jack? Why stop? No. She would do the opposite of what he expected of her.
If he wanted to go the easy way, fine. But she decided not to. Opeila was a loyal person and she would be loyal to Jack Burnett.
He was destroying his future right now. He would make himself a reputation and Hogwarts was small enough for this reputation to get to everyones ears and big enough for giving him a hard time if he continued like that.
He would end up alone and Opeila was pretty sure that he didn't undestand what that meant. Jack obviously liked talking to her up on the Astronomy Tower, just like she did. Hatred wouldn't replace trust. Or care.
And Opeila decided not to let that happen. She decided to care.
